  • How to change the universe in Web I

    Hi,
    I need help, I have created several reports already and I used the old universe in my Web I report. The universe was changed to a new name.
    My objective is to minimize effort of creating a new query and drag again the objects.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rose

    Not for XI-3.x for all versions it is there.
    Just goto Query Panel--> You can see "..." next to universe name (Older versions)
                                    --> Properties --> "..." next to universe name(Latest)
    Just click on "..." button and point new universe, make sure that previous and latest must be have same structure.
    Hope it helps...!!
    Thank You!

  • How To Guide : Impact of a BEx query change to universes and WebI document

    Ever wondered about the impact of a BEx query change to your universes and Intelligence documents ? "If I change this, will I need to refresh the universe structure ? will my Web Intelligence documents break ?". This article aims at clarifying these questions for Web Intelligence documents that use OLAP Universe(s) based on BEx query(ies). More specifically, it clarifies which BEx query change does impact Universes and Web Intelligence documents and which one is transparent to them.
    The first part of this article provides a summary table. The second part explains what to do to make the universe and Web Intelligence documents reflect the BEx query change. And finally, it covers each change scenario in details with more explanation and screen shots.

    Hi Rajesh J Salecha,
    What I understood is like :
    You have two queries and both gives same results but one of the query having a parameter.
    You have one report which is using query1.  Now you want that report to be copied as Report2 and use Query2 instead of Query1.
    If the this is the issue, then you copy Report1 as Report2 and go in Database and change the Data source location to Query2.
    Hope this will help you.  If my understanding is wrong then give us the work flow.
    Thanks,
    Sastry

  • Trying to change the data source for a Crystal Report.

    <p>The method below represents my best attempt to programatically change the data source of a Crystal Report. The goal is to have a routine that will update the data source for reports after they have been distributed to production servers. So far I have not been successful in saving the report back to the CMS. No exceptions are thrown, but when I view the Database Configuration of the report in the CMC nothing has changed.
    </p>
    <p>
    Am I missing a step, or is there another way to accomplish this?

    <p>Justin,</p>
    <p>
    Thank you for the reply. Time constraints have not allowed me to post back to this tread
    till now. I will try your suggestion. My assumption is that <i>Save the report back to the
    info store</i> refers to <span class="code">IInfoStore.commit(IInfoObjects)</span>.
    </p>
    <p>
    I'm afraid that I do not understand why I don't want to change the report client document,
    or why <i>successfully exporting the report with the new login/password</i> is not what I
    want to do. Any explanation on that statement would be appreciated.
    </p>
    <p>
    I did find a way to accomplish my goal. It involved adding the SSOKEY property to the
    logon property bag. Below you'll see my revised code which modifies the report logon and
    server. I have no idea what
    this does, and SAP support has not been able to tell me why it works. However, what I
    discovered is that if I changed the report option, <b>Database Configuration -> When
    viewing report:</b>, in the CMS to <span class="bi">Use same database logon as when report
    is run</span> from <span class="bi">Prompt the user for database logon</span>, then the
    SSOKEY property had been added to the logon property bag having an empty string as its
    value. This allowed me to successfullyupdate and save the modified logon back to the CMS.
    </p>
    <p>
    So I took a chance and added code to always add the SSOKEY property with an empty string
    as its value, and I could then successfully modify and save the report's logon info
    and server. Again, I don't know what this means, but it has worked so far. If anyone has
    some insight or comments, either are welcome. Thank you in advance.

  • Way to change the universal keyboard commands?

    I HATE, HATE, and absolutely HATE Apple's new keyboard command for closing a document without saving it, which goes against all of Apple's other keyboard commands since the beginning of the Mac.
    Is there a way to change it? I could create a macro in a third-party macro utility, but it seems like I would have to do this in every Apple app I own.
    Is there any way to change the universal system preferences so that command-D closes a document without changes like it used to?

    No. It's borked and Apple won't fix it. I solved the issue by running TextEdit 1.6 from Snow Leopard wherein CMD+D works.

  • Changing the default edit icon of interactive reports

    Hi,
    I have tried to look around to find a place to set the default edit icon of interactive reports and I cant seem to find it.
    Another thing is: What would be the best practice to change the icon to a new image that is NOT part of the apex installation? Right now we have 8 icons to choose from, which are all located in apex image library. Its not even located in the theme. So if I just overwrite the current default icon it would be overwritten again next time I upgrade apex.

    Create a style sheet and include it in all required page templates:
    .apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td[headers="LINK"] a img {
      display: none;
    .apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td[headers="LINK"] a:link,
    .apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td[headers="LINK"] a:visited {
      display: block;
      /* Change dimensions to size of your icon */
      height: 18px;
      width: 18px;
      /* Change URL to location of your icon */
      background: transparent url(/i/ws/small_page.gif) no-repeat;
    }This removes the edit icon specified in the IR attributes and replaces it by showing whatever icon you want as a background image on the link element. This allows you to change the icon universally for all IRs by making a simple change to the dimensions/background image URL in one place.

  • Issue changing the Logo on web UI

    Hello all,
    I have an issue where I can't get a new logo to show on our WEB UI skin.
    What i've done so far..
    1, I've created a BSP in se80,
    2, spro > sap ref IMG > CRM > UI framework > UI framework definition > skins > Access Skin Workbench
        Select Nova and copied the Skin to a new Skin with the BSP I created in se80.
    3. On my new Skin - changed the logo.png and logo.gif in all locations, ( I believe the main one is in  'styling/Lshape/Logo.png' )
        The one one that looks like the image I wanted to change was in /_images/logo.gif.
    4. Assigned this Skin to my technical Profile
         spro > sap ref IMG > CRM > UI framework > define Techical Profile > <myprofile>
    5. Ensured my technical profile is specified against my busines Role.
    Saved my work, loaded up the web UI, hit my business Role,
    6. Clicked preferences and checked my Skin was already selected, it was...
    But the image that I replaced is still the original??
    I've been through all the images on my new skin to see if there are any others that are the same as the main SAP logo, which there isn't - I can't understand where its getting it from, (other then the predefined skins)
    Any help or advice on this would be much appreciated!

  • How to change the table's for an existing report

    Hello,
    How can I change the table names for reports created with a different table name? for e.g If I created a report which included a table called "2009_10_example", How can I change that table to a different table "2010_10_example1".
    I am using Crystal reports 2008, and the reports were created using Report Creating Wizard.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek

    In the Database Menu, there is an option Set Datasource Location.  This allows you to pick a table from the current tables used, and select a table to replace it with.  Press the Update button, and Crystal will swap one for the other.  If the field names and data types are all the same, it will automatically change all references throughout the report to the new table's fields.
    May I suggest that your tables are set up improperly if you have to change report code to run it for different months?  The data should all be in one table with dates, and parameters to select the date range to report on.  (That was said in the spirit of helping...)

  • Can we change the background color of a Standard report "column"?

    4.2.1
    Theme 24 - Cloudy
    Hi There,
    I searched this forum and online but did not get a straight forward way to change the color of a standard classic Apex report column. I want the whole columns background color to be blue. I tried some of the suggestions for using span etc, but they did not work.
    Was wondering if anyone has a solution for this? would be very helpful!
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    Use a custom named column report template with <tt>&lt;colgroup&gt;/&lt;col&gt;</tt> and CSS as in these threads.
    Could also be done with JavaScript, but if the entire column is to be coloured (rather than individual cells based on some condition), the template approach will be simpler and have better performance
