Changing time between data samples causes Labview 6.1 to freeze

When using labview to record temperature values from an RTD, labview freezes when I switch the data time interval from 7 seconds, to 10 min. I don't know why this is. Any ideas?

What hardware are you using?
What are you using to set a time interval? If you just say "wait 10 minutes" it may need the 10 minutes before it wakes up and responds to any new clicks. OTOH if you have a loop with say, a 0.1 second loop time and a "are we there yet?" to trigger the next recording, LV can respond to clicks and repaints in .1 second.

  • IPhoto change time and date does not work with Flickr

    Hello everyone,
In my iPhoto librairies, I do change my photo date and time to set them we they were actually taken. Here, I'm refering especially to photos which are:
    * scanned photo
    * stiched photo
    The issue is:
When I share these photo on Flickr, Flickr sort them with the previous date time setting, even if I have selected to change the original file in iPhoto.
So it is painful to end up seeing that all the work done on iPhoto is not reflected elsewhere.
This issue can only be in iPhoto as the old date time should be swapped with the new one.
Let me know when the fixed will be implemented so I stop loosing precious time editing photos!
    Regards,
    Francois

I have an Access Database created with Access 2010 installed on a machine running Windows 8 using the Access 2010 Runtime code. For the most part the database works but all reports that require a date in the header come out with ##error. Works fine
with full access on any other machine. Just this one were we are using Runtime. Any ideas?
Make sure you don't have Date used as a Field Name, as it is a Reserved Word in Access and can cause unpredictable behavior.
Also make sure you have compiled the VBA code, before using the Runtime version.
Have error handling in place, to capture errors in your DB.
    Hope these pointers help,

  • Looking at FOCUS POINTS changes Time and Date

When I select VIEW FOCUS POINTS it changes the Time and Date information in the Metadata. I have seen it happen twice now. The images were taken with a Nikon D90 while in Australia. The first time that I noticed this I was in Hawaii and just looking at the FOCUS POINTS changed the Date and Time to Hawaii time. It happened again in Maryland and the time zone was changed to Eastern Daylight Time. To put the images back in the proper place I have had to change the DATE and TIME.
    Has anyone seen this?
    Roger

    Thanks Tony,
    Did you try this:
Shoot a photo with your camera set to your local time.
Import into your Mac set to the same local time.
    Quit Aperture
    Restart
Set the time on your Mac to another time zone.
    Open Aperture.
    Open the photo.
    View the Focus Points
Then see if the time metadata is changed.
Mine changes and the place of the photo in the line-up of my folder changes.
It still does it after I updated to Aperture 3.0.3 from the 3.0
I know this is a lot of steps in the test process, but this is how it happens for me.
If this doesn't work I'll have to look into a new Nikon for you and a flight to Hawaii.
    Cheers,
    Roger

  • Time between dates excluding Weekends and Holidays

I am fairly new to Power Pivot and I am having trouble with this formula.  I need my Cycle Time Days column to capture the days between CreatedDataTime and ClosedDateTime excluding Weekends and Holidays.  I have a tab that has the holidays but
I can't get the formula correctly?   Jill
    CreatdDateTime        ClosedDateTime     Cycle Time Days
    12/1/2014                    12/10/2014

first of all you need a separate time table which holds all possible dates for your model
there should be no gaps, it should contain full years and a column of datatype DateTime as unique key
once you have this in place add a calculated column to this table as
    =IF(INT(FORMAT([Date], "w")) >= 6, "Weekend", "Workday")
then go back to your original table and add the following calculation for your [Cycle Time Days]-column:
    =COUNTROWS(
    FILTER(
        'Dates',
        Dates[Date] >= DateRanges[DateFrom]
        && Dates[Date] <= DateRanges[DateTo]
        && 'Dates'[IsWeekend] = "Workday"
Holidays are a bit more tricky but you can follow the same pattern but you need to get the holidays from somewhere

  • ECATT: Failure of eCATT Scripts Due To Changed Configuration & Master Data

    Hello,
=> I am using eCATT mainly for the configuration testing. And with the changes in configuration, field sequences as well as changes in screen sequences were observed which were not there during recording time. So all the affected scripts failed.
Again, with the change in master data, which caused extra screen sequences or Messages which were not there during recording time caused the eCATT scripts failure.
As the same server can be used by different projects where the configuration or mainly the master data will keep on changing, how to ensure the success of eCATT scripts.
=> The target system during recording time was different and at the time of execution is different. So both are maintained in the system data container.
Due to some reason, the recording time target system was removed from the system data container. And new target system was specified at execution time. Scripts failed saying that target system of recording time doesn't exist in system data container. This problem was sorted out by adding again the recording time target system in system data container.
What if the server of recording time is not there physically during execution time? Will the eCATT scripts fail as earlier?
If so then how to workout the situation as the number of scripts are too large to change the target system in script itself.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
    >Scripts failed saying that target system of recording >time doesn't exist in system data container.
Please check, if there is really no usage of the "old" target system name anymore. Potential usage could be at some commands or at some command interfaces of disabled commands (meaning "commented" commands).
If you can not find the usage of your old target system which leads to the problem and if you require a solution for that open a sap support ticket.
I think, the whole target system control was also improved from WAS 6.20 to WAS 6.40.
    Best regards

  • How do I change a photos date in iPhoto 11?

I have some old pictures that were not taken on a digital camera. One from 1952, others from 1971 and 1972. IPhoto assigns the date at which they were imported (two were e-mailed to me). I checked how to change a date and time. What I got was as follows:
Choose "photos", "adjust date and time"
OK, but I can type in a month and day, but if I type in 1952, it will not take 4 digits, sometimes only 1 or maybe 2. On the one from 1952, I scrolled up to 1952, but it started at 01, so that was a lot of scrolling. Am I doing something wrong, or is iPhoto effed up?

For incorrect camera dates use the adjust time and date command
For scans and other photos that were not originally digital use the batch change time and date command

  • I want to measure te time between the peaks

I need to measure the time between each peaks (QRS peak) in an ECG waveform continuously and plot on the chart.
Can u please help me with this.

    Hello kok,
Here is an example.  I am using a sine wave instead but it will still work.  Just put in the threshold to be above the itnermediate peaks that you want to ignore but below the peaks you want to get.  The VI will then tell you what location inside of the array the peak occured.  You can subtract each location from each other to find how many elements pass between peaks.  You can then multiply the number of elements between peaks by the amount of time between each sample.  I hope this helps.

  • Max time between log

    Hello,
In LabVIEW DSC 7.1 there was the parameter "maximum time between logs" setting in Configure>>Historical menu.
This parameter has been removed in LabVIEW DSC 8.2.
Is there anything I have to do to force the same "maximum time between logs" behaviour in Labview 8.2?
    Thanks

    Hi !
    Look at the answer here.

  • Best way to capture data every 5 ms (milli-seconds) in the .vi diagram when using "Time between Points, and Small Loop Delay tools" ?

    - Using LabView version 6.1, is there anyway to change the "Time Between Points" indicator of (HH.MM.SS) to only (mm.ss), or to perhaps only (.ss) ?
    - Need to set the data sampling rate to capture every 5 milliseconds, but the defaults is always to 20 or greater; even when the "Small Loop Delay" variable is adjusted down.
    Thank you in advance.

I have no idea what "Time between Points, and Small Loop Delay tools" is. If this is some code you downloaded, you should provide a linke to it. And, if you want to acquire analog data every 5 milliseconds from a DAQ board, that is possible with just about every DAQ board and is not related to the version of LabVIEW. You simply have to set the sample rate of the DAQ board to 200 samples/sec. If it's digital data, then there will be a problem getting consistent 5 msec data.

  • LabVIEW/SignalExpress: How can I automate measuring the time between two pulses?

Hi everyone, bit of a newbie here so please bear with me.
I'm a student at a university conducting a muon decay experiment with an oscilloscope connected to some photomultipliers.  To summarize, if a muon enters the detector it will create a very small width pulse (a few ns).  Within a period of 10µs it may decay, creating a second pulse.  The oscilloscope triggers on the main pulse 5-15 times per second, and a decay event happens roughly 1-2 times per minute.  I am trying to collect 10 hours of data (roughly 1500-2000 decay events) and measure the time it takes for each decay.
I've been able to set recording conditions in SignalExpress that starts recording on the first pulse and stops recording on the last.  The Tektronix TDS 1012 oscilloscope however feeds 2500 points of data from this snapshot into a text file (for use in excel or other software).  Even if I perfectly collected the data, I would have 100,000+ data points and it would be too much to handle.  I don't know how (or if it's possible) to reduce the sample size.
To conclude, using Labview or SignalExpress, I would like to be able to have the software
    1.  Differentiate between the single pulse detections and double pulse decay events
    2.  Record only when two pulses appear on the oscilloscope
    3.  Measure the time between these two pulses and ONLY that to minimize the amount of data recorded.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks!

    Hi wdavis8,
I am not that familiar with Tektronix, but there should be a place in the dialog that you go through when you create the action step to acquire date to specify a sampling rate. That would allow you to reduce the number of data points you are seeing, but may reduce the quality of the data.
If it’s just a matter of that much data being hard to dig through when you have that many points, you could do some analysis on the data after the fact, and then create a new file with only the data you want to look at. For example, you could identify the peaks in the data, and based on the distance between them or the difference in magnitude, selectively write data to a new file.
Here is some information about peak detection in LabVIEW:
    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3770/en/
You could also do some downsampling on the data to get fewer data points:
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-23952
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-28976
Those are just a few quick ideas.

  • How to use "Days to keep historical data" & "Maximum time between logs(hh:mm:ss)

Iam using LabVIEW DSC. Values are being logged continously into citadel.
Is it possible to retain data of just one month and delete the earlier data as fresh data is being logged into citadel?
Is it possible to achieve this feature with "Days to keep historical data" & "Maximum time between logs(hh:mm:ss)" options in the history menu of Tag configuration editor ?

Yes, Days to keep historical data does what you are looking for. After the specified number of days, the old data gets overwritten with new data. So, you always have only the specified number of days' of data in Citadel.
Note: You may sometimes see that old data doesn't get overwritten till after a day or so of your setting (depending on how much data is being logged). This is because Citadel logs in "pages" and waits till the current page it's logging to is full before it starts overwriting the old ones.
You do not have to use the 'Max time between logs' option for this. This option forces Citadel to log data every so-many hh:mm:ss regardless of whether or not the data has changed. Note that this is NOT a way to "log data on
demand". Because, this periodic logging of data would change for a particular tag when its data changes. So, even with this setting all data may not get logged at one shot. Anyways, as I said, you do not have to use this setting for what you're trying to do.

    Khalid

  • I am receiving the data through the rs232 in labview and i have to store the data in to the word file only if there is a change in the data and we have to scan the data continuasly how can i do that.

i am receiving the data through the rs232 in labview and i have to store the data in to the word or text file only if there is a change in the data. I have to scan the data continuasly. how can i do that. I was able to store the data into the text or word file but could not be able to do it.  I am gettting the data from rs232 interms of 0 or 1.  and i have to print it only if thereis a change in data from 0 to 1. if i use if-loop , each as much time there is 0 or 1 is there that much time the data gets printed. i dont know how to do this program please help me if anybody knows the answer

I have attatched the vi.  Here in this it receives the data from rs232 as string and converted into binery. and indicated in led also normally if the data 1 comes then the led's will be off.  suppose if 0 comes the corresponding data status is wrtten into the text file.  But here the problem is the same data will be printed many number of times.  so i have to make it like if there is a transition from 1 to o then only print it once.  how to do it.  I am doing this from few weeks please reply if you know the answer immediatly
    thanking you

    Hello.....
I'm not able to log into Windows Server 2008 r2 server thorugh Remote Desktop connection, receiving below error message.
This issue is with only three servers in the environment
"Remote Desktop cannot verify the identity of the computer because there is a time or date diffrence between your computer and remote computer......"
The date/time is correct on the server when i checked in the console session of the server
Can see below messages in event logs
    Event ID 1014:
"Name resolution for the name XYZdomain.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded."
    Event ID 1053:
The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not resolve the user name. This could be caused by one of more of the following:
    a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller.
    b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).
    Any thoughts ....

    Hi,
Have you tried to connect these three servers with IP address instead of computer name or DNS name?
Check Remote Desktop Connection settings: Option-->Advanced-->Connect from anywhere-->Settings-->Connection Settings-->Select “Do not user an RD Gateway server”

  • Extract Time from date and Time and Need XLMOD Funtion to find the Difference between Two Time.

    X6 = "1/5/15 5:16 AM" & NOW ....................difference by Only Time
    not date
X6 date and Time will be changing, Its not Constant
Dim myDateTime As DateTime = X6
Dim myDate As String = myDateTime.ToString("dd/MM/yy")
Dim myTime As String = myDateTime.ToString("hh:mm tt")
Dim myDateTime1 As DateTime = Now
                Dim myDate1 As String = myDateTime1.ToString("dd/MM/yy")
                Dim myTime1 As String = myDateTime1.ToString("hh:mm tt")
Need to use this function to find the Difference between Two Time. due to 12:00 AM isuue
    Function XLMod(a, b)
' This replicates the Excel MOD function
        XLMod = a - b * Int(a / b)
    End Function
    Output Required
     dim dd  = XLMod(myTime - myTime1)
Problem is myTime & myTime1 is String Need to convert them into Time, Later use XLMOD Funtion.

    Induhar,
As an addendum to this, I thought I'd add this in also: If you have two valid DateTime objects you might consider using a class which I put together a few years ago
shown on a page of my website here.
To use it, just instantiate with two DateTime objects (order doesn't matter, it'll figure it out) and you'll then have access to the public properties. For this example, I'm just showing the .ToString method:
    Option Strict On
    Option Explicit On
    Option Infer Off
    Public Class Form1
    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, _
    ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _
    Handles MyBase.Load
Dim date1 As DateTime = Now
    Dim date2 As DateTime = #1/1/1970 2:35:00 PM#
Dim howOld As New Age(date1, date2)
    MessageBox.Show(howOld.ToString, "Age")
    Stop
    End Sub
    End Class
I hope that helps, if not now then maybe at some point in the future. :)
Still lost in code, just at a little higher level.
Thanx frank, can use this in Future....

  • Measure the communicating time between LabView send out commands and response of instrument

I send a command to a function generator(SRS DS345)using "GPIB Write" via GPIB,to change the frequency of output. And I would like to to measure the time between
initially send out commands and actual response of instrument(frequency change).I have designed a program which contains three sequences, the 2nd one contains "GPIB Write",and the 1st and the 3rd contain "Tick count",then subtract the latter from first one.I think this is not the time that I want...
    What should I do ?
    Thanks!!

If want a more precise and NIST-traceable method of timing a portion of your LabVIEW code. The below VI uses two counters on an E-Series or NI-TIO based device to complete this task.
Download the attached VI and replace the for loop (EVENT TO TIME) with your VI or code.
This example uses the maximum timebase of your device as the source for "simple event counting". Due to counter roll-over, two counters are used in order to be able to time events of short or very long duration. See VI Documentation for more information.
