Changing to a new iMac and Aperture serial not working

Hi,
I have changed from an old imac to a new imac27. I copy all conifuration from old to new, and all is working firna, but Aperture not. Even the app is copied, when trying to run is asking me for serial number. I enter the last I have and is complaning saying I have entered an upgrade serial number and request for original.
The problem now is I do not have anymore the original serial naumber and only the last upgrade.

Brand New iMac and wired keyboard not working

I just bought a new iMac.The wired keyboard seems to work, the mouse is plugged into the keyboard and that works, and I can, somewhat make changes to the volume and other small changes. The ESC key works (I can turn off VoiceOver)but... I can not even get the computer up and going. I can not put in my name or other registration information.
Any ideas if the keyboard has some kind of other settings that I need to turn off. There is no software or anything else in the Mac that I know of. It is brand new and just arrived today.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm so sorry. I know this a bummer. But better to take it back. When you take it in, if they boot it and get it to work, make sure and shut down the iMac, wait about ten seconds and press the power button. Make sure it boots to the Desktop and that your keyboard functions as it should. Just make absolutely sure it works before you bring it back home. In fact, since you could not get through the registration process, perhaps they will go through that with you since had problems with it. Something isn't communicating between the iMac and the keyboard. Could be the USB ports, software/hardware ... hopefully they'll repair it to your satisfaction or replace it.

I do not have any experience with Final Cut, but if you have existing projects that you MUST access; then you are in need of a solution on your new iMac in Mountain Lion!
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. Purchase a used Mac that will run Snow Leopard (with the optional Rosetta installed) and continue to run FCE on that Mac (you can actually use Screen Sharing with a "headless" used Snow Leopard Mac Mini and use the 27" screen from your iMac to view and work FCE in the Mac Mini environment);
2. Upgrade to an Intel compatible version of FCE and hope it converts your existing projects to its newer format correctly. There is much debate that the newer version of Final Cut are eliminating many needed features; for example Final Cut Pro X vs. Final Cut Pro 6 -- many users are staying with version 6;
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels and then install FCE in the Snow Leopard environment:

Preferably your iTunes account, but it shouldn't really matter for getting homesharing turned on, as long as it's a valid ID.

New iMac and iDVD just wont work!

Just got a new iMac and iDVD just wont work, from creating a new project, or opening an old one, or trying to share from iMovie (HD)
If I try to do anything nothing seems to happen and when I close the program a window does appear and from there it just freezes.
Have deleted and reinstalled iDVD, repaired permissions, all up to date in my on software updates...any ideas?

*Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows.*
• Delete iDVD pref file - *or rather start a new user/account* - log into this and re-try
iDVD pref file resides.
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named. com.apple.iDVD.plist
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
Now restart iDVD.
• Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb
• Hard disk is untidy. Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple Disc Util tool)
• Program miss-match. iDVD 5.0.2, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK - DON’T work under Leopard
• Program miss-match. iDVD 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
• Program miss-match. iDVD’08 v. 7.0.1, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
• iDVD (08) v7 Locate theme folder. Move out iDVD1, iDVD 2 and eventually iDVD4 folders to desktop - re-try

Last resort. from Craig. Solved the problem!! Finally!!
I deleted every iDVD application and folder from my boot drive,
emptied the trash and then installed iDVD 08 using the customize option
and I am up and running.
If You do a re-install be sure to get rid of all iDVD old parts AND then EMPTY the Trash-basket !
iDVD updated ?
Apple Codec updated ?
Start a New Clean project - or delete project assets
No of Colors - must be set to millions
EdinSF writes that, The 10.6.3 update with an Open GL fix seems to have taken care of the problem.

Good morning, I installed ios6 on the new iPad and siri will not work. Each time I try to use siri she says "uh oh, I'm having a problem. Please try again. I have tried turning siri off and back on again. Resetting the iPad, resetting the network, turning Airplane Mode off and on again. All to know avail. My iphone 5 works great and so does my wife's iphone 4s with ios6. I have called Apple support but there only suggestion was that the servers were busy. If that was the case my other devices would not work either. Plus the servers wouldn't be busy for four days. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I was looking forward to using siri on the new iPad and other folks don't seem to be having a problem.

Then you need to change your device details as this still says iPad2.
It's very possible Apple's servers have been busy for 4 days as not everyone downloaded iOS 6 on the day it was announced. I downloaded it last Friday, myself, as an example.
There are a millions and millions of people using Apple iDevices.
Just because everything went fine with the iOS 6 updates of your iPhone 4 and 5 doesn't mean something couldn't have gone wrong with an update to your iPad3
If the iOS update missed something during the download, I am not sure how to go about re-downloading iOS 6 to fix the issue you are having.

What do you mean "not working"? That could mean multiple different things.

I was bored but any idea why ITUNES or Winamp won't open a file if I change the extension to m4a to mp3 or vice versa since both programs open both files, isn't the extension only telling which program to run?

No. The extension tells the OS what the file type is.
Changing the extension will not actually change the file but the OS will think it is a different type and it will not work.
Putting a Ferrari logo on your Yugo will not make it a Ferrari.

I can not access FireFox. I re-downloaded a new version and it does not work. It used to work.

How did you install Acrobat, did you install it as a part of Suite installation.
If it is a part of suite then deactivate suite uninstall Acrobat, Reinstall Acrobat using Suite media. Launch Photoshop first and Activate.
Then try launch Acrobat.

New iMac and Aperture not loading .CR2 files? Any ideas?

Hi, I have recently upgraded from a 2009 MBP (running 10.6) to a 27" iMac. What I am finding is that after migrating my applications Aperture will not load/show my CR2 files. It says they are an unsupported format. Any ideas for a solution? These files are stored on an external drive and open fine in photoshop CS5... I have tried installing Camera Raw 6.4.1 updater... PLEASE HELP! Thanks

Reinstalling Aperture may work but as the RAW conversion is external to Aperture (all Apple programs that can work with RAW filles use the same conversion process) I'm not sure it's going to help.
If re-installing Aperture doesn;t fix the problem have a look in /System/Library/CoreServices for two bundles:
CoreTypes.bundle
RawCamera.bundle
Highlight each in turn and do a Get Info. The CoresTypes.bundle showuld be version 301.21 and the RawCamera..bumdle should be 3.9
If you still have the problem post back.
