Use either Format > Font > Capitalization > All Caps or install the free WordService by Devon Technologies.
I wish to write that in fact, only the use of WordService gives a correct result.
Using Format > Font > Capitalization > All Caps doesn't change the characters, it just changes the way they are displayed.
If you copy a group of characters treated with this menu item then paste into TextEdit, you will get lowercase characters.
Its exactly the same behavior than the use of a format applied to number cells or date_time ones.
A cell which display 12:34:56 contains in fact 12 janv. 2008 12:34:56 if it was entered the 12 janv. 2008.
A cell which contain 123.6789 may be displayed as:
123.6789
123.679
123.68
123.7
124
All these displays are perfect.
With computer we must always remember that what we see is not exactly was is stored.
It depends of the applied format.
Back to Word processor, we may apply "All caps", "Small caps" or "Title". The display will change but the contents remains unchanged.
It's completely different of what we where accustomed to with AppleWorks which changed the contents itself when we asked it to apply the format "UPPERCASE".

  • Snow Leopard is changing filenames to ALL CAPS!!

    Hi All,
    This is getting pretty frustrating. For absolutely no apparent reason files names and extensions are getting changed to all caps. This happens in programs ranging from CS3 to Coda. Has anyone come across this is or know of a fix or cause?
    Thanks much

    In addition to Kappy's advice, if the issue is specific to your original user account and not the newly created user account, you can proceed in two ways. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account, move everything on that other account's list from the original account's Preferences folder into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
    The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue.

  • Changing Filenames to all caps

    Ever since snow leopard and now Lion some filenames have been changing to ALL CAPS for no reason whatsoever. Has anyone else had this issue? It happens mainly in Adobe Creative Sweet and Panic's Coda.

  • Seen this question before but no answer, how can I change my email address from all caps into a more proper upper-lower style.

    Seen this question before but no answer, how can I change my email address from all caps into a more proper upper-lower style.

    You should be able to change your e-mail address from your provider ... then edit it to meet the Apple requirements.   Unfortunately you've given us no profile details so we can't tell what device you have.

  • Changing all caps text to lower case in PSE 7 ?

    I have PSE 7.0, and am trying to add text to an image.  When I add the text, and type it in all in
    lower case, the text appears in all capitals, in text layer, and changing
    my keyboard caps lock doesn't make any difference.
    However, in the layers summary box on the right side of  screen, the text appears in lower case - but when I save, or print etc, it always shows in all capitals!
    Does anyone know any more about text editing in PSE 7.0?
    Thanks so much!

    First of all be sure the font you're using has small letters and not just caps. If it does, then click the tiny triangle at the far left of the options bar and choose Reset Tool.

  • Change small caps to all caps (was: Scripting help)

    Hi All
    I am working with an ID script in CS3 and I am trying to write some script (to add to an exsiting scipt that I am using) that will change small caps to all caps for some ID documents I am converting.
    Sorry it's probably very easy to do but I'm fiarly new to using scipts!
    Thanks for any help with this.

    Hi All
    Sorry as I said I'm new to using and writing scripts!
    The script (Java script) I am using was supplied to me by someone else and I am mainly just tweaking it.
    The script is being used to mainly find character and paragraph styles and change them from one style to another.
    As I have a lot of files with quite a few different styles to change the script is saving heaps of time.
    The small caps that I am trying to change are in a character style and I need to if possible change them to normal caps that isn't a character style in most circumstances although there are places where they need to be a certain bold or italic character style.
    The script is mainly using GREP search to find and change the various character and paragraph styles and the script I have tried so far is:
    grep
    {appliedCharacterStyle:"Chapter Small Caps (A+B)"}
    {appliedStyle:"All Caps"}
    {includeFootnotes:true, includeMasterPages:true, includeHiddenLayers:true, wholeWord:false}
    Apply body Text Indent para Style to all.
    The small caps need to be changed in several different character styles.
    I hope this makes it a bit clearer what I'm trying to do

  • Mac keep automatically changing ALL CAPS to lower case in Pages.

    MacBook Pro automaticaly changes all CAPS to lower case in Pages. It will automatically revert and I can't make the CAPS stay, regardless if I hold 'shift' and type or press the 'caps lock' key. Is there a setting where I can disable this feature?

    You have not said where you are copying this from but it sounds like what you have is text that is styled by CSS on a web page or ATSUI (Apple's typographic type engine) to appear ALL CAPS.
    The actual text is actually U&lc or lowercase.
    You can restyle it using:
    Menu > Format > Font > Capitalization > All Caps

  • How do I change all caps to lowercase on Pages 08?

    How do I change all caps to lowercase on Pages 08? Help says to use 'Lower' but I can't find it on the program.

    If you have Pages '08, then you also have Numbers '08, which supports the LOWER() function.
    Copy/paste your text into column B of a Numbers table, starting at B2
    In cell C2, enter the formula =LOWER(B2).
    Fill down to the last row containing text in column B.
    Select the cells of converted text in column C. Copy
    Go back to your Pages document and go Edit > Paste Values.
    Unlike the Pages menu item (in the Format menu), which formats the text to display as lower case, the LOWER() Function does an actual conversion. The function works only in a table. It is probably supported in Pages tables as well as in tables in Numbers, but I haven't checked that.

  • How can I get the Cover Flow text to be in all caps

    I've only had one problem with the Cover Flow application for iTunes. All of my track names, artists, and album names are in caps on my library. When I switch to the Cover Flow view some songs are displayed with all caps, while others have the song and album in caps, but the artist is in lower case.
    I've gone through all of my files and all of them have been correctly entered in all caps, yet Cover Flow still does not display them correctly. I've even gone through every album, got info, and made sure everything was in all caps. Still no succcess.
    Any suggestions?
    How about creating an option button to control Cover Flow's functioning on the next iTunes version? That would be nice.

    Thanks, jere7my.
    In other words, I should always make changes to my song text with the Cover Flow view selected.
    I would never have the Cover Flow view selected while importing new albums, tracks, and artwork. I switched back to it after I was done personalizing my stuff. Thats when I started to notice they were still in lower case, even though I had changed them.

  • All caps display pattern

    Can I make a text field display in "all caps" regardless of how the user entered the text?

    In your script editor, at the top left hand corner, there is a drop-down which allows you to associate scripts with events for a particular field. So, if you have a text field, select it in your form and associate a change event script with it.
    Hope this helps.

  • Text Field All Caps?

    I'm making an application form and prefer some of the fields to appear in all caps when a user types in information. Is there any way to make text fields font all caps? I looked under the font options but can only change the font, make things bold, italicized, underlined and a different size. Thanks!

    There are two methods to convert a field to UpperCase. Both are used on the Exit event, and JavaScript language should be selected.
    this.rawValue = this.rawValue.toUpperCase();
    or,
    var uc = TextField1.rawValue;
    TextField1.rawValue = uc.toUpperCase();
    I hope this helps.

  • HOW DO I TURN OFF "ALL CAPS"?

    I'M WRITING THIS IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I CAN'T TURN OFF ALL CAPS...THE CAPS LOCK DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK. WHAT CAN I DO TO CORRECT THIS? THANKS AND I'M SORRY I'M YELLING.

    I've never seen that happen in the 25 years I've been using Macs, and based on the fullsome description of the events leading up to it on your computer, we have as much clue as you.
    In fact less, because we weren't there when it happened.
    Even your model description "iMac" is so descriptive, I could fill a room with possibilities.
    The usual approach to getting an answer would be to let us know if you had added any new software, changed any settings or preferences, how old your equipment is, what software you were using at the time etc etc.
    In other words clues that might elicit a sensible answer.
    P.
    btw Which card am I holding up to my screen?

  • How can I format a form so that all text entered is "all caps"?

    Thanks in advance for your help. I am trying to format a form so that all text extered is in "all caps". I am using Adobe Acrobat X. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    You can use a custom key stroke script like:
    // custom keystroke
    if(event.willCommit == false) {
    if(event.value.length < 1 ) {
    // set first characater to caps
    event.change = event.change.toUpperCase();
    } // end lentgh less than 1;
    } // end custom keystroke
    And then a custom format or validation script:
    // custom format or validation script
    if(event.value != "" && event.value.substr(event.value.length -1, 1) != ".") {
    event.value = event.value + (".");
    } // not null and end  last character not ".";
    // custom format or validation script

  • ReCapitalizing ALL CAPS Text?

    Surely there's a way to do this.
    It's been a very long since I've needed this function, but I distinctly remember way back when (long before Pages v1), a time when I could select a block of text which had been entered as ALL CAPS (typically something copy/pasted from another source), and reformat it to all lower case, to Title Case, to Sentence case, even to small caps -- whatever I needed to make it consistent with the rest of the document.
    So far I can only get Pages' Capitalization function (via Format > Font >) to work on text which was originally entered in lower case. Any letter which was originally entered using its Shift- Capitalized form seems to be chiselled in cyber-stone.
    PLEASE, please, Please tell me that Pages 2009 is not so powerless that it can't change a capitalized letter into its non-capitalized little brother?
    THANKS -- I mean, Thanks,

    I still wish though that Pages had this kind of thing built-in in a more readily accessible way.
    The jury is still out on whether your wish will be supported in Apple's application model. Apple has specifically sought not to make the intelligence for internationalised imaging a part of the application model, seeking instead to separate the application model from the transform model. This has been opposed by software publishers who make and market software suites, including Adobe and Microsoft. There are two application models / business models for internationalised imaging.
    Apple's model has been to provide a model for the small independent developer of character-glyph transforms (fonts) and colour-colourant transforms (profiles) to make and market intelligence in a plug-and-play manner. The intelligence is in the transform itself, in what is technically termed a transform for determinate, runtime-independent rendering.
    Adobe's and Microsoft's model has been to incorporate the intelligence for internationalised imaging into the software suite intended for a standalone personal computer. The font or profile is in this scenario a client of the software suite and/or the operating system. OpenType and the Windows Color System are intended to work in this way as what is technically termed indeterminate, runtime-dependent rendering.
    The problem with the internationalised drawing models for Unicode imaging and ICC imaging is I suppose political, because if there is no competition between the centralised indeterminate, runtime-depent rendering model for software suites and the decentralised determinate, runtime-independent rendering model then the power of graphic information processing is harnessed to the platforms of particular software publishers.
    I know this is a hippie plot hatched in Cupertino in 1988-89 ... -:)

  • Text tool is stuck in ALL CAPS mode

    I am attempting to create a simple, mostly text logo, and when I attempt to use the TEXT TOOL, the settings seem to be stuck in ALL CAPS MODE.
    I can't even see an option to change the text settings at all -- to adjust anything font-related (aside from what's on the default tool bar). For now, I must resolve this ALL CAPS issue, at the very least; I would also like to adjust any & all other standard font settings, including character spacing, kerning, etc.
    Can someone please point me in the right direction?  Thank you!!

    Okay, head to Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset All Settings.  See if that does any good.  This will have no affect on the content stored on your device.
