Changing to another iTunes (app ID)
Here is my problem. My husband set up my phone using his computer (at the time mine computer was on its last leg) and his apple ID over a year ago. He also has a iPhone. We don't share well and will often get each others stuff and really got all messed up with we did the iCloud....what a headache!!! Anyway I am thinking of changing my phone over to my Apple ID on my new computer. Can this be done with out completely deleting my phone. Does it take everything off appts, calendar, notes etc.... We don't share well and don't listen to the same music so we don't need same account. Just giving me heart palpations thinking it is going to delete my whole phone and I am going to have to start over....Yikes....Help here!!!
I went ahead and opened a new itunes account and synced my phone to it and everything seems fine. I have my apps on there but to update I will have to keep logging into my husband account and update. So I tried removing on his and reloading on mine but I think it is getting messed up because on my phone is still says his account. Is there any where to change that on the PHONE itself.

I have looked in the obvious places for the answer to this question, but clearly I haven't looked well enough. So sorry to bring such a simple thing here, but I just can't find it in the manuals. I live in NZ and have used my iPads, iPhone and iTouch without any drama....purchase from the App Store and I Tunes regularly - all good until today!, not sure why / how but I seem to have changed a setting and when I try to download a movie I get a message that says " Your acct is not valid for purchase in the USA store and you will need to switch back to the NZ store to make this purchase". Id be happy to do this but I can't see how.....please can someone help me out. I really really want to buy this movie and its driving me nuts. Thanks in anticipation .... Tanya

Settings > iTunes&App Stores (or Stores) > Apple ID > View Apple ID > enter password > Country/Region and you can select where to switch to. -
Will changing the location of folders effect how my Itunes will run? As I am runnig out of room fast on my C drive. And have almost a 1 terrabyte of room on the drive I want it to all to go to. I was thinking of just cutting and pasting.

No, but do not simply move files around else you will have a lot of grief...
Do NOT move files then change iTunes prefs to a new location as this will not work.
Quit iTunes.
Copy your entire /Music/iTunes/ folder (and everything inside it) on your C: drive to the E: drive.
Hold Shift and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select the iTunes folder you copied to the E: drive.
That is all you need to do. You do not need to change any other settings. -
i downloaded acdsee camera flash (us$0.99) in Hong Kong's app store, but i cannot find it in the app store after i changed to another iphone. it seems that the app is no longer available in HK, how can I get back the app?
First make sure you are searching the name correctly.
If the app is no longer in the App Store it is no longer available for download. This happens when Apple has found the app violates the agreement with the developer or when the developer no longer wants the app listed in the App Store.
If the app is truly no longer in the App Store your only option is to copy it from iTunes on the computer you normall sync with. -

If can log out of the currently logged in account on your iPhone by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and you can then log in with your new account. Any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, so only that old account can download updates to its apps.

TS1702 Change from one country App Store to another country
How doe one change from one country App Store to another country ????
When I try to change my country in the Account section of the App Store (and the ITunes Store) I receive the message "You have a store credit balance; you must spend your balance before you can change stores."
I am unable to understand the reason for this and can't find a way around this. The amount of credit remaining in my account is less than the price of any App or Song.
I am also concerned after reading other threads that if I change countries, whether the Apps purchased in one country will still be available in the new country.
Some have proposed using credit cards to change the country for the account, but accounts funded through vouchers exclusively should be able to be able to change countries without this requirements.

At this point you have the option of keeping a device optimized version (lower resolution version) of your photo on your phone while iCloud stores a full resolution version. Or keeping the full resolution version on both your phone and the iCloud. If you delete the photo on your phone it will be deleted on the iCloud. I know, bummer. Also it should be noted that the photos app and the library are still in beta and to this point i see why. I would use dropbox or a smiliar app for off device storage.
So far this is how it has been working/not working for me. Whether or not I choose to keep originals or optimized on my phone it will only keep the originals and it has only been uploading lower resolution versions of my photos to the iCloud library. Seems to be working in reverse.
Again these are still in beta so i am hopeful that this will be fixed in the near future.

Help! I have a new iPhone 5s. My husband just lost his 4s, so I want to give him my 4s. We want to use same Apple ID so we both have access to itunes/apps purchases. Want to separate contacts, messages, mail, etc. I cannot change iCloud address on 4s iPhone. Also, when I tried to change iMessage I got a message that if I deleted my id (which seemed to be the only way to get my husband's I'd there), I would not be able to receive iMessages on any device.
Would someone kindly tell me how to set up th 4s for my husband so that we can keep our info separate? It would be most appreciated! Thanks!!Hey Fagen!

I would just follow the instructions from this article to give your unused 4s to your spouse. Since you have already started using your 5s, you will still be receiving iMessages on that phone and will have no need to receive them on a device that has been replaced. I recently upgraded my computer from Windows XP to Windows 7. Now my Itunes library is no longer available? When I try to sync my IPod or Iphone 4 to ITunes, it states that the content on my devices belong to another Itunes Library and do I want to transfer purchases, erase etc?
How do I get my old Itunes Library back? Some of my music are from CD's I own and really don't want to start the years of building my Itunes library all over again?

Confused.The ipod/iphone/ipad are not backup sotrage devices.
Certainly you did not upgrade your computer without making sure that your backup copy of your computer was up to date. Just use your backup copy of your computer to put everything back. -

You need to Copy the iTunes from the Other computer or its Backup, to your New computer.

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

I've a few issues, my old computer was out of memory. I changed to a new one which already had another itunes account (for my business) when i upgraded to os5 my library has dissappeared as it has syncd with the new computer. Is there any way i can restore the information previously from my ipad? really appreciate any advice thanx in advance

If you still have the old computer, you should be able to connect the iPad, run iTunes and restore from a backup from a previous sync. Now that you have it updated, you will not need to do that again.

I have created another iTunes library (so I have 1 for an ipod touch and a separate 1 for an iPad), but the apps from the iPad appear in both libraries. How can I stop this so the 2 libraries are completely separate? Thanks
You don't need two separate libraries to manage two devices.
I suspect the reason that the apps are appearing in both libraries is that you have enabled automatic downloads in iTunes and automatic syncing of apps so that all your purchases end up in both libraries, defeating your original aim.
Why not use a single library and make playlists for the media content you want on each device? Disable Settings > Store > Automatic Downloads > Apps on each device, then connect each device in turn and turn off Automatically Sync Apps on the Apps page.
You can now manage your devices independently, while only having to manage the content of one iTunes library, instead of two.
