Changing to iMac

Question

I'm upgrading to a new iMac and I am aware that my previous Appleworks will not work. Does anyone know if the iWork will open those old apps?

I have not tried it myself but you can open them in MS Word as text only(recover text from any file). The problem is at that point all the formatting is lost and you basically have to fix the formatting and re-save it as a word document. I imagine the same may hold true with Pages. However I did find this;

With this I did try and open a really old Appleworks file in Pages 08 and it told me the document was created with an unsupported version of Appleworks.
