Changing tracks with new Asset

Hey,
I'm not sure if this is possible...But I have made up my dvd with a bunch of short films using the largest compression possible, planning to make a dual layer dvd. My boss however, wants just a regular dvd... I have recompressed all the films and now have new assets that I would like to swap over with the larger files.
I was hoping there was a way to do this without having to re-do all the track connections?

Missing tracks with new firmware 2.11

I'm guessing that I can't be the only person on here who has had trouble managing the music on their Zen Touch after upgrading to 2..0, but I can't find any posts that mentions it. IMO the new firmware is terrible in the way it changes the way Mediasource shows the music on your player and even if you use Windows Media Player or the Windows Explorer type utitily the system of folders is rubbish as well.
Has anyone had issues with whole albums missing or ID3 tracks not showing correct information since moving to the latest firmware? When i connect my player to my PC I have a few albums which show on my PC as being on the player but when I'm using the player regularly when I'm out and about the albums are missing.
One other request. Can you guys tell me how you are transferring music to the player now? I would be interested to know if you do it through Mediasource or via copy and paste using explorer? If you do the latter where exactly do you put the music? Do you put it in the music folder under "media", and also do you put the artist folder in there or just dump the albums in there?

I could not believe how much of a **bleep** up the team at Creative had made upon installing the firmware update. Im not at all happy with the fact that it is not reversable either... It really blows ey mate?

Unable to play m4p tracks with new QuickTime 7.1.6 on Vista?

Running Windows Vista and upgraded to the latest iTunes 7.1.1.5 + QuickTime 7.1.6 today and now I cannot play any purchased m4p (iTunes store) tracks from Quick Time (I only hear silence). Note, I can play these m4p tracks directly in iTunes. Further, if I uninstall QT 7.1.6 and revert back to QT 7.1.5 then it works okay.
Any one else have this problem on Windows Vista?

On my old machine, a 1.6 GHz P4 running XP with 512 meg of RAM, video play deteriorated markedly with iTunes 7, from quite good to basically unviewable. When I checked, my machine did not meet the minimum requirements for video, where are for a "2 GHz Pentium class machine".
I tried going back to the older version of iTunes but that did not bring my video back. In retrospect, I think I probably did not un-install Quicktime before re-installing the older version of iTunes.
The problem I'm having now is a different one on a new HP Pavilion Vista machine.

Unable to change tracks on my stereo after upgrading to iOS 6

After upgrading to iOS 6 yesterday I've noticed a problem playing my music through Bluetooth on my Alpine car stereo. It still plays but I am unable to change tracks with the stereo, I have to manually do it on my iPhone. This is a problem, any ideas?

I spoke to a rep at Alpine today. They are aware that there are major issues with the release of iOS 6 and ALL their products. The said they will have to do a firmware update and he had no idea when that would be available.
Not good as I bought a new unit yesterday ! It workd great driving home and this morning no iPhone interface would function properly. I updated my OS last night. And I cannot go back to OS 5 I am told by Apple people.
I love Apple products but I must say I do not like their "we know best" attitude when it comes to deciding what OS I should run on my iPhone. I would much rather have OS 5 and let my iPhone work with my stereo.
Hopefully this firmware update will not take too long but I know there is no way it will be right away. The Alpine rep said his phone started ringing off the hook at 8 am from Alpine techs all over the country !
So clearly this was news to them.

Change Tracking many tables

Hi,
I have a number of tables that are all related in some way or another. Lets say there are 20 tables in total here. I need to track changes as they all ultimately will need their changes sending to some other remote database.
Is it ok for me to use just a single change version, obtained at the beginning of my synchronisation code, within a SNAPSHOT transaction for every table I'm concerned about?
I would also need to validate the change version used before getting changes for each table using CHANGE_TRACKING_MIN_VALID_VERSION wouldn't I?
Once I have obtained all the changes for the 20 tables, then I would commit my transaction.

The thing is, there is a LOT of overhead to tracking many tables. It is a seductive idea, but you may not realize the full cost in complexity and overhead.
Have you looked at using replication instead? It's not that much cheaper, but it may at least be easier.
I think you are confusing Change Tracking with Change Data Capture. SDA is talking about the former.
I am not sure that I fully understand SDA's question, but, yes, a single snapshot transaction sounds right. (For Josh: Change Tracking is best used with snapshot isolation.) Particularly, if you want to retrieve changes that are consistent with each
other.
I am a little worrried abotu "single change version", since the version number for each table will be different. (Or at least they can be.)

We can not able to deploy the change tracker through SDM as it is asking for the dependencies are missing.
Portal version EP 7.0 EHP1
MDM version 7.1 sp 5.
we have followed the below link for deploying
MDM change tracking with MDM 7.1 SP06 & EP version u2013 CE 7.2 SP01? but after downloading the MDM_WEB_UI from market place it is asking for 24+ dependencies for change tracker.
so please suggest.

Two new SCs in the same track - with dependencies

Hello Guys,
We are going to create an NWDI track with two new Software Components.
1. SC for Services (let us call it SC-A)
2. SC for UI Content (let us call it SC-B)
These are going to be brand new SCs created in SLD and imported into one NWDI track for starting the development.
SC-B is going to be dependent on SC-A.
(SC-B will use various services provided by SC-A which will be made available via public parts).
I will create the SCs in SLD and define the necessary dependencies accordingly (between SC-B and SC-A).
I will then create the track with the above two SCs as developed Software Components.
Initially at the check in stage, I will not have any sources (SCA files) for the above two software components itself (since
they are brand new - without any code yet). However, I will checkin the other required SCAs (JEE, JBUILDT, JTECHS, .. ).
My concerns / questions are:
1. Can we do the development on both the software components in parallel?
2. Let us say, I created a DC with name DC-A in SC-A (via a NWDS activity) and after checking that activity in and activating my changes,
I created another DC with name DC-B in SC-B which uses DC-A from SC-A, would this be a problem?
3. In question 2 above, do I have to take care of the dependencies in a different way ?
(when compared to having both the used DC and USing DC in the same SC)
4. Can I add more SCs into the same track (which will probably use both SC-A and SC-B) in the future ?
I believe that this is going to be just fine but I am a little confused around the initial "check-in" of the requires SCAs into the track.
Also, we are going to spend a lot of time in the development system itself and it would be nice to work in parallel on both the SCs.
(The assembly of the above said SCs is only going to happen after a few months of development effort).
I also understand that we can have the two SCs in separate tracks but we really want them in the same track and be able to work on them in parallel.
Please throw some light in this area ...

To your questions:
1. Yes.
2. No, make sure to sync you used DC's on DC-B.
3. No, this is a legitimate SC-DC architecture.
4. Yes, but for "future" projects you probably want to use new tracks.
You should check-in the required SCA's AND import them in development.
You can work parallel on both SC's.
You better use one track as assembly/deployment will be on the same date, otherwise you need track connections (either a repair, which needs a NWDS-release of perhaps not tested functionality, or a transport, which needs a complete & approved SC-A, is it?).
Let me just say: I have the same architecture and it works fine for me.

Garageband 10.0.1 New track with duplicate settings is not allowing effects in

When I use the "New track with duplicate setting"
It will not allow effects on that new track that was created.
If I just create a new track with the + button it is fine.
The problem is I have already recorded all the tracks and the artists have all gone home.
Anyone know of a work around till this gets fixed?

How to export STP tracks WITH edits, names, changes, envelopes back to FCP?

I sent my fcp sequence/movie to a STP multi-track project. Sweetened and edited my audio tracks in STP. All good. Now I need to export those changes back to my FCP sequence, NOT as long AIFF files, but with all the audio files that make up those tracks, with their cuts, handles, file names, and STP changes and envelopes, so that I can access them in FCP (where I must finish the project). It seems like the program should have been designed to do this... but I am hitting a brick wall. Please help. How can I achieve this?
I used conform, but it only seems to conform the STP project, NOT the FCP project to the new audio edits. I do what the manual says.
I tried exporting all tracks to AIFF and to open it within the FCP sequence, but it only gives me the option to open as a new sequence. The result is that the image sequence is correct, but the audio from STP is in long tracks with no edits, no file names, no envelopes, no handles.
Unfortunately I MUST finish my project in Final Cut Pro, and export OMF files for work in a professional FILM (not video) audio facility. They cannot use AAF files exported from STP. And STP doesn't export OMF files. It is NOT an option for me to finish my sound work in STP because of the film-specific facility where I must finish my soundtrack- which in the end goes to optical for use on a film reel.

That's one of things you simply cannot do. Conform is as close as it gets. But, you cannot export a STP in to FCP and maintain all the track info like you can the other way around. Part of the problem is that STP is referencing audio tracks FROM media crated in FCP. You'd have a situation where FCP is referencing audio from STP . . . that's referencing FCP audio. It doesn't work that way.
It's too bad the facility can't use the AAF file. That's the only real option.

In BI 7.0,
we cannot add a characteristic to an existing dimension if the data is not deleted from the cube.
It can go to a new dimension and that will not change the existing structure of the cube tables, but will just add to it (as another dim table). or use remodeling.
