Changing UI Labels for ViewCriteriaItemCompound

Hi all,
I am using a named ViewCriteria in an <af:query/>. In the named ViewCriteria, I have a query attribute inside a ViewCriteriaItemCompound. Inside the ViewCriteriaItemCompound, I have two ViewCriteriaItems.
This query attribute appears twice in the UI.
My question is how to change the individual Label of the two ViewCriteriaItems of the query attribute?
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.5.0
Thanks,
A.

Hi,
I don't think you can do that.

  • Trying to change the labels for some UI elements

    hi,
Problem:  I am trying to change the labels for some UI elements and transport the views from one server to another server.
the lables show changed in the source server but the changes dont reflect in the destination server
Kidly help me to slove this problem

    Hi Sharad
    The process is as explained:
    1.     Firstly, go to the respective view, and to the Label and then delete the Label Text as
mentioned in the attribute u2018TEXTu2019 of the Label in the view.
    2.     Next, Activate the View, if it asks for a change request, please assign it to a new TR.
    3.     Finally give the Label text again and then Save it and activate it.
    4.     Further transport the request to ECP and find the difference.
This especially happens when we frequently change the WD Component and embedd it entirely in the Transport.
I hope this information would be of a great help to all of us.
    Ponts if helpful.

  • Changing field label for standard select option

    Hi All,
I need to change the label for one of the standard select option for the custom report category.
the field is PNPSTAT1 - original label is - Customer-Specific Status - which i need to change as per customer requirement.
Can anyone tell me the way i can do it so that it can be viewed with correct label not only on the selection screen but in further selections mode as well.
    Regards,
    Raunak

    Dear Raunak,
If you have standard select option for standard selection screen:
create a implicit enhancement for any standard program and wrote the below code at the end of the program and it is working..
    INITIALIZATION.
    %_s_PNPSTAT1%_app_%-text = 'ANY LABEL'.
If you have custom report select option, go to above Ravikiran's procedure.
    Best of luck.

    Abbas.

Thanks Vivek, your answer was very helpful, however that's only to change the application description that goes in ESS overview screen, i want to change the labels that appear within the webdynpro application.
For intance, change the label "Absense Type" by "Type" only.

  • Easy way to change field label for all UIs?

How would a customer change a field label for all UIs that use this field/attribute, which is not really a translation?
What I was able to find seems to be that we would need to edit Resource Bundles and that it will be much easier in Release 8:
    1. Section More on Resource Bundles in https://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/translating_your_customizations has this key passage:
This is an industry open standard (OASIS) format XML file with the extension .xliff, and store translated values for the strings used by ADF at run-time. The general process is that these values are exported from the MDS repository, manually edited, and then imported back in again. This needs to be done by an administrator, via either WLST commands or through Enterprise Manager as per the screenshot below. This is detailed out in the Fusion Applications Extensibility Guide.
    2. That blog posting also says this will get easier in Release 8:
Currently planned for Release 8 is something called the User Interface (UI) Text Editor. This tool will allow the editing of all the text shown on the pages and forms of Fusion Application. This will provide a search based on a particular term or word, say “Worker”, and will allow it to be adjusted, say to “Employee”, which then updates all the Resource Bundles that contain it.
    3. I found the video How To Customize Field Labels but it seems that is one UI label at a time...

    Hi vedette and Uchiha.
while we cannot talk here about features of future releases, rest assured we are working on material that will help you understand and use the functionality, from official documentation to blog posts and videos.  Please keep an eye on your blog at https://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel and our Youtube channel at http://youtube.com/FADeveloperRelations -- as soon as R8 becomes publicly available you can expect to find useful information on those sites, among them a blog post that summarizes new features that are important for developers and then more indepth coverage.

  • Changing field labels for JP29

    Hello friends,
In transaction JP29 there are several field labels I want to change. I think I have to go to the MARA table and make the changes here, but I'm not sure where to do this.(trans se11 -> utilities-> database Utility?) In the test-system the labels are correct, but in production they are different, so I guess I have to make the changes in the production system?... I would appreciate any comments...

  • Changing field labels for multiple people.

I am quite new to applescript, so please bear with me.
I am just looking for a script to change a groups phone label to mobile. If anyone could point me in the right direction, or even give me a simple script, it would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't tested this (not quite brave enough), but I'd expect the script to look something like:
    tell application 'Address Book"
-- get the people in the group
set thePeople to every person of group "GroupName"
     -- iterate through them
     repeat with eachPerson in thePeople
      -- get their phone numbers
set thePhones to every phone of eachPerson
-- and iterate through the phones
      repeat with eachPhone in thePhones
       -- set the label appropriately
set label of eachPhone to "Mobile"
      end repeat
     end repeat
    end tell
Note this does mean if someone has multiple phone numbers they'll all be labelled 'Mobile'. I don't know how you want/expect to address that.

  • Document set change field label for "Name"

    Hi,
is it possible to change the field names without changing the NewDocSet.aspx form?
I'm want to change the field "Name" to something else.
    Thanks,
    Peter

This is a very common question, and generally addressed by core ECM/Governance, where the users will view the name of Content Type and accept that the Name is the name of the content.
In undertaking split testing for multiple clients, I found that an overwhelming number of users easily accepted and preferred that the field was left as Name since the Content Type provided the context (Ex. if the Content Type is named Matter,
implicitly you would not need to repeat by having a field named Matter Name since the user knew that they were providing the name of the Matter).
This is a similiar situation as "Title" for a document. If I upload a document and select the appropriate Content Type such as "Summons", I know that I am providing the title of a summons document.
The challenge is not so much technical, but one of core ECM principles for context. I would flush out your Content Types so that they provide the description (ex. Matter, Summon, Pleading, Memo, etc.) and then the "Name" or "Title" fields do not become
a barrier since the user knows that when they select "Matter" as their Content Type, they are entering the "Name" for that "Matter File".

  • How do I change the text on a label for a SAP delivered WD view

    Hi,
I need to change the text that is being displayed for a label in a SAP delivered WD ABAP View. When I look at the properties for this label, the Text property is currently empty, so I assume that the text that is being displayed in the view is coming from the dictionary. I was hoping to change the text of the label via the Enhancement Framework. I created an OTR entry, then went into SE80 for the WD Component, I navigated to the view in question, I pressed the Enhance button and entered $OTR:<package>/<alias name> in the text property for the label. Finally I saved and activated and was prompted to create an Enhancement Implementation, which I did and I selected it. Everything seems to be fine (no errors or warnings). I then ran the WD application. My change was not there. I then went back into SE80 for the WD Component that I created the enhancement. I navigated to the View and looked in the text property of the label and saw that my change was not there. I repeated this process several times and each time when I added the OTR entry to the text property of the label, it saves and activates without issue (in enhancement mode), but when I run the WD App the change does not show up and when I go back to the WD View, my change to the text property is gone. I know that if I really wanted to I could register the object and add the OTR entry to the text attribute of the label, but I am trying to perform this change using a modification free enhancement. Can this be done via an Enhancement, or do I have to register the object and make my change using a modification?

    Hi Gregg,
excellent question. I had the same problem as well before.
What I have learned is that you cannot change a UI Element via Enhancements.
You can add new UI Elements (e.g. new label) or remove existing elements, but you cannot change them (except the layout properties (e.g. colspan) maybe).
The only possibilities I see is
    1. Remove the existing label, and add a new label with your desired text
    2. Do it as a modification
    3. Do it as a configuration (This means you go to the webdynpro application in SE80, right click and select "Create/Change Configuration)
    4. Do it as customizing (This means you add the URL parameter sap-config-mode=X to the URL, navigate to the label, right click on it, and select "Change Settings for Current Configuration").
The disadvatages of 3) and 4) are
    - texts in configurations and customizing are not translatable (as far as I know)
    - if you have multiple configurations, you have to change the label multiple times
    Hope this helps a bit,
    Daniel

  • Dynamically Changing Labels for Multi Row Block Buttons

Forms [32 Bit] Version 9.0.4.1.0 (Production)
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production
On my local: Windows 7 OS
I am having a difficult time in doing the following in forms, and not sure if it can be done?
I have a multi row block, based on DB table, which displays filename and another column from the table.
It also has a push button on each row, which opens and displays the physical file from its source, when clicked. The filename thus can have 3 diff statuses depending on its sources and accordingly corresponding button should display appropriate label:
    a) View Image (its is in content server and successfully imaged. In this case I display the file in the browser, from the content server, when the button is clicked)
    b) View File (Display the file from file system)
    c) View Error (Display imaging error message from the table, as file failed to make it to the imaging server)
I have this logic currently coded in the post query trigger, at the block level, and tried using set_item_property(button_id, label, <button_lable>), where I programmatically set the button lable, based on the file status (imaged, not imaged or has error) in that row. This wroks well, only if all the files in the multi row block have the same status. If each of them have diff statuses, then only last processed files's status gets reflected into the button label. For eg: The file in the first row of the block is imaged, and one in the second row has an imaging error. The button label for the first row should say 'View Image' and button for the second row should say 'View Error'. But now buttons for both the rows display 'View Error', as thats what got processed last!
I __can not use set_item_instance property for 'label'__ (which lets us dynamically change the label on the push buttons).
Is there any way to do this for ORacle forms? I am now playing with having 3 diff button items in that block, laying them on top of each other and showing only those that are appropriate and hiding the others... But I am not sure it is going to give me what I need? I think I am going to end up facing the same issues as in above case!!
Any expert advice is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time:

<p>I have just updated this existing PJC, that was originally constructed to handle Text Fields. You can, now, also handle buttons with it.
Set the Button's Implementation Class property to : oracle.forms.fd.MultiButton.

  • I cannot find how to change the language for labels in a quiz

I cannot find how to change the language for labels in a quiz

You have to be aware that this will only change labels if you edit before adding quiz slides: Preferences, Quiz, Default Labels. You will have to edit the labels, choosing another language will not change them automatically.

  • Can't change the label text for the first time of  loading

I have some problem to change the label text in the prerender method.
I put a label on the form and set the text value to "Customer" on the text properities , and I would like to change the lable text to "Supplier" in the prerender method, I found some strange behaviour.
If I type nothing on the label text of the properties , I can change the lable text on the prerender method on the first time of the form load .
If I put something on the label text of the properties , the text label can't be changed on the first time of form loaded, the lable can be changed if I refresh the form or reload the form.
Could anyone help me to solve this kinds of problem ?
    Thanks

This is a tough one to explain. Here is one explanation from the Delving Into Components tutorial:
As with the JavaServer Pages implementation, when the server constructs a page from JSP source, the tag attribute settings in the JSP source take precedence over runtime settings. For example, if you set the text property for a Static Text component to "moon," the IDE adds text="moon" to the Static Text component's tag in the JSP file. Even if the page's prerender method has a staticText1.setText("sun") statement, the Static Text component shows "moon" when the application renders the page. If the page is rerendered, the staticText1.setText("sun") statement takes affect and the Static Text component shows "sun." If you visit another page and come back, the server once again constructs the page from the JSP source, the values set in the JSP tag attributes take precedence, and the page displays "moon."

    Hi Han,
    here my corrections:
    1.
I would use the filename "mylabels_cn.properties" and not "mylabels_zh_CN.properties"
    2.&3.
This is the SP2 way for using the bundle files for properties. For NetWeaver you need to create a new PAR-file with the bundle file including the labels and translations as described <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/65/6fc63ed4027f6be10000000a114084/frameset.htm">here</a>.
It's very easy if you use the example PAR file provided by SAP in SAP Note 817876, as mentioned in the referenced link (Prerequisites section).
Read carefully the process in the link and try again. If you still experience problems, come back with the new detailed description.
    Hope this helps,
    Robert
