Changing view permanently for all playlists

Howdy!
I'm going to ask this question again:
How do I
1. change the order of columns and the selection of columns in the playlist view;
2. make the changes permanent
3. have the changes include column resizing; and,
4. make the changes effective for all playlists but only do it once?
I don't need to see some columns and want to see others, and I want to see the same columns each time I open a playlist -- any playlist -- and I don't want to be continually fiddling with the column headers and sizes.
Surely I can do that. I mean, this is an Apple product, right?

Hello,
AFAIK, 4. cannot be done, but the first three should happen automatically.
Whatever you do to a playlist is supposed to stay that way.
To reorder columns, just drag and drop, to select which columns you see, right-click the column bar and select.
Hope this helps.

How can I change view options for ALL playlists? With one single click or trick?
I have a lot playlists and don't want to change every single one of them separatly.
Thanks for your help. (I use Windows 7)

There's no FAST way I know of, which is what I think you mean.
Only the painful SLOW way of one-by-one.
You could make a new playlist from the main library after you've set the columns up as you like.
Go to an existing playlist that doesn't have the columns you want, and select all.
RIght-click > Add to Playlist and send them to the new playlist.
That's still one-by-one and only works with static playlists, not smart ones.

  • Changing View Options for ALL Playlists together

This question has remained without simple answer in spite of being asked many times. I think that I have an answer, the procedure is the following:
    (1) Open the "source" iTunes Library
    (2) File/Library/Export Library…          Save the list of Playlists
    (3) Close the "source iTunes Library
    (4) Create a new "destination" iTunes folder
    (5) Import one (or more) song from a CD
    (6) Select Music on top of the LIBRARY window
    (7) View/View Options…                               Set the View Options as desired
    (8) File/Library/Import Library…          Import the list of Playlists saved in (2)
    (9) Remove the auxiliary song(s) introduced in (5)
In the "destination" iTunes folder, the View Options of ALL playlist are those set in (7), irrespective of what they were in the "source". This works using iTunes 10.5 on an Intel iMac runing OSX 10.6.8, and presumably also with other configurations.
Any simpler, faster, or less memory greedy solution?

I'm not sure about a PC, but with a Mac you hold down the Control key and click on the right-most column's title bar. A menu of columns shows up with your current columns having check marks beside them. Just check or un-check the ones you want. To resize a column, click on the thin vertical line that separates the columns' names. Your cursor should change to a two-way arrow when you move across the adjustment line - just like in a spread sheet. Just click on the line and drag its width to suit you.

  • How do I set view options for all playlists at once?

    Hello,
I want to able to set the view options for all my playlists at once (to include BPM, category etc). Currently you can only do this individually for each playlist.
Surely there is an easier way?

    1 - No
    2 - Using iTunes, no.
However this script will do what you want .

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.
    *Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    *NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
You need an extension like CTR to restore the Add-on toolbar if you have an extension that uses this toolbar.

How can I change the background of a running webpage on my own. Example Facebook I want to change its background color from white to black just in my view, not for all. • How can I change the duration for all clips in iMovie 10.2

How can I change the duration for all clips in iMovie 10.2?  I'm used to working in the older version of iMovie where all I had to do was click on the gear on the clip and change the duration. ALso could use the tool bar to set the duration for all clips. Can't figure out how to do that in this new version. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In the timeline select the clip whose duration you want to change. Click the adjust button at the top of the viewer and then click the i button and you can set the duration. For multiple clips select them all and in the i button type in the duration you want and it will be applied to all the selected clips. You can also change the duration of a clip in the timeline by putting the cursor over the beginning or end of a clip and dragging. A popup will show the new duration.

  • Finder View Options, For All Sub Folders

If I understand how View Options work in Finder windows ...
I can set View Options for a particular folder to always open up in a particular View Options setting.
I can set that very same View Option as the Default View Option for all the rest of the folders I open up.
But, what I would like to do is set the View Options for a folder and all it's sub folders to be the same. Without changing the default View Option for the rest of the folder I open up.
    For example.
I like to have my Documents open up in List View.
I like to have my Photos open up in Icon View. (along with certain Icon View Option settings)
Is there a way to do this?
Can I set the directory and all sub folders/directories for all my photos to open up the way I would like them? Without having to change the way all my Document folders/directories open up?
Because the way it seems to work now, is that every time I create a new folder in my Photos directory/folder, I have to manually set the View Options, since the default is List View and not Icon view. If I change the default to Icon View, then any new folder/directory in my Documents will then open up in Icon View.

If the folder is not set to open in a specific view, it should open in the same view as the containing folder. When using mixed views, you need to open the folder in another window to get the view it previously had.
In your example, setting Documents to always open in list view and Photos to always open in Icon view should have any new sub folders open in the same view. If any existing sub folders have a different view, you will need to manually change the view, since the Finder will (usually) keep track of the view any particular folder has.

  • HT5787 Change apple id for all purchased apps...

I want to change apple id in my iphone as my old apple ID's password is not working. Please help me. I want to change apple ID for all new and old purchases.

Have you tried logging out an back into that account on your phone (tap on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store), and/or tried getting the password reset for it : http://iforgot.apple.com (if you do get the password reset then you might need to logout and back into it) ?
If you create a new account then that will work for new purchases, but all of your existing downloads will remain tied to your old account, so only your old account will be able to redownload those purchases and/or download updates to its apps.

So, i have bad news for you : you'll have to rebuild again.
Meanwhile i have excellent news for you : there's an online tool made by Johannes Henseler called Sidecar xml which builds the necessary xml file for you, sort of what you find in the Digital Publishing Folio Editor website, but saves it in your Folio folder.
Next time you import all your folder (with that file), it will place all the necessary information, and even reorder the articles.
    Build once, play many times.

When I look on the device Apple TV in iTunes, everything I have streamed to apple TV from iTunes is grayed out but when looking at the photos tab which I have synced is not grayed allowing me to change whatever I want to sync. Is this different to yours? or I'm I misunderstanding your point.

  • How to change application action for all Firefox users?

    Hi,
Is there any way I can change application action for all FF users. I am using Firefox admin 0.5.9.3 and deploy FF 3.6 through GP.
    Thanks

You can change the system colors based on the system you are logging on to.  We have many users here doing that. (Red for prod, Green for Dev, etc)  You cannot use the Sap signature Design theme as it does not allow color changing.  I explained this in another post and how to change it.
Re: Set Color for several system with sap gui 7.20
To answer your question on how to change this for ALL users... That I cannot answer as our user base differs and they change it as they wish.  Hope this helps.

  • ITunes Show View Options - Display an option for all playlists in one go??

    Hi there
Ive got about 200 playlists and need to show the same option for each (BPM).
How can I tell iTunes to display the BPM in ALL playlists in one go?
I can't manually select it from
    View
    Show View Options
    Tick BPM
    Close Show View Options
on all 200 playlists, it would take far too long.
    Any help?
    Thanks

iTunes does not provide a way to do that.  When a playlist is first created, it inherits the "View" from how the Music library is set at that point in time.  From then on, changes to its View settings are independent of all other playlists.
There may be a script somewhere that helps.  Otherwise you have to do them one at a time.
It can however, be done with fewer clicks than you state.  Right-click any column header (preferably the one to the left of where you want BPM to show) and click the item "Beats Per Minute."

  • Want same list view for ALL playlists

Is there some way to make a preset -- or in some other way -- have ALL playlists with the SAME categories that are in the SAME positions in the list? (I can see that the list view is first determined when you create a playlist. For the ones already created, how do I change them so that all are identical to my preferred layout? Thanks!

I believe this should do the trick:
iTunes Preferences > General tab > Uncheck "Remember view setting for each source"
