Changing viewing area

How do you "shrink" the width of the inspector window? The arrow that appears will only widen the inspector area. I would like to adjust the width of inspector therefore widening the viewing area.

Does it keep the larger size, even after quitting and relaunching Aperture?
Then your Aperture Preferences file may be corrupted.
I'd suggest to remove the Preferences file
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist
from your User Library to the Desktop.
Quit Aperture and log off and on again before removing this file.
Then try, if now your Inspector panel has the correct size, when you relaunch Aperture.
If it does not fix the problem put the preferences back. For after removing the preferences, you will have toreset all settings from the "Preferences" panel.
Your user ibrary is hidden in MaxOS X 10.7 or later.
To unhide it, use the Finder's "Go" menu.
Click somewhere on your empty Desktop to bring the Finder forward, then click "Go" in the Finder's main menu bar.
Then hold down the options key ⌥ until "library" appears in the drop down menu. Click "Library" to open.

Timeline frame display disappears when viewing area bar changed

I'm trying CS4 and one of the frustrating things compared to Pro 1.5 is when I change the zoom using the viewing area bar all the frames that were displayed disappear and the only way to bring them back is to click in the area where they should be. In 1.5 the frames would disappear while the bar was being moved, but would be redrawn when the mouse button was released. Why doesn't the bar behave like this? The zoom slider does the right thing but is far too coarse.

When the # prompt has appeared, type in the first line exactly as posted, and then press Enter. If the command worked properly, another line containing root# will appear below it without any intervening line. Type in the next two commands in the same manner. The fourth command will not produce a root# line when properly executed; instead, the text screen will disappear and the machine will continue starting up.

My Viewing area only shows one photo at a time now :(

Yesterday I noticed that my viewing area only shows one photo at a time. It used to display thumbnails of all the photos in the selected event - or library. Now, I'm forced to scroll down and view them one at a time or go into edit mode to see some thumbnails across the top of the screen.
Did I accidently do this? Was it part of an OS update? (I've been away for a month and just don't think I did anything to cause a change...) Can anyone tell me how to view all the thumbnails in the viewing area again?
I'm using iphoto 08 version 7.1.5 (378)

Changing viewing size

When I put a photo in slideshow it automatically resizes the viewing area. I am wondering if there is any way to control this. If I have a phot which is vertically oriented it seems impossible for em to get it viewed correctly in slideshow. I can move it up or down, but I can't zoom out. (I can zoom in.) When I click it to edit iPhoto '09 automatically reorients it so that I can see the whole photo. I wishI could have it viewed that way in a slideshow -- but I can't figure out how.

I tried all of them. They make minor differences. The major difference is that while in edit mode the entire picture is set into a black landscape, once in sideshow it automatically chooses the magnification -- leaving about 1/4 of the photo viewable and the only real change that I can find is moving the photo up or down -- but always just choosing which small portion of the photo to view.
It seems an off choice -- it makes viewing vertical photos very disappointing.

WHY HANA VIEW ARE GIVING BAD PERFORMANCE IN DASHBOARD THEN TABLE

Dear Experts ,
I have created a dashboard on top of HANA view.
Scenario 1
HANA view is taking 3 seconds to fetch data in HANA studio .
When we create dashboard on that view, the dashboard is taking around 50sec.
Report has around 10 queries.
Scenario 2
Then we insert data into a table from same above view .
HANA table is taking 10 ms to fetch data in HANA studio .
When we create the same dashboard on that table, the report is taking
around 4 Seconds.
Report has around 10 query.
You may raise finger on dashboard tool. But by only converting view to table dashboard is giving good performance .
Please suggest what should we use Table or View for reporting tool ????
Only performance matter to Users and that's why we have taken HANA.

That's actually completely false.
Attribute views are not materialized in full every time an Analytic View is queried. On the contrary, only the joins/materialization required to fulfill the query are performed. I have rolled out Analytic views with 50+ attribute views joined to them, if every one was built every time the AV was used, that would be a disaster.
An attribute view is fully executed if you query it directly with SQL, but the behavior changes when used in an AV.
Quick observation in good faith of my statement.
Query an analytic view with one column from a joined attribute view (Material - MARA)

FROM "_SYS_BIC"."Main.Analytics.CO/AN_COPA"

Only one join is executed to the fact table

Only two joins are executed; one to the snowflaked dimension and one to the fact table
So even though I am issuing a query against an AV with a very large number of dimensions, only what is needed is actually executed.

Hi Bob, I just tried your suggestion, but the interactive PDF is in spreads by default, no way to change the setting. When I choose to view by single page in Acrobat, it displays a single spread.
When I choose to view by spreads, it displays 4 pages, two spreads. That's the topic of this whole discussion, I believe. I do own CS 6 at home, however my employer supplied me with CS 5.5. And I have very little, if any, influence on purchasing.
So, I have no good way to make an interactive PDF (with differing recto/verso headers and footers), that is accessible and shows the correct header/footer. It's either single pages (with one header/footer), or recto/verso headers/footers but PDF only as a spread, as well as I can tell.
Unless you know something else I can do...

Focus stays when change view

Hello,
I have a viewstack with 2 views.
In view 1 is a textinput.
In view 2 is an image.
when i startup my application, view 1 is shown.
I type an a in the textinput.
Now i press a button and it goes to view 2.
I type bcd.
I close this view to return to view 1, and what i see is in my textinput shows bcd as value.
I tried to kill the focus when i press the button to change view but it doesn't work.
Please some help.
Code i tried:
this.stage.focus=null;
Application.application.focusManager.deactivate();
this.focusmanager=null;
this.focusEnabled=false;
this.focusManager.deactivate();

The button is in a menubar.
Is there a general place and/or function so i can see wich item in my project received focus?
Should i do something like creating an eventlistener on the stage that calls a function on each enterframe so i can trace focus?
I did solve my problem by setting: myMenuBar.focusenabled=true;
and when i click on the menu i put focus on the menubar by setting; stage.focus=myMenuBar;
I wonder if this is the best solution, cause when you are inside the second view and you use for example the S for a stroke function inside the second view, but you also created a menu shortcut with the S that saves your project.
This way the S will save the project because the menubar has focus..
Or would this be the only solution and youll have to be sure not to use the same key for different functionality?

Some photos outside viewing area Bridge CS5

Some of my files are outside the viewing area of my monitor when I try to choose them from the Bridge program. At first there was a slider at the bottom of the screen, but after I loaded and installed the update from Adobe and restarted, even that option disappeared. If I can not see all photos in a folder, CS5 is not very useful.

I think I have not made myself clear--sorry about that. What I mean is that
the view of some of the photos is cut off. That is, I can see only part of
some of the photos. Scrolling through them by using the arrow keys has
shown that there are no photos that are completely hidden, which I feared at
first. By this I mean that I highlighted the photo to the left of the first
cut-off photo and then used the right arrow key to highlight successive
photos. The first photo highlighted by using the right arrow key was the
first cut-off photo (top row) and the second photo highlighted by using the
right arrow key was the first one in the second row. The cut-off photos are
only on the right side of the screen, at any and all window sizes. This
happens only in the Photoshop Bridge. I have not changed the monitor
resolution since buying this computer four or five weeks ago. And yes, I
realize this is not normal. It happens only in the Photoshop Bridge.

Hi, I need some help understanding the way materialized views are applied through adpatch.
In patch 1, we have a mv with build mode immediate. When applying it PTS hang due to pool performance of mv refresh.
So we provide patch 2, with that mv build mode deferred, hoping it'll go through. But patch 2 hang too on the same mv.
How does this work? Is that because mv already exists in the database with build immediate, patch 2 will force it to refresh first before changing build mode? How to get over this?

Patch 1 is MSC11510: 8639586 ASCP ENGINE RUP#38 PATCH FOR 11.5.10 BRANCH
Patch 2 is MSC11510: 9001833 APCC MSC_PHUB_CUSTOMERS_MV WORKER IS STUCK ON "DB FILE SEQUENTIAL READ" 12 HOURS
The MV is APPS.MSC_PHUB_CUSTOMERS_MV
This happens at customer environment but not reproducable in our internal environment, as our testing data is much smaller.
Taking closer look in the logs, I saw actually when applying both patch 1 and patch 2, MV doesn't exist in the database. So seems my previous assumption is wrong. Still, strange that patch 2 contains only one file which is the MV.xdf, it took 7 hours and finally got killed.

Changing view and save memory ?

Hello.
I've a program where you could change often your view. I don't use NavigationController or TabBarController to have a customizate interface. I only have several ViewControllers.
So, when I wanna change view, I call the method
[self.view addSubview:secondViewController.view];
But now, I realize that if the secondView call
[self.view addSubview:firstViewController.view];
and If you repeat this a lot of times (of course I don't only have two views, otherwise I could call "self.view removeFromSuperview"), there are a lot of view running in background of the actual view (I suppose, tell me if I'm wrong).
So, is there a way to remove the first view after calling the "addSubview" method ?
Or is there a way to tag a view in order to refind the tagged view when I want, from where I want ?

Very strange! All of my calendar events have reappeared. This has happened one week after downloading iOS 7
The calendar however, is not easy to use.
The typing function on the phone has become even slower. Have to wait for each letter to show on screen.

BPM worklist app views are not visible in IPM task viewer

we upgraded our system from 11.1.1.3.0 to
weblogic 10.3.5.0
SOA 11.1.1.5.0 with BPEL processes
ECM with IPM and UCM 11.1.1.5.0
after upgrade i have problem with profiles in IPM task viewer page. Views are created in BPM worklistapp and all users can see tasks assigned to them there. But those views are not visible in IPM task viewer page (i tried it using driver page). Because of missing profiles/views users can't see and process tasks assigned to them. In log files isn't raised any error message.
Everything was working before upgrade. Can someone help me with this? What can i have wrong there?

There are basically two ways to create an ADF UI for a BPM Task:
1. Generate it from the task
2. Create a ADF Taskflow based on Human Workflow Task
Since I tell this by heart, I might be slightly wrong in the terms.
You probably want to try the second option. It is accessible from the "New Gallery". You'll have to provide the Human Task from the BPM project, but then you can build up the ADF Taskflow by your self, based on the customizations of the rest of your application.
Should not be rocket science for someone with ADF11g experience. Since it is not my dayly job, I need to figure it out every time again ;). But I did it in the past and it wasn't so hard.

Change Pointers are not getting populated in BDCPV table.

Hi All,
         I am trying to create IDOC for Activity type master - KL02 through change pointers. For that I have done following things.
Message type - COAMAS
1. Created Custom message type - WE81 - ZIN_COAMAS_TCSMOBILE
2. WE82 - Config for Mess Type and Idoc type combination
3. SCDO - Checked object type LSTAR and have required tables in that object.
4. BD61 - Activated Change pointers - Generally.
5. BD50 - Checked Active for ZIN_COAMAS_TCSMOBILE
6. BD52 - Added fields for I want to create Change pointers
7. BD60 - Message type and ref Mesage Type and function module config.
8. BD64 - Created distribution model for my Message type
After doing all this settings the change pointers are not getting created in BDCP and BDCPV tables.
Note - The entries are going in CDHDR and CDPOS table for activity which i change through KL02 for class LSTAR
Can anybody figure out what need to be done in this case?

          Solved the problem myself.
          In BD52 I have given
          LSTAR               CSLA         KOARS
          LSTAR               CSLA         LSTAR
          LSTAR               CSLT          KTEXT
          Here the data of activity are stored in TCLA and TCLT tables. So intially while doing config in BD52 I have given TCLA and TCLT table names.
          But I debugged the KL02 and found that change pointers are not created for TCLA and TCLT table. further looking into CDHDr and CDPOS table I found that for COAMAS message type in these two tables table name was CSLAB.

--> BUT CSLAB is structure.
After putting these entry in BD52 the problem solved.

DVI out to TV reduces the viewing area on the TV

I have a Panasonic 42" HD TV which I am planning on hooking up to a mac mini. However, I have tried hooking up my MBP to the tv through a DVI-HDMI cable. Whenever I do that the picture viewing area on the TV is reduced from what it normally is for regular TV watching.
I have tried using it in both mirrored and non-mirrored viewing modes.
The TV can handle 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i/p but converts that signal to 720p to display.
The Panasonic display settings have a button called "Overscan" but that actually cut off some of the edges of the display area (ie the menu bar and dock. I've attached an image of the Display prefs pane

Wow, and those are the very settings which should fix the problem. Maybe there is onscreen menu settings from your remote control for Overscan which can be set. I don't even have the System Preferences Options section on my HD-TV. If not, maybe this just is a case of one TV that has no real ability to override overscan.
