Changing WiFi Passwords in Windows 8

Here we go...
I was able to set up wifi access at work, but when I get home, I can't connect to the router. My laptop gets the signal, but I don't know how to change the password so that I can actually get on the net. I'm sure this is a simple issue, but I just can't figure it out. Any help appreciated as usual!

1. Open Network Connections (ncpa.cpl).
2. Right-click the WiFi connection and click Status.
3. Click the Wireless Properties button and look on the Security tab.
4, When you click the check box for Show characters, the password is available.
This actually comes from a Windows 10 (tech preview) machine. I assume it's the same.

click on your wifi icon - top right - open network prefernces - advance - wifi - look under preferred networks - highlight the network name you want to edit and hit the minus sign.
after you've done that, hit the plus sign search the network you want then fill in the password.

i can't see 8 asterisks or 8 character password. There are only 5 asterisks or stars. I guess the minimum password for any ssid is 8 character password. Can somebody explain what's going on? If I'm not getting anything? I can't TRY it because i am a new appointee, I can't risk the displeasure of already hot-headed boss :) Cheers..!!

Changing wifi password

At my office we use wpa2-enterprise through a radius server. We're required to change our password every month. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this on the iphone except for "forget this network" and re-enter everything ...and I have no problem with that. However, It continues to "forget that network" forever. Every time I try to access something through that wifi network, it asks me for the password again. The only way to get it to remember that wifi network again is to reset all the network settings and start over....requiring me to re-enter all my other wifi passwords again as well (home, sister's, friends, coffee shops etc.) Is there a better way? Or is this an iphone bug I'll just have to live with? A "change password" in the wifi settings would be nice.

I think you have to select the advanced settings, and then select wireless, security. The existing key will be displayed, and you can change it.

Check box "show characters" missing?!

There is an icon that looks like an eye at the end of the password field. If that icon isn't there, that means the functionality was disabled in your environment

MBP changes WiFi password by itself

MBP changes password (from keychain) for WiFi by itself, returns to my old password every now and then. To get the WiFi to work, I have to put my admin password in and manually change it back within the keychain. Anyone know how I can stop it from doing this?

keychain seemed like the only place where I got it to change.
no-no. you should not change things in keychain manually. Proper way is System Preferences > Network > Airport > Advanced... > Select your network > Click that small pencil icon next to + and - icons. And after that connect to it again with new password. After that everything, including Keychain item, will be automatically updated.

Help changing wifi password

I changed to ATT U-Verse today. With the new wireless modem, I named it and chose a PW. Computers and ROKU work fine. When I try to change the PW on my iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch, I don't get the option to sign in with the new PW. The Network shows up but when I choose it, rather than ask me for the PW, it says "Unable to join Network". The only choice it gives is to "Dismiss" the message. How do I change the PW?

click the blue arrow to the right of the SSID, then forget network.
Then, add back the wifi SSID and you should be prompted for the pw.

I changed my apple ID password and now facetime cannot verify my e-mail address. I have tried changing my password back but still recieve the same pop up window telling me that the email could not be verified and to check my network but have wifi working

I changed my apple id password and now cannot use facetime and my icloud continues to prompt me for my password and I continue to give it but, I repeatedly am prompted for the password unless I cancel the icloud. I have tried changing my password back to the password I had before and this did not work. I have tried to use another e-mail address for facetime and had verified that e-mail address and this did not work. I do not know how to fix this problem. The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

Changing network password...There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request in Windows 8 and 8.1 Enterprise

We currently are running Windows 7 in our enterprise environment. Everything works as expected when the user tries to
change their network password via crtl+alt+del, change a password. We are now testing and trying to deploy Windows 8.1 to a test group and are running into an issue when any AD user tries to change their network password. The user can logon to the
PC just fine when the PC is on the domain, however as soon as they go to change their password they are getting the error "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request". The end result is that the user can not change
their password. We tried this via connected to the dock with a network cable, on corporate wireless, with a Windows 8.1 machine completely patched over with all Microsoft patches, and a Windows 8.1 machine that is not patched and are running into the same
issue. Has anyone ran into this? Is there something that has to be changed on the infrastructure side?

To configure the Password Replication Policy for an RODC, a member of the Domain Admins group is required.
By default, RODC's do not cache any user or computer passwords, neither a user or computer will be able to authenticate. You can however specifiy that their passwords be cached either by including a group or specific user in the Password Replication Policy

I changed my password for wifi connection and now my wifi won't connect.

I have an Osprey mini. Last night I needed to connect a new device to the wifi but couldn't find the card with the network password, so I got to my account online and changed the password. But when I try to connect, it says the password is incorrect.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

That isn't something that I would make me want to change the wi-fi password. Even if someone had your wi-fi password and used it to connect to it, they wouldn't have the same ip address (as you normally do not when you connect multiple devices to it).
That error message is usually due to the router erroneously assigning a duplicate ip address. It can happen if a router reboots while a computer is in sleep mode; the sleeping computer has an ip address previously assigned but the router does't know that when it reboots and it gives out the same address to another device. There are other ways something similar can happen. You can usually resolve the issue by shutting down all of the connected devices, rebooting the router, and then restarting the connected devices.
If you still want to change the router's wi-fi password, the exact method depends on the brand and model of router.
