Changing X & Y margins

I am trying to change the y margin to a -50 but it is only allowing me to change it to -20.  I have a HP Laserjet P4010 series.

Sure, if you have a UIButton called aButton...
{quote}aButton.frame = CGRectMake(20, 20, 50, 50);{quote}

  • How do you change the page margins?

    Hi There,
Since upgrading to Yosemite, I can't figure out how to change the page margins. If you look at the image below, I am trying to extend all of the margins so I can fit more text in. Thank you so much for your help!

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
I do not see where I click "toolbar" or "Document", etc. I even typed "adjust document" and "header/Footer margins" into the help box and I couldn't find it. Are you able to tell me how to do it starting from "File", "Edit", "Insert", "Format", etc? Or do I need to click on something with the new inspector. The option are "Style", "Layout" and "More". Thank you so much!

  • Change the default margin settings for the MS word!

    Hi All,
    BI Publisher version:latest 10.1.3.4
    DB:10.2.0.4
    Oracle Apps:12.0.6
    OS:AIX
We are facing an issue of which description is as below:
RTF output is being uploaded through "XML Publisher" Responsibility.
3.1.9 Header and Footer Margin from Edge Not Preserved in RTF Output
    This issue applies to Versions 10.1.3.3, 10.1.3.3.1, 10.1.3.3.2, 10.1.3.3.3, 10.1.3.4, and 10.1.3.4.1.
Microsoft Word provides a Page Setup option for specifying the margin for the headers and footers from the edge of the page. This option is available by choosing the File menu, then Page Setup, then the Margins tab, and the From edge box. This margin setting is not retained when the output format is RTF. The output is created with the default margin settings instead. The margin settings do work correctly for other output formats such as HTML, PDF, and Excel.
So, the "default setting" mentioned here is around 1/2 inch for MS Word which is getting added in the output, even if the margin in template is zero.
    Expected output:
So what we need to do is -
    1. Check the MS word installation on the application server
    2. Change this default margin setting as top and bottom 0 on the server in the MS word page setup. (I can give you steps to do this in word if required)
We have tried setting this margin to 0 on client side and generating the output and it makes no difference, so it must be coming from the server.
We need to know how could we modify the settings and need to know te source and Check the MS word installation on the application server?
Could anyone please share such an issue faced before!
    Thanks for your time!
    Regards,

    Hi All,
    Moreover,
Our understanding about the RTF output is this -
When we generate an RTF report output from Oracle EBS, the word document that is generated is with the settings of MS word that is installed on application server.
This understanding could be wrong as we have never faced such situation before! We have come to this conclusion because the default settings that we do on client machine do not work.
And as per the documentation of BI publisher the RTF should always be generated with the default settings of MS word.
So what you could help us with is this -
    1. See if the MS word application is installed on application server ( if you think this is not application server, but any other server then please check there!)
    2. Change the default margin settings for the MS word.

  • How do I change the print margins in firefox 4.0 in ubuntu?

When I upgraded to Natty (Ubuntu 11.4), I was automatically upgraded from firefox 3.6.x to 4.0.x
I want to change the print margins, however when I go to File > Page Setup, it only gives me options for changing the paper size and orientation. There is no longer any sort of tab or option for margins, header & footer, etc.
Am I missing something or is firefox?

    Try this:
    EDIT:
    * Goto about:config
    * Look for print.printer_<PRINTERNAME>.print_margin
    * change those to what you want :D
    * Restart the browser.
    ENDEDIT:
    Should help you out.

  • Cannot change the print margins when printing out my spreadsheet.  Tried clicking on format and then Document but when I enter a number I always get " invalid number".

I cannot change the margins when printing out my spreadsheet.  I clicked on the format then on document and got a entry box.  But everytime I try entering a number to change the left margin ( tried .5 ) I get an " invalid number " response.  I can print out the spreadsheet but always get a message telling me the margins may be too small and data may be clipped.  Data doesn't get clipped but left part of the spreadsheet is right at the left side of the paper.  Want to change the margin so I don't get that message.

Naming the spreadsheet app would do wonders for getting an answer.

  • Can't figure out how to change the bottom margins

This is my 3rd day with a mac and I can't figure out how to change the margins in Pages '09 so that it doesn't include a .5 margin on the bottom.
I'm using a HP OfficeJet J6450. In the page setup, I changed the "untitled" user defined margins to .1 for top and sides and 0 for the bottom and it still includes a .5 margin on the bottom. Changing the untitled seems to help side margins.
I've used the inspector to see if there is a setting there that defines the bottom margin as .5 and that doesn't seem to do it.
If I print borderless, the text boxes that I have a .3 border around don't print on the edges even though they show up on my workspace. It also throws off the top and bottom.
This is a big assumption, but I assumed that if the workspace and rules show white space and now grayed out, it would print that way. It's not.
    Any ideas? Thanks! Ana
P.S. I've downloaded & installed updates for everything - OS, iWorks, Printer

    Peggy,
Maybe this is true of Macs? On my windows systems - I can specify more options on both my printers and can print beyond .5 inches at the bottom. One specific option on my J6450 that I can select is "minimize borders" and it will print about .1 or .2 from the edge. On my mac, I do not have that feature to select. If I print borderless, even though my layout shows it should not go off the paper, once printed it does.
    Thanks.

  • How can I change a layout margin to print?

Many thanks for the last bit of info. However, I designed a card to have .5" margins all round, but the right margin on the layout shows an extra 1/8th of an inch greater on the right margin than the .5" margin showing everywhere else. Why can I not change this margin. I designed a greeting card with a border on both sides of the card, and they don't match cause I can't change this one right side margin. I have looked on all the layout menus to see if there is a reason and just cannot find it. Any clues?

I'm not sure if you're doing this in landscape view, but that could explain it. Many printers, especially ink jets, have a bigger bottom or trailing margin than the lead margin. The documentation that came with your printer may list minimum margins. Once you find which is the bigger, set both margins to that amount. Unfortunately, that may be bigger than you want.

  • Change bars in Margin on bulleted list

Hi...we have to put change bars in the margin to indicate a
change to a version. I do this by using the Borders, putting in
only the left-hand line. This works fine in Robohelp for Word - but
when I try to do the same in RoboHTML (creating Webhelp) it works
just fine for a normal style but for anything will bullets or
numbered list, the change bar overlaps the first word in the list.
Is there a way to insert a change bar on a list so that it appears
to the left of the list (i.e. in the margin)?
Please respond here or directly to me at
    [email protected] - many thanks.

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for the tip, I will keep it in mind for future use.
I tried the procedure as you suggested for this problem and the change bars still prevail. But at least I know what is most likely happening. I supposed I can recreate, or copy and paste this table back into the document.
FYI - I did get to look at the file as a .mif in MIF Browse and located the cells that were having the change bar problem. The codes for the cells said "Change Bars = no". So that supports what you were suggesting as well.
    Thanks again!

  • How to change the print margins in Acrobat XI

I am trying to print two pages per sheet on an 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock in landscape mode. The problem I am having is that adobe's default margins are 1" and this leaves a lot of room around the edges and leaves the pages difficult to read. How do I change these default settings? I don't believe scaling will work because that doesn't change the margins. Please let me know something. Thank you ahead of time.

    Hi All,
Have you checked for "Product Updates" from the printer menu. In the ePrint website find out whether you can remove the app and add it again.

  • How to make a permanent change to AW margins

I had to do a erase and re-install for leopard.
I had changed the margins so that they were a permanent change but the re-install brought be back to the original default settings.
I can not find any notes how I did it, and there is nothing under margins in a "missing manual' that mentions it.
Can someone remind me of the way to make the change permanently,
obviously I can do it each time using document but its annoying.

    Hi Greg,
    You wrote:
+My template is: Appleworks WP Options.cwk (WP) as a header,+
By the above, I assume you mean that when you open the 'template' in AppleWorks, the document's Title Bar says "AppleWorks WP Options.cwk (WP)". This would indicate that you saved the file as a document rather than a template. A template would open as "untitled (WP)".
+I can not tell what the template enclosed box (starting points) says : Appleworks WP.+
I don't know what you mean by "the template enclosed box (starting points)".
I tried the get info Command + i , but the info window would not appear.
I did it with a click for the new template and tried clicking info with a new page,
Where were you when you did this? From your description above, you seem to be in AppleWorks, with a document open.
Get Info is a menu item in the Finder's File menu. In the Finder, command-I is a keyboard shortcut for the File > Get info... menu item. That menu item is not available in any ot the AppleWorks modes.
Command-I will produce a Get Info window only if you are in the Finder (the first three items in the Menu Bar will be  Finder File), and have selected a file's icon icon by clicking on it once. When you have selected a file you can go to the File Menu and choose Get Info..., or you can press command-I.
+So obviously I need to convert it to .cws. How do I change from cwk to cws?+
The easiest way is probably to delete the existing file, then recreate the template.
Quit AppleWorks, go to the Finder, Locate and Delete the file.
Launch AppleWorks, Open a new word processor document, Set the margins (and make any other settings that you want as default values in new word processor documents), then go File > Save as...
In the Save as dialogue, click the Template radio button at the bottom right of the dialogue window.
Change the document name from untitled.cws to AppleWorks WP Options.cws
(Appleworks will have changed the .cwk suffix to .cws when you clicked the Template button. The application will also have navigated to the Templates folder, which is where this template must be saved to work correctly.)
    Check that;
—the file name is correct ( AppleWorks WP Options.cws )
—you are in the Templates folder (popup menu below the file name says Templates)
—the Template radio button at the bottom of the dialogue window is selected.
    Then click Save.
The dialogue will close, leaving you in the word processor document. The document's title bar sould still say "untitled (WP)". Go File > Close (or click the red Close button) to close the file. Click *Don't Save* in the alert that warns you that you have not saved the file.
Your new default options are now set, and will apply to any new word processor document you create using any of the four standard procedures:
    1. go File > New > Word processing
    2. press command-N
    3. click the Word processing button in the button bar
    4. click the Word processing button in the Basic pane of Starting Points
+and would that also allow me to use the get info window?+
It will make no change in whether you can use the Get info window. See above.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Changing default page margins for Web Intelligence

Is it possible to change the default page margins for new Web Intelligence documents.  The default size is 76px which most people find exceedingly large.

  • Howto change left/right margin when print

In a report we defined a left margin of 2 cm and a right margin of 1 cm.
When printing the report simplex everything is ok.
But when printing the report duplex we want to change the margins. Odd pages should print "normal" - but the page on the back, i.e. even pages, should then be "moved" to the left. That means the left margin has to be 1 cm and the right margin 2 cm.
How can we achieve this behavior?

    Hi Rainer
For information on settings for Duplex printing please refer to the below link:

  • Changing the page margins when printing

I have searched this forum and have not found an answer.
I am trying to print my resume, which is a web page, to a PDF. The default makes the page margins too narrow for my taste but no matter what I do, I cannot seem to change it. I tried to define a new paper format with a letter size and larger margins but that does not appear to make any difference at all.
It works in FireFox but the imbedded hot-links do not work like they work in Safari. Anyone have a solution?
    Paul

I had done that, defined a paper with wider margins, but I had not logged out and back in. Well, now I not only made my new sheet definition using the instructions, but I made it the default paper in the Print & Fax system preference, logged out and back in, and then even tried restarting. Safari (and interestingly all other applications) default to the standard letter size with standard margins even though my custom page with the custom margins shows as the default in Print & Fax. Sheesh!
Does anyone know of another browser that you can print to a PDF and the hotlinks within the document will remain good? They do not with Firefox.

  • Change envelope sizes & margins

OK, I have resized the template from a #10 to 7.2" X 5.0". But now I need to change the margins but the inspector won't allow me that option without the left margin printing off the edge of the paper. The addressee appears to be locked to the left margin. Anyone help me here?
    Thanks

While I don't quite understand your description of the problem, I'll make an observation that may be helpful to you.
The Addressee information location is governed the Left Margin and the Top Margin, and is handled like any normal document text, except for the margins being set to larger values than for, say, the body of a letter. Thus, you may change the starting location of the Addressee information by changing the margin values on the Document Tab of the Inspector.
The Return Address information is contained in a Text Box that can be located anywhere on the sheet, even outside the margin limits. The location of the Return Address may be adjusted by selecting the Text Box and either dragging with the mouse or by nudging with the arrow keys.
    Hope this helps.

Almost all of the word processing documents I use utilize margin settings of .5 inches all the way around. The default settings are 1 inch. Can someone provide me with an applescript I can run to quickly reset the margins? It's a pain to do it manually each time. Or is there another way to do this?
