Channel Issue

I am  working on restoring an image damaged by flooding. All the surface  damage appears to be in the blue channel. I know there is a way to  replace the blue channel but can find no decent explanations on how to  do it. I am working in PS CC- any ideas? Thanks- Gail

Anything from channel math to re-combining the channels via duplicate layers and e.g. nullifying or flooding the blue channel with an adjustment or replacing it with one of the otehr channels via copy&paste...

  • Canvas all white but export works - channel issue?

    Hi There,
I have a weird preview issue where the canvas is completely blank. If I do a RAM preview I see the animation in the little window but still get a blank white screen when I play.
However, I can export the full movie and play it in Quicktime no problems. At first I thought it was the Channel Selector menu but it's set to "Color" - and I've tried everything in the menu.
It looks to be some sort of channel issue to me as the media previews are either all white or I can see alpha previews in red.
Any suggestions would be most welcome - obviously I tripped a preview mode?
    Cheers
    Ben

Sorry, got tied up with some other work but have just tried to start a new project and the same thing - all white?
Here is a link to a brand new test file: http://files.me.com/ben.sciascia/ap5qom
Note: I trashed the Motion prefs before creating this file - basically every file I edit and create is almost all white. It might also take a few seconds for it to turn white.
For the life of me I can't think what the heck is going on - it looks like a weird blend mode to me.

  • X99 SLI plus and Quad Channel issues

Hey guys. I just managed to get some time to throw together my new rig, and am experiencing a very frustrating problem.
    I bought the ms9 x99 SLI plus, 4x4 gigs of G.Skill ripjaws 2666 ram, and a 5820k.
I initially put it all together, and it wouldn't post. After a process of elimination I discovered it would post with 12gb of RAM in slots 1,5, and 7. But as soon as I add one to 3, it's hooped. It also won't boot with 1,3,5, or 1,3. It will boot with 1,7, just 1, just 7 etc.
I've browsed the forum and found that this problem with these exact parts has arisen in the past, but I couldn't find a definitive answer. I also took a look at the CPU socket and didn't see any bent pins.
I installed windows fine, it runs fine, installed drivers etc (and its hella fast), but I do need that additional RAM for work. I'm planning on updating the BIOS tonight, and I tried clearing the CMOS early on.
Also I know its not the RAM as it boots with each stick by themselves. It seems to be a Quad channel issue, or a DIMM3 issue.
Any information is greatly appreciated. It's a super sexy board and I'd hate to have to dismantle, send it back, etc. I'm going to Hawaii in a week and was hoping to have all this working.
    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately you will have to. There is no magic and this is obviously hardware issue, whether it's the board or CPU.
Start with inspecting CPU socket pins. You will need a magnifying glass or you can take clear macro pictures of the socket.
Best do it on a bench outside the case, any non-conductive surface will do, wood table, cardboard etc. don't use antistatic bag.
Be very careful when mounting/unmounting the CPU, do not touch socket pins and CPU contacts with your fingers.

  • Illustrator CS4, new Pantone color books, color channel issue

Since I installed the new Pantone color books, I've been running in a major issue which will affect our whole production line.
If an Illustrator CS4 file contains a Photoshop CS4 image which is using an "old" Pantone color in a color channel, it cannot be opened and I get an error message "File is unreadable". If I replace the "old" Pantone colour with its new equivalent in the color channel in Photoshop, the file can be opened normally.
In our work environment, this means going through all our images to check which one is using a color channel. A painful and time wasting procedure. Furthermore, if one of our suppliers doesn't have the new color books, they won't be able to open any of the files, both Photoshop and Illustrator, so they have no way to revert back to the old Pantone.
Is there another way to fix this?
    Thank you

More on the Pantone PLUS saga, hoping to get some input from the users of this forum. I find their silence deafening, to say the least. This is a serious issue, that will cost our agency hours and hours of work if it isn't addressed. And we've already wasted hours of troubleshooting and discussions on how we could resolve it.
We're actually testing a workaround: using both the old and the new libraries in Illustrator. After consulting our suppliers, we've learned that this is what they also do. For them, it's a one shot to get the file to print. For us, it means cheating with files that will get edited again in the future. And the Pantone installer removes the old Pantone books from the Adobe folders for a reason which is mentioned on the download page:
The reason that the PANTONE Color Libraries that had been built into Illustrator need to be removed and replaced with the PANTONE PLUS Color Libraries is that, in Illustrator, a PANTONE Color can only have one data point with which it is associated. In the short term, in order to benefit from the new colors and data associated in PLUS, the PANTONE Libraries that are installed with Adobe Illustrator are removed and replaced with the new PLUS Libraries.
    http://www.pantone.com/pages/Pantone/Pantone.aspx?pg=20721&ca=1
I worry this may lead to another bunch of issue, knowing how easily AI files get corrupted. What I need to know is:
What is the exact meaning of the Pantone warning about the "one data point per color?
What are the long term implications of using both Pantone libraries in an Adobe file? Or in the Adobe app?

  • SAP PI 7.31 / Sender SOAP Channel Issue with XML tag Main/@versionMajor has incorrect value 000; expected value is 003

    Hi PI Experts,
We are on SAP PI 7.31 SP 10.
We are in the process of integrating ARIBA P2P solution using SOAP Adapter as sender to connect Ariba with our PI system.
We have configured all required components in ESR and ID(Most of them are content provided by Ariba). When we try to post a message into PI using SOAP UI we are ending with below error.

    http://<host name> : <port name> /XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel= <party name> : <service name> : <channel name>
For the above issue we had configured SOAP Sender channel as above, and the URL we are using to hit PI is as above screenshot.
We have followed the note on this topic with out any luck.
    1378872
We are not sure where is problem. As the issue is not reaching to PI not able to see the messages in SXMB_MONI.
and in the SXMB_ADM PI has been configured as Integration Server.
I had even tried to change the message protocol as XI3.0 in SOAP sender channel and noluck.
I have tried to ximessage=true query also in URL and noticed that not working. This is clear that the message we are trying to send from Ariba is not compatible with XI3.0 protocol,Ariba is not having any option to change at their end as it is a cloud application and many customers have been using same with out any issues.
We have tried maintain the Java System properties in NWA as XPI.Adapter.Version.Major = 3 but no luck.
Can some one provide us the solution to get rid of this issue?

  • Sender file channel issue

    Hello All,
Here I have a problem with sender file communication channel. THe channel is not able to pick a file as the file format is not correct andf throwing exception in the channel which is expected. But Its not allowing to go and pick the other files with correct format till I remove the bad file from the Source dir location.
How to get out of this issue Pls help me
    Regards,
    Moorthy

    Hi,
Maybe you can delete or archive the erroneus file and then all the other files are processed?
Set checkbox Archive Faulty Source Files and give directory where the erroneus files are moved.
Also under module tab add new row  int the Processing Sequence table like this:
    AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean ............. 1
    And in under Module Configuration:
Module Key ........ Parameter Name ...........................Parameter value
    1 ......................... Transform.PermanentErrors .........true
If this won't help, please check the No[Note 1265534 - Archive faulty files does not work with add time stamp mode|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1265534]. Basically this means that archiving does not work if you have set the 'Add timestamp' option so check that too.

    3. File Locking / Incomplete Processing
Q: I sometimes observe that files are processed only partially, i.e., only a fragment from the file's start is converted into an XI message. Nevertheless, the file is usually archived completely. Does the File Sender Adapter honor if another process has locked a file for exclusive use?
A: Unfortunately, the J2EE 1.3 technology the File Adapter is built upon does not support file locking. This limitation affects the File Adapter's operation. Depending on whether the JRE implementation for the operating system under which the adapter runs uses mandatory file locking or advisory file locking, opening a file that is currently being written to by another process will fail or not.
If opening the file fails, no problem exists and the adapter will try to open the file each poll interval until it succeeds.
However, if opening the file is not prevented by the operating system, the adapter starts to process the file although it is still being modified. Since XI 3.0 SP11 / PI 7.0 there is a parameter named "Msecs to Wait Before Modification Check" in the advanced settings of the File Sender channel configuration to work around this issue. This setting causes the File Adapter to wait a certain time after reading, but before sending a file to the Adapter Engine. If the file has been modified (which is basically determined by comparing the size of the read data with the currentfile size of the input file) after the configured interval has elapsed, the adapter aborts the processing of the file and tries to process the file again after the retry interval has elapsed.
If this option is not available for the settings you would like to use, the following algorithm (to be implemented in your application) may be used to ensure that the File Adapter only processes completely written files:
    - Create the file using an extension, which does not get processed by the File Adapter, e.g., ".tmp"
    - Write the file content
    - Rename the file to its final name, so the File Adapter will notice its existence and pick it up

  • JMS channel issue

    Hi
My XI system is set-up with alerts frame-work and we are able to raise almost all the system generated alerts. But we are facing one issue with JMS channel alerts. Lets me explain the problem.
We have a JMS channel connected to JMS Server and we are publishing the messages on JMS queue. When JMS server is down, the channel status is not turning into red and it is staying in gree only. If we see the messages in adapter engine (through message monitoring) they are in delivering mode and they are not going into system error state. So either of the things are not triggering any system alerts. So are there any parameters that we can set-up in JMS channel or somewhere so that when JMS server is down, we can raise the system alerts ?? We are using the EMS server for hosting the JMS queues.
    thanks
    kumar

    Hi Moorthy
yes! as you said, my main problem is..... channel is not turning into red, eventhough my JMS server is down and there by not able to raise the alert in either of the two cases.  (Adapter Engine based standard alerts or CCMS Alerts). Is there any option to set through which when jms server is down, channel will become red ??
    thanks

  • Alpha channel issues

    Greetings,
I'm trying to create a lower third using a still image that I created from a video clip using Quicktime Conversions. I then import it into FCP, drag it to a sequence and then add livetype text to it. In the preview mode on my main sequence when played is fine, but when I render it the alpha channel disappears and a black background replaces my video with the lower third material still there. What happened to my alpha channel? Is there a problem or a bug in FCP 5.1.1? I'm bewildered.
    Thanks,
    Jordan

    Editmojo,
I exported just the text from Livetype. I'm trying to create a customized lower third, but everytime I render the lower third nested sequence after I have added it to the main sequence a black background takes over with the lower third media there. Ordinarily, when you follow the instructions that I did it automatically keys over the video behind it.What happened? I did not have this problem with FCP 4.5. Is there an issued with FCP 5.1? I just spoke to a tech at Digital Juice regarding the use of their animations and he said that there was an issue with FCP 5.1 when it came to alpha channels. Is that the case? Would the update solve the problem?
    Thanks,
    Jordan

  • RFC Sender Channel Issue : STFC_CONNECTION

    Hi All,
There has been an issue with the RFC sender channels. When SAP triggers the data, we see an error in the RFC sender channel as below
Error in processing caused by: com.sap.aii.af.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: senderAgreement not found: lookup of binding via CPA-cache failed for AdapterType RFC, AdapterNS http://sap.com/xi/XI/System, direction INBOUND, fromParty '', fromService '<ServiceName>', toParty '', toService '', interface 'STFC_CONNECTION', NS 'urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions' for channel '<ChannelName>' (channelId 7f84f67e7efe39949dc12a2f569236fb)
But the data gets processed at the very next moment.
Program ID used in the channel is same as the ID registered in SAP. Is there some configuration missing either at SAP PI or SAP R/3 system?
    Regards,
    Prajeet

    Hi Prajeet,
please refer this wiki [link  |https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/RFC+Faqs?showChildren=false]Q19,hope this helps.
Check if you are using the same program ID in multiple scenarios. May be  if  you keep different the program ID names in different RFC adapters, it should resolve the error.
    also check here :/people/danny.deroovere/blog/2008/02/26/change-client-in-scenarios-with-sap-business-system

  • Z87-G45 onboard sound mixing channels issue

I'm using a 5.1 audio setup and having an issue with the subwoofer channel also playing at a slightly lower level through both front channels. I've  checked the creative audio HQ menu to make sure the fronts were not check to "full range" speakers, but it didn't help. I've tried removing the device and reinstalling the drivers, still same issue. I noticed this when trying to listen to music and it seemed like the satellites were trying to produce bass, making it terrible to listen to.
This is a new system, Intel 4670k, 8G Gskill ram, 9800 gtx+ graphics. The old system had a dedicated sound blaster live card that worked fine.
    Any ideas would be great!

Well it's still playing a subtle level through the fronts, it's tolerable for most music, but you can play anything like dubstep or anything with heavy bass, hopefully they will find a fix for this.

  • Audio Channel issue

If i play back ANY audio file, be it MP3, CD, something I've purchased from the iTunes store, it doesn't matter, I get a static hiss on the left chanels. Right ones are clear.
Everything was fine under iTunes 6x but as soon as they went to the 7x version this appers. I've tried uninstalling iTunes and going back to the 6x version, updating the lastest version of iTunes whenever its available in the hopes that it's fixed, I've even made sure my DirectX drivers were current.
I have no extraneous audio software on my system other than winamp. However, it should be noted that any other audio software, such as media player or winamp, doesn't have an issue with the audio files themselves.
    Anyone got any ideas?

    Pancenter, thanks once again.
Sorry about delay replying - have had an internet outage here just to add to my woes haha.
Anyway, the good news is that I think I've cracked it:
After updating the OS per your suggestion, uninstalling both Audacity and the m-audio (profire 610), and lastly resetting defaults on sys audio midi prefs I was still experiencing this problem - just on a line-in to Garageband. Pure frustration.
So eventually I just elected (in lieu of chucking the hardware out the nearest window lol) to do a cold re-install of the OS (erase and install option, backup hdd done). As I bought the iMac in January the OS is 10.5.5 I think.
After install, before doing anything else at all, I opened Garageband, set up an audio track and set input prefs to Line in Stereo 1/2 etc, and hooked up the tape unit via rca and the line-in port. The result? Perfect 2-channel stereo.
My personal theory is that the problem was created by the audio interface installation - an m-audio "profire 610" - Tho Audio interfaces are a frickin minefield anyway between Macs and PCS, chipset compatabilities, dodgy beta drivers, worthless gadget-hawking etc etc... I also realised that while my first original attempt was on Audacity I had already installed the profire unit just immediately before (but didn't use it). I doubt it was Logic which is designed specifically for the mac - I feel this theory might be proven when I reinstall these.
So there you go - get the Audio interface right it seems.. And I've got stereo audio.
Thanks for your help and input Pancenter - much obliged.
    Peace.

  • New Center Ice Channel Issues

The HNL Center Ice HD channels are now in MPEG4 and appear to be on the same QAM channel.  Often, a loose or corroded coax connector or bad splitter will impact a single QAM and cause what you're seeing.  Another person complained about the same Center Ice experience you have on this forum, and was able to resolve the issue after checking and reseating all connectors and performing an STB autocorrection.  Apparently the frequency ot the applicable QAM channel is more susceptible to interference or loss than others.
P.S. If you're addressing your comment to Verizon, you might remember that this is a peer-to-peer forum.  Although Verizon may monitor it, they don't always reply to questions, especially lately and when there is already a thread on the same issue.

  • DDTS-100 + i-Trigue 5600 + CH-DVD 462 center channel issue? Please help...

    Hi there,
I'm having some problems with this setup.
My DVD player is set to RAW output.
All cables are connected properly (checked, double checked)
When playing most 5.1 content (Dolby Digital track from DVDs) surround works perfectly except for the center channel. It's completely deaf. If I set the decoder to Stereo output, it works, so I know it's not the speakers. I tried some tests (7.1 THX Optimizer tests present on some SW DVDs) and the center channel works here (but the other ones are sort of messed up), so I assume it's not the decoder either.
I tried the center/sub switching cable that came with my last speaker set, and though it does switch the channels (I can hear mumbling dialogs in the sub channel) the center channel remains deaf.
So I know that the sound actually makes it out of the DVD (RAW is RAW) to DDTS-100 and from DDTS-100 to the speaker set (yep, the signal's here but I can't hear).
I should mention that I used competetive speakers before and had a similiar issue with the subwoofer channel - it made sound only for the LFE DVD channel as those speakers were not doing subwoofer channel computing (AFAIK Creatives do (bad bad bad bad)), but I assume DDTS and i-Trigue 5600 are supposed to be compatible...
    I'm completely puzzled. Any suggestions?

    shin8,
Are you getting proper output if you use the "TEST" button on the remote control?

  • Port Channel Issue on Cisco 2960s-24ts

    Hi All
Last week at a customer site we installed a 2nd 2960s 24 port switch to form a stack using flexstack cables, and the switch stack is working as expected as I can see a master switch and 2nd switch as a member.
For redundancy / resilience we decided to use port 24 on each switch over copper for trunk uplinks to our core switch. The issue that we're having is I can't ping the switch management address. I can however see the address in the arp table and the edge switch is visible when I run show cdp nei. As a work around I've shutdown one of the ports to the downlink from core to edge in order to ping the management address of the switch which is in vlan 1. I'd like to get the port-channel working on both sides for resilience.
