Channel Mgmt - BP mappings

Hello Experts,
I want to know how the mapings for the varoius Business Partners (BPs) takes place in CHM with respect to the Brand Manager, Channel Manager, Channel Partner & Partner Manager.
1. How the Brand Manager is linked to Channel Manager & Channel Partners?
2. How the Channel Manager is linked to Channel Partners?
3. How the Channel Partner is linked to Partner Managers?
To the best of my knowledge all these mapings are done thru various Relationship Categories in BP Relationships.
Please help.
Thanks in Advance.

Hello Gurus
I did not want to create another topic for this issue that's why i decided to open up this one, I am working on a user training course for the opportunity management on sbo, and among the things i need to clarify is the BP channel field , which refers to the BP channel functionnality, I looked at the business one help, in french, english, italian and spanish, but couldn't understand this propriety, to put things simple :
-What exactly is a business Partner channel ?
Please I need the explanation to be as clear and detailed as possible (an example would be most welcome) , since I'll be using it to teach end users.
Thank you very much.

I have upgraded my operating sytem to Windows2000 professional from WinNT 4.0.I reinstalled the weblogic again and had set up the environment variables.
After going through the error could you find out the reason? Is it because some seeting is missing?

  • Receiver File Adapter with File content Conversion

I have a requirement to send 2 different files to the target directory. Source is the same and different mapping for the 2 files.
This I can achieve through multi-mapping but there is a problem. How can I use the File content for receiver File adapter which is using Multimapping.
The structure of the 2 files also different.

Why would you need FCC on receiver file adapter? If you need different files to be generated from the source, you could create two receiver channels with different mappings and just add them to the same Receiver Detemination. Isn't feasible?

  • Regarding ECC 6.0- CRM and BW. URGENT....Please help!!

    Dear All,
I have a small query- Are CRM and BW an integral part of ECC 6.0? I mean, if I install ECC 6.0, will CRM and BW also get installed OR Do I need to explicitly install CRM and BW after installing ECC 6.0?
If CRM and BW are an integral part of ECC 6.0, Do I need to carry out some additional steps/install add-on components(while installing ECC 6.0), to activate CRM and BW OR  will it be activated by default once I am through with the normal installation process of ECC 6.0?
    Thanks in anticipation!!

The Lead Management InfoCube contains all the characteristics and data used for the administration of leads. This InfoCube enables you to execute the following standard queries available in SAP BW:
    1.     Channel Analysis: This query is used to determine the best channels by which business partners are contacted in the context of a marketing campaign. Following each marketing campaign, the lead manager can compare the success of a given channel to those of others.
    2.     Efficiency Reporting: This query is used to analyze the efficiency with which leads are qualified. By navigating to the sales organizations and the responsible employees for the leads, it is possible to assess how efficiently lead teams are working and to identify areas for improvement.
    3.     Historical Evaluation: Use to help analyze and compare leads over different intervals (comparison of different quarters or years for example) to see if general characteristics in the processing of leads can be identified for these periods.
    4.     Lost Leads: Provides an overview of the number of lost leads in a particular period and the reasons (implemented as a navigation characteristic) for the loss of the leads. This query is used to analyze the main reasons why leads might be lost, with a view to developing new strategies for overcoming these weaknesses.
    5.     Channel Mgmt.: Top-n Lost Leads (Current Year): In a Channel Manager Portal, this query provides an analysis of the leads lost by a Channel Manager over the past 12 months. Channel Managers can also view the leads lost by their Channel Partners. In a Partner Portal, this query shows the top-n unsuccessful leads distributed by a Channel Manager to a Channel Partner. Partner Manager can see the lost leads of the Partner Employees over the year. Partner Employee can view his lost leads over the year.

  • Don't get result when I put empty column in addition

    Hi all !
I've got some difficulty to get a total when I put empty column of a table in an addition in my sql query. All the data type are the same.
Some one can help me with that please
    Thanks in advance
    Eric

Thanks Richard.  My 5.1 mixdown type is Front+Rear+LFE.  I can see why I may not hear a center channel solo as my 5.1 amp does not have HDMI inputs and the MAtrox Mini Max only offers HDMI audio out or RCA 2 channel stereo out (which is what I have to use).
However, with the meter levels showing plenty of audio in the center channel, I thought I'd at least hear it in the finished Blu Ray.  Could it be some setting in Surcode?  I basically get 4.1 with all speakers except the center giving sound.  If I put my ear up to the center channel I can hear slightly some sound.  My other home theatre system does the same.  I can find very little info on this from surcode manuals and they haven't responded to my emails.
I have 6 stereo tracks I created from the original audio using Audition and imported them into Premiere and set the master to 5.1 with the 6 channels as standard.  The 5.1 mappings for channel assignments (device mappings for the Matrox player) match the rest of the sequence.
Are you familiar with surcode?  Like I say I can hear the LS and RS, L&R, and LFE perfectly in the authored BD-RE (and it sounds wonderful even without the center channel), but I get nothing (or next to nothing) out of the center channel.  I have some future projects coming up where this would not be acceptable.
I am a long time NLE editor going back to the 90s, but those were all DVDs and this is my first Blu-Ray and Surround sound project.
Any more helpful suggestions?  It is much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Steve

  • Need docs that explain Fibre Channel setup, getting I/O error on 2540 SAN

Sun T5220 Host running Solaris 10 5/09 as management host.
    Qlogic 5602 FC Switch
Sun Storagetek 2540 - one controller tray with 9 300G SAS Hitachi drives. Firmware 7.35.x.
Sun branded Qlogic QLE2462 HBAs - PCI express, dual port. 3 in the T5220. qlcxxxx drivers for the HBAs.
Sun Common Array Manager software version 6.5.
I am a long-time Oracle DBA who has the task of setting up a Fibre Channel SAN. I am not a Solaris sysadmin, but have installed and maintained large databases on Solaris boxes where I had access to a competent sysadmin. I am at a classified site and cannot bring out electronic files with logs, configuration info, etc. to upload. Connecting the T5220 is the 1st box of many. This is my first exposure to HBA's, Fibre Channel, and SAN, so everything I know about it I have read in a manual or from a post somewhere. I understand the big picture and I have the SAN configured with 2 storage pools each with 1 volume in them on RAID5 virtual disks. I can see the LUN 0 on the T5220 server when I do a luxadm probe and when I do a format. I formatted one of the volumes successfully. Now I attempt to issue:
    newfs /dev/rdsk/device_name_from_output_of_luxadm_probe
I get an immediate I/O error. I could be doing something totally naive or have a larger problem - this is where I get lost and the documentation becomes less detailed.
What would be great is if anyone knows of a detailed writeup that would match what I'm doing or a good off-the-shelf textbook that covers all of this or anything close. I continue to search for something to bridge my lack of knowledge in this area. I am unclear about the initiators and targets beyond the fundamental definitions. I have used the CAM 6.5 software to define the initiators that it discovered. I have mapped the Sun host into a host group also. I do not know what role the Qlogic 5602 Fibre Channel switch plays with respect to initiators and targets or if it has any role at all. Is it just a "pass through" and the ports on the 5602 do not have to be included? Maybe I don't have the SAN volume available in read/write. I find bits and pieces in blogs and forums, but nothing that puts it all together. I also find that many of the notes on the web are not accurate.
This all may appear simplistic to someone who works with it a lot and if you know of an obvious reference I should be using, a link or reply would be greatly appreciated as I continue to Google for information.

Thanks for the reply. I had previously read the CAM 6.5 manual and have all the SAN configuration and mappings. Yesterday I was back at the site and was able to place a UFS filesystem on the exposed SAN LUN which was 0. I've not seen any reference to LUN 0 being a placeholder for the 2540 setup and when I assigned it, I allowed the CAM 6.5 software to choose "Next Available" LUN and it chose 0. LUN 31 on the 2540 is the "Access" LUN that is assigned automatically - perhaps it is taking the place of what you describe as the LUN 0 placeholder.
I was able to put a new UFS filesystem on LUN 0 (newfs), mount it, and copy data to it. The disk naming convention that Solaris shows for the SAN disks is pretty wild and I usually have to reference a Solaris book on the standard scsi disk name formats. My question/confusion at the moment is that I have 3 Sun branded Qlogic HBA's in the Sun T5220 server - QLE2462 (dual port) with one port on two of the HBAs cabled to the Qlogic 5602 FC switch which is cabled to the A and B controller of the SAN 2540 - there are only 2 cables coming out of the 5220; the 3rd HBA (for future use) has no cables to it. Both ports show up as active and connected on the server down to the SAN and the CAM 6.5 software automatically identified both initiators (ports) on the Sun 5220 when I mapped them. I had previously mapped them to the Sun host, mapped the host to a host_group, virtual disks to volumes, volumes to....etc.; and was able to put data on the exposed volume named dev_vol1 which is a RAID5 virtual disk on the SAN.
When I use the format command on Solaris, it shows two disks and I assumed this represented the two ports from the same host 5220. I was able to put a label on one of these disks (dev_vol1), format it, and put data on it as noted above. When I select the other disk in the format menu, it is not formatted, won't allow me to put a label on it (I/O error) and I can go no further from there. The CAM 6.5 docs stop after they get you through the mapping and getting a LUN exposed. I continue on the in a Solaris-centric mindset and try to do the normal label, format, newfs, mount routine and it works for the one "disk" that format finds but not for the other. The information from the format info on both the disks shows them as 1.09 TB and that is the only volume mapped right now from the SAN so I know it is the same SAN volume. It does not make sense that I would label it and format it again anyway, but is this what I am supposed to see - two disks (because of 2 ports?) and the ability to access it through one. I found out by trial an error that I could label, format, and access the one. I did not do it from knowledge or looking at the information presented....I just guessed through it.
I have not "bound" the 2 or HBAs in any way and that is on my list as next because I want to do multipathing and failover - just starting to read that so I may be using the wrong language. But I am wondering before I go on to that, if I am leaving something undone in the configuration that is going to hamper my success in the multipathing - since I cannot do anything with the 2nd "disk" that has been exposed to Solaris from the SAN. I thought, after I labeled, formatted and put a filesystem on the one "disk" I can write to that the other "disk" that shows up would just be another path to the same data via a 2nd initiator. Just writing that does not sound right, but I am trying to convey my thoughts as to what I logically expected to see. Maybe the question should be why am I seeing that 2nd "disk" in a Solaris format listing at all? I have not rebooted any time during this process also and can easily do that and will today.

  • Chain interfaces to set file name in sender channel dynamically

    Hi,
I have a requirement to use the Seeburger SFTP adapter to import a file from an external server to an SAP ECC system.
The adapter must be Seeburger as the protocol has to be SFTP, not FTPS as with the File adapter.
Although I can set a wildcard selection, I really want to poll for specific filenames with predetermined naming criteria.
The sender SFTP communication channel doesn't provide any options to specify dynamic attributes but I wonder if I can link several interfaces together, please can you confirm if the following process would work conceptually:
    1) SAP ECC program runs and determines the fixed filename that I wish to import (e.g. file_abc123.xml).
    2) SAP ECC program calls an outbound proxy with a mapping to set the relevant parameter in dynamic configuration ('http://seeburger.com/xi' is the namepsace, 'dtSubject' is the parameter name for the filename of the SFTP adapter).  Besides mapping I think the Seeburger attribute mapper module could also be used to set this value.
    3) The outbound proxy is configured on the receiver side to call an SFTP sender channel (with a dummy/blank payload as we're only calling the interface to allow settng of the filename to take place) which links to an inbound service interface on the SAP ECC receiver side.
I don't know whether chaining of service interfaces in this fashion (receiving interface also being a sender) is a viable approach or whether there are any alternatives.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alan

    Hi Alan,
Are the specific file names that you are polling for going to be changing or will they be fixed?  Are each of the unique names going to be processed using the same interface?  If so then I would just create multiple SFTP sender channels that poll at different intervals but use the same mappings, etc.

  • EDI customer specific mappings

    Hello Experts,
I am having a scenario where the old legacy system is planned to be replaced by PI (7.11)-Seeburger.
Now the old system based out of Gentran had around 100 maps pertaining to their 100 customers for distribution of their Invoices and ASN.
Hence wanted to find out how best can be achievable using PI Seeburger. We thought of following options
1] Create 100 mappings in PI and have conditional interface determination based on the customer. But in this we will have to hard-code customer DUNS number into interface determination conditions
2] Create one base mapping in PI and another in ABAP mappings with customer format maintained in the Z-tables of PI ABAP stack and ABAP mappings filtering the same. This would lead to complex ABAP mappings program.
3] Create one mapping in PI and write conditions in Seeburger BIC mappings. Again writing so many conditions in BIC mappings.
Anyone worked in such scenario, please let me know the best suitable solution in this case based on your experience. Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Rajeev

    >> One Receiver say EDIReceiver
This is recommended. But then your EDIReceiver system should be able to send invoices to all the 100 customers based on the data in EDI file.
    >>100 interface determinations for 100 maps with conditions based on the partners
If you have option/resource/time to functionally check the details for each of these customer individually, it is recommended to group them based on some business rule. Creating 100 maps blindly will make many redundant mappings. Try to make small groups of 4-5 mappings based on business requirement and reduce the number of maps. When thinking about changes to customer specific mappings, always think two ways.
e.g. If you have separate maps for 100 customers and lets say they belong to same region. In future, if due to any legal requirement change, any change is required in the maps, it would be tedious and not so good design to change all the maps. Therefore, as I said group them based on business/functional logic.
    >>Multiple Receiver agreements based on the versions required each having comm channel with X2E mapping for the version required.
Note that these standard X2E and E2X mappings are part of Seeburger BIC license. If you already have purchased BIC, your estimation for this part should be minimal.

  • Migration database will be impacted to mappings?

    Dear Experts,
We are planning to migrate from one database to other database and we have the existing Integration Server with 40 interfaces with the different mappings(ABAP, XSLT, Java and Message Mapping). How does the impact with the mappings or other settings if we run the migration? Please give some ideas with the implication. Thanks.
    Regards,
    J Simon

If the table name and structures ll not get modified after migration, then there would be no change in IR.
But in ID, u have to edit all the communication channel details like connection parameters. U may use the same business system in this case. But if u want to change the business system, then in that case entire ID part has to be reconfigured

  • Code Sample: Easy RFC Lookup From XSLT Mappings Using a Java Helper Class

    Hi everyone,
This is just a shameless plug for my article: <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/05a3d62e-0a01-0010-14bc-adc8efd4ee14">Easy RFC Lookup From XSLT Mappings Using a Java Helper Class</a>. I hope you're interested in reading it, and I welcome your comments in this thread.
    Kind regards,
    Thorsten

Hi Stefan. Thanks for your post. I have already done that. It still does not work. As a base for my java helper class I have usesd Thorstens code.
The problem is quite confusing. I will try to ouline both issues here.
First of all, when try to test from within the Operation Mapping, I always get a java error saying it cannot find the communication channel (it is there and working because I have tested it with the RFCLookup in graphical mapping). I have found a way to work around this, and that is to uncheck the "Use SAP XMLToolkit" checkbox --> switch to test tab, enter my ReceiverService in the parameter tab (header parameter) --> switch back to Definition tab, check the "Use SAP XMLToolkit" checkbox --> switch to Test tab and run the test. Then the XSLT and call to java helper class will work. Of course this is not really something you want to do all the time. Maybe there is a bug.
Secondly, it never works when I try to do it "live". I am using a file adapter to pick up one file, convert it and a file adapter to drop the converted file. I get the following error code in SXMB_MONI.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    <!--  Request Message Mapping   -->
    <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">

      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
Using an XSLT without a call to a java helper class, works just fine.
I am totally at a loss here. Any more input would be much appreciated.

  • Multiple mappings without BPM

    Hi Gurus,
I have to change an existing scenario in which I have to send message from SystemA to systemB like this.
(SystemA)SoureceMsg to ErrorMsg &  ErrorMsg to MailMsg, TargetMsg(in SystemB)
in this case the error message will not go to any system it just an intermediate message which just hangs in PI 7.0 system..
I should not use BPM according the requirement and I should n't create temperory file for error message and pick it again to create the mailMsg.
Once the source message is generated it should go all the way to create mail message.
I have different existing mappings for
    1. SoureceMsg to ErrorMsg
    2. ErrorMsg to MailMsg
    3.  SoureceMsg to TagetMsg
Please guide me how to do it.

    Hi Srikanth,
If the error message is created using file adapter then may be you can try using Response one way bean in module tab of the communication channel(file adapter) to route the message to mail adapter for creating the mail from it and you need to have configuration set up for this. Please refer the below links
[File - RFC - FIle without BPM|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/File-RFC-File%28Without%20BPM%29] for configuration required for response one way bean.

Hope this will solve your purpose !!

    Amit
