Channel Scan installation starts when TV is turned on
Toshiba 46UL605U LED TV - When you turn on the TV it always goes into channel scan (installation mode). Just started within the last month.
Is there a correction for this. What causes this

It sounds like it was hacked to run XP and then makes it not run OS X now.
Only thing I can suggest is to repartition the hard drive to a single HFS+, GUID partition and see if that allows you to install OS X.

Does the iPhone 5s scan thumb even when setting is turned off?
Call me paranoid but I will not get my thumb scanned anywhere. I don't really trust that they won't sell the information anywhere or at least to the NSA. Does anyone know how the button works, the code? Can anyone confirm that the button does not scan only when you choose that option. That is why I've been hesitant to upgrade from my iPhone 5. I guess I could always someone mod the phone to have a clickable button again. Thanks!
Reading this makes me feel a little better. Still would probably put a piece of tape over the home button just in case. NSA won't have a chance!

"Touch ID doesn't store any images of your fingerprint. It stores only a mathematical representation of your fingerprint. New Problem - It will start when open, but turns off when closed
I started a new thread so that I wouldn't confuse anyone.
I was trying to solve a problem with my G4 not starting after installing an additional DVD drive, but the problem is different now.
The G4 will start and run correctly with it opened up, but as soon as I shut the door, it shuts down.
Any ideas?????

I'd check whether any cables are being pinched or crimped as the case is closed. With the case open, you can also apply some light finger pressure to each cable, bending it in the same direction as when the case is closed, to narrow down the problem. It may be a connector is loose, or a cable is damaged internally. I'd pay particular attention to the cable that connects the front panel board (containing the On button etc) to the logic board. This is normally a narrow black ribbon cable and crosses the main case hinge near the front. -
The installation does not start when I log in to Adobe Download Assistant.
When I downloaded the program (Ae) it took me to the download assistant; which allows you to sign and start the installation process on its own. I am having a problem with the installation starting when I sign in. Once I sign in it gives me some programs I could download, but are not what I am looking for. Please help.

Make sure that your computer meets the System requirements for running After Effects. For example, AE requires a 64-bit operating system. If you're on a 32-bit version, you will be unable to install AE.
If you meet the system requirements, try one of the following:
Restart the browser and from the website, try downloading After Effects again.
Sign in to Adobe Download Assistant, and then from the Show Me menu choose Video, and then click the left/right arrows till you find After Effects CS6. -
I am experiencing problem (the installation does not start) when I try to install ArchiCAD 17 Educational on my mac. I am using Yosemite. How can I fix it?
You need to contact the developer/manufacturer directly to determine if their product is compatible w/Yosemite. It is not listed on their system requirement website:

How can I stop itunes from starting when I turn on the computer?
I'm sure I've done it before but I've just reinstalled itunes and it starts evey time I turn on the computer. I have searched all the menus and haven't found an option to turn this off.
Can anyone help please?Go to Start>All Programs and look in Startup. iF iTunes appears there, remove it.
If iTunes is not in startup, do you have any iTunes widgets? If you don't know what they are you probably don't have any.
Some iTunes Widgets can be configured to start when you start your computer and that could cause iTunes to appear. -
I need help! how do i stop skype from automatically starting when i turn on my computer?
There used to be an option in the options menu, but in the new skype windows desktop version i can only find a connection options tab. I don't want it to open every time i start windows. Thanks in advance

iPhone do not do automatic update. You have to manually trigger the updates.
If your Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads > Music, Apps, Books are ON then when you purchase any new content/item with any devices/computer iTunes, it will automatically download. Switch it OFF if you do not want that to happen. -

Hello!, my name is jan and i am using lightroom 2 for many years. I have an original set-up disk with a 24 digit serial number. I had never problems wih installation of lightroom. suddenly lightroom refuses to start when I try to from a picture i have taken with my nikon D500 and transferred to WINDOWS 8.1. i have tried to re-install lightroom : the procedure asks for the serieal number , but refuses to accept the number that always worked. PLEASE help!! jan
If you are certain you have the right serial number, there really isn't much we can help you with here. You might try downloading and installing the last version of Lightroom 2. It will be the trial version, but when the trial screen appears there is an option to indicate that you have a serial number. Incidentally, Lightroom serial numbers start with the first four digits being 1160.

I have accidently shut down my Mac Book Pro during windows 7 installation . When I re started it it began to say " Press any key to boot from CD or DVD " but the keyboard is not working . So I cannot boot It and the CD is also in the drive . Please help me to boot back to Mac book Pro and give me a way to start the key bord .

If Windows doesn’t install properly
Verify that you’re using an original, full version of the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8, or Windows 8 Pro.
Restart your Mac and hold down the Option key until one or more disk icons appear on your screen. Insert the Windows installation disc into the optical drive or insert the USB flash drive with Windows into a USB port on your Mac. Select the Windows installation disk icon, then click the arrow beneath it. Quickly press any key on your keyboard to start the installer. Follow the onscreen instructions to repair or reinstall Windows.

Is it possible to install Lightroom 4 and CS6 student editions on a stand-alone system NOT connected to the internet? When I place the disk in the drive, it never even attempts to install and gives me an error condition.
