Channel settings

when you use more then one express/extreme in an network. according to the setup guide "base station a is set to channel 1, base station b should be set to channel 4 or higher" is this for two different networks or for when they are on the same network.

That applies if they are on two different networks. Having two separate networks using a channel close to each other may negatively affect the performance of both.

Channel Settings and EQ in the Output 1-2 channel

I like to use some of the canned channel settings on the mixdown channel, especially the soft enhancer and the maximizers. I also like some of the channel EQ settings like final mix pop, etc. When I add the soft enhancer to the channel strip and then add the EQ, the EQ drops the volume of the channel. This seems to defeat the purpose of the enhancer or maximizer. It doesn't seem like there is a way to EQ first, then maximize. I wondered if anyone else has tried to do this, or used the channel strip settings and EQ in different ways.

Hi,
using a preset is a good way to start to understand how things work. You should take your time to discover the effect of the single elements in the channelstrip and how they are applied best.
However, you can change order of FX by dragging the plugins and holding down the CMD key.
If you select the soft enhancer first and then enable the Channel EQ, the Channel EQ will install itself as the last plugin in the chain, which is not good. The last plugin must be the limiter. That's an iron rule. So, move the channel EQ to the top and sort the other plugins in an appropriate order, with the limiter as last plugin.

Lost channel settings in group properties and blending options when switching to or from 16bit

I recently noticed that Channels-settings in both Group Properties and Blending Options are lost when changing a file from 8bit to 16bit and vice versa.
Could someone please verify if the behaviour is the same on their set-up?

the behavior is now correct with CS6.

Programmatically changing FieldPoint channel settings

I need to be able to change my Compact FieldPoint channel settings on-the-fly, specifically the range and attribute settings. I've tried doing so using the "Configure Range" and "Configure Attribute" VI's, but have been unsuccessful thus far. I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong, though it may be that the cFP Modules I have are NOT listed in these VI's selection controls. I am using 3 cFP-AI-118 modules and 1 cFP-TC-120 module on a 4-slot chassis with a cFP-2120 controller.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Copy Channel Settings?

Hi.
Is there a way to copy channel settings within a project or between projects? I do not want to copy the entire track (I know that can be done). I just want to apply the effects inserts that I have on one channel to another channel (preferably in a different project). I know this can be done in Logic, so it seems reasonable that Soundtrack Pro would be able to do this, but I haven't figured out how (and I have checked the manual).

You can save & re-use (all) settings of one effect by clicking the 'show presets' knob in the lower-right corner of the effect-popup you want to copy. Then, click '+' in the lower left corner of the popup, and enter a new name for the setting.
When re-using the effect on another channel, click 'show presets' again, and select the user preset you created earlier.
If you automated effect parameters (with envelope points), you can copy & paste by selecting this knob:

Copying/moving COMPLETE channel settings?

Hallo. Is there a way how to copy or move complete channel settings between channels? Say I have track 2 and I want to move all settings from track 2 to new created track, that includes not only inserts but also BUS settings (including Pre or Post), I/O settings, Volume and Panning? I know that I can move/copy automation data, but whole channel settings?

I only found out last night why I didn't hate the fact that the channel strip settings don't include the bus settings and was very glad it didn't... for this one instance. I believe I have had 1,000 times that I would have liked the bus settings to be included. Maybe some kind of choice would be nice shrug.

Migration manager forgets to import custom IAC channel settings

it looks after "migrating settings" from 10.5.8 to 10.6 that the Migration manager forgets to import custom IAC channel settings.
cananybody tell me where they are stored and which files i would have to manually copy or do i have to re-create those IAC channels by hand?

The value of the Channel Strip volume etc is not stored within the C Strip setting, as you have discovered.
If you really wanted, you could add a Gain plug to the strip, with it set to give the correct output level with the Fader set to 0
(Or just set the fader manually in MS)

The Klopfgeist channel settings always reset to default

G4 Dual 1Ghz Quicksilver Mac OS X (10.3.9)
I made a special tone setting for Klopfgeist (Inst 128), and I like it sent to its own output (output 3 panned hard left). It is no problem to store my setting in Klopfgeist, but every time I open any song, all settings are back to their default and I must manually select my tone setting and re assign my output. I tried to "save channel strip" but no no avail. It would be convinient, to say the least, if my settings were automatically recalled. If I put Klopfgeist on any other channel, the settings are retained, just not on inst 128, where I really need it. Anyone??

OK, this feels like we're on the right track!
The default paper size is set to US Letter... which is perfect.
Then, I went to http://127.0.0.1:631/printers/ but I didn't see anything about paper scale when I clicked on all the tabes under "Set Default Options", including "General". I did try to click on "Default Options" button which asked me for a username and password but I'm not quite sure what would even be nor how to even find them because I have never been to that page before...

I think I should first tell you what we want to do:-
For each message that comes in:-
1) we want it to be sent to our program
2) from our program we want to call our application that will go through the message, and on the basis of certain rules built into the application, will decide whether the message needs to be re-enqueued or discarded.
For the above I need to certain configurations.
I think I can use the intermediate_channel.c program that comes with the SDK in the /example/mtasdk directory, and from that program can call the application.
Please suggest on the above.
Coming to my present configurations.
No, I had not added the xloop_test channel to the job_controller.cnf file.
However, I had added the channel to the job_controller.site file as:-

(where intermediate_channel is the compiled version of the intermediate_channel.c pogram that comes with the SDK examples.)
Now, I have done something else:-
First, in the imta.cnf file, I have removed the
above 2 lines from the part I : rewrite rules, keeping the part 2 same and I added the following line:

I have added the following 2 lines to the job_controller.cnf file.

With this configuration, my message is going to my yahoo account, and the mail.log_current file is showing the enqueue and deque, however, my intermediate_channel program is not being invoked.

Alpha Channel Settings keep reverting back to "Ignore"

Hey All,
Just diving into FCPX and I had a question about the alpha channel. After finding the Alpha setting in the inspector, I switched to it premultiply. However, upon clicking out of it, the inspector reverts back to "ignore alpha." It does this whether I change the clip in teh Project or the Library. The title animation I'm using was exported from after effects with the animation preset.
Is there a reason why it keeps reverting back to the ignore alpha setting?

There had been a reset method in prior models of PPC powerbooks, etc
that worked by putting your palm/hand flat over the trackpad for a few
seconds, then moving it one direction in one pass. However, that seems
to not be suggested in remedies to resolve Intel-based trackpad issues.
Hopefully the SMC reset will help.

I moved from Taiwan to the EU and need to adjust the channels of my Time Capsule 5GHz WLAN to comply with the EU standard?
How can select the different channels. I currently have only 4 channels 149 - 161 available.
I have tried to select the EU region, but it will not offer me this choice.
The spec sheets on both the Taiwanese Apple site and the German Apple site both have the same specs (also US site etc.).
It only sais that in certain countries certain channels are not approved to be used.
I annot see why it should not be possible to select different channels.
Can anybody help?

I need 5GHz WLAN because my condo is covered in 2.4GHz WLAN.
Also I don't see why I should not be able to use the advertised feature???
