Chapter Heading

Hi Experts
My client has 4 Item Groups.
Named 1.ROPP CAPS
            2.FLIP OFFS
            3.LUG CAPS
            4.ALUMINIUM SHEETS.
FOR THE ITEM GROUPS OF 1,2,3 THE CHAPTER ID IS SAME.
AMD FOR THE 4TH ITEM GROUP THE CGHAPTER ID DIFFERENT.
WHEN WE ADD THE CHAPTER ID IN THE DATABASE IN ITEM MASTER,IT WONT ALLO US TO DUPLICATE THE CHAPTER ID .
SUPPOSE I HAVE ADDED 8309-90-20 AS THE CHAPTER ID OF ROPP CAPS GROUP.
BUT WHEN I TRY TO ADD THE SAME CHAPTER ID FOR GROUP 2 & 3 THEN IT IS THROWING AN ERROR AS "THIS ENTRY ALREADY EXISTS".
iS THERE ANY OTHER WAY TO MAINTAIN THE ABOVE SCENARIO IN SAP B1 .
REGARDS
KRISHNA VAMSI

Hi Krishna Vamsi.......
This is standard behavior of SAP which does not allow to duplicate Chapter ID if its already exists.
You can save the same into UDF at Item Level.......

  • How to set an image to be a chapter heading?

Hello folks. I am trying to work out how to set an anchored image - which I am using as a chapter heading - to be detected as a chapter heading when I generate a Table of Contents?

I don't think the images being anchored is an issue. Since the same principle would apply to non-anchored images.
I'm just anchoring the header images so they remain in place with the text as I am still editing the text of the document. But here is a screenie. As you can see, the titles "Package Contents" and "Guidelines" are both graphical elements.
What I want, is that when I generate my Table of Contents, the software will output the text ""Package Contents ... 3" and "Guidelines ... 3" instead of "[image] ... 3"
Thus why I wonder if I can in essence, mark or tag the images, then have the mark or tag displayed in the TOC.

  • Present style of the Chapter Heading of the excisable Items...

As per the present style of the Chapter Heading of the excisable Items, there is no dotsu2026 itu2019s a plain number without dotsu2026 Is it possible in SAP B1 2007 B PL 7?

If you need to print out the Chapter Heading with dot, you could use formula to reach your goal.

  • Chapter - Heading - Graphics Background

I'm trying to figure out how to create a different Page background and different text "header or footer" located on the page. In either case the background page and text header are dependant on the Chapter #.
    For example)
    1. a page which is part of Chapter "apple" would have a picture of an apple in the corner with the word apple under it.
    2. a page which is part of Chapter "orange" would have a picture of an orange with the word orange under it.
A master layout applied to all pages would not work since the backgrounds need to vary with each page part of a different section.
I haven't figured out a good way to do this. Seems to me that you need to create section text, but can a section graphic be created?
    Thanks,
    Ken

You'll need a different master for each chapter.

  • Can you put Chapter Header/Footer Sections in an iBook?

I have spent an incredible amount of effort to find a way to display Title Chapter Headers / Title Chapter Footer (I have also tried doing it through css as well).
I know on bottom of an ibook page you can tap on the brown scroller and it will display the chapter, but for my uses most of our books are about ~9000 pages - which makes it extremely easy to lose your place while tapping on the scroll button.
I have also added this a feature request enhancement on the ipad feedback, please let me know if anyone else has any suggestions.
    Thanks in advance,
    David

Clearifcation: Display Title Chapter Headers / Title Chapter Footer at the page level.
I am also approaching this from a programmatic standpoint, not from a WYSIG epub generation tool (like indesign).

  • ToC Not finding Chapter Heads

    Hi there,
Hopefully someone can help. My ToC has been working fine, then suddenly, after a save, it won't find Chapter 1, Publisher's Note or Foreword. I haven't changed the styles at all. I'm backtracking to see if I can find the source of the problem, but so far no luck. I see no overset text and I am not making any significant changes..
    Any suggestions?

It is a single file and gets saved every 2 hours or so. The difference is between 5pm one day and 8:30 the following day.
I tried exporing as a .inx file & resaving, as you suggested, but no luck. I ran into this issue before and thought it might be related to the Index References. I couldn't find anything wrong, but I deleted all references & started over and it worked fine up until this point. I haven't added any more references, though, and it's a bit of a pain to go back & re-reference everything...

  • TOC - one chapter heading, multiple page headings

Any one know how to automate categories with in a ToC?  I'm trying to get ...
    cars
    item pg1
    item pg2
    item pg3
    trucks
    item pg4
    item pg5
    item pg6
    item pg7 ...
Right now each page has "Cars(or trunks) | item" in it.  I'm getting ...
    cars
    item pg1
    cars
    item pg2
    cars
    item pg3
    trucks
    item pg4
    trucks
    item pg5
    trucks
    item pg6
    trucks
    item pg7 ...

Can you show us a couple of pages where these things appear? Use the camera icon on the Web page to embed a screen capture, like this:
I suspect though, that the simple answer is that your cars and trucks tags appear on each page, and you've set the TOC to find their paragraph style. Is each category in an isolated section, or are they spread around and mixed together? If they're in sections, you can add a "category tag" on the first page of each section, just a frame (and set it to non-printing and make the type big and red so you see it using some unique paragraph style not used elsewhere) with the exact text you want to appear in the TOC for each category, then include that style in the TOC.

  • How to have variable headers on different pages of a chapter?

    Hello,
(Running FrameMaker 8 on Windows XP.) I'm trying to figure out how to set up a system variable to use to construct a running header in the Master pages of a chapter. I would like the chapter to have more than just two header variants (one for left-hand pages and one for the right). I want the header to reflect conditions that are local to the page being displayed.
First, here is the basic structure of the chapter:
    Chapter Heading
       Heading 1
          Heading 2
                blah blah
          Heading 2
                blah blah
          Heading 2
                blah blah
      Heading 1
Introductory text (several pages of body text and lower-level headers)...
          Heading 2
    etc
On any given page, I want the running header to display the text of the most recent Heading 2 title to be used. However, if a new Heading 1 title was used more recently than the most recent Heading 2, and there is no text of type Heading 2 on that page, then I want the running header to display the text of the most recent Heading 1 title.
For example, suppose the "introductory text" in the above outline were to take up a few pages. On one of the pages having only body text, I would want the running header to display the text of the Heading 1 just above it, rather than the text of the Heading 2 title preceding that. In other words, I would like some sort of decision process, on a page-by-page basis, on which title's text it should use.
Is it possible to do this in FrameMaker 8? I tried using the <$condtag> building block, but I couldn't even get it to display anything meaningful, much less the correct text. I think I was misusing this building block - that it's only for use on pages that have conditional text, is that correct? My document has no conditional text in it at all.
Can anyone suggest how I might accomplish what I'm trying to do?
    Thank you!
    Joyce

    Joyce,
    Try using: <$paratext[Heading2,Heading1]>
This tells FM to use the first Heading2 on the page. If it doesn't find one, then search backwards until a Heading1 is found. You can keep adding multiple paratags in the specification. Just remember to list them in the reverse order of hierarchy.
You definitely do not want to be using the <$condtag> building block. This just tells FM to list the specified conditional tags found on each page and include alternative text if none are found.

  • Why do text variables using Running Header character style translate forced returns as a word space in the running head on the first page but close up the space on subsequent pages?

In an InDesign document that requires 3 different Chapter head paragraph styles (to cope with differrent length headings) I've set up the running heads on the master page with a text variable using the Running header (character style) option. The character style I've assigned to this is an empty character style that is applied to all 3 chapter head paragraph styles.
Some chapter heads require a forced line break, so that the line breaks are aethesically pleasing. On the first page the text variable translates this forced line break as a word space in the running head, but on subsequent pages it ignores the forced line break. This means that if you have a word space before the forced line break, on the first page you get a double word space and on subsequent pages the running head sets correctly with a single word space. But if you remove the word space before the forced line break in the chapter head text, the first running head sets correctly with forced line break interpreted as a single word space, but on subsequest pages the space is closed up.
This only seems to be a problem when the character style option is used for header text variables. If a paragraph style is used the forrced line break is interpreted as a a single word space in all instances, both on the foirst page and subsequent pages.
This would appear to be a bug in how text variables are applied when using the Running header (character style) option. I can't see any other reason why the text variable would beheave differently on the first page and on subsequent pages. There is only one master page, so it isn't a case of their being an error between a main master page and a chapter opener master page.
Does anyone have any solutionss, or know if this problem has been fixed in subsequent releases of InDesign (I'm using CS6 ID version 8.0)
    Thanks

  • Chapter Headings Are Not Exporting to PDF as h1-h3 tags

With two-column layouts, even though I assigned PDF export tags to the chapter heading Paragraph Styles, they are not being exported to PDF with h1-3 tags.
I'm using InDesign CS6 and Acrobat Pro XI on a 64-bit Windows 7 system.
    To export, I'm using the
File / Adobe PDF Presets option:
On the Export Adobe PDF pop-up-screen, the following are checked:
    Create Tagged PDF
    Bookmarks
    Hyperlinks
And I have the Compatibility set to "Acrobat 8/9 (PDF1.7)
Any ideas why the heading tags are not being exported correctly?
    Thanks.

There are some known problems with bookmarks and CS5 as well. As far as I know, the 7.0.3 update won't fix them, but it does solve some other problems, so you should install it.

  • Changing the chapter title automatically on a master page

hi,<br />I'm hoping someone can help. I've just received an Indesign file from a colleague which has an automatic feature which pulls the chapter heading from the document and places in on the right hand side. the master page has this written on it <chapter heading on right><br /><br />In the past, I would have created a master page for each new chapter if I wanted to have the chapter title on the right, but this seems to be a far superior way of doing things.<br /><br />How do I go about doing it? I can't find the function anywhere on InDesign.<br />thanks,<br />Jean

In CS3: Help > InDesign Help. Contents: Layout > Text Variables > Create and Edit Text Variables. Other topics covered: Create Variables for Headers and Footers, Insert Text Variables, Delete, Convert and Import Text Variables.
Read that first and try it. If you have a question, come back here.

  • Section header with portrait and landscape view

My iBook project is being created so that it is available in both portrait and landscape view. This has been a tricky process since alot of content was distored when I created the layout using landscape and then attempted to adjust the portrait view after that. Currently, after many adjustments, I am attempting to remove the small "section number header" throughout the book at the very top of each chapter header in portrait mode. I was able to remove the the section number from the landscape mode, but can't seem to figure out how to do so with portrait mode (or if it is even possible?)
Help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Remember....layout in landscape - edit content in portrait.
Did you try to select the section number header in the style drawer and remove it from the master layout?

  • Indesign to ebook-kindle: how to make table of contents link/jump to first page each chapter?

I have successfully completed the "ebooks: from adobe indesign to the kindle store.pdf"
    I have InDesign CS 5, not 5.5.
I did the indesign doc - export to epub, then converted that epub in Calibre to MOBI format for kindle.
But how do I make a table of contents that link or jump to the beginning of its respective chapter head?
    THANKS!!!

Yes, that fixed it, thanks! I had no idea they clashed like that. I ruthlessly purged all other tables of contents, and then used Layout > Table of Contents to create a new one, and it worked.
It made more sense after seeing in this thread that table of contents styles are more like presets or entities than styles.

  • Importing InDesign IDML results in blank chapter

I'm trying to import content into iBooks Author from InDesign. Apple's documentation says to export the InDesign document as an IDML file, then in iBooks Author go to Insert > Insert Chapter From... > InDesign File(IDML). However, when I try this, the imported chapter is blank, containing none of the content from InDesign, only a generic chapter heading. I think I'm following the instructions. I'm using the latest versions of both programs—InDesign CC 2014 and iBooks Author 2.2 running on Yosemite. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I played with it some more, it turns out that this only happens in portrait view. It shows up with content in landscape, but blank in portrait. My InDesign document is portrait, with the dimensions of an iPad screen. Any idea how to make it import in portrait mode?

  • HT4168 How to make I chapter breaks in Pages for epub export?

I would also like to make chapter names, numbers etc..

    Use Apple's ePub template.
From my understanding you get the Chapter breaks by adhering to the Chapter style for the Chapter heads.
