Chapter marker and video ipod

My problem is the following:
I have made a mv4 movie using Imovie with chapter marker. I must admit that it is working perfectly on iTunes I can use the chapter marker on the top of the screen. But, I can't use the chapter marker on my Ipod.
It seems that my movie is not in the podcast folder but in the movie folder. Does it make any differences? And if yes how can I transfer my exported-for-ipod movie from the movie folder to the podcast folder (in the ipod).
Thank you very for your help.

Try using the "Save as..." option to place the chaptered H.264/AAC movie in a MOV file container.

Not as far as playback is concerned in iTunes or on the iPod.
And if yes how can I transfer my exported-for-ipod movie from the movie folder to the podcast folder (in the ipod).
An file created using the "Movie to iPod" export option is (supposedly) compatible with playback on an iPod. This process does not, however, create a Podcast. To turn you iPod compatible file into a Podcast, run it through an application like Podcast Maker. This will mark the file internals properly, upload the file to your server, and take care of XML/RSS requirements.

  • Itunes7 and Video Ipod

Hi! I am experiecing some problems with my ipod since I installed Itunes 7. I have a Video Ipod and everytime I want to sync songs on it it gives me a (-39) error. And when I want to update the software it says it cannot find the firmware file. I have Itunes7. Please help!!!

you know if your usb port on your computer is 2.0 version? maybe you have the 1.1 version.. you can know that going to the device manager.... inside windows.. tell me if you don't know how, and I'll tell you...
now... if you plug.. your ipod to a usb hub, maybe it is not passing power to the ipod.. try connecting the ipod direct to the port...
tell me how you're plugging your ipod,

  • ITune 7 and video ipod - can someone please explain this?

Is there any chance that iTunes could somehow be forced to allow uploads of movies and TV shows to the iPod with 1.2 update?
My real question is, someone above says 1.2 is only for other ipods, not 5g video. Can someone confirm or deny this?
    The current situation here is:
    - iTunes 7 wants to update the iPod software, but when I agree to this, it ejects the ipod and the progress gauge keeps showing indefinitely.
    - If I stop the iposervice, the update fails (of course!) with the 1417 error.
    Multiple times:
+ I have reinstalled iTunes7 twice following all the instructions about deleting temp and iptune directories, etc.
+ I have tried disconnecting and resetting during the original update dialog.
+ I have disabled all services and tried all this again
    The two problems remain:
iPod not recognized by iTunes 7 (but works perfectly with iTunes 6 so it isn't a hardware or Windows problem).
Forcing recognition by stopping and starting the ipodservice works, but the upgrade to 1.2 fails.
I could live with all the above by going back to v6, but
V6 refuses to upload purchased video content to the iPod without the updated software.
iPod 5g video   Windows XP Pro   normally a reasonable person

instead of stopping the ipodservice, try eboncairn's
does that get you past the 1417?
I did that. Notice that you don't address my question. I found a way to get things working and I'll post it in a second under a new title because I'm guessing a lot of desperate people will want to try it. First here's the answer I was looking for:
When IT "suggests" yopu upgrade the 5g to 1.2, the initial gauge comes up for about 40 seconds. Then a dialog comes up and after you deal with that about 1 minute 30 secs will go by.
Then, the Apple logo will appear on the pod and a guage will show the update loading for about 1 minute.
Finally there's a reboot of about 20 seconds at which time I came in my^H^H I saw the iPod in the iRuines 7 window.
I will post all the $**** I had to do to get this working under the title, "IT7 1.2 5g update - worked for me"
Two days of dicking around to watch a movie I'd already paid for.

  • Are there any DVD copiers and Video- iPod converters out there?

I want something other than DVD Decrpyter and Videora, because they aren't working for me. Anything else?

    http://www.alltomp4.com/

I'm using both alternately and are both good. No need for decrypter. By the way, these are not free as well but mine are.

  • Change video streams at a chapter marker

Is it possible to target a video stream (angle) at a chapter marker so that the stream automatically switches from another stream? I have a project with 3 video streams and 1 audio stream. I want to be able to switch the video streams at specific points in the program without losing sync. Any help would be apppreciated.
    Thanks,

What I did so far is set a chapter marker right before the chapter marker where I want to to change (ex. I want the subtitle to start at 2:30, I put another marker at 2:29 and attach a script to the end jump)
    my script is:
    movGPRM0, SPRM7
    Set System Stream (Subtitle1)(On) if (GPRM 0 = 3)
---*It's the 3rd chapter in the track
My problem is that after it executes the script and turns on the subtitles, is that it repeats and loops on itself (ex. it loops from 2:29-2:30)
-If I put an exit command, it doesn't resume playback. How can I just have it execute the script at the chapter marker and resume seamlessly??
    Thanks!

  • In DVD SP when setting a target use track or chapter marker?

If you have muliple tracks, slideshows and menus in your project and the tracks have only one chapter marker and you have the option of setting as a target, the track or the chapter marker which should you use or does it matter? Also would the same rule apply for setting the "next or "previous" targets in the advanced connections? I hope I am being clear on this, if not I can add more info.

    Jeff
In DVD SP there will be some limits on how you can move markers, they will not be frame accurate.
I usually use the key commands to jump back and forth between markers, then use inspector to nudge
You can also try to just export the Final Cut movie with the new marker positions and use that to set the markers in DVD SP then use the previously encoded video
Take a look here for this workaround that is good if markers do not show up and also will do what you need now

  • IDVD will not recognize iMovie chapter marker updates

I have also posted this to the iDVD forum. I am authoring a video in iMovie 6.0.3, have marked about 24 chapters in it, and and have put it into iDVD 6. I wanted to move one marker by a few seconds, so I removed it in iMovie, and added a new one where I wanted it to be. I re-opened the file in iDVD and it asked me if I wanted to accept the modifications to the iMovie file, to which I responded yes. It is bad enough that doing so wipes out the careful edits I had done for the pictures on all the chapter buttons (I am using "Reflection Dark" theme), but worse than that, iDVD simply refuses to accept the new chapter marker, and clicking on its button instead takes me to the next chapter. So there are now two adjacent buttons going to the same chapter marker, and none going to this modified one. This is simply absurd. Does anyone know how to get round this, and make iDVD accept the chapter marker changes?

Those are the only two apps that I'm aware of for the Mac for burning video DVDs.  There was DVD Studio Pro at one time but that's no longer available.
Just did a Google search and found this hit: How to Burn HD Video to DVD on Mac OS X. Its site indicates that there are menu selections.  If you try it and it's successfull be sure to post back with the results.

  • Export with chapter marker to iDVD

Ok something has slipped from my memory.
I'm trying to create a DVD of my recent project. I created 12 chapter markers with the first being 00:00:15:01 into it. I exported it to Quicktime movie (not conversion) I selected add Audio and Video and include Chapter Markers. I made it not self contained. But no chapters appeared in iDVD? I tried including All Markers and also tried including Studio Pro markers without success.
    Any suggestions?
    John

I've exported a sequence with chapter markers using Quicktime conversion and all the chapter markers show up except for the last one. Looking back at the original sequence in FCE, this last chapter marker is the only one that is a pink marker on the clip rather than a green marker on the timeline. I've tried several times to delete this chapter marker and re-create it. Each time, it reappears as a pink marker tied to the clip. Is there a way to force it into the timeline? The only difference between this chapter marker and the others is this one is located at the beginning of the credits at the end of a movie which were created using the Boris plug-in for a scrolling title. All the others appear correctly in the timeline were tied to normal video clips.
Would the fact that I'm creating a chapter marker in the part of the sequence created using the plug-in cause the marker to behave differently?

  • Set subtitle stream change at a chapter marker

Is there a way that I can set a subtitle stream to activate at a certain chapter point?
example: the video would be playing then at 2:30 the subtitle stream would automatically turn on?
    thanks

  • Exporting using chapter marks

I'm exporting a clip that i've already exported using chapter marks BUT this time the new clip which has minor changes is not being recognized in DVDSP???? I can export it without chapter marks and it shows up fine in DVDSP but I have to have the marks for the DVD for my client.
    Any suggestions???

The weird thing is is that I've been doing this for months now "with markers" and it has not given me any issues??? Now that I add a few extra still shots it exports fine, it plays in quicktime player but just will not get recognized in DVDSP when i go to add the folder??? I'll try it again with "DVDSP Markers" to see if that helps!
    Thanks!

  • Splitting Quicktime Movie at Chapter Marks

Is there a quick, easy way to take a QT movie with chapter marks, and split it into multiple files at the chapter marks? It seems like this ought to be simple, and yet I can't find any documentation about it.

Thank you, but my question was perhaps unclear. The reference you provided explains how to create a chapter track. That was not my question. I already HAVE a chapter track. What I want to do now is to split my QT file into several independent files, using the chapter track as cut points.
Use: I have a large (1.5 hour) movie that has been annotated with chapter marks every 3-4 minutes. Now I want to split the large file into many short, 3-4 minute independent movies. Is there some easy way to do this?

  • I want to create a "Play All" chapter marker that will play the video from start to finish in addition to the standard chapters I have-I guess I can auto start the DVD but would prefer a button-how and where would I put this "play all" marker??

I want to create a "Play All" chapter marker that will play the video from start to finish in addition to the standard chapters I have…I guess I can auto start the DVD but would prefer a button…how and where would I put this "play all" marker?? Thanks..

The start chapter button is a play the whole movie button regardless of how many other markers you have.
Once a DVD starts playing it continues to the end.
Chapters marker simply gives the viewer a place to start playback whether it be the start, middle or near the end.

  • Encore content was just loaded to my library and one of the menus will not allow me to drag a line from chapter marker to timeline?  I connected the menu item in the properties menu and the video box is blank?  Help

Can someone please help.  In the flowchart, I am unable to drag a line from menu item to chapter markers.  I get a circle with a line through it.  I had to connect menu with chapter markers through the properties panel.  The video asset for that chapter marker is not appearing in the box above the title of that menu?
