Chapter Markers won't show up on Chapter Menu when trying to burn a DVD.

Trying to burn an SD DVD disc in FCP X from the Share menu. I've set Orange Chapter Markers with Titles in my project from the timeline and these don't appear when I check the box to use chapter markers for Subtitles in the Destinations box to burn a DVD. I've set a photo in the main menu and it appears with the Title of my Project, but in the Chapter Menu it only shows the default list of Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc. Shouldn't my Chapters show up on the list after they've been set up on my timeline in the project? Also, I tried burning a disc with my Chapters not showing up on the chapter list and my disc only plays from the Main menu where the picture is inserted. There's a slash line in the Chapter list button stating I can't use that option and I can't play chapters. Trying to get this project out the door before January 20, 2013. Can someone please help?

Can you post some screen shots? The chapter marker dialog box in the timeline. The DVD menu.
What's playing back the DVD?
Have you tried it without the background image? Build a disk image rather than burn a disc.

Chapter markers won't show in dvd studio pro
I exported my file as a quicktime movie with dvd chapters in fcp. I checked the quicktime file and i can see all the chapter markers. I compressed it using compressor and then imported to DVDsp 4 as i usually do (my hard drive died and i recently reinstalled everything). I droped it in the menu using "create button and chapter indexes". I chose an apple template. I only get one chapter. what happened to my other ones?
I tried also as a test importing the uncompressed final cut file that has the chapters and repeated the above procedure, and still i only got one chapter?
I use to do this all the time, what am i doing wrong?Compressor should pass along the informations. Did you remember to specify each marker in FCP to be chapter markers. If so, try importing your reference file directly into DVDSP and dropping it into a track. The chapter markers should appear. You can them simply delete out the reference video and replace it with your final encoded MPEG 2.

Export to the desktop as a QuickTime movie and then right click on the QT movie file and burn to disk - teh person you give the gift to will have to have QT player on their computer to play the slideshow

Trying to connect my panasonic viera TV to my new Apple TV with a dynex 1080p hdmi cable but the hdmi option won't show up on my tv when I try to change the input. Any suggestions welcome!
Your profile claims Apple TV 2. 1080p is only available withe the Apple TV 3. Apple TV 2 is maxed out at 720p.

I am using Microsoft Outlook for work email and Safari won't display a drop down menu when I click on the paper clip for attachments. The IT person at work says the browser isn't working or Safari isn't updated and I should try a different browser. My other Comcast email is fine. I can attach anything. Any help would be great.
You could try enabling the Develop menu and try using IE but no guarantees. Not surprising that (Microsoft) Outlook isn't compatible with Apples' Safari.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Prerferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the Safari menu bar top of your screen click Develop > User Agent
Try IE 7, 8, or 9. -
When trying to burn a playlist to a blank CD, iTunes 10.3.1 won't recognize the blank CD I've inserted (Verbatim CD-R). I've burned using these CDs before, this is a recent problem. Not the burner, as I can burn using Toast. iMac with Snow Leopard 10.6.8
What kind of CD are you burning (Audio or MP3)?
If you're burning an MP3 CD, the songs must already
be in mp3 format.
If not, iTunes will tell you that you have no songs
in the playlist.

I was making an audio cd. But I have since found out what the problem was. The files in my PLAYLIST I converted to aiff, since they were SDll files (I thought they were similar to AIFF, and they PLAY on Itunes...just won't burn.) When I selected the songs in the playlist and converted them...I thought all those files were converted, They were not. The converted files went into my LIBRARY, even tho I selected the ones in the playlist...and once I exchanged the SDll versions of the songs in my playlist. THEN they burned fine...but still...it's confusing..you say convert..it says it's been converted..and what they don't say is it's not been converted inside the playlist...where I had selected the songs...It just ADDED aiff versions..but only in the library...Anyway, that's what happened. But it's strange that it PLAYS SDll but won't burn them....and you'd think, logically..the ones you selected would change...but they don't. Playlists are mainly pointers to the actual files I guess...a sort of Alias..
At least it works now. But it's sad that the latest itunes does more, but also does LESS...as I used to be able to burn SDll files. Now I'll have to convert all my files to AIFF, and mp3's as I assume my ipod video won't play anything but mp3's? -

DaveThis "Share" feature behaves the same in both FCP7 and FCPX (it may actually be the only thing they have in common).
Since the specification for DVD-Video does not support titled chapter points, the text that you have entered for the marker does not appear on the burned DVD. You only get DVD chapter points at the same time index as the time code position of the FCP marker (and even then, it's at the closest i-frame of the MPEG2 GOP structure). Also, the first frame is always "Chapter 1". So, if your first FCP7/X marker at two minutes is named "Later that day...", then on the burned DVD it will appear as "Chapter 2".
Checking "use chapter markers for Subtitles" was a good guess; however, this feature turns extended markers into subtitles (a very, very quick way to create subtitles, but limited when compared to what can be done in DVD Studio Pro).
Could a QuickTime movie burned to a DVD-R/+R work instead of a DVD? QuickTime chapter markers support text.

Chapter markers won't work when Blu-ray Disc burned
I just burned a Blu-ray Disc directly in FCP7 (using Sharing). My 5 chapter markers are nowhere to be found when I play the disc back in my player.
What happened? I don't want the chapter markers as subtitles -- simply want them to work as chapter markers.
I'm sure I've burned Blu-ray before and the chapter markers exported just fine. Don't know what's wrong, this time.Larry, in Compressor, open the preview window and be sure the markers are there before encoding. If not, create a chapter list in DVDSP format and import it. I'm not sure why they don't show sometime, but I believe that if they appear in the Compressor preview window, they will be there on the final disc.
You can export a marker list from FCP and manipulate the text file (I use TextEdit's replace function) to turn it into this format:
00:23:24:15 Chapter one
00:35:12:19 Chapter two etc.
This can be imported in the Compressor preview window. -
Chapter Markers do not show on iDVD
I edited a movie in FCE, DV 16:9 aspect ratio. added chapter markers, but in order to preserve the 16:9 aspect ratio when I exported the project to Quick Time I encoded it as HD 16:9, It worked preserving the aspect ratio but in the process I lost the chapter markers. When I tried the converted project in iDVD the chapter markers were gone. Anybody out there has a solution for this issue?
You might try importing the QT into iMovie and then sharing to iDVD after making making sure the chapters are marked. But if that doesn't help then you may wish to read these:

Premiere pro cc chapter markers aren't showing in encore 6
I have a project that I originally created in PP5 using Encore Chapter Markers. I have since upgraded to Adobe CC. When I exproted my project from PPCC and opened it in Encore 6 the chapter markers are not there. How do I fix this?
I see 2 other instances of CC users complaining that chapter info from PR CC is not coming into EN CS6. There were other issues, so that was not tracked down.
Are there users out there for whom PR CC Encore chapters are coming into EN CS6 okay?

My new Nano won't show all the album artwork when playing
When i'm listening to music on the nano, some album artworks will show and others won't. All my songs on iTunes have artwork so i don't understand why they won't show up on the iPod.
This isn't a drastc problem, just really gay.

Can someone tell me how to show a different main menu when someone is logged in?
When a customer is logged in they can see secure pages. I also want a different menu to appear when logged in, and when logged out I want the menu to go back to normal. Can someone assist please? Let me know if you need more information from me. Thank you in advance!!
I recommend referring to the following forum post on how to achieve this: Re: Secure Zone - show, hide, or disable content when a user is recognized as logged in.
To summarize, you would need to use the module {module_isloggedin} which will render a 0 or a 1 based on whether the customer is logged in or not. With a combination of CSS/JS, you can specify a different menu to display based on whether they're logged in or not. -

The top one (which I removed much of the info manually) imports fine although, although I had to change frame marks from:
01:03:05;21 to 01:03:05:21
(note semicolon changed to colon) Would not import till I changed this.
Why would FCP help suggest one thin regarding markers and DVDSP have something else? What am I missing here?just export a qt ref from fcp and import that into dvdsp and lay it on to the dvd video track. It'll carry your markers over. You can then delete the video from the track and replace it with your compressed version, but the markers from the qt ref will remain.

I cannot see my son's iPod now when I plug it in to my laptop. It gives error message saying that iPod needs upgraded 10.6.3 to work.
We cannot update iPod to 10.6.3 for some reason. But what is really strange is that it won't even show up when we plug it in to try to update! I do not have a MAC please don't say that's the problem haha, i have an older laptop with Windows running, maybe Windows 2000, not sure (how would I find out what is installed on the comupter?) My ipod works fine and so do our other 2. It's just his iPod? I have an older 64g touch, but his siblings all have the same 4th generation, bought at the same time from the same store.

I imported a jpg file that the system covers up with purple overlay except for a small portion of the top. Sometimes I can see the whole photo. What's causing this and how can I get rid of the problem. Importing it again does not help.
