Chapter Not Working

I have created a menu with a single play button that starts a movie lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. I've inserted 5 chapter points in the movie. This is something I have done many times in the past and never had a problem, until now.
When previewing the movie in the monitor window there is a small arrow to the right and left of a number (to the right of the play arrow) that indicates which chapter is presently playing. I can click on those arrows and jump forward and backward between chapters without a problem. But when I preview the movie from the menu and simulate the remote action by clicking on the right double arrow to jump to the next chapter I run into a problem. The move starts at the beginning when I click on the Play button as normal, and clicking the right double arrow jumps the movie to the next chapter. Until I get to chapter 4. While playing chapter 3 and then clicking the right double arrow instead of jumping to chapter 4 it returns to the main menu.
I've tried removing all of the chapter markers and placing them again but it continues to work the same. I have not tried to burn a disc to see if this same behavior shows up there as I simply don't want to waste the time and a disc before checking to see if someone here has an idea what might be going on.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually this is a Blu-ray project. I had to run out for a few hours so just before leaving I decided to transcode all the assets. I just tried it again and now it works perfectly. I can't explain it and doubt that the problem was related to transcode, but I changed nothing else before or after.
One question though, you mentioned to make sure there is no end action on Chapter 3. I've never considered applying an end action to a chapter, but I would be interested in knowing how to do that. While troubleshooting this problem I was trying to find a way to assess what was happening with each chapter but I couldn't find a way to add actions to individual chapters. Can you explain the steps to do that, or direct me to where instructions might reside??

Go to next chapter not working with Blu-ray disc

I’m using Adobe Encore CS 5 to create Blu-ray disc but when the disc is created the go to next chapter buttons do not work. In Encore when using the preview option the go to next chapter buttons do work but once the Blu-ray is created and I try to go to next chapter while playing the disc I receive a message that reads "operation not available". I have created multiple Blu-Ray projects, used different brand Blu-ray media and even used my Windows system and my Mac system but the same issue keeps happening. I’ve also played the Blu-ray on multiple Blu-ray players and it happens on all of them. The Blu-ray burner I’m using is a LG BE14NU40 External Blu-ray burner and I have contacted them but they tell me it is a problem with Encore not the burner.

You'll find lots of issues. This function may work if the project is very simple. But perhaps not.
You might post a screenshot of your flowchart.

Encore cs 5.1 blu ray chapter not working.....

I've a tone of problems with this version. Encore showing error codes 14, 25.....Some of the chapters working fine but others not. I've tried several ways to solve the issues but no hope. It seems you need full knowledge of blu ray theories to burn a blu ray!!!!

Okay, we are starting to make progress, but why are you shooting in HDV? That is a lossy system using non-sqyuare pixels so the whole thing is effectively getting converted. No wonder it took 21 hours and it looks to me as if you exported to the wrong settings - .m4v is regular .264, not BluRay. See Stan's suggestion.
We still need to see the exact error messages - it looks likely you are out of HDD space. Remember that Premiere & Encore use 32-bit float audio temp files, and the media cache databases will be enormous.....how much HDD free is remaining?

Inserting Chapter Not Working

Hi,
I just want to insert a chapter to my iBook but after the blue bar finishes filling up the new chapter does not show up.
What can be the reason? It's a chapter from a Pages files.

Chapter Marker Buttons Not Working & .dvdproj Files Too Large

Chapter marker buttons do not work after saving as VIDEO_TS folder. Only first chapter marker button works in DVD player after VIDEO_TS files are created. The other buttons do nothing. My chapters were created automatically in iDVD. Also, original .dvdproj file mushrooms from 132KB to 3.2Gig upon each "save as VIDEO_TS folder" process. Then reopening original .dvdproj file takes 5 minutes, and I must "save as" to create a new copy to bring the file size back to 132KB. This is horrendous. "Save As" file works fine, but makes a new huge .dvdproj file after creating another VIDEO_TS folder. Unable to complete any project in '08 iDVD.

+Saving as VIDEO_TS folder: Saving a project as a VIDEO_TS folder allows you to play it back, on your computer, using software such as VLC media player. Saving as a VIDEO_TS folder is similar to saving as a disc image: the output quality is the same, and both methods take about the same amount of time to complete. *You can’t burn a disc from a VIDEO_TS folder*.+

This will isolate any encoding/burning issues you may encounter. Once the disc image is created, double-click the .img and burn the virtual disc that should appear on your desktop, using Toast to burn the DVD. Disk Utility to burn the .img file. Usually, you can select a burning speed in Disk Utility.
There are variations to this process based on which OS X you are using...
Open Disk Utility (in Utilities folder in Applications folder), click on the virtual disc (maybe the .img) in the left-hand window. Click the Burn icon. A new window should drop down and your SuperDrive tray will open after clicking the Burn icon. Insert a recordable DVD. (Verbatim DVD-R preferred by me.) Click the Close button. Wait. Select a burn speed. If you hold your mouse cursor over the pop-up it says: "Select a slower speed to work around burn failures," so select 4x or slower for best results. Then click the Burn button.

Chapter Skip Reverse does not work

I have a track that is concert footage with chapter markers set at each starting of a new song. The client wants to watch a song and be able to skip to the next chatper. The chapter skip forward works correctly, but the chapter skip reverse skips to the previous chapter not the nearest chapter. I have seen commercial DVD and music CD and even iTunes work this way. Why or what I am doing work?

what program is this? it does not sound like dvd studio. if this in FCP then this what i do, i export it to quicktime and then import it into imovie and add chapter marker. then export it back out.

CHAPTER BUTTON NOT WORKING ON FINAL BD-DISC

I read several posts here about chapter issues but none of them addressed exactly to my problem.
So I have my HD (blu-ray) project on Encore 5 and have set 8 chapter markers. Each one is linked to a menu button that works perfectly.
It`s a simple project and works fine on the preview. But not on the final disc when playing in the BD player.
The next button on the remote control does not works. It also shows chapter 1/1.
The end actions set on each chapter is a link to the next chapter. E.g - The end actions set to chapter 2 a links to chapter 3. Except to the last chapter that has no end actions set.
Am I doing something wrong?
I appreciate any helps!

Search is not working in HCM9.1 , pt8.52 after install

Hi I just installed HCM9.1 with Peopletools 8.52 on windows xp 32bits with Oracle 11g. This is my first install ever.
When I login online the search does not work (when i click search on any page that has a search record it just shows that progress gif image but nothing happens.)
I logged in using PS/PS
any ideas of what I did wrong during the installation?
These are the steps I followed.
1-Installed Oracle11g
2-Installed web logic
3-Installed Tuxedo and defined TUX_DIR
4-Installed Peopletools in C:\pt8.52 and HCM9.1 in c:\hcm9.1 nad Verity
5-Manualy created a database called HRSD using initHRSD.ora and configured the listner and defined ORACLE_SID , ORACLE_HOME and created the spfile.
then ran the scripts in the documentation to create namespaces , roles , dbowner etc
6-configured the application designer
7-loged into datamover and installed a demo hcm9.1
8-ran grant.sql
9-ran pt851u.sql and pt852u.sql.
10-configured the application server and booted it.
Created a new domain and configured it and started it. 8 processes start
11-configured the web server and started the PIA.
12-loged in successfully but the search does not work

First of all I am very surprised you were able to get so far with the installation, since PeopleTools 8.52 is not certified on 32 bits systems and definitely not on Windows XP.
However,
Your are trying to install HCM 9.1 which is delivered with PeopelTools 8.50 and you are installing PeopleTools 8.52 so, you should have run the scripts as defined in chapter Updating PeopleTools System Tables in the installation manual to update your HCM 9.1 to PeopelTools 8.51.
Did you run these scripts?
If not please complete these steps as described in the installation manual.
And I also do not see you mention you have installed any PeopleTools patch. We are currently at 8.52.05. It is common at installations to patch PeopelTools to the last patch level.

Placing components without layout manager not working

Hey there, I am working on a java game version of pong which I have begun to try and do using Java Swing. The problem I am currently having is reposition the components in the main window part of the game which is were the user can start a new game or close the program. I having tried using the absolute positioning by setting the layout manager to null but then everything goes blank. I can't figure out why this is not working. Here is the code so far...

Simple button highlights in PSD menu not working properly in Encore

I'm having some trouble making even basic menus this week - I'm working on a couple of projects that need simple menus on their DVDs, but I can't get them to work.
For one project, it's a simple menu with a photo as the background and two buttons - 'Play' and 'Behind the Scenes'. Each button group consists of a text layer with the button title and a layer called '(=1) Highlight'. The highlight layer is a simple straight line underneath the text. Nothing is overlapping, however the line is not appearing on one of the buttons. The group is detected as a button in Encore, and works when it is linked to the timeline, but the line does not appear
With the other project I've been working on this week, there's a few menu pages - a main menu, and some chapter select sub menus. These menus look a bit fancier, but the buttons are still fairly simple - they basically consist of a line of text, but this time the highlight is a rectangular outline. I'm having what looks like the same problem with these menus - the highlights aren't displaying correctly. Most of the outlines are missing their bottom lines - so only a three-sided box is appearing.
I've made plenty of menus before using the same method, and more complicated ones than this too, without running into any issues. I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is, despite starting over and making the menus from scratch several times, and making them one step at a time, importing them into Encore at every step to test. At some point, one or more of the highlights will always stop working. Despite this systematic approach, I'm still baffled. I'm using Photoshop CS5.1 and Encore CS5.1. After running into problems on one computer I tried making menus from scratch on another computer with the same version software but had the same problem.
Has anyone got any suggestions of things I should try that might solve this problem? I can send an example of a menu that's not working for me if anyone would like to take a look.

I have tried everything suggested here, plus lots more, since I last posted. There are glitches no matter what I do. I don't think it's anything to do with what I'm doing in Photoshop as I've tried using some menus from the Encore library and I'm having the same problem with those. I've also tried using buttons from the Encore library on my menus with the same result.
But that got me to thinking - perhaps it's just a glitch with Encore's previews. So I tried actually building a DVD image, even with the menus that appeared to be broken, and they turned out to be fine. So it must just be a glitch in the Encore preview.
I've also discovered another bug while doing this - if you create a menu in Encore, it's always NTSC, even if the project is PAL. It makes a 4:3, 720x480 menu with a PAR of D1/DV NTSC 0.91. Surely, if you've set up a PAL project, and you create a new menu, it should create one that's actually PAL?

MIGO in the program 'ZMIGO_TEST'.
When we are testing the Program 'ZMIGO_TEST' through SE38 it is running successfuly and document is also posted but problem is when we schedule the same program 'ZMIGO_TEST' in SM36, same BDC code for MIGO Transaction is not working and giving the Error in IST_BDCMSGCOLL as folloow.

"gdmessage" does not work in 7.1.3

It seems that the "gdmessage" does not work properly in version 7.1.3.
I attach a simple example consisting of a GUI with two buttons:
- Quit
- gdmessage
The callback for the "gdmessage" button execute the following command:
gdmessage(T,"MainWin",1);
This will get trapped by debugger on line 111 of the
$ISIHOME/solaris_mx_71.3/xmath/modules/gui/gdmessage.msf
with the error message "Cannot evaluate guiunmanage with this 1x1 String."
Note that the same example works fine in 6.1.3 and 7.0.1.
Any hints on why this does not work in 7.1.3 or any example that shows it
works in this version is appreciated.

The files that you are using are based on older gui commands. In MATRIXx 6.0 a transition was made to a newer set of commands that start with ui. The switch was made to make it easier to move programs between Unix and Windows platforms, although some small differences still exist. Old programs that use the gui commands can be updated using a perl script. More information about this can be found at the end of Chapter 9 of the Xmath Users Guide.
I have done the conversion for the program that you attached. The gdmessage command has now been replaced with pguimessage. The conversion produces two files. The first is an updated ex.msc file that uses the new commands, the other is ex_build.msf that corresponds to your resource file. I have attached th
e files as they were after the conversion. Some small changes are needed in order for it to look correct in Windows. I have attached these in the post that follows.

JMS-send operation not working in a SessionBean [OC4J10.1.3.1.0-standalone]

Salut,
i am envisaged with a nasty problem calling a message-send operation from
a method (transaction-type="required") inside a session bean (transaction-type="container").
This problem occured in OC4J 10.1.3.1 and may fail also in 10.1.3.0. The same
code run under OC4J 10.1.2.x without any problems.
The adressed JMS type is a OEMS JMS and fails to work regardless if the JMS ressource
is using a file-persistence or is running in-memory. Anyway the factory is a
jms/XAQueueConnectionFactory, so the created queue must support XA transactions.
Another test with an advanced-queue JMS provider succeeded.
As a consequence of this, i believe that the OEMS provider shall cause the problem.
The original code is quite unspectaculary:
* The non-surprising thing is, that the QueueConnectionFactory
* is a XAQueueConnectionFactory.

The funny thing is, that the queue-session behaves as it is working outside
of a transaction context. Inside the JMX-Console you will notice the
arrival of a message and ... a cancellation of it. This would not surprise
me, if this code sequence would have been called outside of
a Session bean, cause the absence of a queue-session.commit does not
fix the send message in the jms ressource.
As a matter of fact the code is executed inside a Session bean and
the connection.createQueueSession will notice this and forget both
given parameters, and let the covering transaction take over of the
JMS ressource. But this does not happen (completly).
The acknowledge-mode has been modified (SESSION_TRANSACTED)
but the code still does not work!
After i recognized that the enlist-ment did not work, i
decided to enfore the use of XA transaction by using the
XA classes and methods of JMS.
I startet to cast the jndi-references and:

Either the session must be enlisted (using the JMS Connector or JMS Adapter) to participate in the global transaction, or a non-XA connection and a non-XA session should be used to not participate in the global transaction.
How bizarre, i thought the enlistment has been taken place by invoking
the c.createXAQueueSession or c.createQueueSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);

OC4J JMS was changed to not auto-enlist in XA transactions.
In releases prior to 10.1.3 XA usage was not actually supported. (It did not meet all of the XA requirements when used with OC4J.)
Auto-enlisting by the JMS provider was also a spec violation, which was causing trouble for people who needed to do out-of-transaction work and had no way to do it.
In 10.1.3 XA usage is fully supported, but only when you use the JMS Connector. You can find the JMS Connector ("Oracle's Generic JMS Resource Adapter") demos here:

Reason rewire not working with Logic 9.1.8,Help!

I need help on Rewiring Reason 6.5.3 with Logic 9.1.8
I've done everything that's been told how to rewire Reason and Logic (tutorials on youtube / on the Propellerhead website) I had no problem with it before 6.5 / 6.5.1
But after I updated to 6.5.3.I just cant get rewire working. When I click Reason after I open Logic. The Logic library is empty. I do have automap 4 as well. I'm not sure if that's the problem.
I even checked Reason's Option>Sync. Rewire is not able to be selected and the rewire light on the hardware interface is never on.
I've tried uninstall reinstall from 6.5 ,but still not working.....
Can someone help.....This is suppose to be easy.....Thanks!

Password parameter not working while Installing the certificate hosted on a Web Application Server

We are trying to secure our SAP BI Mobile connection with certificates. According to the manual we are storing a password protected certificate on a network location.
On our ipad when I open the link: (according to manual: Administrator and Report Designer's Guide , chapter 4.14.2.1 Installing the x509 Certificate on Device)
SAPBI://action=downloadcert&certurl=<Download URL>&Password=abc123
It should open and install the certificate in the app without asking for the password. But thats not working. It does ask for the password. So I can access the certificate location and after entering the password it works. But I am giving the password parameter in the link so why is this not working?
The guide is a bit contradictory, and I quote:

My question: what is the use of this password parameter if you still have to enter it manually?
Does anybody know if this should work, and what I might be doing wrong?
