Chapters In Audio Books??

Is there a way to implement chapters into audio books that act like skipping points? If I have a rater long audiobook it would be helpful to not have to fast forward all the way through because I accidently hit the "skip" button or something. (I already have the ability for it to pick up where I left off)

I dont know how to do that. But i can help on your accidental "skip song" problem. Press the center button once or twice, and then you can use the click wheel to scroll through the song or book.

  • Marking chapters in audio books

I am trying out buying audio books at iTunes Store. I bought one and burned it to a cd with no trouble. However, afterwards I noticed that the whole book was divided into only 2 tracks. I had naively expected that each chapter would be marked as a track. I can't listen to it on a cd player for a few chapters and then easily go back to where I left off later. Is this how it is with all books bought at iTunes? If so, that is discouraging. Can I do something differently when I import or when I burn? Thanks for the help.

  • Chapters in audio book

    Hi,
Is there a way to add chapter "markers" to an audio book (it might be called a podcast marker). The listener will have an MP3 they can listen to on their computer, iPod or in a CD player.
    Thank you, Ken

Oh great,i haven't looked into creating enhanced podcasts in STP,i check it out,
    thanks

  • After I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS7 I can no longer see the individual chapters when playing my audio books.  Also I can't edit and copy multiple text messages.

After I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS7 I can no longer see the individual chapters when playing my audio books.  Also I can no longer edit a and copy multiple text messages like before. Is there a way to do these things I am missing?

Not only can i not see the individual chaptes -- apparently like you and everyone else suffering through the "improved" iOS7 -- when my audiobook repeats a "file" within  chapter, which it sometimes does, I cannot get "inside" the chapter and move forward to where I'm supposed to be.
Whatever happened to "if it ain broke.......???

  • HT3951 When I download audio books from the library why can't Isee the files in itunes. All of the chapters do not transfer.

When I download audio books from the library I can't find them in my itunes files.  All of the chapters do not transfer to my itouch even though they all were downloaded.

I finally figured it out!  On the book page of itunes I went to preferences and then import settings and changed the settings from aac to mp3 and when I went back to the page there was my itouch and clicked on it and then books and there were all my books and files! deleted 3 chapters that were greyed out and transfered them again and it worked.  Thank you for your help.

  • My audio book is missing chapters what do I do

My audio book is missing chapters what do I do?

Go to Itune, log into your account, go to Purchase History, it will show all of your purchase. Write down purchase order# numbers for those books.  Email to the Itune costomer service with those order numbers and ask them to restore those purchase back to your account.   They promtly replied by my emai.  It was relatively easy and worth it.

  • Audio book chapters mixed up

On my iTouch my current audio book shows 9 chapters with really odd track times like 23 min 17 min etc The book is many hours long.
On iTunes it says 5 chapters
To top that the book has many chapters as I'm on 51 now.
nothing matches at all. If I forget my spot when I go back the numbers on the iTouch it makes no sense. It will be chapter 35 the iTouch will say it is the second of five, but it shows 9 tracks and the first two only add up to 30 minutes
There is no way to tell where you are, if you change apps.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to reply, Santo!
I tried your suggestion, but it didn't seem to help, but then I noticed something that I hadn't noticed before. Half of the discs were titled "Disc XXX" and the other half were titled "Disk XXX". (Notice the spelling of "Disc" vs. "Disk".) Once I made the spelling uniform, everything was fine.
    Thanks again!

  • Since I've updated to iOS 6 I am unable to use the next/back buttons from Headphone for audio book chapters.

Since I've updated from iOS 5 to iOS 6 I am unable to use the next/back buttons from Headphone for audio book chapters.
This is working fine for albums but are broken for audio books.
The back button refers always to the first chapter of the audio book (very annoying if you are in the middle of an audio book) and the nex button goes one level higher back to the selection of the audio book itself.
In iOS 5.0 it was still possible to navigate throught the audio book chapters using these buttons.
This still happens in iOS 6.1.
    Is this a known bug?
    Does any solution exist?
    Thx,
    Oliver

To gdgmacguy your a f****** idiot for one I'm having the same problem as pennymar. And you tell me to quit whinning. You got more problems then the iOS 6 you did not answer my question nor the other 13 or whatever you replied to within a 30 min time frame. You must got nothing better to do then to harass people and to pretend you know something about apple products. Which you don't from what I've read the other advices you should have gave to other people. But you didn't you replied a question back to the people asking a question. So if your not gonna use these community forums the right way don't use them at all.

  • Audio book chapters play randomly though shuffle is set to off

I have turned off the 'shuffle' option in the Music section, but my audio book(s) still play chapters in a random mode.  From intro and chapter 1 to chapter 18 or 22.  Also the reset procedure seems not to work.  I wanted to try this to see if it would re-set the chapter issue, but I don't seem to be able to hold the wake/sleep touch and press the sound down button for 6 seconds as described in the manual.  Any ideas?

  • Audio books (Chapters Missing)

    I have an iPhone 5s, IOS 7.1.
In previous versions, I was able to go directly to a chapter in my audio book (I converted my CDROMS).
In IOS 7 and 7.1, I can no longer see the individual chapters. I only see entire book which you cannot easily move to different parts of the book. The scrubber is not that easy to move to a certain section of the book.
Is showing Chapters no longer an option or is it an option I cannot locate?
Were there changes in the operating system that I need to convert all my books again so  I can see the chapters?
    Shawn

Copy them from the old computer, along with all your other content so that you don't waste bandwidth downloading it.

  • Audio book chapters won't sort in order

I'm downloading a book and either in audio book format or as music, I cannot get the chapters to sort in order on my iPod. They sort in order in iTunes, but when I download them to the iPod, they come in reverse order. That really doesn't do it for me when I'm driving and listening!

  • Purchased audio book lectures (m4b) are cut into 6 hr. sections without original chapters. Is there a solution?

I am a huge fan of The Teaching Company and The Modern Scholars Lectures. You can find a limited selection of these audio books on iTunes, but the original "chapters," which are distinct lectures, are now clumped together in huge 6-hr sections of 13-18 lectures, and finding precise chapters is extremely difficult. These lectures seem to be among the most expensive media on iTunes ($30-60 a pop), and my very old iPod with another lecture--one I bought again for the iPad Air, has labeled chapters for every half hour lecture. Is there a a way to chapterize--or, better yet, to automatically revert to the original increments for these courses?

I know of no reason your audio would reduce and background audio would get louder. Premiere Elements isn't capable of doing that.
In same cases audio will quit completely partway into a clip. This is because the program has not fully conformed the audio file. But this is definitely not the case here.
You've given lots of detailed information, but the one thing I don't see is what model of camcorder your video came from and how you got the video from this camcorder to your computer. That could be relevant. (I assume the change in audio is not on the original footage.)
You can also post a screen capture of a segment of the timeline where this change in audio occurs.
But, given your description, this really does not seem to be a software issue -- or anything we can help you with. We'll give it a try though.

  • If I import audio books into the music section of itunes it lists the books as albums and all the chapters as tracks fine when I sync them to my ipod classic, but not if I import them as audiobooks, any ideas please?

If I import audio books into the music section of itunes it lists the books as albums and all the chapters as tracks fine when I sync them to my ipod classic, but not if I import them as audiobooks and then sync them, any ideas please?

If you import the audiobook as an audiobook to your iTunes Library, it will be listed in the Books section of your Library. You may need to turn on Books in order to see them. If you cannot see the File/Edit... etc. menu, use CTRL B on your keyboard to make that menu bar appear. Then go to Edit/Preferences>Books and put a tick in the box.
But, if the imported audiobook shows up in the Music section of your iTunes Library, highglight the files (in iTunes) and select File/Get Info/Options/Media Kind>Audiobook. These files will now transfer to the Books section of iTunes.
Once on an iPod Classic, look under the Audiobooks menu. Again, you may need to change the settings in the Settings menus, in order to have the Audiobooks option shown on the Main Menu and/or the Music Menu.

  • My Audio Books are in my playlist and the chapters are all correctly arranged in my I tunes. I watched it sync to my nano but after it was all done... A few of the chapters were out of order in the nano.

  • Missing Audio Book Chapters

Can anyone tell me where the chapters went for the audio books in the Music App on mt iPad?  Works fine on my iPhone 4s.
When listening to a book and I select what appears to be the book (looking for chapters) I get a list of all the books in the category, not the chapters.

Log into your Itune account.  Go to purchase history which shows all of your purchase date and order number and what you bought.  Send itune cusomer service to ask them to restore those particular order numbers for audio books.  They will restore those for you to download again. Audiobook has tendacied not to be shown on iTune as I have no problem for other song and movie purchases.
