Character Strings in Sap Script

Hi,
how to create character strings in Sap Script?
thanks,
fractal

Hi,
Defining Character Formats Character formats in forms determine how text is formatted within paragraphs. They are a refined form of text layout.
1. Choose Goto  Character strings. This takes you to the request screen for standard attributes of character strings. 2. Choose Edit  Create element. A dialog box appears. 3. Enter a character tag and description. The character tag is created. The system sets all standard attributes to * . You can overwrite this setting. 4. Choose Attributes  Font to define the font attributes for the character format. Font attributes provide a more detailed definition. 5. Enter values in the input-enabled fields. The fields Bold, Italics, and Underlined are automatically displayed with * . You can overwrite this with your entry. 6. Repeat the definition of character tags and their standard and font attributes until all required character formats have been defined. 7. Save the character formats

  • Search for a string in SAP Script

    Hello Experts,
    Is there a way to search for a string in all Z SAP scripts, like ABAP source scan?
    Regards,
    Hari.

    Try using function module "READ_FORM" (you will have to write a simple z-program to find all SAPscripts in your system then use this function module to search the SAPScript Forms for a particular string).
    All you have to do is supply the "FORM" name and it will return all of the Pages, Paragraphs, and Texts etc....
    More specifically, try looping at the "FORM_LINES" internal table result and you will see the SAPScript text there....
    Have fun    !

  • Printing Strings in SAP Scripts

    Hello
    I need to print a string in Script that is not defined anywhere in the script.
    example, I need to print 60 CAD/ 100 LE.
    I have text symbols for all these(60,CAD,100,LE) values except '/'.How can I print this in Script. Help me with the syntax.
    Thanks
    Tharani

    Maybe you can try this:
    /: DEFINE &CH1& = '60'.
    /: DEFINE &CH2& = 'CAD'.
    /: DEFINE &CH3& = '100'.
    /: DEFINE &CH4& = 'LE'.
    /: DEFINE &LOM& = '/'.
    /: DEFINE &CH& = '&CH1& &CH2& &LOM& &CH3& &CH4&'.
    /  &CH&

  • How to find length of a character variable in sap script

    Hi,
    I have stored a line of text in one variable. If the text exceeds more than 50 characters, the remaining characters will be printed in next line.
    For this i have given code as :
    <I>&S_BOL_SUMMARY-TXT(50)&</>
    <I>&S_BOL_SUMMARY-TXT+50&</>
    The problem is i have to print the second line only when the text exceeds more than 50 characters. So how can i give the condition for that?
    Ezhil

    Hi,
    Try the following,
    data: len type i.
    len = strlen (S_BOL_SUMMARY-TXT ).
    if len > 50.
    &S_BOL_SUMMARY-TXT(50)&
    &S_BOL_SUMMARY-TXT+50&
    else.
    &S_BOL_SUMMARY-TXT(50)&
    endif.

  • Sap script question - char format

    Hi,
    What is the use of Selection checkbox available in character format of sap script?
    What willl happen if we check or uncheck that?
    Appreciate your suggestions.
    Regards,
    Guru

    its not like that gurus......
    c if u tick that check box in the top there is a field called mark
    it will ON ......the marker is used
    Character string attribute: marker
    This character string attribute allows search keys to be specified in
    the information within the angled brackets of the character string. In
    the output format created by SAPscript, the search key is entered
    explicitly when such a character string occurs.
    Example: The character string "MK" is used for marking (the marking
    attribute is set). The search keys are then entered in the text editor
    as follows:
    This is a <MK:KEY1234>Search key</>
    The word "Search key" is therefore marked with "KEY1234".
    Marking keys may not be more than 50 characters long. The characters " "
    (blank), "=", and ";" are not allowed in the key.
    if it is usefull....Plz Rewards

  • String search in SAP Script and Smartforms

    Hi All,
    We have an urgent requirement where we need to search for a character string in all SAP Scripts and Smartforms in our system.
    It would also help if we can get the names of programs/function modules which are internally generated for the same.
    Any pointers on the same would be helpful.
    Regards,
    Saurabh

    You can create a variable window in the main window.
    You can restrict the last item of the main window by varying the size of main window. In your wite-form ,
    CALL FUNCTION 'WRITE_FORM'
          EXPORTING
             element                  = 'ITEM'
          function                 = 'SET'
          type                     = 'BODY'
          window                   = 'MAIN'
          EXCEPTIONS
            element                  = 1
            function                 = 2
            type                     = 3
            unopened                 = 4
            unstarted                = 5
            window                   = 6
            bad_pageformat_for_print = 7
            spool_error              = 8
            codepage                 = 9
            OTHERS                   = 10.
        IF sy-subrc <> 0.
    DO this. in the bottom of the main window, create a variable window.
    you can add your text in the variable window inside main window.
    it will be displayed just after the item ends.

  • Unable to print special character in SAP script

    Hi,
      There is an address which needs to be hardcoded in a SAP Script form.
    It looks like:
    Česká republika s.r.o
    Karla Engliu0161e 3219/4
    Česká republika
    IČO:  25635972
    The letters which has got a tilde and sign above them are appearing as a hash '#' in print. I have tried uploading it as an image and as standard text. But still not working. Can someone help please?
    Thanks in advance,
    Anita

    Hello,
    Is your SAP Unicode? If no, then this can get very messy. If yes, I'd start with checking if the font used by the SAPScript supports that character.

  • ORA-06502 (character string buffer too small) on import application via script

    Running apex 4.2.2.00.11
    oracle 10.2.0.5
    I'm using a script to import my development application to a few production applications.
    It worked great on apex 4.1.1, but now I get an 'ORA-06502 PL/SQL numeric of value error: character string buffer too small'
    In the command window, I see that the script fails after it starts on the plugins.
    My question: is this a bug in 4.2.2?
    I could be a incompatible plugin, but how can I found out which plugin?
    My script is quite simple:
    In a command window I run
    sqlplus SCHEMA/PASSWORD@SPIEU10 @_IMPORT_F102.sql
    The script is
    declare
    l_workspace_id number;
    begin
        -- determine the workspace id for the workspace FM in the target system
        select workspace_id into l_workspace_id from apex_workspaces where workspace = 'BY_APEX_SHARED';

        apex_application_install.set_workspace_id( l_workspace_id );
        -- override the original application id 102
        apex_application_install.set_application_id ( 102 );
        -- set a different application name and alias, it should be unique within an APEX instance
        apex_application_install.set_application_alias( 'MY_ALIAS' );
        apex_application_install.set_application_name( 'MY_APP_NAME' );
        -- Use fixed offset
        apex_application_install.set_offset( p_offset => 0);
        -- override the original parsing schema FM with a different value
        apex_application_install.set_schema( 'BY_SCHEMA' );
    end;

  • SAP script command for finding string length

    Hi ,
    Can anyone please let me know what is the equivalent command  to strlen() in sap script editor. I need to find the string length of a symbol in sap script editor itself without writing the logic in print program or by calling any includes in the sap script editor.
    Regards,
    Deepthi

    Hi Deepthi,
    As an alternative, you can use the perform statement in SAPscript so that it will execute a subroutine you implemented in another report.In the subroutine, you can do everything you want.
    Have a look at this link to find out how exactly.

  • Contains String (CS) in SAP Scripts

    Hi Friends,
    I have a requirement which we need to check ABAP statement CS is not working in SAP scripts is there any other way to use this ?
    The requirement is like as below:
    For Example:
    &VBDKA-SLAND&  is having the value of 'INDIA'.
    /:      IF &VBDKA-SLAND& CS 'DI'.
    AS   INDIAN
    /:      Endif.
    Regards,
    Dwaraka.

    Hi,
    You can try something like this.
    In your program write
    IF &VBDKA-SLAND& CS 'DI'.
    flag = 1.
    ENDIF.
    Now in script
    /: IF flag = 1.
    AS INDIAN
    /: Endif.
    Thanks,
    Sri.

  • How to write a perform in Sap Script

    Hi Guys,
    Can anyone let me know how to write a perform statement in Sap Script.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    I just took this example from SAP Help
    =======================================
    Syntax in a form window:
    /: PERFORM <form> IN PROGRAM <prog>
    /: USING &INVAR1&
    /: USING &INVAR2&
    /: CHANGING &OUTVAR1&
    /: CHANGING &OUTVAR2&
    /: ENDPERFORM
    INVAR1 and INVAR2 are variable symbols and may be of any of the four SAPscript symbol types.
    OUTVAR1 and OUTVAR2 are local text symbols and must therefore be character strings.
    The ABAP subroutine called via the command line stated above must be defined in the ABAP report prog as follows:
    FORM <form> TABLES IN_TAB STRUCTURE ITCSY
    OUT_TAB STRUCTURE ITCSY.
    ENDFORM.

  • How to print a Barcode VERTICALLY in a SAP Script ?

    Dear Experts..
    I have to print a Barcode <b>vertically</b> in a SAP Script.
    Could you please help me regarding this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey SR,
    follow these steps :
    Bar code  in Smartform :
    General definition of Bar code:
    Bar codes are standardized characters of a symbol made up of a group of lines and spaces that can be recognized by an optical scanner. Bar codes uniquely identify article data, production numbers or transport units, for example. They can also contain additional information such as batch number, expiration date or weight.
    Example
    In the Logistics Execution System (LES), certain field entries can be represented by bar codes and printed on the transfer documents. This simplifies certain data entry processes such as order confirmation.
    Type of bar code:
    Bar codes are based on a binary principle and consist of a series of stripes/gaps of different widths. The sequence of the stripes or gaps results in an (alpha) numeric statement. Bar codes are read optically. Due to varying requirements, bar codes may differ with regard to the following aspects:
    •     printer tolerance
    •     decoding tolerance
    •     character width
    •     automatic check
    •     number of characters
    Steps to implement bar code in the smartform:
    •     Use the transaction code smartstyle. Give a suitable name .Choose create.
    •     In change mode of the Smart Style select the Character formats node and choose Create.
    •     In the Character format field enter a two-character character key.
    •     Select the desired attributes of the Bar Code on the tab Standard Settings.
    •     Choose Activate.
    •     Assign the character format to the field or character string in the smartform.
    •     Activate the smartform.
    •     Test the same.

    Kunal.
