Guess that is kind of my fault, I basically hijacked this post, but with the same problem.
The OP called it a text zone. That wasn't me.
The code works great in some objects, but not others.
I can make it work in a text area. But not in an HTML region or the footer/header of any type of region.
For example as per my last post, in your example page, you have a region with the title of CODE with the actual code you used to make the text area font change size etc. In that region titled CODE make the text larger (or smaller).

How to calculate the size of a Text Field?

Is there a way to calculate the number of characters allow in a Text Field? If a uer type over this number of characters a popup window will appear telling the user that he/she has too much texts. Of course I could use the Limit Length, but I have to manually put texts into this text field and count them. If the Limit Lenth number is too small, the texts does not fill the whole text field. If the number is too big then the texts does not get printed.

There would be no easy way to do this. You'd need to do some pretty fancy calculations, it would all depend on the size of the field, what font is used, the font size, whether it's been bolded, underlined, italicized, etc etc.
What are you trying to accomplish? Make it so that the user can type in the text field until it fills and then have it stop without scroll bars coming up to allow him to keep typing?

In DeskI, what's the maximum for "Limit size of long text objects"? 2000?

In Universe Designer, we have a setting which is "Limit size of long text objects", it can control how many characters can be displayed for long text objects.
The problem is that in DeskI, we can only display 2000 characters even we set 2500 or more in Universe Designer by "Limit size of long text objects". But if we use the same Universe & same Database, WebI can show 2500 or more characters for long text objects.
So does it mean in DeskI the maximum value for "Limit size of long text objects" is 2000?

Check that the object in the universe is set to data type "long text".
Also check that the object itself is not limiting the length of the string, as well as that the entire string is actually in the database... the data type here could also be the issue.

Hello Apple.
It seems you have gone to great lengths to improve accessibility in many areas of the iPad. Why was this obvious problem with icon text size missed? (It's not with the Mac.). And for so long too.
Do you employ people with actual accessibility problems to help you do UI design?
I think too, that some buttons are too close for people who might have motor control problems.
I love my iPad but I fear as I age, the iPad might not keep up with me.

Is there any way to change the font size of the text in the Finder Sidebar?

This may sound like a bit of a dorky question but here goes nothing...
I am rather near-sighted and in need of new glasses but I am stuck in a holding pattern until I can get a referral to see my eye doctor. Anyway... I have found myself using the Zoom features far more often and increasing the font size in the Finder for the Item Names & Info.
The problem that I am facing now, is that the font size of the text in the sidebar is FAR SMALLER than the font size of the text of the actual file names & info.
+*IS THERE ANY WAY TO INCREASE THE FONT SIZE OF THE TEXT IN THE SIDEBAR??*+
So far I have looked in:
*The Finder Preferences
*The Desktop Preference Pane
*The Appearance Preference Pane
*The Seeing Tab of the Universal Access Preference Pane
And to add to my frustration I have also searched the Mac OS X Help AND all of the posts in this thread (back to 1/1/09) that had the word "sidebar" mentioned in them!!

Usually, Apple is really very good about foreseeing any possible trouble (ESPECIALLY when it comes to the area of Accessibility for people w/ disabilities!!)
I do hope that SOMEBODY can help me on this one!!
Also, I noticed that the size of the text that is on the Toolbar is also the same ITSY BITSY font size as the text on the sidebar, but I am guessing that there is next to nothing that can be done about that!!

Incorrect characters in material PO text after upgrade

Hi there,
We have just upgraded from 4.6c to ECC 6.0 and have a problem with invalid characters on material PO text.
On the material master there is a long text description with the character "-". in ECC 6.0, these have been replaced with the character "?" or "#". Also, there are entries such as "" and "

" included at the end of lines.
If you manually change the text via MM02, there is no problem, it saves the correct character.
Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this?

Check the config in Materials Management --> Purchasing --> Purch Req --> Texts for Purch Reqs --> Define copying rules.
For your text, see the linkage with Material PO text. The fix indicator will be N. This means you cannot change it in PR. Change the config setting to blank and you will be able to change it in PR.

I was testing the preciseness & efficiency of Adobe acrobat x professional's doc conversion capabilities. As i have to take a document editing project in future which is going to need lot of pdf to word and vice versa conversions . What I did was I created a test word document converted into a pdf using a pdf maker in my word 2007 , Acrobat did convert the document from word to pdf keeping everything in the source file intact , However when i tried the other way round and attempted to convert the same pdf to word 2007 file format I lost my formatting ?So the font that I used to create the pdf are the ones taken from word 2007 which i believe is using the fonts that are installed in my computer. Any suggestions on how to preserve the formatting of the document after converting it from pdf to word file format?

More than 255 characters in a table text field

Dear experts,
i am facing a problem (in WD Alv too) that i can not display more than 255 characters in a single text field.
I want to display a table containing a description field without a limitation of its length. As soon as providing a (formatted) string longer than 255 characters of length, no interactive form is shown on screen.
Debugging a while, the following error message occurs;
ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.ProcessingException: XMLFM Exception - PDF render operation exception, reason code: 0 : InvalidXDPException: Xml parsing error: reference to invalid character number (error code 14) ...
Does anybody have similar problems to mine?
Did anyone resolve the issue to show more than 255 characters in a table in interactive form?

zz_description is type string.
My table is on a page, wrapped in a subform. and zz_description is type text field.
Yes, i maintained "allow multiple lines" and did not limit length somehow.
The problem arises in portal, pressing the preview button of a zform. providing a string <255 characters of length, everything works fine.

Is there a way to make a global change to the size of a text frame in InDesign 5.5? I just laid out a book and the size needs to go up half an inch.

If you have worked properly and have done following:
Set up Masters with margins and columns,
Aligned all text frames with the margins,
Turned on Layout Adjustment,
You will only change the margins on the Master and it will change every page.
If not …
you have to do it manually.

Not possible. WDLabelDesign contains only 2 values: STANDARD and LIGHT. As workaround you can use TextView. It supports a lot of "designs" (e.g. label_small).
