Characteristic - length of six - but user only wants to see first 2

Hello,
I have a request from a user who has a report that displays a characteristic. The infoobject is defined as lenght of 6.
However, they would like to have only the first 2 characters displayed.
One workaround would be to define a secondary infoobject on backend and move as well to that field but I would like to know if there is any way in BEX that the report can "trim" the charactersitic on the fly.
On backend, we can use formula in transformation to trim the field too but I am not aware of any functionality on the front end that will allow this at the time of the report.
Is there anything in bex that would allow you to display AB instead of all ABCDEF.

Hi yes,
Short, medium and long text are loaded.
This user is also a business objects report developer. He wants to know if we can do the trimming in front end during query - leaving the 6 character field alone.
Your idea of text loading would be good.
He thinks that since BO can do it - bex should be able to do it without having to make any backend changes.
I currently do not see how to do this like he can do in Business Objects.

So if I understand you correctly, you want to be able to sync only certain songs, artists, and albums correct? If so you can configure this set up from under the iPod's Music configuration tab in iTunes as described in the Syncing Automatically section in the Apple support document you linked in at the top of the page. Note that you cannot select only certain songs, but you can set it up to sync selected Artists, Genres, and Albums.
If the tab and its configurations are grayed out, it is likely because your iPod is set up for manual management, meaning the manually manage music and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab.

Just downloaded DW CC. Bought expensive book that tells me to use "Expanded Workspace" but the only options I see in window or workspace button are "Design" Extract" and one other. No where can I find "Expand" or "Compact" which the books says are the two

I won't be spending any more money on expensive books now that I know you can't actually get one that applies to the latest version.
Don't get me wrong. I like books. Classroom in a Book series is an excellent resource to have. You will learn a lot from it. Just don't get side-stepped by Creative Cloud's update schedule. No publishing house can keep pace with it. If you stay informed about new releases from Adobe's "What's New" Blogs, you will get your money's worth out of your books. Online Help (F1) is another good resource to use since it is updated fairly often.

Thanks for the help guys. Disabling Touch ID allows me to see other options...Although I don't understand why Apple would feel the need to put that restriction in place. Doesn't seem to be any sense behind it..

Mobile User, only want to sync documents folder, nothing else

As the title suggests! I have a MB air and only want to sync my docs folder. In the WGM for mobile user I was there was just a simple set of buttons to allow common things! can anyone shed some light on what I need to add/subtract to get a perfect sync with only my docs

I'm relatively new to portable home directories, but if you let the user manage the preferences (i.e., leave WGM alone) when you login you should be able to select "Mobile Account Preferences" from the Home Sync icon on the toolbar (or System Preferences -> Accounts -> Mobile Account Settings) and then just change the options there to only sync Documents.

But I only want to print part of my email?

Just bought the HP Photosmart 7520 and downloaded the Printer Control & HPePrint apps onto my iPad.
Everything is connected and working, but the Print Settings options in those two HP apps seems pretty limited.
For instance, if I only want to print say one page (or a selected section) of one of my emails, can I do it? Because it seems my only option at the moment from those apps, is to print the whole thing.
ALSO; I notice there are paper size, paper type and greyscale/colour options in those HP apps that I can change, but no print quality & dpi options etc. Or when it comes to printing word documents & photos etc, can the print quality settings etc - only be changed/altered via the application software itself - and not via those HP apps or even the HP printer touchscreen?
Grateful for any info & advice.

No problem!
There are many printing options in the modern day for PCs and Printers that weren't available in the early years of printing. I do not work on the driver/app development teams, but I would guess that there will be more options available for mobile printing in the future as technology changes.

I only want to use the gift card, how to I get pass the credit card billing page. Also as soon attempt to put in my new credit card number it immediately times out can this be associated to where I'm located?

Go to your account on your computer and set the credit card to none. This will allow you to use the gift card.
