Characteristics and KF's in lead column. - Urgent

Hello Gurus,
i have a specific problem.
in my layout i have chosen KF's in data cols.
i have 5 chars in Lead cols(including version) and 1 KF( for planned data) in Data Column.
The layout looks like this:
'CustGp',   'Biz_Unit', 'sales_Area', 'Prdct_Div', 'Version', 'Target 2007'
S1, B1,      SA1,        Div1,        A10,      5000.
S1,             B1,         SA1, Div1, B10,   6000.
S1, B1, SA1, Div1,    Z10,   _____
This screen is meant for the consolidator who would resolve the overlapping(and store it wth version Z10) of planned data between Manager A[wth Version A10] and Manager B[ with B10].
Now, the issue is that the managers(A &B) plan the target w.r.t Billing Data of last year.
Hence, Billing info should be visible to the Consolidator as well.
So the required layout is:
'CustGp',   'Biz_Unit', 'sales_Area', 'Prdct_Div', 'Billing2006', 'Version', 'Target_2007'.
S1, B1,    SA1,    Div1,   4500, A10,    5000.
S1,      B1,    SA1,       Div1,   4500, B10, 6000.
S1, B1, SA1,   Div1, 4500, Z10,      ____ .
That is : i want to include 1 KF in lead columns in b/w other chars.
How do i achieve this ??
although the case needs to be simple lead columns ( as it wud at run time pick the data from transaction Cube)

Hi,
The easiest is to not show the version number characteristic.
Create the layout as follows:
'CustGp', 'Biz_Unit', 'sales_Area', 'Prdct_Div', 'Billing2006', 'Target_2007 A10', 'Target_2007 B10', 'Target_2007 A10'.
S1, B1, SA1, Div1, 4500, 5000, 6000, ____ .
From a user point of view, this layout is more intuitive.
After all, why should the billing be shown 3 times.
You could even show the difference between target A10 and target B10 to make it easier for the user to fill column Z10.
You can achieve this by putting the version in the 'data columns' on the first screen of your layout and then create several lines in the 'data columns' tab and enter the correct version (A10, B10, Z10) in the different lines.
You will also need a line for billing and will be obliged to assign a version. Billing generally has no version so enter '#' not assigned.

Report Painter - Display two characteristics on one line in lead column

I have a requirement to produce a Report Painter report to display values by Cost Centre and Cost Element.
The requesting user wants to see the Cost Centre AND Cost Element keys displayed on each row of the report, to allow for manipulation in Excel.
I have no problem grouping Cost Element within Cost Centre or vice-versa, but am not aware of any way of displaying both key values on each row in the lead column (or anywhere else).
Has anybody done this?

the request is not unusual. However, report painter does not allow for two key columns or a key column combining two characteristics. You might consider using SAP Query (with table COEP or COSS/COSP for aggregates) if you do not want to resort to developing the report in ABAP.

BPS ERROR I CREATE A NEW Manual Planning when a use variable in lead column

Dear
when a create a new manual planning have a message.
Frist
I create two variable one is Controlling Area other is Cost Element
in planning area.
next
I a create a manual planning to make a report form.i create a
manual planning layout category is key Figures and make Controlling
Area and Cost Element as lead column in next continue setup lead
columns tab.i set key figure and set Controlling Area and Cost Element
to use variable above.and finish other tab.
next
i double click manual planning system give me a message
The environment has changed; the layout can no longer be executed
notes: i can insure Controlling Area and Cost Element is a single value
and make sure both can mapping in cube
by the way when i use fixed value this form will be run.

I summarize the last post: In RoboHelp 7 for Word, the problem is that when I try to create a winhelp2000 project importing from a .hlp file of origin created previuosly, the import process makes error because it want to extract images that not exist on the .hlp file of origin. IP: Dynamic Data and Lead Columns

Hello,
In IP, there is not such thing as "Dynamic Data and Lead Columns" which we have used successfully in BPS. We have quite normal case where accounts are on rows and columns are defined as follows:
Column 1): KF Qty1, Period #, Year "Var Current year (single value)"
Columns 2-n): KF Amt1, Period "Var periods current year (multiple values)", Year "Var Current year"
Column n+1): Sum columns 2-n
Number of periods in variable "Var periods current year" is not fixed and maintained by superuser, so number of columns is somewhere between 3 and 14 (at least one open period, maximum 12, plus the Qty1 and Sum columns).
How would you fix this in IP?

Hello Aki,
you could put the period into the columns as char.
if you make a selection to value # and the variable you will se as many columns as periods are selected in the variable plus the one column for #.

Hi HIren,
There can be only one lead column in report painter.
However within the one lead column you can identify more than one characteristic - e.g. cost center and cost element. You can then identify that both characteristics should be exploded.
If you go Edit > Rows > Explode, you have the opportunity of identifying which characteristic takes presidence over the other, and how they expand. So in this example, Cost center will be 1 and cost element will be 2.
The output will be dependant upon your report layout, but you should have the layout so that you have:
Cost Center A:
- Cost Element A
- Cost Element B:
- Cost Element C:
Cost Center B:
- Cost Element A:
- Cost Element B:
- Cost Element C:
And to distinguish the cost centers from the cost elements, you can format the cost center row "Color for Totals"

Dynamic Lead Columns / Data Columns

Hi
I want to use dyanmic data columns restricted by a characteristic relationship of another variable.
When I use the characteristic as a lead column, it works perfect, I only see the rows for valid lines.
When I use the characteristic as a data column, I see all possible characteristic values of that characteristics. The ones that are not valid are not ready for input, the ones that are valid are ready for input.
I would like to use dynamic data columns but only display the columns with a valid characteristic relationships (just the way it works when I put the characteristic in the lead column)
Should that work?

Enable Zero-Suppression on your column structure. Then in your Query properties, enable zero-suppresion for columns. That way only characteristic values with data will be shown and not all possible characteristic values present in the master data tables. I should note that there should be some data in the fact table which links the keyfigure to the characteristic value, otherwise it will be suppressed.

Lead Columns in Report Painter

Hi All
Is it possible to have two lead columns in a report? My requirement is that i want to prepare a profit and loss account by using report painter. It should look like
Expense           Amount           Revenue          Amount
Exp G/L A/c       XXX             Sale G/L A/c      XXX          (For Example)
Now i want to define Expense column as lead column and revenue column as a lead column

Kindly elaborate it I am new to report painter i would like to tell you again what is my specific design requirement
LEAD Column                Column 1                              LEAD Column                    Column 2
Expense                      Amount                                     Revenue                      Amount
(These four will be my columns under this following will be )
Salary Exp G/L       1000                                 Sale G/L A/c       2000 (For Example)
(This salary will be my heading and i will be typing in words and under this i will be assigning my salary Gl A/c same will be the case with Sale)
Now i want to define Expense column as lead column and revenue column as a lead column so that i can write Salary as heading and sales as heading just like traditional Profit and loss account what earlier we use to prepare by hand.
Kindly elaborate it how to do it

Error in executing a layout which has a hierarchy in lead column

Hi Experts,
I have used a planning level where a characteristic called 'reporting code' is restricted with a hierarchy.
Now when I am trying to execute a layout under this level I am getting some error. The characteristic is used in the lead column in this layout.Two differene type of error I am getting in following two different cases.
1. When I am using the hierarchical settings for the lead column then I am getting the error 'Hierarchy INPUT is not suited to the planning mode.
2. When I am not using the hierarchical settings for the lead column then I am getting the error 'Too many characteristic combinations for manual planning'.
If I reduce the no of nodes in the hierarchy for testing then none of this error is coming. So I think this is related to the volume of the hierarchy.
Can anybody put some light on this why this error is coming and how to resolve this error?

In case of text hierarchies, wherein we can plan only on leaves, for the layout to be displayed in a hierarichal manner, we need the following settings.
In the first screen of the layout builder, next to the layout description, click on the hierarchy icon, choose non-hierarchical data model and in the additional settings, all possible char combinations.
In the last screen of the layout builder, in lead column settings, check display totals as hierarchy.
With the above settings, layout shows the result in hierarchy mode.
In BPS layout, the no of rows will be limited. As you have given all possible combinations, system tries to display the entire hierarchy, i think which is exceeding the max limit. Try reducing the hierarchy size or keep the additional settings as "Transaction data" and check if the problem persists.

How do I change the width of a lead column in an enhanced layout ?

I have an enhanced layout in BPS that gets rendered in TPM (CRM2007) application.
I need to increase the width of a lead column in this layout. I saw a bunch of methods in a BADI UPX_LAYOUT_RENDER. There is one to manipulate XML and another to manipulate HTML. Are these my only options? or is there an easier way via config or another BADI?

Dynamic Lead Columns

We have a requirement where users need to enter 3 Key figure values for 3 periods against 0MATERIAL. The layout should show as follows:

Planning level contains, 0MATERIAL, 0FISCPER3 and the three Key figures. In the manual planning layout, I have selected "Key Figures in Lead Column" with 0MATERIAL in the lead column and 0FISCPER3 in the data column. In the additional settings, I have chosen "From Transaction Data" and "Lead Columns Dynamic for" 0MATERIAL - Text Replacement "Key". In the next step, I have entered the three key figures and checked the "Dynamic" checkbox. In the data columns I have selected the required 0FISCPER3. Executing this layout is resulting in a dump with the "MESSAGE_TYPE_X" C "SAPLUPP_PLAN" or "LUPP_PLANU05" "UPP_PLAN_COMPLETE_LAYOUT" and "layout_Corrupt". What am I doing wrong here?

Partially resolved. It looks like I need to restrict 0MATERIAL in the planning level if I use "Dynamic" option!! I have used the ROOT node of the hierarchy on 0MATERIAL in the planning level and I am able to open the template. BUT THE MAIN PROBLEM IS STILL UNRESOLVED. I want the layout to show

I need to have the rows ordered by SKU and not by Key figures. Hope my explanation is clear. I will assign points to the helpful posts.
PS - I can move Months into "Lead Columns" and "Key Figures" into Data Columns so that the Key Figures are there all by themselves, but that is not an option either.

BPS: How to filter Lead Columns at run time

I need to know if there is a way to filter values for lead columns, after planning level and planning package where defined
Example:
Family | Material | Brand | Format | sales | cost | Margin
F1      M1         B1      F1       100     80     20
F1      M2         B1      F1        95     85     10
F1      M2         B1      F2       105     90     15
In this case the user wants to add 10% to sales and review how does it impact into margin, but he wants to apply it only to rows where Material is M1.
So, he needs to use some kind of filter data (like Excel functionality) to select only the rows corresponding to material M1.
After that, he wants to perform other filters over the other lead columns, and apply again some changes in the data columns.
Somebody can help me with this requirement?

Hi Pamela,
First of all you would need a variable for Material with Replacement type user defined values to be able to restrict the data for Material M1 when the layout is executed.
For incrementing the sales by 10% you can create a Planning function which increases the sales amount by 10% and provide a button for the same in the User Planning Folder. You could also restrict the Planning function for Material M1 if you so desire.
The benefit of the Planning function is that you can always "Undo" the operation if you have not saved/performed a subsequent operation. So as long as the user is applying some changes and undoing the same before the second change step the data is as it is, and for what changes the user would like to simulate you can create a Planning function and provide the option in the Planning folder.

Exclude values of chars in lead columns

Hi guys.
I have a task - to exclude some values of characteristic (e.g. 0MATERIAL) from planning layout. I need to exclude them by some attribute of this char (e.g. material group).
How can I do this?

Create a variable on char 0Material and replace the values with exit.
Use this variable in the plng level and in the lead column.

Hello,
You have to activate key figure in the library you are using. Use transaction GR22. To activate key figure, juct mark the checkbox.

Increase the Lead Column of Report Painter

Hi Friends.
I want to increase the Length of the LEAD COLUMN in order to type the particulars of Profit & Loss Accnt and Balance Sheet.
There is an option under GRR2>Formatting>Report Layout>Lead Column. I am increasing the length after it is not taking effect.

Dynamic Lead column repeats the same value

Hi, I have a dynamic lead column with reporting groups attached to them. Also, I have date column in the data column which is also dynamic. In the layout the reporting group field shows only the first entry in the variable and repeats itself. When I enter the data and save it, data is saved in the right reporting groups...If I replace day with week(and no further changes in the layout) reporting groups show up...is it something to do with date field?

In the database it shows the second line reporting group as 2(which I want) but in the layout it shows up as 1.

Hi,
When any of the dynamic lead columns or data columns you select them as dynamic, automatically the Infoobject is filled by the system and it would be greyed out. Copy the same infoobject like 0FISCPER, 0FISCYEAR and paste in the Description of the layout (for that dynamic column). Then it will pick up on its own.
Otherwise if you put your own description like date, month and year etc. for all the columns or rows, as the case may be, it will give similar description.
