Characteristics missing in EasyDMS?

Hi all,
First time poster. I have a troubleshooting question regarding EasyDMS. I'm currently setting up some test document types for training purposes and I'm having trouble understanding why EasyDMS isn't showing the characteristics that I have setup!
Is this possibly a bug? Please see the image I have linked here for comparison between SAP GUI and EasyDMS. I'm unsure as to why the characteristics are missing and shown as inactive within EasyDMS.
Your help is much obliged.

Hi Iring,
The classes are currently already being maintained. This isn't the issue. The view in the screenshot was just to show that there are characteristics attached to the DIR itself. Nothing more. My problem is that even with all the config in SPRO being maintained, I still can't seem to see characteristics within EasyDMS!?!
I have classes and class types currently being maintained for the particular document type. So this isn't the issue.
If SAP GUI shows characteristics why doesn't EasyDMS?
It's worked before... but this is the first case I have come across whilst applying config in an environment. I'm wondering is it a particular client problem?
P.S. I'm using non-unicode client. I understand the limitations, but am unsure if this is part of the problem as well!
Any assistance would be welcome!

ACL authorization activities missing in EasyDMS

Hi,
As per the help, when defining document specific authorizations the following authorization activities should be available.
Admin
DeleteFol
Delete
WriteFile
Write
DelChild
CreateDoc
ReadFile
Read
NoAuth
However, when I click the drop-down all I see are the following. There is a blank line where authorizations such as DeleteFol, WriteFile etc should be. Has anybody else experienced this issue? I have tested using EasyDMS 6.0 SP14 and 7.0 SP4.

Hi Surjit,
Thanks a lot for your answers. The function module is implemented. However, when I checked ACO_ACTIVITYT the authorization acitivities that I am missing were not maintained. Do I need to manually enter these values into this table? and why are some values available and others not? There were also some cProjects related activities in there (resource management, candidate management etc).
Appreciate any further help you could give me.

Crystal Report-BW Query free characteristics missing

Hello,
I am working on a crystal report against BW query, I am using SAP menu to build the report. I see that free characteristics not coming into the crystal report.
Question1: Is this an issue or is it designed to work this way?
Question2: As an alternative for this In BW query I have changed all the free characteristics into rows, now I am able to see all the fields but the data is becoming flat, when I try to role up the data for cretain fields it does not work correctly. Example: Role up of Rates (%). With database delegation option in webi role up work fine there but what about in crystal?

Hi,
you are most likely using the old driver. make sure in the Settings in the SAP Toolbar you activate the option to use the MDX Driver.

Inprocess inspection characteristics missing

Dear all
i assigned 03 inspection to a material but forgot to assign inspection characteristics, lot has been created at the time of the creation of production order. now i want to do the inspection but there is no assigned characteristics. i have assigned characteristics to that material in routing but how to get the effect on that lot to get the characteristics without changing order
is there any option plz guide me

Dear Nasir,
You have to try to read the Production Order master data through Production Order --> Functions --> Read Master Data. This is the way you can reset your lot Because In process inspection lot is attached with Production / Process Order. Other wise cancel the production order and create the new one. I hope this will work.

Missing characteristics in report

Hi,
We recently upgraded our system from 3.5 to 7.0 and found out that one characteristic 0vtype is missing in the report after the upgrade but the data content is the same.
How do I get this missing characteristic to display as it is before the upgrade.

from query designer I can see the IO characteristics. It is Restricted key Figures.
I don't know why is not showing after the upgrade in a particular report.
In other reports that we have same IO it is showing after the upgrade.

Billing Request Editor - "Customizing missing for Characteristics"

Our Production system is getting the following error when users are trying to access the Billing Request Editor;
This same error doesn't exist in our lower landscapes and I've validated that the Characteristics for Billing Request Editor are in sync with one another. Is there more configuration that I am missing? Any assistance is appreciated.

We ended up removing the table entries and recreating them from another lower landscape environment. That seemed to work for now.

Missing characteristics value in table AUSP

Hi all,
In the classification of equipment master, the characteristics value of a new class could be shown but the value cannot be found in the table AUSP.
(it's been ensured that the object no. input is correct)
Where is the value stored? or is there something wrong?

EasyDMS - search by date range for characteristics of type date

Hi Folks,
I have a characteristic of type date in the additional data of a DMS document. If I enter the date (for example validity date) as 08/31/2009 and search using cv04n and give a date range for the characteristic (i.e. 01/01/2009 - 12/31/2009), the search result will bring up the document.
However, I cannot do this from the EasyDMS find function. I need to specify an exact date. This is not very helpful for user who need to find documents with a validity date between 01/01/2009 - 12/31/2009 for example. Is there a way users can search for date range in EasyDMS find function?

To search a date range with EasyDMS Client you have to set the registry key
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\EasyDms\Generel\DateSearchPick to Value 0
Then you can use the input field like in SAP-Gui. (01.01.2009-31.01.2009)
If you set the value to 1 or the key is not defined you can only search for one specified date.
If you don't find this key on your PC create it as dword.
Maybe you must restart you PC for takeing effect.

Inprocess Inspection - Missing characteristics

Hi All,
We are using in process inspection ( Inspection type 03 ) .However While result recording for the inspection lot created I can not see any characteristics in result recording screen. (System message - No characteristics were found ).
1) Inspection type 03 is active (Check characteristics check box is also active)
2) No inspection points are assigned to the routing.
3) MIC are correctly assigned to the routing operation
4) Validated that same routings are assigned to the inspection lot.
Still I can not see any characteristics in result recording scree for in process inspection lot created. Need your help on this issue.

Hi Amol,
It's a bit surprising if all checks suggested by Craig and Nitin is successful but still you can't get MIC's in inspection lots!! Please can you please double check -
a) There is absolutely no issues with MIC's linked to routing operations, MIC's are all in released state (?) and the MIC version is correctly assigned to the routing, there is no issues with the control keys assigned to operations form PP perspective, which support inspection.
b) If everything is fine, then in your main order, you will get the in process inspection lot number. Please can you try removing it and then do re-read PP Master data, to create a new inspection lot. Then check in QA33.
c) Also check the inspection point used for your operation.

Debugger missing Virtual Characteristics code

I have written a BADI based on definition RSR_OLAP_BADI. I have also written the code, but when I debug the query in RSRT, the code is getting skipped.
Here is what I have done
1) created a characteristics with initial value
2) created the BADI using definition RSR_OLAP_BADI
3) used the characteristics in the report

I have already debugged alot. At one condition it checks
l_s_rkbif-userexitmode EQ rrke_c_mode-no_selection.
If this userexitmode is blank, its not going further to the code.
I have no clue where to make it userexit enabled.

Missing characteristics value after exporting to excel

Hi
I created a web template with WAD 7.0 that is using a button with Export to Excel functionality.
The issue i have is that if I export to Excel, I don't see the characteristics/filter values e.g
Cal. year / quar
Company Code
Fiscal year/period
Vendor
Vendor Account Group
Structure
It displays only the data.
How do I get these characteristic values do display in excel.

thanks for your response. I have checked and couldn't find options for select Analysis grid or Filter grid.
In the button, I used command * Export web application* and in the parameters I could find anything close to choosing the options you mentioned.

Error " Data missing for the entry check while creating a new waste code

Hi all, While setting a new Waste code I get the error " Data missing for the entry check, correction:". while filling the NAM- WASTECOCAT - LER item.
This sould look for the catalog's name included in the phrase set but for some reason it doesn't find it giving me this error.
I am changing original Characteristics, phrase set, classes, and value assignment type. Just to have my own estructure with Znames for all of them.
I have also change the enviroment parameter "WAM_PHRSET_WACATLG" with the name of my phrase set.
I have checked everything several times watching for typos or looking for a missing step.
I have even tried including my new Z's characteristics in the classe and living the original SAP_EHS_1024_001_WASTE_CATALOG. (changing the enviroment parameter WAM_PHRSET_WACATLG to SAP_EHS_1024_001_WASTE_CATALOG) and it works.
I will like to change this characteristic by Z_EHS_WA_WASTE_CATALOG
Phrase set to Z_EHS_WA_WASTE_CATALOG.
enviroment parameter WAM_PHRSET_WACATLG= Z_EHS_WA_WASTE_CATALOG
After matching up the master data It should work fine but I might be missing something to get it running ok.

Hello Juan Carlos, the value and class that I want to duplicate and doesn't work is for Waste Code, I have also duplicated the one you have displayed (waste pproperties) without any problem.
1.I have duplicated and changed class SAP_EHS_1024_001. to Z_EHS_WA
2. Create a copy of the 5 characteristics included in this class.

SAP_EHS_1024_001_WASTE_CODE
SAP_EHS_1024_001_WA_SUBCATEG

change the name by

I checked the funcion C14K_WASTECATLG_CHECK is in the value of the Z_EHS_WA_WASTE_CODE characteristic

3. Create phrase sets for each new category. with same name.

The phrase for the catalog is EWC in english and LER in spanish.

Couldn't assign target field for characteristics in PI sheet config

Dear All,
I'm trying to configure PI sheet, i have created Process message categories as well as characteristics. Everything is working fine except the inputted value (for example weight, density) in PI sheet not getting transferred into process order. When i try to assign the destination message to the message characteristics, i couldn't find any value for the message categories which i created. System shows the below error:
No entries found that match selection criteria
Message no. SV004
Even if i try to assign manually,system shows with error
Corresponding entry in "Destinations/Message categories" missing
Message no. SV534
Steps i did :
1. Created new Control Recipe destination(ZCR) ( by copying sap provided CRD "05")
2. Created new characteristics group(ZMCG) for process message ( by copying sap provided group "PPPI_01") and released
3. Created Characteristics (ex. weight, density) with chars. group as ZMCG
4. Didn't create any new message destination (Trying to use defaut "PI01")
5. Create New Process Message Category(ZTEST) and assign the characteristics (weight, density along with PPPI_PROCESS_ORDER)
The problem is i couldn't assign target field as "process order" to update the inputted values for the characteristics (weight, density) in O13C
I gone through all the node in "Process Management" but unfortunately i don't know where we have to assign this destination. I hope if i assign the destination message as "PI01" with characteristics "PPPI_PROCESS_ORDER" along with target field as "PROCESS_ORDER" for the characteristics it may update into process order. How to assign the destination message for the message category?

Thanks. When i try to assign the destination message for the characteristics through O13C, i got the error message that "No entries found that match selection criteria". It means there is no characteristics with the combination of Process message category "ZTEST" with Destination as "PI01". If i trying to assign manually through "New entries" option, systems shows with the error "Corresponding entry in "Destinations/Message categories" missing.

Fields missing in Interactive forms in SFP

Hi All,
I am using interactive forms (transaction SFP) for Prsonnel change request in MSS.When i go to this form ISR_FORM_SPEG thru SFP, i realised that come standard fileds like PERNR,ENAME etc are missing ( Generic ISR Table Type) are missing from the context folder of ISR_FORM_SPEG.Any idea how i can bring them back into place??

Hi Aditi,
Go to transaction QISRSCENARIO. check if these fields are there in the characteristics of the corresponding scenario (here SPEG). If they are there, click on the change button next to the form name in the Basic data of the scenario. A pop up message asking you to change the context fields as per the characteristics fields. This gets you to the ALCDesigner. Once the proper bindings are done for the form, exit and lets you go back to the qisrscenario transaction. save the data and also activate the form. <provided you are viewing the standard scenario in the change mode>.

copy this scenario and make the adjustments you need.
if there are some fields in the form that are not part of the characteristics, click on the import form fields button next to the form name. and save it.

Fields missing in Characteristic Relationship

Hi Experts,
I want to derive Currency Key from Company code using Characteristic Relationship. I am using 'With Derivation' and master data attributes. But in the source fields I see only two fields Cost Center and Controlling Area. Not sure why I am missing rest of the fields from the Cube. Does this mean, I have to have Aggregation levels maintained before I look at Characteristic Relationships??

Hi,
derivation is used to fill characteristic values from other characteristics in the InfoCube. So to derive 'Currency Key' from 'Company Code' means that both characteristics have to be inculded in your InfoCube. I think, Currency Key is an attribute of Company code, so you can create a derivation relation based on characteristic Company Code.
If you don't need 'Currency Key' in the InfoCube, you also may use Currency Key as a navigation attribute. Then you need not characteristic relationship for this, the system automatically know about the link between Company Code and Currency Key.
