Characters in blue

Hi,
(in a blog) I want to write in blue a word linked to an external link (a web page). But when I modify the colour with the Inspector the text returns black and becomes underlined ! Do you know how to maintain the text in the desired colour (here blue) ?
Thanks
Regards
Vincent (France)

  • Passing values w/special characters in URL into an interactive report

    Hello,
I have a problem and Ive been all over these forums and reading/trying everything I can to get something to work. I have a page that has a field called Name Search. The field is a TextField with autocomplete type. If I select a company name that contains special characters, like 'Blue Shield of California Life *&* Health Insurance Company', when I click go button (using a branch), it is supposed to pass this value into the URL to populate IR_COMPANY_NAME on the interactive report page to create the report filter. However, when it goes to the IR page, it actually filters on 'Blue Shield of California Life *& amp;* Health Insurance Company' with 'amp;' instead of & and doesnt find any matches. In the page source it is actually 'value="Blue Shield of California Life *& amp; amp ;* Health Insurance Company." Here is the URL that it produces:
    http://webtest2:7775/apex/f?p=102:IRCompanyList:995769774353901::NO:5,RIR:IR_COMPANY_NAME,P5_COMPANY_NAME:Blue%20Shield%20of%20California%20Life%20%26amp%3B%20Health%20Insurance%20Company,Blue%20Shield%20of%20California%20Life%20%26amp%3B%20Health%20Insurance%20Company
The interesting thing is that I have another page that has a clasic report that lists all compnaies by name and the company_name is a link that passes the company name into the exact same IR and it works fine. In the page source it is value="Blue Shield of California Life *&* Health Insurance Company" Here is the URL that this page produces:
    http://webtest2:7775/apex/f?p=102:5:995769774353901::NO:4,RIR:IR_COMPANY_NAME,P5_COMPANY_NAME:Blue%20Shield%20of%20California%20Life%20%26%20Health%20Insurance%20Company,Blue%20Shield%20of%20California%20Life%20%26%20Health%20Insurance%20Company
I have modified every field involved changing between encoding, no encoding, changing display types (Standard Report Column, Remove HTML and escape special characters, etc). I have also attempted to encode the value myself prior to sending it to the next page. I have tried variations of the htf.escape_sc etc. I have also tried adding \&P2_COMPANY_NAME.\. I have also tried adding pl/sql to create a collection to store the values and then pl/sql to fill the values on the report page. It gives me the success message I setup, but it never actually fills the value.
I am also having problems with another field that has a comma in it. I will wait to address that one to see if I can fix this first with hopes that it can be resolved by whatever I do to fix this issue.
Any suggestions? I appreciate any feedback!

    Thank you for your feedback!
Yes, I forgot to mention that. It does come from a table, but company_name is not unique in that table. Meaning, it wouldnt know which ID to pass. Perhaps I should seperate the name out into another table and then I could pass the id. I was just hoping to get this to work programatically since the links from classic reports actually work correctly. I am starting to think this is a bug. This issue appears to have been addressed to make the links from reports pass the & correctly, but not in the branching?
I have attempted to replace and then re-replace but I couldnt get it to work with IR_ fields as the filter fields are generated by the Interactive Report region. Do you have any insight working with those? Are there any tricks to it that I might be missing?

  • Dv7-4090ca keyboard special characters

My keyboard has special characters in blue.  How do I acivate or deactivate the use of them.  Thanks

Hold down fn and ctrl then double tap on the right shift to disable blue keys. Same way to turn it on but use single tap on the right shift.

  • Links generated by Word Adobe plug-in are too large

Surprise me...by helping me to come up with a solution to this obscure, but very annoying, issue.
Our company recently moved from Office 2003 to 2010 and from Acrobat Pro 9 to X.  We are still using Windows XP.  Our standard process involves generating PDFs with internal links via an Adobe plug-in to Word--elements such as cross references and TOCs generated in Word are turned into PDF links via Distiller (not a server install).
The problem is that the links that are created using all this upgraded software are "larger" than they used to be.  They encompass more than just the letters of the cross reference and often include punctuation that follows, such as periods and closing parens.  This means that when we continue with our process of turning linked text blue, characters turn blue that should be black.  The old setup did not do this.
Is there any way to adjust the margins/buffer/link size so that the links that are created are tighter around the linked text?  Is there another way to address this?  Adjusting each link of a large document is unsustainable, but leaving these characters blue is unacceptable.
    Your help is appreciated!

Thanks very much for your reply.
I was hoping there would be some tweak I could make to the settings of Distiller or maybe some registry tweaks to change the link rectangle buffer size prior to the creation of the PDF links from the Word document.  I understand that the links are just "rectangles on the page" once they exist in the PDF document--but even a script to decrease the size of all of the links in all directions after rendering the PDF would be helpful, since the increase in size seems to be in all directions.
I suppose I can export the links to a spreadsheet and create a formula to decrease the link measurements by a specified amount and then re-import them.
I wonder what caused the change.
Here is a screenshot of the difference if it helps at all.  It's at two different magnifications, but you can still see that the period is included in one and not in the other.  And the link box is larger in all directions.
    Thanks again.

  • Dv6 keyboard

I  use a Pavilion dv6 - 6195 ca.  The keyboard contains  several keys with some characters in blue.
The simpler ones contain only two symbols and the blue one is clearly the French equivalent of the English
symbol.   Other keys, however, contain up to 5 symbols, 3 in blue.  Nowhere in the HP site and most certainly
not in the useless manual, can I find any explanation regarding how to use the blue symbols, e.g. 3/4.
Following the support option in the HP web site, I find an option which included 'keyboard' but the next menu
deals with other topics - in other words a dead end.
There is no place on the HP website to E-mail a simple query and have it forwarded to the appropriate department.
Why do HP make it so difficult to submit an Email without following their labyrinthine menu system?
Hope someone out there can help because HP can not.

    Hi,
Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start up to access the Bios Menu and make the change shown in the document on the link below - remember to save this change when exiting the bios menu.

  • Mac Word Styles - Cancel a style update?

I used to have two font colors (One for Class Notes; One for Book Notes) in a document in Word 2008; now it updated to one color from styles...Is there a way to cancel the update to Styles and go back to the two original font colors??

Unfortunately, all of the text was under "No Spacing," so when it changed the font color, it changed it for all text. Basically, I just changed the color on the fly by clicking the font color button. So, I'm thinking that once it updated to match a color style, I'm out of luck and the document doesn't remember what characters were blue and which were black.

  • Special Characters and RDP 8.0 = Blue Screen

If you are remoted into a system with RDP 8.0 and you stumble across a some special characters the remote computer will blue screen....
It doesn't matter what program is displaying the special characters; Outlook, Visual Studio, Explorer, Notepad etc. I have tested and crashed multiple computers, if it is a RDP 8.0 connection then it is susceptible to this issue. If someone
can pass this along to the RDP Team as this is most annoying.....
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi,
Please provide us more information as TP suggested.
    Such as:
    1. Examples of the special characters which leading the issue.
    2. The OS editions of the client and server.
    3. Keyboard layout and language settings of clients and servers.

  • How do you use the blue keycap characters to get accents?

My new Flex 2-15 has blue symbols on some of the keys. For example, the key to the right of "L" looks like:
    <pre>
    +-----+
    | :   |
    | ; ~ |
    +-----+
    </pre>
where the colon and semicolon are printed in white, and the tilde is blue. Some of the other keys have other accents and foreign symbols, including acute, grave, umlaut, and guillemets. I've read the user manual and searched online. The user manual says nothing about the blue symbols. Online, all I can find is instructions for using the Alt key, e.g. Alt-0-2-2-4 for à. I've been using the Alt combinations for years, and I have a lot of them memorized, but it slows me down whenever I have to use them. It would be really nice if I could get the same result with two keystrokes instead of five. Has anyone else figured it out? Is there a more complete user manual that tells how to do it?
My OS is Windows 8.1, but this should be a hardware function, usable on any OS.

On most keyboards this can be used in combination with the AltGr key, the right Alt key.

  • The "blue bar" no longer properly displays Chinese characters.

I recently updated my Adobe Reader from 7 to 9.4, and since doing so, Firefox no longer displays Chinese characters in the title bar. Instead, I now only see question marks.
I've added Chinese to the preferred languages and also tried switching the browser's text to Unicode, but neither of these has made a difference.
It's certainly a minor issue, but if anyone knows what to do, I'd greatly appreciate the help!
    Thanks!

A possible cause is that Firefox has a problem with the (system) font that is used to display the Chinese characters on the title bar.
Were any new fonts installed recently?
You can try to use the system file checker to see if there are any problems with font files.

  • Bug with Show Whitespace and tab and space characters in SQL comments

If Preferences > Code Editor > Display > Show Whitespace Characters is checked, and I type the following in SQL Worksheet:
    --A[tab]B[space]C
It renders with two spaces between B and C. The first one is a blank space without the light dot character used to signify a space character, and the second space is filled with the dot character. The caret is then blinking before the C instead of after it:
    --A[tab]B[space][dot][|]C
Further selection actions and editing in the region produce "corrupted" results. I've tried changing fonts, but there was no change to the behavior. Multiple tabs before the B produce multiple blank spaces immediately after it, and when placed at the end of the line the caret is then shown another space to the left of the C:
    --A[tab][tab]B[space][space][|][dot]C
If I turn off Show Whitespace Characters the rendering immediately corrects, and caret placement, selection action, and editing behaviors all work as expected.
This is observed on OS X with both the Mac OS X and Oracle/Fusion Blue look and feels.

are you using an "Expert Mode" query or not?
With normal mode, the query is stored in an XML attribute.
With expert mode, it's stored in a CDATA Section, which allows it to respect all user-spacing and newlines.
XML attribute values are forced by the XML 1.0 spec to be normalized, and this is done by the parser when they are read in. That might account for your different in space treatment.

  • "Blue Screen of Death" in Boot camp on Macbook Pro i5, Windows 7 64

    Hi there,
when running bootcamp I get BSOD (0x0000007F and automatic reboot) about 5 or 10 times a day.
I am running Windows 7 64 bits, and I have tried with different Nvidia drivers (260.99 and 257) but the problem always comes back.
What can I do? Is this a common problem?

Most likely, Apple HFS read-only, which is AppleHFS.sys and AppleMNT.sys - rename those and see.
You might want to run chkdsk after all this to make sure there are no errors with the drive and file system.
Windows Explorer will not accept HFS+ filenames with special characters and will "green bar" and hang when it does, too.
The faulty HFS driver is a valid concern.
    Rename AppleHFS.sys and AppleMNT.sys
By doing the following you will disable HFS mount / read mode on windows XP, Vista, 7.
Navigate to c:/windows/system32/drivers/AppleMNT.sys, rename the AppleMNT.sys file to something like AppleMNT_keep.sys or something of your likings.
The faulty HFS driver is a valid concern. It seems to happen on many systems.
    You find it in Windows/system32/drivers/AppleHFS.sys
Renaming to AppleHFS_disabled.sys will avoid the blue screens until you have found another solution or Apple updates Bootcamp 3
After renaming both myself because they are no longer "*.sys" or something? they are gone. In my case AppleHFS prevented Windows Backup from running to end and was causing error "some files skipped" and while some might find reading convenient, I prefer Windows not have even read-only access.
You can probably do better with MacDrive, or probably Paragon's HFS driver, to read AND write if needed, to HFS from Windows.

  • Windows 7 - Blue screen of death after Boot Camp install

Hello! I have done some searches with no answers, so...
After installing Windows 7 from scratch I then install Boot Camp 3.0 which then leads to the Windows blue screen of death upon reboot. I then have to recover Windows to the previous state prior to installing Boot Camp.
    Help!?

  • HP PSC 2355 Blue screen of Death and Error message/ blinking lights.

Hello, I have a HP PSC2355 that we recently moved, after we moved it started randomly locking up with the Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD), it would give an error:0X880529ec on the BSOD, further down the screen were the characters 1:H+x?+  The (ON) light was Blinking Green, the (!) light was blinking orange.  This will happen regardless if the PC was on or not, it will happen when trying to print, sometimes only getting 1" of print at the top of the page.  Currently running Windows XP, SP3 connected via USB.  I highly doubt it is a PC issue as it will happen when trying to use it as a standalone copier.  Sounds internal to me, I do have electronics experience ( I repair televisions )  If someone has any ideas, let me know.....
I might also add, you dont have to be printing for the error to crop up, you can just plug it in and wait, later you will see the BSOD and the blinking lights.

Well, decided to try to print from another computer, d/l the smaller driver only package (26meg), did a fresh install after finally getting the printer to stay on for a few minutes, it took forever on the first part of 8 on the installer (cable already plugged in), and it has been on for many hours now, printed many things, yet to have an error.  Dont know if the driver installation did anything with the firmware on the unit or not.
    Differences:
    Celeron Laptop (virus/trojan free) now
Was on a P4 desktop that had not been so lucky with the trojan/viruses.
Upstairs on my dining room table now
Was in basement in wife's scrapbooking room.
    Dunno, time will tell.......

  • Blue screen after Error 37: a bad filename or volume was encountered

I get a PAGEFAULT_IN_NONPAGEDAREA blue screen after I encounter multiple Error 37: a bad filename or volume was encountered.
Anyone encounter this issue and how to you send info to apple for them to fix their buggy code?
Their support of code which will run bug-free on vista seems to be lacking (I understand there are two parties to this marriage).
    Help anyone?

I noticed a few days ago that (at least on my box) Quicktime seems to have "issues" with >31 characters anywhere in the file path.
Is it possible that you have some folder along the way to your movie that has more than 31 charaters?
Shorten if necessary and see if that works.

  • Foreign Characters in Windows Vista AutoPlay Dialog Box

I have an iPhone 3G, using Vista. Upgraded to iTunes 8 (really like the changes so far), and also upgraded to 2.1 (so far so good), but have found a strange behavior when I connect my iPhone to my computer. I have searched the forums and have not found anyone discussing this yet.
As per usual, the AutoPlay dialog box opens, asking me if I want to view or import pictures, but my device is now called "iPhone 㽳筨緾", or at least that's the most recent name. I have discovered that in my registry there is a key called
    [HKEYCURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAutoplayHandlersKnownD evicesWpdDeviceHandler_USB#VID_05AC&PID_1292&MI00#0]
that I suspect is causing the problem. I can edit the name of my device back to "iPhone", but every time I reconnect it, the name changes, and it has never been the same. I have shown 2 examples below:

I hope these foreign characters are coming across in this message, they show up right now as I type.
My suspicion is something in the .dll file that points to the icon, but I'm not a computer person by training.
I hope my description of the problem has been adequate. Anyone else experiencing this behavior as well?

I am also having the same issue since my updates, and i find that the extra characters change (without me doing anything) each time i connect my iphone to my computer (vista).
Also since the updates, i was getting the blue screen of death when connecting my iphone to my pc, but after re-downloading the software & re-installing, i have not had any issues in regards to my pc crashing.
Not sure if the two are related somehow or if something has become corrupt on my pc.
Is there any information on this one yet?
    Cheers,
    Shelle
