Characters typing as Spanish keyboard

This is quite baffling...
I just installed CS6, and trying to type &, instead shows /, etc. Then I figured it was typing as a Spanish keyboard setting, although all my pc settings (control panel, etc.) are English.
Any ideas? Thanks for looking.

If the keyboard is in the middle of the screen tap the tiny keyboard then slide your finger up to dock. If the screen isn't scrolling try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own.

  • Typing in Spanish

I am a student studying Spanish in college and need to write many compositions in Spanish. I know how to choose Spanish as an input method to assist with typos and whatnot, but I do not know how to type characters when the Spanish keyboard is activated. What is the keyboard layout when I switch my input to Spanish?

Why don't you leave your keyboard layout to US and learn the code to type the accent?
For example ´ is Option+E so if you need "á" you would type Option+E then the letter a. If you need a "é" you type Option+E then e...

  • How do I switch through the English and Spanish keyboards on my ipod touch while I am typing instead of stopping and going into settings?

I went into settings and added the Spanish keyboard on to my ipod touch. But here's the thing. If I have the keyboard in English, while I am typing I can't use any Spanish because it wants to correct all my words and turn them into English words, and this happens vice versa when typing in Spanish and it makes corrections in English. When I type I am constantly switching back and forth between Spanish and English. Is there any way to change the keyboard language while I am at the typing screen? For example on my Samsung Galaxy 4g, all I have to do when I want to switch languages is swipe my finger on the space bar key from left to right. That way I don't have to stop writing, go into the phone settings and find the language and switch it, slowing me down considerably because I would have to stop every few minutes.  Is there no way to do something like this on my ipod touch??

Use the Globe key.  Hold it down and you will get a list, or just hit it to switch.
The Globe key should appear if you have more than one keyboard chosen in settings.

  • Typing in Spanish characters

I have an iPhone4 and want to type Spanish characters after changing my keyboard appropriately, but the special characters are not present. Shouldn't it have them?

¿Qué onda? Hold down the key you want the accent over, like with the 'e'. hold it down and a list of selections will come up.

  • Sending a text using the Spanish Keyboard

When I send a message to some one in Spanish using the Spanish keyboard, they cannot read it because it shows as a bunch of squares and symbols. They are using an Envy touch to see my messages. Can some one help me? Is anyone having the same problem? Thank you!

  • Spanish Keyboards for Bolivian Orphans

I am setting up a very basic computer lab for a Bolivian orphanage. I have a $1000 grant, I will cover the rest of the costs. I am looking at buying two Lenovo G550 2958A4U laptops (Newegg: http://tinyurl.com/ygoks92). My goal is to provide systems to help expose very poor 11-15 year old children to technology. I hope to make their interaction with these systems as fun and friendly as possible. My greatest worry is the US keyboards that come on these systems. I see 3 (reasonably normal) options:
    1. Replace keyboards manually with Latin American keyboards
    2. Buy USB wireless Latin American keyboards to supplement these systems.
    3. Require them to use keyboard shortcuts to type some Spanish characters.
    I have two questions:
    1. Where can I find Latin American keyboards for Lenovo G550 2958A4U laptops and how much do they cost?
    2. Do you have any better ideas?
    Optional background information-
The amount of physical material that I can move to the orphanage is very limited. It follows that laptops are preferable to desktops. I plan on installing Ubuntu 9.10 with the Latin American language pack. I will be the only IT person and I will only have remote access to the systems.
Thank you very much for your time and help,
    Daniel

if you buy laptop from ( spanish ) lenovo, spanish keyboard option is available but i'm not sure you can find any model you like to buy.
    shop.lenovo.com : spanish
if you can find keyboard module it costs about 40-120$.
so, i suggest you to call support line for this issue.

  • HT201794 spanish keyboard on american imac

I live and bought my MAC in USA, however, I bought a keyboard Mexico to be able to use all the special characters in the Spanish vocabulary but my MAC does not respond to the characters I type. I have tried changing the keybord settings in System Preferences but haven't been succesful.

System Preferences / Language & Text / Input Sources
Tick Keyboard & Character Viewer as well as Spanish and Spanish - ISO. When that is done, a little flag will pop in the menubar. There you will find which keyboard layout is active, US will always be there. Using the Keyboard Viewer also found there, you will need to experiment which of the two Spanish layouts matches your keyboard. The Keyboard Viewer will also show you were all the characters are laid out, including those that require two keypresses: just hold down Option and see which keys light up in dark yellow.

    LizMaddock,
you can reset the input source to Spanish by selecting the Keyboard pane of System Preferences, selecting the Input Sources tab, and pressing the “+” button in the lower-left corner to select one of the Spanish input sources. The “Spanish – ISO” input source is most similar to the physical Spanish keyboard layout.

  • I right-click in a Yahoo e-mail window and select Languages - Spanish (Mexico) and start typing in Spanish, but it is not correcting my mistakes, or offering alternative spellings.

I speak English. I am living in Chile and have a Dell/MS Windows Vista (English) laptop. I have Firefox 3.6.12. I have installed the Spanish (Mexico) dictionary. I right-click in a Yahoo e-mail window and select Languages - Spanish (Mexico) and start typing in Spanish, but it is not correcting my mistakes, or offering alternative spellings.
I don't know if I have the correct plug-in, correct settings, or am expecting something that isn't possible.

Do other dictionaries work if you select them in the Languages menu?

  • Tilde equivalent in spanish keyboard?

Hi everyone, i working with perspective grid and i know that for dragging your artwork 90º from the active plane you need to press de tilde key while dragging. Now my spanish keyboard doesn´t have such a key, so: may i change the shortcut for this task anywhere into the customize keyboard shortcuts menu?.
By the way in order to actually write the tilde character i can press "alt+ñ" in my spanish keyboard but this doesn´nt work while dragging in perspective mode...

Anyway i find good idea mapping the sortcut to a tablet (or maybe vía
an application such a QuickSilver or similar). I'll try it Next time i
need to use the tilde key hardly in a project that requires isometric
    drawing.

Hi I have only 2 days in USA to buy Mac Book Pro 13" with Retina display. The issue here is that I'd like to get the westerns spanish keyboard and at the apple store the guy said it will take 6 days. I was wondering if I do the purchase within the express checkout, Will I be able to get the laptop before leaving NY on the 7th of May 2014?
I do not have any experience with the express checkout, actually I do know how it works, any advice please?
    Thanks!!!!

Call the store on the telephne and ask. However, I doubt it since a store would not normally have an item with non-USA features
Also, this is the Mac Pro desktop forum. I requested your post be moved to the MacBook Pro laptop forum

  • PS Elements 6 for Mac - Spanish keyboard shortcuts

A colleague uses a Spanish (SORT) keyboard on his Mac and cannot work out how to expand and contract the brush in PS ELements 6 (normally "[" and "]" on a US/UK keyboard, but a complete mystery on a Spanish one).
Is there a resource which shows exactly where PSE keyboard shortcuts are on various international keyboards?
    PSE6 - Mac - Spanish keyboard.

Thanks, Barbara. I couldn't find it in your book (which I treasure), but I will pass that on to my amigo. He'll have to chop to the English keyboard for when he wants to work in PSE. I think that should be easy enough. Thanks again, Geoff

  • When I'm typing on my keyboard my computer will shut down.

Help me out! When I'm typing on my keyboard my computer will shut down. I can't figure it out. It's happening more and more like several times a day. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this annoyance? My computer is updated with maverick.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after  you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post any other kind of report — it will be very long and not helpful.
