Characterstic is not showing up in Bex.

Hello,
I have created a multicube with 4 basic cubes. All basic cubes have fiscal variant as time characterstic. As well, multicube also has fiscal variant in time dimension. However, in the Query designer (Bex), this characterstic is NOT showing up. Could any one faced this kind of problem?. Your help is appreciated.

Characteristic attribute does not show correctly on BEx Web Analyzer

Hello everyone!
I'm working on a report in BEx Web Analyzer wich has the characteristic 0EMPLOYEE. When I call the context menu for this characteristic and select properties, I get a list of it's attributes. I select one of them for display.
The problem is, the value shown is not the correct one. It's an "old" value.
I change the employee's attribute in R/3 via PA30;
I succesfully update the change in BW (0EMPLOYEE master data);
The value shown is the previous one.
Is there any buffer between the BW system and a BEx Web Analyzer query wich I need to force-clear in order to see the correct data?

It was a buffer issue. I solved it by simply refreshing the query with different selection conditions to force the system to read data from the BW system.

Non-cumulative Values not showing in Inventory Management Queries

Hi:
Has anyone had a problem with the new version and Non-cumulative key figures not showing up in Bex for Inventory Managemet reports? Specifically, they showed and validated back to ECC for our Development and QA boxes but now in our Regression box they are all showing zeros. Our Cumulative values are all showing correctly still within the Regression box. For example, Total Receipts and Total Issues are correctly poplating values but Total Stock is not.
I have checked and validate that the configuration in the Regression box matches or Dev and QA box.

Found the problem. It had to do with the compression variant in the delta process chain. The compression was set to 'no marker update'. Since we only started receiving measureable deltas in or regression box this is where the incorrect setting showed up. Reinitalized and the deltas are working correctly now.

Field Explorer in Crystal Reports does not show the same names as Bex Query

I have crystal reports, I can retrieve data from BW Bex Query. But in the field explorer it does not show the names as in the Bex query designer.
In the Bex query designer a field will have the following technical name 0Debitor and the description is Customer.
It shows in crystal reports in the field explorer twice as D[0DEBITOR]D and D[0DEBITOR]D. It also does not seperate key figures and characteristics.
I would like it to display the field explorer as shown in this blog.

make sure you are using the MDX Driver and what happens is that you will see several fields per characteristic. example: one for the key, one for the description, several if modelled for the display attributes

Key Figures not showing in BEx Workbooks

Hi,
Recently we migrated the BW3.5 workbooks to BI7. After the migration and transportation of the workbooks to Quality system, in some of the workbooks the Key figures are not showing up and in some workbooks the key figures which are set as 'Hide" in the query are also showing up.
Can anyone please suggest a way to fix this issue.

Thanks for your response.
Even if there is no transaction data for the key figure, it should still show up in the report but as blank column, but in my case the key figure is not at all showing in the report.
"Hide" setting for key figure is specific only to BEx and is done in the BEx query, which is being used by the Workbooks, so i do not think that it has anything to do with the InfoObject migration.

means result is coming cummulated in bi side. but in WEBI side above kpi is NOT Showing . Already I Have allow external access to this query

In BEX designer side we create two KPI one is not cumulated and other one is Cumulated .but on WEBI side ONLY ONE KPI Which is non cumulated in nature is showing and other one which is cumulated nature is not showing

2) Second Pic KPI Is Non cumulated in nature

Bex Analyzer 3.X workbook does not show workbook title in Excel toolbar

Well,
We have just migreatd BW 3.x to BW 7.0 and when opening a workbook
in Bex Analyzer 3.x , Excel does not show workbook title on Excel
toolbar.
Instead of the workbook title, appears: "xSAPtemp" followed by some numbers.
When I open the same workbook in Bex Analyzer 7.0 the problem
does no occurr, but, we won't migrate and use new Bex Analyzer
at this moment.
Anybody can help me ?

Bex report does not show loaded data at once

Hi experts,
Why Bex report does not show loaded data at once after loading is finished but after some time?
Could be the reason of it:
a) huge amount of data in infocube.
b) there are no deleting/creating indexes before/after loading, because it takes too much time
c) anothe reason?

Hi Tigr,
A and B both can be the reasons behind, but normally in case of B option the results on report output can be wrong like duplicates sort of showing you double figures.
C - it can be resource issue, so please look into all and double check with basis if thats the case.

Calculate result as average in the report not showing average for all

Hello,
I have a calculated key figure in the query where its result should show average. I have made a setting for this calculated key figure as:
1. Calculations tab: Calculate result as "average" and calculate single value as "nothing defined"
2. Aggreagation tab: exception aggregation: Total and reference char: []
Now coming to report, BEX it showing correct average for all cells but when i run it in portal few values it is showing correct average but for few it is showing as blank. I exported this to excel then cell shows blank but cell has some values in the custom format and display values when i change the format to general from "format cells" option.
Please help me in resolving the issue- why portal not showing value for all.

2lis_03_bf data is not showing data in RSA3

Hi,
I have loaded 2lis_03_bx first for a plant using MCNB transaction,its showing data in RSA3 then I have loaded 2lis_03_bf datasource for the same plant using transaction 0LI2BW. but it is not showing data in RSA3.
I have done the above process in background.
In SM37 it is showing the following message for the 2lis_03_bf datasource

Step 001 started (program RMCBNEUB, variant &0000000000003, user ID TCS_SRM)
Date fields for info structure S032 are not generated
Job finished</b>
steps:
1.Before loading the data I have deleted data using LBWG
2.In LBWE, 2lis_03_bf is already activated.
Please help me out on resolving the above issue

ODS Settings
BEx reporting option --> If this indicator is not set, no SID's are generated for the new characteristics when the data in the ODS object is activated.This optimizes the performance of the activation process, but the ODS object is not available as an InfoProvider for queries.

Variable screen not popping up in BEx Analyzer

Experts,
I'm facing a wierd situation while executing queries in 3.5 BEx Analyzer. When the query is executed using 3.5 BEx Analyzer varibale screen does not pop and report strats running wide open. The Varible input is optional. But if the report in executed using Web (From the 3.5 Query Designer) variable screen pops up. This happens with the same user ID.
Please let me know if you have any ideas, could this be something realted to authorizations. In the meantime, i'm trying to change the varibale to mandatory and see if the variable screen pops up.

The standard behavior is not show the variable screen if it has no mandatory variables. In the webtemplate you may have the parameter forcing to show the variable screen added in the code. It is something like "force variable screen". Please check if you can see that parameter.

Bi content is not showing statistics data while running the report in porta

I installed the BI Admin Cockpit to collect the statistical information.
I can see the statistics informatio in portal only when i run the query in bex. if i run the report in portal it's not showing any statistics.

Document Flags not showing on Web Excel

We are using BW3.5 SEM4.0.
Documents are added to cells in planning layouts.
Documents flags are showing up on web and BEx reports. They are also showing up on non-Excel web planning layouts, and Excel Gui layouts.
The flags are, however, not showing on Web Excel layouts. Althought the document could still be viewed, if you know which cell they are located in.
Is there a solution to this? Thanks for reading.

I have a related problem: I set up BPS to handle the documents (and I already tested it, it works fine).
My 4 characteristics are WBS element, version, fisc per, and material.
Now, I am just creating a web reports that should also display these documents. What do I have to adjust in the Query designer? Do I have to restrict the report to exactly this combination to see them?
(I have tried Query properties ->Display ->Display Document links, it shows icons per column, but does not display any BPS document I created)

Keyfigure not showing up in Web I report

I have created a BEx query based on a multiprovider on top of a DSO and cube. We have two key figures from the DSO and one from the cube. The BEx report shows all the three key figures, but the web I shows only one keyfigure based on the cube with the other two (based out of DSO) not showing up any values.
Are there any design considerations in the universe designer to display key figures from different infoprovider types?

Hi,
First of all it is good to state the version of BO you are working with, XI31 is very different from BI40.
Reporting straight out of a DSO is not recommended, but it is possible (I've done it XI31).
However, WebI being WebI you might be better off create a query/universe on the cube and one on the DSO separately and combine them in WebI by merging on the common dimensions.
That said: when you say, the keyfigure doesn't show up, what does that mean exactly.
You generate the universe and it doesn't get generated?
Or you run the report and do not see any values in the keyfigure?
In the latter you may have a selection that is preventing you from seeing the DSO values.
How are they 'linked' to the cube, are all the characteristics you use in the report both in DSO and cube?
What if they are only in the cube, are the keyfigures set to constant selection for the missing ones?
Is the key figure set to database delegated or straightforward sum()?
Did you try to run a query on just the DSO keyfigures (no dimensions, no keyfigure from the cube)?
Post back with a little more info and we may be able to help...

Data not showing up on report

I have an Infocube that has data (ready for reporting) loaded from APO Livecache.
I'm running a BEX report that gets data from that cube, and for some reason the value for one Key figure is not showing up.
It's there in the infocube, but is not showing up on the report. The column for that key figure is just blank.
What can I check or do to see the value there?

Hi
There are no restrictions or conditions on the KF and it is running on a single Infocube.
There are non-zero values in the cube.
The field level authorizations are also fine...
we used to be able to see the values when we last ran this report 2 weeks back.
There's a calculated key figure that is a sum of this key figure that's not showing up and another one. It is showing the aggregate value correctly! Eg:
KF not showing up: Production Planned
2nd KF : On Hand Stock
Calculated KF Ending Inventory = Production Planned + On Hand Stock
Although Production Planned is not showing up in the report, I checked its value in the cube and the Ending Inventory value is summed correctly in the report.

Characterstic is not showing up in Bex.
