Charge account, not credit card.

Apple recently charged to my creit card instead of taking the cost out of my account. I have more than enough in my accout to cover the cost of a rental movie. Any thoughts??

According to the Mac App Store Terms and Conditions ...
"These Services are available for individuals aged 13 years or older. If you are 13 or older but under the age of 18, you should review this Agreement with your parent or guardian to make sure that you and your parent or guardian understand it."
From here >  TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If they meet the age limit you can setup their own accounts without a credit card > Create an iTunes App Store account without a credit
A suggestion would be to take advantage of the iTunes Store Allowance.
Or, they can redeem gift cards using their accounts > Buy Apple Gift Cards, iTunes Gift Cards & iPhone Gift Cards - Apple Store (U.S.)
Good info here  >  FAQ's  -   Apple Gift Cards
And since they would have their own accounts, whatever media, apps, or music, etc., won't be installed on your devices.

    Hi judifrom!
I have some links for you that can help shed some light on the subject of gifting through iTunes and Apple IDs. The first can be found in this link:
    Gifting - Apple Store (U.S.)
    http://store.apple.com/us/help/gifting
and the relevant information in that link can be found right here:
Gift Cards and Certificates are valid for use only in the country in which they were purchased. Only residents of the U.S may redeem gift certificates purchased in the U.S.
You can still help them set up an Apple ID without payment information so that they can download free items through the iTunes store though. The steps for performing that can be found in the following article:
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

If they are regular payments for the same amount then it sounds like you have an auto-renewing subscription - there are instructions on this page for managing and stopping them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098

I have visited a genuis bench at Fountain gate however, they tell me I need to ring apple support which I will do on the next working day.

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

You've checked the purchase history on your account (Store > View My Account on your computer's iTunes) and nobody else has access to your account ? If you don't recognise the charges then contact iTunes support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    Hello, Lynne.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is a helpful article that explains how iTunes purchases are billed.
iTunes Store: How iTunes Store purchases are billed
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5582
When using iTunes to purchase content for the first time on a new device, it may require you to verify your payment information as a way to authenticate your device.  If this not a new device attempting to access iTunes store and prompting you provide payment information, there could be an outstanding balance.  This article will show you how to verify you purchase history and invoices.
iTunes Store & Mac App Store: Seeing your purchase history and order numbers
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
Also, you can change the payment method as none as long as there isn't an outstanding balance on the account.

    Hope this helps,

  • HT3702 There are charges to my credit card from itunes that are not showing in my purchase history. How do i find out what they are?

Having trouble identifying charges to my credit card bill. The charges can not be found in my purchase history.

You haven't got any auto-renewing subscriptions (I'm not sure if they show on the purchase history or not, I don't have any so I can't check) - there are instructions on this page for managing and stopping them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
And have you added or changed your credit card details on your iTunes account ? If you have then each time that you do so a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.
    Store holding charge : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702
If you still can't find them, and your card isn't or hasn't been linked to any other accounts, then you may want to contact your card issue. You can also try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    Apple id : [email protected]

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I am being charged on my credit card for things I have not purchaed and can't get where I can talk to someone about it!

I need to talk to someone about charges to my credit card that I have not authorized and cannot get to anybody.  I have never been so frustrated in my whole life!

First point of call is to contact your credit card company and put the items in dispute.
Next you need to change your iTunes password.
Next use the following form to contact Apple as they do not have a phone number for iTunes issues:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html?form=account&topic=iTunes%20Sto re%20Account%20and%20Billing&subtopic=Account%20Security

  • HT1918 Someone Hacked my account and now I have many charges on my credit card. How do I get to talk to support about this?

My account seems to be hacked for I have over $200 in charges on my credit card that I didn't create - how can I get those stopped or cancelled and my money back?

I had this happen, itunes won't do anything. You have to claim it through your credit card and change your itunes password. I was able to cancel some pending orders but itunes support was not able to help at all. It took them three days to respond. I was also able to change the shipping address on an order and send it back.

  • HT201209 I want to use a gift card to purchase music thru i tunes, have a  $15 credit but i am asked to confirm my credit card info.  How do I purchase using my $15 credit and not be charged on my credit card?

I want to use a gift card to purchase music thru i tunes, have a  $15 credit but i am asked to confirm my credit card info.  How do I purchase using my $15 gift card credit  and not be charged on my credit card?

    Hey,
Even tho iTunes is asking to confirm your credit card details, when you purchase something it will still draw from your iTunes balance first. I think it is just a security check to ensure no one else is using your account.
This happened to me a couple of days ago but i simply conformed my details and entered my card security code then itunes took the payment from my account balance.

  • HT1933 There some charges on my credit card of stuff that I did not bought.

There some charges on my credit card that I did not bought.

The most immediate thing you need to do is to call your credit card company or bank and report the unauthorized charges. That company can contact Apple if they need additional information.
Next, log into your iTunes Store account and see if the purchases are reflected in the Purchase History. If they are, immediately change the password to your iTunes Store account, making sure it's not something easily guessed or looked up. Then go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account in which case it will be up to your bank to handle.
    Regards.
