A third party company will have to develop the product you are looking for. I would suggest checking out griffin or a company like that to see if they have such a product.

  • Apple - Any news on a iphone 3g  charger adaptor for audio docks?

My 16g iphone 3g is still lying on my desk collecting dust. I've had it for 3 weeks now.
I use my original iphone every day charging it up using my expensive Audi dock on my way to work, then if needed top up with more juice in my Bose soundock, neither of which will charge with my 3g.
You advertised the iphone as 3 products in one, a mobile phone, a web browsing device and a ipod. Now apple please will you deliver on your end or the deal and make my 3g iphone work with my ipod certified equipment, cos I am not gonna upgrade $1000 worth of equipment that I bought less than a year ago.
Apple you have a duty of care to your loyal customers, just announce whether you are gonna be providing adaptors or not, Thankyou

Thanks for the link, actually i'd already been on the Ridax site to view this solution. It all looks ok except my knowledge of electronics is very limited and have no idea if it will be safe to use in the U.K, buying a $40 converter to use in a $50,000 dollar car, not knowing if it's compliant is one risk too far for me.
I was really hoping for a product that is apple certified or better still produced by apple to solve this problem. Maybe a product that was more fairly priced, it's only a converter at the end of the day, $40 is excessive especially when I think I've got 2 Audio devices to convert. I think something around the £10 mark ($20 US) would be fair. As the Ridax converter is the only solution ATM I can see why they are able to command a $40 price tag but I'm holding out in the hope that Apple will announce something official on this matter, so I can finally clean off the dust on my 3g and start using it.

  • Is there a 12v "cigarette lighter" adaptor for charging a macbook Air?

Is there a 12v "cigarette lighter" adaptor for charging a macbook Air?

    I found this on Amazon.com:

  • Does the IPAD mini come with, or have an optional, adaptor for charging from the cigarette lighter in the car?

Does the IPAD mini come with, or have an optional, cigarette lighter adaptor for charging?

Thanks much for the links, Johnathan.  I am going to be spending this summer kayaking in SE Alaska working with a conservation group out of Sitka, measuring data from remote wilderness areas.  I found a human powered 12v charger made by Freeplay Energy that utilizes a common cigarette lighter plug in.  With one of the adaptors you have identified for me I should be able to crank power into a mini in the middle of nowhere.
I had hoped I could download the free Sirius XM app and receive satellite radio in addition to other mini uses, but Sirius informs me they don't cover SE Alaska, but could still receive broadcasts whenever I'm in one of the Sitka harbors that provide wifi, i.e. internet radio.
If any other helpful takes on my situation occur to you be assured I'm all ears.
    Thanks again.

  • Is there an adaptor for MacBook Pro so that it may be charged in a charging cart?

We have a charging cart for our iPads, and about half of the ports are free.  Wondering if there is any way to charge our MacBooks in the same cart?  (rather than have them scattered throughout the room...and we do not have a 2nd cart for them)

If you use a cart with adjustable dividers, and adjustable depth backstop, you can accomplish both tasks. I would suggest that you visit www.ipadcarts.com. Their Netvault cart can do both. If you call them, ask for Joe. We have found him to very knowledgeable and helpful.

  • 12w adaptor for ipod classic 80gb (2007)

just bought a 12w adaptor for my ipod classic 80gb (2007) but it doesn't display the charging icon when it's plugged in. i thought it was the adaptor that was faulty but it acually charges my ipad3. just wondering, can an iPod charge without displaying the charging icon? because the battery has definitely increased or at least, it displays more than half 50% more battery than when i first plugged it in. anyone knows why?!?!?

Same problem with mine. Has to be a firmware issue. I want to roll back to previous release of the ipod firmware (1.1.1?).

  • Car adaptor for w520?

I just bought myself a w520, and I'm still waiting for it to arrive.
My main usage for it is going to be in the field, driving around a lot, with very little access to a wall power point, so I'm looking at getting a car adaptor for it, but I don't seem to find any around.
I've seen a couple on ebay quoted for the w520, but they're only rated at 90w and not the full 170w, but I want to be able to use the laptop while plugged into the car, not just charge it.
    Any links/suggestions?
    Cheers!

    talsit, welcome to the forum,
I don't know of any, but would like to tag on a relevant question. Could a normal car "power point", (cigarette lighter), support a power adapter which needs to output 170W without burning out?  I'm doubtfull that it can, but remain to be corrected.

The problem with the expensive machine that you are considering purchasing is that there is a physical disc. When you move around the needle can crash down. Apple has been thus far very successful at owning up to the warranties on this machine.
I would go with something that does not have a large physical drive. If it crashes within the year, Apple will not only refuse to honor the warranty but they will try to charge you to repair or replace. It's a real slap in the face.
on the brighter side there are other options.

  • How do I get replacement AC Adaptor for RV-042

Where can I buy AC adaptor for RV-042? I use 4 of this router but 2 of these AC adaptor went bad. Can I buy AC adaptor only instead buying whole unit?
    Kiyoshi

    Dear Sir,
These days the RV042comes with a limited lifetime hardware warranty with return-to-factory replacement.
They also affer a 1-year limited warranty for  power supplies.
In addition, Cisco offers telephone technical support at no charge for the first 12 months following the date of purchase and software bug fixes, as available, for the warranty term
If you still are within the warranty support period for the power supplies, please have a chat to the folks at the small business Support Center.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html
If you have had the Rv042 for longer than a year, then the powersupplies only qualify for one years warranty. But, if I owned them personally it should not be hard to  source locally 12VDC 1.5A power supplies. I would check out someone like radioshack with old power supply in hand.
I guess you have electronics suppliers near your vacinity?
    regards Dave.

  • Do they make a car power adaptor for air yet?

where can i get a car power adaptor for my mac air 11 in?

They do not. The Airline adapter they sell, will not work.
You are best off just buying an 12v DC-120 AC inverter and using your existing AC Charger/adapter.

  • USB charging adaptor compatibility.

    Hello,
I bought blackberry z3 from amazon about a month ago. The charging adaptor which came with the bundle is with model no. RM0200 and RIM Part no. HDW-53513-001.
In the booklet with the bundle this adaptor is not listed as the approved charger for BlackBerry z3. Kindly help me if anybody has got the same issue or if somebody knows that this model charger is compatible with the device.
    Thanking you in anticipation.

I asked this exact question to an Apple Genius this morning and they said that they thought the USB device draws too much power, and therefore is disabled for non-MacBook Air computers. He did not sound like he knew for sure, but sounded like a guess. I cannot see how a device like this would draw more current than the standard USB port supplies. I'm a bit skeptical that the Superdrive would require some insane amount of power either. It is probably less of a power issue specifically, but perhaps a stepped up voltage level on the buss so they do now have to put a step down transformer into the accessory - thereby minimizing the form factor of the enclosure? I'm all for the design of the MBA and its core functionality that eliminates features, but to make accessories that require a "certain type" of USB connection seems like a bad decision to me. Perhaps firewire with its higher voltage / power levels would have been the more intelligent port to have in place of the headphone jack... there are lots of USB headphones and even USB to mini-jack adapters these days...

  • Will my iPhone 4 charging adaptor (output 5v, 2.1a) work with my iPhone 5?  The adaptor that comes with the 5 is 5v, 1a.

Will my iPhone 4 charging adaptor (output 5v, 2.1a) work with my iPhone 5?  The adaptor that comes with the iPhone 5 has an output of 5v, 1a.  I am concerned that the output is too high for the 5.

It will work fine. The iPhone will only draw the power it wants.

  • Charging cradle for E65

Does anyone know if there is or will be a charging cradle for the E65? The link only mentions the two car kit versions....

Hi there, Brodit appear to do three cradles, one which is totally passive, i.e. it just holds the phone, one which charges the phone via a cigar lighter adaptor, and finally one which uses the pop-port cable from the CK-7W. I have this latter option. It seems to work absolutely fine, charges the phone and generally I am delighted with it. Sometimes it takes a little concentration to get the phone into the cradle, but compared to my wife's 6230i and MBC-15S, it is no worse.
There shoud be little to worry about with the Brodit cradle as it connects th CK-7W's cable directly into the bottom of the phone, but it does it while holding in the relase button so you don't have to mess around like you would with a universal cradle. It really works well, you slide the phone in, and when leaving the car just slide it out.
Regarding the aerial, I think you will generally be disappointed with the current Nokia range. Whereas on your CARK-91 there was an actual physical aerial connection to the phone, I think on all modern Nokia kits this is no longer an option as there aren't connections for the antenna on the handsets. On the more mainstream handsets there is an antenna couple, though they are not available for the E65 as there is no Nokia cradle, or for the E70, which I had previously. These couplers aren't great, and this is by no means a disaster. They work by being mounted behind and above the cradle, but are not phyically connected to the phone. While they may enhance signal very slightly, it is probably almost negligable, and I have no problems without one. I am on Vodafone, and seldom struggle for signal with the phone in the Brodit holder. While I was between phones I used I think a 6100 in the same cradle as my wife's 6230i, but while in her car we have an antenna coupler, in mine I didn't bother as it was only interim. I could tell no noticable difference in reception between the two cars.
Hope the above is of use, if you want to know anything else, please just ask.

Wil this work for an older macbook pro?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That charger is perfect for your MacBook Pro, so you can buy it and use it with your computer. If you want, you can buy the 85W one, that provides more power and makes the battery charge faster, at least for the 15 and 17-inch MacBook Pro
