Charge display stuck at 100%

The charge display on my iPad 3 is stuck at 100% even though I know the battery is below that level.
Any ideas?  I rebooted and still the same display.
The only thing that has changed recently is that I updated the IOS.

Okay, nevermind, as soon as I wrote this question the display moved down to 99%
Strange . . . I've been using it off and on this morning and typically the battery is more used at this point.

Are you by any chance using iTunes 7.0.2 and firmware version 1.2?
If you are then I would surmise that you are the victim of a bug in the firmware (if you look at the forum there are thousands of people with the same issue)
Unfortunately for us users Apple appear to be burying their head in the sand on this one because there has been no official recognition of the problem, meanwhile people are continuing to download the firmware, oblivious to the fact that this will render their precious and much loved iPods completely useless.
This is clearly a completely cynical policy by Apple because they know that publicly admitting the problem would seriously harm their sales in the busy Christmas period.......POOR SHOW APPLE!!! THIS WILL HARM YOU MUCH MORE IN THE LONG TERM.
Fear not though, they will not be able to hide it for long because I know that the BBC are investigating this.

  • HP Spectre x360 battery stuck at 100%

I just got the HP Spectre x360 from the MS Store (signature edition). In addition to the noisy tapping on the touchpad, here's the problem I noticed right away: The Windows battery indicator is stuck at 100% for about an hour (after disconnecting from AC), and then immediately drops to something like 92%. From then on, the discharge appears to be normal. I tried following the advice here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Notebook-PC-Questions/Battery-Indicator-shows-100-charged-at-all-times/td-p/1303467 -- did not help. Also, tried calibrating the battery via the diagnostics tool, but it passes the check and the option to calibrate is never offered. If needed, I can attach the battery info displayed after the check. Latest BIOS from HP. Note that this is a 2-day old purchase, which can be returned/exchanged. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi ,
Welcome to the HP Forums! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. Thank you posting. I have read your post, and I understand that the battery indicator does not decrease until the volume drops to 92%. I am happy to assist you with that. Please empty and fully charge your battery several times. And if the problem still persists, please manually calibrate the battery. • IPad3 (new iPad) stuck at 100% battery

Today I've been using iTunes to transfer some content to my new Ipad. The battery seems to be stuck at 100% though, I've tried resetting the iPad, using it for a few hours at full brightness, and connecting the charger. Stays at 100% no matter what. Also disabling the % counter and re-enabling it, didn't help. Any idea what's going on here?
Need to get this fixed asap, I'm leaving for a long trip to China in about 30 hours, rather annoying to have my iPad act up on my just now :/

This has happened to me twice since getting the new iPad.  The first time, I fixed it by turning off the % indicator then turning it back on.  The second time, it took about 2 or 3 hours of use and then it finally went down.  Interestingly, when it finally dropped, it did not show a sigificant decrease (such as a drop to 80%) nor did it seem to decrease any faster than usual.
Both times I tried the reboot/reset approach described above by Dah-veed, but it didn't work.  Since I am a brand new apple user, I was too afraid to do the restart/restore method since I don't fully understand what that would do to my settings, saved data and apps that I have purchased.
I've seen numerous headlines recently about the iPad intentionally reporting a 100% charge before the battery is fully-charged. I'm not sure if this is related to the problem we are having but, it confirms that, by apple's own admission, the battery meter is intentionally designed to give an inaccurate reading.  Perhaps that intentional tweak to the battery meter is causing other problems with the % display.  Just a guess.

  • Disk Usage stuck at 100%, Factory installed windows 8 running like a turtle not being able to use my laptop. What should i do?

I have a HP Pavillion Sleekbook 15-b002ee with Third generation core i5 processor 1.7 GHz, 500 GB Hard disk and 4 GB of RAM installed. Windows 8 came pre installed on it.
I bought this laptop 11 months ago and it worked fine for 10 months and then from the last month its presenting unusual problems. My disk usage is stuck at 100% and the laptop freezes and never lets me work or do anything. Heres what i have already done
to solve the issue but have been unsuccessful:
    1) I have reset my PC completely and reinstalled windows 8 using the factory setup. Didnt solve the issue, newly installed windows displays the disk usage 100% and the performance is same i.e the system freezes.
    2) I have tried adjusting my paging file, no change made a difference to the performance of my laptop. The default system managed Paging file size is something around 3.89 Gb. Does my problem have anything to do with my paging file?
    3) I have tried solving this issue by disabling the "Windows Search" and "Superfetch" services and still it didnt solve the problem.
    4) I have also run checkdisk on my hard drive completely. It took me a complete day to do so but still no change.
    5) Before resetting my laptop, an error called "Kernel_data_inpage(http.sys)" used to come on my upgraded windows 8.1. Whats the issue?
So what should i do? Is there any problem with my hardware? Is my hard drive having bad sectors and is that causing the problem? Or is there any other technical problem which i couldnt yet find out?
I have explained my problem in a lot detail and i would like a clear answer please, i have been at this issue for many days and this forum seems like the last place where i can find relevant answer because Google isnt helping.
    Thanks in advance.

    Ask here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/.
This web site is for help in writing software and you are not planing in doing that. In the future, look around to see what others are saying before posting to a forum. If you can not understand what others are saying most likely you are in the wrong
forum, and chances. are your questions will be ignored .
If you are looking for help on a particular Microsoft product, start your search from support.microsoft.com instead of going to a random Microsoft forum. But since you got a HP laptop, chances are you have software prompted by HP as well, like antivirus/printer
applications etc, so better ask HP first.

  • IPhone 4s battery stuck at 100 percent. How do I get it back to normal?

iPhone 4s battery stuck at 100 percent. How do I get it back to normal?
Ever since the update, I am having issues with the battery. Phone shuts down while it still shows 100 percent battery life. Normally not a big deal because I don't use it all the time but lately an issue when I'm working in Manhattan and it shuts down while in the middle of conversation or emailing.
I can't go around charging it every hour wondering what my battery life really is.
    Please help!

My phone now is not working at all. It only works for a few minutes while it is plugged into the wall and then it shuts down and pops right back up showing it has 75% battery. It has been doing this since yesteday afternoon.
I tried the reset and it is still acting up. Dreading having to take this to the Apple store since it is past the initial 90 days and I will probably get charged for it. :( Dont want to shell out money for a new one since I just got this one in October.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Volume level gets stuck at 100%, iPhone 3g

iPhone 3g, running the latest 2.0.1.
I just got the phone yesterday but twice now the volume has gotten stuck at 100%. The volume display reads full blocks and you can't change it with the volume controls or vibrate switch. Even if you go into the iPod section, and try to drag the volume slider down, it just slowly creeps back up to full. The only way to 'fix' this is a reboot.
Has anyone else had this? Are there are any fixes?

    Hey [ shua ],
Do you have a protective case on the iPhone? Try testing without it.
Also, try restoring the iPhone. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305744
If the issue persists after restoring the iPhone may need hardware repair. Make a reservation to have a Mac Genius take a look at it or call AppleCare.

  • Battery reading stuck at 100% (iPad3)

My battery display on my new iPad (3rd gen.) is stuck at 100% even after using it for a couple of hours.  It happened last week and I was able to fix it by turning off the percentage display under settings and turining it back on.  Now that I've recharged, the problem has come back.  I've also tried to reboot by holding down sleep and home but that doesn't work.  I've read that other people have had this problem with the iPad2, but most of them blamed it on an iOS update.  Just wondered if anybody has experienced this with the iPad3, and if so, can you offer a solution?
    Thanks

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • Z30 stuck at 100 % boot

    Hi guys,
so, strange thing: My Z30 ran out of battery yesterday, I recharged it this morning, it started to reboot but is now stuck at 100 Percent for at least 3 hours. I tried a soft-reset (Power and Volume Up/Down) but it just reboots to a 100 percent and stays there.
Has anyone any idea what to do (preferably without destroying the data, i have some 2 Factor Auth settings on there, that I kind of need...)
    Regards

There is the possibility of using an autoloader file to reload the OS, and doing so will wipe all current data from the z30.

  • IPad 1 battery indicator stuck at 100%

Since yesterday my iPad's battery indicator has been stuck at 100%. I've used it for a few hours since charging it, so I know the indicator is incorrect. Has anyone else encountered this?
I've tried powering it off and on again, but it still reads 100%.

  • MacBook Pro battery level indicator is stuck at 100%

Got this MacBook Pro in January of 2008. Great machine, replaced battery last spring and more recently had some sort of repair done when the screen would not activate. No problems otherwise.  Now all of a sudden my battery level indicator is stuck at 100% regardless of actual battery charge level. The computer will allert me that it needs plugged in immediately or it will go to sleep, but it would be nice to have the indicator working again. Any ideas?
    JG

    If it's a pre-unibody MBP with a removable battery:
    1)  Shut the computer down
    2) Disconnect the Magsafe AC adapter
    3)  Remove the battery
    4)  Hold the power button down for 5-6 seconds
    5)  Reinstall the battery.
    6)  Connect the Magsafe adapter to power and turn the computer back on.
This will reset the System Management Controller.  One of the SMC's functions is reporting of the status and remaining charge of the battery.

  • Iphone 5 battery is stuck on 100%

is there any way of resetting the %?
I changed the battery due to it running out at 20-36% most days, since putting the new battery in it has been stuck on 100%, I even tried the original battery and another new battery but still get the same, it doesn't change.
Also when when the phone is switched off for any reason, once switched back and is used for what ever or put straight on charge it seems to crash and reset after around 3/4 mins, all 3 batteries do the same thing. I've found that if I plug it in to switch it on then remove charger for about 5 mins or I dont touch anything for 5 mins then when I go back to it it can be used/charged as normal.
I can deal with it but it's just annoying more than anything, does any one have any ideas as to why this has happened and can I sort it?
    Changing IOS didn't help
    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, by changing the battery yourself, you could have damaged something in the phone. Your problem is beyond the scope of this forum as the iPhone is not user serviceable. I suggest you try some of the self fix it sites on the web. They might be able to solve the problem or at least point you in the right direction.
Hope you can solve the problem.

  • IPhone 5 battery getting stuck at 100%

I recently got an iPhone 5 16GB as a gift, and I love it. I have only charged it 5 times and the lowest I've let the battery get so far is 14%. However the one problem i've been having is that two of the five total times i've charged it, the battery percentage will be stuck at 100% for about 2-3 hours even after moderate to heavy use before it starts to show that it's going down. The only conclusion I have for this is that the lowest I've let the battery get is 14% and not completely drained yet. Would charging the phone to 100% then letting it get so low that it turns itself off fix this issue?

Depending upon what you consider to be "moderate to heavy use" what you are seeing might be normal.  I charge my iPhone 5 every night, many mornings, it goes 1-1.5 hours before it drops form 100%.  I don't use my iPhone all the time, but I do tend to use it to look at emails in teh morning beofer I get to the office.  In the 1.5 hours after I unplug it, it may have 10-15 minutes of "screen on time" before the battery meter shows it dropping from 100%.  I suspect that there is nothing wrong with your iPhone or battery, it is just that you might not be sued to the battery efficiency the iPhone 5 has in comparison to older iPhone models.
