Charge indicator won't go away

When I eject+unplug my iPod Video 30gb from my computer or take it out of my dock, it still says its plugged in. When I turn off, there is an icon in center that says "Charged" even though its not plugged in. Reset + restore a no-go. I'm afraid that this will drain my battery!

Folks,
Thanks for your responses and I humbly apologize for my own confusion. Apple Chat Tech Support also felt this was a bug and will inform me of any remedies on this.
There are others reporting the same thing and as everyone here is reporting, it is normal to have the charge indicator remain.
My ipad was still on ios6 (my stupid bad). with ios 7, the charge indicator still remains after 100% charge.
I will go ahead and close this and appreciate everyone's time in confirming this is normal.
With that said, many are suggesting this lightning bolt go away when fully charged so that (for those that don't display the x% ) will know when the battery is fully charged and not have to guess.
Thanks again!

• New mail indicator won't go away

My mail icon continuously says I have 1 new mail even though I don't -- once I access my inbox it says I have no new messages, but the icon won't go away.
Also, I have BCC turned off, but my gmail is still BCCing me all of my sent messages. How can I make it stop?

Reset your phone(hold down home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo comes up)
As for Gmail go to Settings>Mail>Select the Gmail account>Advanced> and make sure that in the Mailbox Behaviors the Sent Mailbox is set to <Sent Messages>

• Erroneous software update indicator won't go away

I have the App Store icon on my dashboard and it shows the little red circle with a number "1" in it indicating that I have a software update. I click on that and it tells me that I have an update for iMovie. No big deal so far. When I click on the "update" box to download the software a dialog box opens up informing me "You have updates available for other accounts. Sign into 'other user' to update applications for that account" where 'other user' is my wife's account - we share the same laptop. Repeatedly clicking "update" merely opens the same dialog box.
If I then go into my wife's account on this computer and do the software update it shows no updates are available, including iMovie. If I do an update within the App Store it also shows that no updates are available.
I have confirmed that I am running the latest version of iMovie (when I first saw this update it did update correctly).
Any idea how I can get this little red circle to go away since I really don't have any updates?
One final bit - my children use this computer, as well, and they also show an update indicator, but get the same error message that I do.
Please let me know if you need any additional information to help me solve my problem! Thanks!

Have you simply tried restarting the MacBook?

• Revolution VM indicator won't go away

Started yesterday when i rec some VM's. I have listen to them and deleted them.
After shuting off (overnight) the indicator is still there.
I dial VM and it says I have no messages.

Going to Settings and finding Call Settings is fine but beyond that there is nothing on a Revolution that allows me to do any of the things you suggest.
I have 2 entries now that indicate i have 21 and 6 VM's but when i dial it says no messages.
Earlier today i tried dialing into to VM and it would shut down before i could put in password. Got past that now but VM symbol at top of phone.

• Why does the charge indicator never go away in iOS 7???

I think it is a HORRIBLE design in iOS 7! The charging icon NEVER goes out, even if your phone is completely charged!

I guess it's now a "connected to power" indicator instead of a "charging" indicator. I just look at the percent and how full the battery icon looks.

• Plug Into Outlet Sign Won't Go Away!!! Help!

I am so frustrated. A few things happened before I plugged my Mini in.
1) I downloaded the new version of iTunes to my computer.
2) My brother and I put a bunch of new songs on my iTunes.
3) I plugged my Mini into my computer. It synced only some of the songs and said to sync all songs, I needed the newer version downloaded onto the iPod itself.
4) I clicked download and it downloaded when my Mini was plugged into the computer.
5) Then it said to plug the iPod into a wall charger and an icon showing the iPod charger being plugged into a wall outlet.
6) I plugged it in to a wall charger and it did nothing...just shows the same icon.
7) I bought a new wall charger (I thought the charger was bad) and it still does nothing and shows the same icon.
8) I have tried everything that I can (the R's that it will let me do)
9) When I plug the Mini into my computer, it won't recognize the iPod in iTunes or on my computer. My computer acts as if it doesn't exist and while the iPod is plugged into the computer...there is still that same stinking icon that won't go away.
I need help and I really hope that someone our there can help.
Thanks so much!!!

I did some reading online about all the people who had the same problem, then went to Wal-mart, bought a Belkin car charger for $20, went out to my car and plugged it in. It updated in about 30 seconds. I then went back into the store and returned the car charger.
Just get a car charger, use it and return it. Easiest fix ever especially after a day of tearing my hair out when the wall charger didn't work.

• Strange file in trash that won't go away?

I have a strange file that appeared in my Trash the other day. I tried to empty the trash multiple times, but it won't go away. Secure empty trash doesn't help, as it just gets stuck. Double-clicking on the file, getting info on the file, or dragging the file out of the trash just results in the item disappearing, only to reappear shortly thereafter. Here is a screenshot of the filename, as it is very strange (I am posting it as a picture so there are no font issues):
Click on the image if it doesn't appear.
I have no idea what's going on. I tried repairing permissions to no avail. Should I run a disk utility such as Techtool or Diskwarrior? Is this a virus? Could this be related to my weird Time Machine issues (where Time Machine will come up with an error, see below for picture)?
Click on the image if it doesn't appear.

from Apple docs worked for me. Mine was \\\\\\\.\\\ derived from installing Windows.
If there are several locked files in the Trash, you can unlock them all at the same time at the command line. Follow these steps:
1. Open Terminal. It's located in /Applications/Utilities.

Type: chflags -R nouchg
Note: Type one space (not pictured) after nouchg in the line above, so that it ends in "nouchg ". Do not press Return yet.

2. Double-click the Trash icon in the Dock to reveal the contents of the Trash. If necessary, arrange the Finder window so that a portion of the Terminal window is still visible.
3. Press the Command-A key combination to select all files in the Trash.
4. Drag the files from the Trash to the Terminal window.
Note: This automatically enters the pathname for each file. This eliminates the need to individually empty multiple Trash directories, particularly when multiple disks or volumes are present.

5. Press Return. No special text message will be shown indicating that the command was successful.
6. Empty the Trash.
If the Trash does not empty or if you see a message in Terminal that says "usage: chflags [-R [-H | -L | -P]] flags file..." you most likely did not type the text in step 2 as indicated or did not leave a space. Repeat the steps if this happens.

• 20G U2special edition i-pod "do not disconect" won't go away

Hello I need help!!!!
I connected the Ipod to the pc and the "do not disconnect" icon appeared...Then it took a while I tried to disconnected in the pc using the eject button but my pc didn't recognized it(ITUNES didn't recognized the ipod either) I intalled the latest software, try to use the updater to restored but it can't read it. Now I plug everything off of it and it still shows that Icon. I put it to charge and it looks its charging and when using the hold button I can de the little lock icon, but the "do not disconnect icon is still there my pc doesn't recornize it and I can't listen to anything.
If anyone have ideas please let me know Thanks!

Now when I connect my nano to the new computer, it says it's synching but when it's done the "do not disconnect" won't go away (I let it stay connected all night and when I woke up it was still there)
If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes version 7 or later, connect the iPod and when you see the summary screen, uncheck the box marked "enable disk use".
If you are using an earlier version of iTunes, right click on the iPod in the source list, select options and uncheck the same box.
In future your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music.

• BT charge indicator killed in 1.1.2

Just installed 1.1.2 update. BT charge indicator no longer shows up above main battery status when inserted in the travel charger. If BT headset is turned on, charged indicator shows up in top status bar but goes away if headset is plugged into travel charger cable. Anyone else see this?

Installing software/firmware from any other channel than the official one -- automatically from iTunes -- is at your own risk. The symptoms some of you have -- missing indicators, etc. -- indicates problems with the download process.
The best thing you can possibly do is resist what you read and wait until the software is officially released. That's the only way you can be sure the software is ready -- and the only way you can get service if needed.
Meaning, if you need AppleCare or help at a store and you are in the U.S. and say you are using 1.1.2, you could face a rejection of service. Just please be aware before you download.

Why do you keep churning out this drivel?
If people click the 'Restore' button (which they are entitled to do any time they like) and they get the 1.1.2 update then it is a valid update provided by Apple. It is an 'official' update provide by Apple.
Apple will not refuse service because you have 1.1.2 installed as iTunes install it 'officially' when you do a Restore. You have no choice which update you install when you Restore, you get 1.1.2 whether you like it or not. If you go to the Apple Store and have 1.1.2 installed you simply say "I had an issue so I did a restore".
Don't try to stick your nose in when you clearly do not know what you are talking about.

• Apple Picture won't go away and won't turn on!

Help! First my nano was stuck in disc mode, took it to the apple store, they got out and said it just needed to charge .... now the Apple picture won't go away and I can't turn it on. I 've been letting it charge for two to three hours! What's wrong

I ended up having the same problem last weekend as well. My 80 gig iPod was acting weird from the very beginning (not remembering view settings), and its only a few months old.
I took it to the Apple Store, they ran a diagnostic, and it turned out it had corrupted drive. Thankfully I had applecare and they replaced it. I picked it up today, and guess what... This one doesnt remember the view settings either.

I didn't have this problem until I updated to 7.1 & also updating to 7.1.1. Before then I was able to plug in my phone to any computer & charge it & transfer pics & videos with no problem. Now the "Do you trust this computer?" Question constantly comes up & no matter how many times I click on "trust" it won't go away. Just keeps popping up. Anyone else with this problem? Thanks!

Can anyone help me please? Thanks!

• My ipad was is displaying an alert message " A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media". So it has been connected to the internet over night and this morning but is still displaying the alert message and it won't go away. what to do?

Hi,
My name is Norbert. I am having some difficulties restoring my icloud back up. My ipad was doing an icloud back up and the alert message displayed on the ipad after my internet was interrupted "A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media".

Please can anyone with a similar experience tell me what to do in this situation?

Have you tried a hard restart. Press the on/off button and homescreen buttons together until the device shuts down.

• After IOS 8 update, bookmark bar won't go away

After upgrading to IOS 8 on my iPad 2, in landscape mode in Safari, the bookmarks bar, now combined with links and "Reading List", won't go away. I believe it is supposed to go away when you select one of the functions, such as bookmark, so that the tab turns blue, then hit it again. It doesn't. I can turn it to portrait mode to make it go away, but I'd like to use landscape mode without losing a third of the screen to bookmarks.

Apple knows what's good for you - how dare you criticizing their benevolent parental guidance?
Jokes aside, I'm also a little bit puzzled that there's no option to choose between the "toggle on-off" setting in landscape mode and the fade out one as in portrait In Safari's settings. But there's actually some kind of workaround I'm now using most of the time in landscape mode:
When tapping the URL address bar your bookmarks will also show above the virtual keyboard as they do when Safari doesn't have any websites opened. As soon as one taps into that bookmark window to scroll or directly click a bookmark the keyboard disappears again. It may not be a perfect method, especially when bookmarks aren't organized in folders, because the top level bookmarks are displayed as rather largish icons. But those contained in a folder will actually display as a drop-down list (can be scrolled when having a large number of entries) similar to the normal bookmarks list. Once a bookmark has been clicked everything fades out and you're taken to the selected site. As my bookmarks are almost exclusively in folders such as "News", "Sports", "Tech" etc. I've come to appreciate this kind of bookmark navigation much more than through the standard bookmarks menu with its annoying behavior in landscape mode.
