Charge my phone with USB cable
Hi DearsI have a Z3-compact phone. When I connect it to my copmuter with usb cable, it does not charge.Please help me, how can I solve this problem????

Welcome to the community.
One thing to note, if you are using the device on say a work computer, there may be security restrictions that wont allow MTP mode to charge the handset.
You could try changing the device in to MSC mode and then seeing if the charge works.
Menu > Settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB Connectivity > USB Mode > MSC

I upgraded my iPhone 4 last evening to iOS 6, the upgrade completed and the device was usable. Then in the morning I went to the device to check E-mail, Voice Messages, Test Messages, etc... and the phone was dead. I tried plugging the device into a charger (for a couple of hours) - still dead. Plugged into computer with iTunes, device not recognized or discovered, and iPhone was still dead... Took the iPhone into an Apple Store and the Technician looked it over for any visible signs of defect/malfunction, then performed various tasks to breathe life into the phone - nothing... His suggestion, at this point, was to replace the phone. He speculated that the iOS upgrade possibly corrupted the iPhone's charging firmware, and that this device was now a BRICK. Keep in mind that the phone and it's charging abilities were perfectly fine prior to the iOS Upgrade. I hate to go through the replacement hassle and the cost ($159.00) when the iOS upgrade caused the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The downside is that you need 2 USB ports available if you want to transfer data and charge the phone at the same time: one for the CA-100 and one for the provided CA-101 data cable.
Alterntatively you could use a CA-126 charging/data cable, which is like a CA-100 and CA-101 in one cable. Type-A USB plug on one end and both a 2mm charging port connector and a microUSB plug on the other.

Hi guys.Got a problem with my iPhone 5. I bought it in a shop 4 month ago. After I got a visitor with iOS 7 on his phone he would like to charge his phone with my Laptop and cable.But when he plugged it in it showed a message wich says: " This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this phone".
How is this possible? I then phoned the shop and told them my problem. When I gave them the details I also found out that the imei No. in the iPhone is the same as on the original box. But the the Serial numbers are different. I already try the support centre but I’m over the 90 days.And there is no Apple Store in Namibia. I hope someone can help me here. and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money.. -

A firewire cable is something completely different, and although the 5th gen iPod will charge via a firewire cable they are not supplied with the iPod (because the iPod won't accept data transfer via firewire).
When reading about the iPod battery, you should remember that there is an awful lot of nonsense said. I've never found any difference whatsoever either charging via a mains adaptor or via a computer. -

There is no other way than to plug into a computer to restore the phone. You can use another computer to do so, but in case you did not back up to iCloud your data and settings will be gone.

I am having difficulty charging my iphone with the cable. Its been 1 yr since I bought the phone. Does the cable becomes useleless after a year. Whats the life span for the cable? It automatically gets disconnected and then get connected again.
That is shorter than normal. Any signs of wear? And you're sure it's the cable, not one of the pins in the iPhone's charging port?

IPod Nano 1st Gen Wont Charge With USB Cable
I just purchased a brand new 4 gb white 1st gen iPod nano. From the moment I took it out of the packaging and tried to charge it with the provided USB cable I noticed it was not working. No response at all, nothing was getting into the iPod. I tried multiple USB cables with equal luck.
I have a Dension I.C.E Link Plus in my car, I figured I'd try it, sure enough the iPod Nano began charging and booted up. I finished charging it to a full charge in my car.
After a few days of use, I went to charge my iPod via USB cable and when I plug it in, it connects to the computer I can transfer songs perfectly but it constantly states that the iPod is "charged" displaying the plug battery icon not the flashing thunder bolt. So I figured it was charged, when I unplugged it from the USB cable the battery meter was clearly not charged.
So, I assumed it was my computer USB ports being messed up so I purchased a A/C Wall Charger Adapter. Once again it would only display "charged" so far the only thing that will charge my nano is my car.
With the A/C wall charger I have even tried multiple cables with no luck.

If you are you can take it to a Apple store, or request service online here http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
If it is out of warranty you can google a third party service provider and get it serviced out of warranty. There are two that I know of that provide free diagnostic service. You only pay for shipping and they will tell you what is wrong and what it will cost to fix. They are ifixipodsfast.com and ipodmods.com but there are others also (I just have no experience with them) Good luck and as was stated it should charge from your usb. and just for grins, look at the docking connector on your ipod and see if there is any obstruction that is obvious. -

Battery charging of ipad2 using USB cable
I am unable to charge my ipad2 when attached via USB to any of my computers. It states "not charging" on the ipad. Are there any settings I need to change in order to charge via USB?

This is not correct. If the battery icon on your iDevice doesn't show the lightning bolt, it isn't charging no matter how long you leave it on there. Most accessory USB ports on computers aren't powered and are bus-powered drawing power from the computers USB interface without a seperate power hookup. That aside, for devices the require more power than this, they will not work with this type of USB, as in the iPad. Most USB's that have the juice to power anything are typically found on the back of the computer and typically only provide 500mA which again is pretty low. That would charge it, but you might as well watch corn grow which would be faster.
As for the software you speak of, not heard of it, but willing to check it out. -
I just bought a new HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer. I have been unable to download the installation for wireless connection even though have had the assistance of Costco tech, HP tech and some advice from Apple. Because the system is MacOs 10.5.8 the error says it is incompatible, even though the product lists compatiblilty with 10.5, 10.6. I was advised 1 option might be to obtain Snow Leopard for installation, however am somewhat reluctant as the bo states 10.5 should work and Snow Leopard is 10.6, which is also listed as compatible. I am unable to get the printer to work even with USB cable. Too much time spent on this and I hate to start over with another printer because I'm afraid I might have the same trouble. Is Snow Leopard something I should get anyway? Help!
