Charge/Power on loop
My iPod won't charge. I plug it into my Mac and it shows the battery-charging icon and then it tries to turn on and shows the main Power-On screen and then "turns off" and goes back to the battery-charging icon. It loops like this forever. I left it over night and all day and no change at all. It won't hold any charge.
Try:

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

"Universal Laptop DC car charger power adapter" for Lenovo g530
Hey there, I'm a complete tech numskull, so pardon me if this is incredibly naive. I recently made an impulse buy of an off-brand "Universal Laptop DC car charger power adapter" with the hopes of using it in a car with my Lenovo G530. I haven't gotten it yet but after purchasing it, I noticed the power adapter that came with my Lenovo is "AC." Is it possible to us the DC adapter with my laptop, where my cord says "AC"? I obviously don't want to fry my laptop and was wondering what I should look out for. The adapter was pretty cheap, which is another red flag but it also means I won't be out much if I made a mistake in buying it (ebay purchase).
Thanks in advance for your input. It seems the spare is the new specs. Check these 2 spares. They are the same 4.74amp. http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-3000-G530-444638U-Adapter/dp/B002Z209G6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronic... http://www.amazon.com/COMPUTER-Power-Adapter-Cord-LENOVO/dp/B002MY2MLM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electron...

Charger/power cable replacement
Hi there, I need to replace the charger/power cable on my 2008 1,1 Macbook air- I wonder if anyone knows whether a 2011 AIr cable would work ? Many Thanks
Yes, it will work. At some point in time, Apple changed the charging connector, and you may need to purchase an adapter form the Apple store.

Battery is not charging Power source: power adapter
I am very confused by my MagSafe power adaptor.
Often I get : "Battery is not charging Power source: power adapter" with an orange LED on the adapter, Last time this happened the battery was 65% charged
Right now I have NO led on "1:33 until full. Power Source: Power adapter"
Sometimes, I get a dim green LED
Each of these becomes normal on removing and reseating the adapter.
The spring loaded pins are perfectly sprung and are clean. The receiving bit of the laptop is clean. The adapter clicks in perfectly. The battery is new enough (and this happened when the battery was replaced anyway, and beforehand).
This happened since I got a new style adapter, the one where the cable is parallel to the Macbook, not the one where it sticks out at 90 degrees. I have two of these, and it happens with both.I let the battery drop to 71% and connected the cable. Orange LED.
Now we are at 87%, just clicked up to 88% with No LED showing.
0:52 until full (was 0:58 when it said 87%)
Power source: Power Adapter
I have done all the checks in the link you gave me, done them to the letter. Pins look good, receptor looks good. My lead is the L shaped one. The adapter is the 60W one
89% now, 0:49 until full
Obviously it is 'working', but weirdly

Z77A-GD65 Error 55 / Power On Loop
Woke up this morning and my Z77A-GD65 wont boot.. Powers on then restarts in a continous power on loop.
System has been working fine for last 3 months and has not been overclocked
Error 55 = no ram detected
Tried three different sticks of memory all from different vendors and all ram slots and the same problem persists.
Tried a celereon g540 and still the problem persists.
Have resest cmos via onboard button and by taking out the battery and problem persists.
Power supply is working fine on other system..
Ram Cpu Vga hard drives are tested and are working in other systems just fine
Any Ideas ??

Just faced a rather strange issue, but not really an issue, just different system behaviour than expected.
System:
W520
Batteries:
55++ connected
27++ connected
Power adapter:
Unplugged
No other accessories connected.
Scenario:
I was using the system till it power itself off due to low power (0% reached for both batteries). i.e. Ungraceful Windows shutdown. Then upon pressing the power on button, the LEDs flashes, no THINKPAD logo or BIOS message appears, system appears to then restart again, and the LEDs flash again...and loops until it was no longer able to even attempt to POST.
Expected behaviour:
Either display the message that says "Battery level is too low".
Or
Don't loop (this is the behaviour when only the 55++ battery is connected at 0%)
Why does having the 27++ would make the system go through this looping cycle?Hello Chatbox,
I can understand your issue very well, as there is no message comes on the screen which gives you information to plug the power adapter and prevent the laptop to get shut down.
You should install Power Manager software and then customize it as per your requirement.
The software can be download from the mentioned below web link.
http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/8mu417ww.exe
Hope, after this laptop will not shut down automatically due to battery backup
Best Regards,
Tanuj

My MagSafe Charger / Power Supply is not working
I am using mid 2009 13" MacBook Pro with 85W MagSafe . My operating system is Lion 10.7.4.
I heard a "click" coming from the direction of where my charger and just before and now its not working.
The light is not coming on the charger itself
No power is shown be coming into the computer on the Desktop toolbar either, nor does my computer that there's a charger plugged in.
I have tried the charger in a number of the different sockets around the apartment and still no joy
The transformer "block" is cold
Could this be a s simple as a blown fuse in the plug or something else altogether?
I need to fix this asap. No power = no computer. All help much appreciated.I've copy and paste info from under AC. The MagSafe charger is physically connected, the report says that is not connected and not charging.
Any tips on where I can get cheap new Apple charger (60W MagSafe)? Thanks to you
both.

Macbook Pro 13" Late 2011 slow when charging power
Anyone had this issue?
My Macbook Pro is a 13" late 2011, I5 and when i'm using it connected to the power it is much slower then when i'm using on batteries, even if the battery is fully charged.
I already tried to reset SMC, PRAM etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Ok, here is an interesting one.
The past couple of days I have been having a problem with my Powerbook. It seems the other day we woke up to find the battery dead and the ring light on the charger flashing green. This flashing is also accompanied by a slight clicking sound. I did some reading and testing and figured that my DC-in card is bad.
Here is where it gets interesting. With the power on or computer sleeping, the power light flashing green. The computer shows it is plugged in to AC power but no charging. Profiler also confirms this. Plugged in, not charging. I am now able to get the battery to charge with the computer shut down. I plug the computer in and I get the amber color on the charger ring as the battery lights flash accordingly. Eventually the battery will charge though sometimes I will need to unplug and plug back in because it will start flashing green again and stop charging. What the heck?!
Basically...
The battery will hold a charge.
The charger will charge the battery when the computer is not running.
The computer will not run off of A/C power.
Another note. This happened the morning after running the latest PowerPC update.
Help please.Hi guys.
I am having a similar problems with my Powerbook G4 1,67 Ghz battery. Basically, when I unplug my computer (at 100% charge), I can only manage to use it for 20 minutes at most, and when it reaches a certain charge level - say, 90%, it then goes straight to 10% (instead of 89%) and then quickly shuts off without any warning.
I have tried:
- recalibrating numerous times
- resetting the PMU
- resetting PRAM & NVRAM
- deleting com.apple.powermanagement.plist
and, replacing batteries. But this just happened again with a brand new battery (purchased last week) at 100% battery capacity!!! (And my charger is also brand new, replaced 2 months ago).
Like many of you, *the first time I noticed the charge drop* (and shutting off without warning) *was after my update from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10* (I am still running Tiger on this computer).
And I don't know if this is related or not, but for a long time now, one of my two RAM slots have been dead (not recognized by the computer). I hadn't sent in the computer to be repaired because I use it for work every day and couldn't afford the repair time...
Any thoughts on what I should do? Again, I am dead sure that it's a hardware/software problem causing the sudden charge drop because I purchased a new battery just last week... -
Multi-problem: not recognizable-not charging-in a loop-can't reset/restore
I have three problems going on with my ipod classic 10 gb:
This is what I think happened: battery got low in the middle of restoring it, battery died and software didn't finish downloading, ipod didn't finish restoring. HD prob messed up.
Result:
1. Won't charge and battery low.
2. When I try to charge it, I get the apple followed by the icon of the firewire cable with an arrow (means needs restoring). This keeps repeating itself in an endless loop -- but no charging icon and doesn't seem to be charging.
3. Sometimes, after resetting, I get the folder with the !/exclamation point.
4. When I plug it into my pc, neither my pc nor iTunes recognizes it.
Help! Anyone??If it has 10Gb capacity, then it's not a Classic. There are three models of iPod with 10Gb capacity, all different to each other as far as I can tell and may even have separate forums.
You may have more help with this problem if you post in the correct forum. To check which model of iPod you have, click http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353 .
One thing, as it's quite an old iPod, the battery may have reached then end of its life and require replacing. -

G62X-400 (ld642av) won't charge, power button ribbon cable might be damaged.
Friend's daughter's laptop had an issue with the cable going to the LCD. When opening it I noticed some screws missing from the machine near the back and middle. I took everything apart and realized the display cable had been stressed I assume due to the flex from the missing screws and when pressure was applied to it, the screen would come on. I replaced the cable and all is well, or so I thought.
Problem is the ribbon cable from the power button seemed to be a little funky as well. Wouldn't really go back well into the zif connecter or back flip connector and the little bar on the connector ended up coming off. I thought I got it back on, it powered up but I didn't realize it was apparently no longer taking a charge. Bottom line is the laptop ran until the battery depleted. If the ribbon cable from the power button was damaged, would that prevent powering the laptop and/or charging the battery or is something else wrong?
This question was solved.
View Solution. The answer is yes - when I force the cable in using pressure, it charges the battery and will accept power from the charger. I'll have to get a new power ribbon cable as it appears to have lost some of the metal contacts on the bottom.

Charger / power adaptor gone!
looks like it. From past couple of months it didn't charge the booklet straightaway. I had to carefully align the cable in some perticular way till the power LED brightened up. A slight movement & it used to lose contact. But today it stopped completely. - where could the problem be? it has to be either in the cable from the brick up to the AC-In port or inside the AC port! - Is the AC-In port of some industry standard size to try using cable from some other device? Any known replacements for the cable? or the whole adaptor unit? - I'm searching for the OEM/Nokia branded AC-200 adaptor/charger on Amazon, eBay, but haven't found it yet (not even on UK sites). - Booklet was bought over Amazon in US and will soon shift to India permenantly. There are no Nokia service centres for miles around here, and although there are plenty in India, booklet was not officially launched there so I doubt if I'll get the parts. What remedy do I have? Thanx for reading. Answers welcome! --
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi yogeshmk,
Thanks for your post. If your adaptor is no longer working correctly first check with a Nokia Care Point is they can supply you with an original charger. Otherwise you will need a (universal) adaptor which can handle at least 40 Watt/19 Volt/2A. In the UK you can get a suitable charger from Maplin.
Hope this helps,
