Charged $150 for "FREE Professional Installation"

I just (as in today) signed up for the HD Preferred Plus XF Triple Play online which clearly states FREE Professional Installation. Fifteen minutes ago I got a confirmation email with a cost breakdown that included One-Time Installation Charges of $150. I called immediately and was told I would receive a credit for this amount, but I wanted to post here for posterity because I'll believe it when I see it. If you ordered and saw FREE installation, check your account and make sure you weren't charged. Will update this thread when I see (or don't see) the credit.

Hi joshrotenberg,
John is correct on this. The one-time charge you're referring to is a Deposit. Package you signed up for is coming with a free install.

  • Why does the app store try to charge me for free apps?

I am trying to download free apps and I keep getting sent to my account settings page. Is my phone trying to charge me for free apps?

You most likely do not have a valid form of payment entered in your Apple ID. The valid form of payment is required to download free apps or purchase apps. If the app is free you will not be charged. You can enter a credit card as a valid form of payment. If you don't want to use a credit card or don't have one, you can purchase an iTunes gift card and use that as your valid form of payment.

  • Can I know why iTunes charged me for free apps?

Can I know why iTunes charged me for free apps?

How much is the 'charge' ? You aren't charged for downloading free apps (though some then allow you to make in-app purchases in them).
Did you add or change your credit card details on your iTunes account ? If you did then each time that you do so a small temporary store holding charge ($1 or approximate local equivalent) may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.

  • Why is apple charging me for free apps

has apple bein hacked l8tly bkoz iv ben getting charged for free thngs nw we kant even get nethng without it costing.

How do you mean? What does happen is that Apple puts a $1 hold on  your account for free apps. That $1 is then refunded so the free app is still free.
Another thing, many/most free apps are rife with in app purchases. Is it possible that's what's happening?

So, I've decided to give EE a go as their coverage is far better than my current provider who'm I've been with for many years.I've decided to try things on PAYG first, just to make sure it lives up to my expectations. With my new PAYG card, it advised me to Top up to get 10GB 'on us'....simple top up, then text TEN to 150!And thats it! Nothing happends.I get a reply 'We Couldn't recgnise your Response!' I've used my PAYG phone, Data, and Texts..but still nothing added to my account.I'm constantly seeing a clock counting down the time I've got left to claim this extra 10GB.. Any Ideas?

  • I think I'm being charged for free apps?

Hi...I'm wondering, if there is any such thing as someone being charged to for free apps? I've been looking at my banking statements for  the past few months & it looks like I'm being charged for apps that I downloaded for free. I recently lost my credit card & had to get a new one. When, I changed my credit card information on Itunes, that's when I noticed I was being charged. I often download music on Itunes & upload my magazines to my Ipad, but these aren't only things I'm being charged for. Most of the apps I download are the free ones. It makes me not want to update my apps, because I know I'm charged. Please help me!

I have solved the problem I was showing negative balance in my bank so iTunes needs to verify my account by taking £1.00 every app.

  • How much will Apple charge me for selling magazine for Free in Multi-issue viewer?

Hi Guys, especially to the two Bobs,
I would like to know, here's the situation:
Let's say I have a Multi-issue Viewer, and I sell magazine issue for free, How much does Apple gonna charge me?
Please help and share your advice.
    Thank you.

    To conclude:
Apple's financial aspects are based on two parts:
    1. A yearly payment, NOT for "development" (that's also free) but for access to their store(s). Everyone can register as a developer, download most tools for free, and develop until they drop. But putting stuff up on the store, requires that $99 fee per year. Note: the publisher (responsible for the content) is the one who legally needs to set up an account and pay this fee.
    2. A 30% margin on anything you sell and handle through the Apple store directly or through an in-app purchase, even if it's not physically distributed by Apple. A "free" app or download is still considered a "purchase" but 30% of nothing is still nothing.
Adobe's financial plan is a threefold choice:
    1. For Single Editions, it's a one-time payment by credit card ($395) - no additional contract or download fees.
    2. For Professional Editions, a fee for your platform contract (on a monthly or yearly basis), plus a fee per download, depending on your contract type and chosen bundle (ranging from 12 to 30 cents). You can develop and distribute all kinds of Single and Multi Folio apps, and even produce them under "Agency" conditions, which means you're allowed to handle others their publications.
    3. For Enterprise Editions: call an Adobe representative...

  • Excise and sales tax for Free of charge delivery

    Friends,
Kindly explain somebody whether Duty and taxes are leived during free of charge delivery. If it is levied then what is basis for calculating duty?
    Plesse help on this.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Pratap,
For free goods you have to pay excise duty, that is why i recommend you to follow a new pricing procedure, where the Price Condition type is statistical(to calculate excise) and give payer as self if the excise duty you would  not get from customer,\
    1.Create invoice and excise invoice.
    2. If you don't want to to hit self(given in document header partner) create proforma and excise invoice
revert if you require any clarrification.
    regards.

  • When my 6 year old daughter plays the free games that I have downloaded for her IPAD and IPOD, I am now getting upgrade charges on these free games to my AMEX Card. WHy is this happening and how do I get my AMEX card off of the IPAD and IPOD?

She is making in app purchases. Probably not knowing what that means to your monthly credit card bill. Use the Settings app to enable restrictions and turn on restrictions for iTunes, App Store and in app purchases, mabe some others too. The restrictions will be set with a passcode to prevent your daughter from changing them.

  • I have deleted iPhoto from my MacBook Air. When I try to reinstall it, itunes tries to charge me. Is there a way to reinstall the old version for free?

I have deleted iPhoto from my MacBook Air. When I try to reinstall it, itunes tries to charge me. Is there a way to reinstall the old version for free?

depening on what OS you're running you should be able to reinstall it without charge since it's part of the operating system. if running 10.6.8 or earlier you will need to use the applications install disc if there is one or if you only have one disc you can put it in and do a reinstall of the OS which will put the iphoto back on. if running 10.7 or 10.8 can sign into the app store w/ the same apple id that is associated w/ the mac and it should show in your purchases for you to reinstall it. you may need to click on the accept button if it appears next to the iphoto in your purchase listing.

  • Cost center valorization for free of charge item

During sales order entry I need to have some
    - standard item that have to be invoiced to the customer
    - free of charge items; these items have not to be invoiced and for them I need to value a specific cost center ( for the standard price stored in material master data).
I know there is a customizig setting I can use to manage the relationship between the order reason and the cost center but this value is valid at header level (VBAK-KOSTL) while I don't know how I can set different cost center at item level (VBAP-KOSTL).
    Thank you in advance,
    Alessandro

    Hi,
in NewGL I am sure that its not possible as there is no accounting document created (which contains the PRCTR information as well) if the revenue is zero.
And I am pretty sure that its not possible too in old PCA (Ledger 8A).
CO-PA docs. can be created for free of charge items (otherwise the cost of these items are missing in costing-based CO-PA).

  • HT201364 Hi, If I do not have to pay for free installation, why am I being asked for billing details?

Hi, If I do not have to pay for free installation, why am I being asked for billing details?
    Aaron

iCloud backs up your iOS device (not your Mac) automatically. You can remove the backup:
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm122d3ef202
and it will not back up again. This will not affect a backup made using iTunes. The notice you see refers to calendars, contacts, iWork documents and so on, which live on the server and are read from there by your Mac, and so will obviously disappear if you turn iCloud off altogether (which you don't need to do) or turn off Documents (which you don't need to do either).

  • Use Tax for Free of charge items

    Here is the scenario:
In our Business, there is a process to give a Free item with mostly all the products sold online. In SAP, we will create regular sales order with 1 line item as TAN and other item category as TANN.
The Business wants to calculate Use tax on the 2nd line item where Net value=0. As we use the same Pricing procedure, we cannot charge different taxes based on line item.
The other option was to send the cost details to Vertex, so that they can store it in Vertex and use for Tax calculations. The technical issue is that whenever the Net value=0, Vertex RFC is not called.
We have proposed to create a report in SAP which will tell them the order details with Free items but this is not acceptable to Business.
Has anyone worked on such scenario where Use tax is calculated on the Sales side for Free of charge items.

The basic concept in tax is seller can levy the appropriate tax on the items which they are billing.  This being the case, I am not sure, why for a free of charge item, tax should be levied.  Can you please share in which Business process, this is being followed.  Needless to mention, if at all you want to achieve this requirement, have a separate condition type for this free goods, set as statistical, so that, only tax portion would be posted to FI.
