Charged Screen Won't Go Off

My iPod displays the "Charged" screen anytime it is not in use. When I turn the iPod off, the screen goes dark but the "Charged" screen comes on and stays on until the battery runs out or I turn it on. I experienced this before and took it in to a local Apple store and of course after the guy plugged it in, the problem magically disappeared and he never really understood the problem. That worked until recently when I had to reset the iPod. The problem returned and now my computer doesn't recognize the iPod. I have also tried plugging into a Mac and still it is not recognized. The iPod still plays music and still charges but no computer will recognize it and the "Charged" screen will not go away when turned off.

  • TS2771 my ipod touch is frozen with the apple logo on the screen, won't turn off, have already reset it and it still sits the same...logo on screen.  Can anyone help me out?

My IPOD TOUCH is frozen with the Apple logo sitting there on the screen.  I have already reset the ipod because it was freezing up so I reset it, but now it won't shut off or got o main screen it just sits with the logo on it.  I can't turn it off.  The screen will also flash as though it will turn off then goes back to the logo screen.  Does anyone know what the heck is going on with my IPOD?  It's reall frustrating me...ALOT!!!

    - Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again
    - If still not successful, time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My iPod Touch is frozen on a blue screen & won't turn off

I was opening a game on my iPod and it froze...now the screen is blue and won't turn off no matter how long I hold the power or center button. It also doesn't do anything when I plug it into my Mac....any ideas??

I am having the same problem, Mine screen is blue and wont do anything. How long did it take for your to go dead? Did you plug it in and charge it for it to start working again?

  • White screen, won't shutt off!

I have just dropped my iPod, maybe four feet at most. It played fine for a minute then it went to a white screen and now it won't shut off. What should I do? This is a 80GB video model.

I highly dought that Apple would fix something like this under their warranty. You might want to take it into a local authorized ipod retailer to see if they can do anything for you.
You might also want to at least try this out first. See article:

  • My Iphone 4s will not charge, flash won't turn off. Is it completley broken?

My iphone was completley dead and when I tried to charge it the flash came on and it won't charge or turn on now. I've tried restarting it and at first the Apple logo would pop up but now it is doing nothing but saying the battery needs to be charged, but it won't charge because the flash won't go off! Plus, when I plug it into my mac book itunes doesn't recognize it.

What on earth do you mean by shattered? Can you post a picture?
It's always possible that the connector was damaged but not to the point that chargers wouldn't work. With continued use, the damage got worse until the connector could no longer feed electricity into the phone.
It sounds to me like you need to get your phone replaced but only the folks at an Apple store can say for sure.

  • HP Support Assistant pop-up message frozen on my lower right section of the screen, won't click off

Help! A pop up message from the HP Support Assistant keeps popping up a few minutes after starting up my Pavilion laptop. It won't click off. It asks me if I want to keep Quick Access in my taskbar, but it won't let me pick yes or no or click it off. Help!
If I restart my computer, it goes away, but then comes back.
    What can I do? Thanks

    Hello wwheartww,
If you go into the HP Support Assistant settings you can change how you display notifications on your laptop. Try setting the notifications to task bar only and see if the pop up continues to come up on your screen.

  • TS1702 my apps store screen won't move off Newstand. I am unable to select any options eg; updates

My apps store screen seems to be frozen on Newstand.  I am unable to move from this section.  I an unable to select any other alternatives eg; when I select updates nothing happens. When I select select categories nothing happens.

Try closing the App Store app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the App Store 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Drive information "Show View Options" incorrect, screen won't turn off

    1) Has anyone else had the issue when you turn on the "show view options" to make it so I can see the hard drives total space and available space below the icon, BUT it's not accurate.
I'll be moving large files and it says say "7gb" when I know I have more after emptying my garbage can. I open finder and the total available is like "25gb". If I do an information (apple + I) it also confirms my finder saying I have way more disk space. So I can only make out that the show view options for disk space is incorrect. I believe when I turn this option off and turn it back on in a couple days after a reboot it seems to read the disk space correctly. What is the deal with this?
    2) other question is that I like to have my monitor turn off after 1 min when i'm plugged in to AC. I would say 25% of the time when I'm plugged in it won't do this and I have to reboot for this function to work. If i'm plugged into AC, i want it to go black after 1min of no activity.
for both questions, this is a clean install of tiger to the newest build and I do disk permissions every week. But I still get this problem.
any insight would be fantastic as these are just small problems I can't seem to figure out without a clean reboot.

    bump?

  • Iphone 4 stuck on black screen, won't turn off

After starting up a game today my phone just switched to a dark blue/black screen and it refuses to do literally anything...I have tried to put it in dfu/recovery mode but nothing works. I even held down the power and home button down for like a minute and nothing changed...The screen is completely black but you can see that the phone is still on and it doesn't show anything on the screen not even the apple logo

A lot of times...I've tried it both connected to the pc and not connected but it doesn't matter because nothing seems to work
Very strange issue. I saw the video on youtube as you posted. Wait until the phone is out of battery. May be when the phone will finally turn off when the battery runs out, and then you can turn it back on or reboot it. I'm out of other suggestions. Or else I suggest that you deliver you phone for repair if you still got a warranty. Knock on the wood, I hope you already have a backup from it.

  • Screen won't switch off on Photosmart c309a. Power Saver mode not working?

    Hi everyone.
I'm having a small problem with my new Photosmart c309a all-in-one.  I set it all up yesterday and everything went fine, but the next morning I noticed the screen was on and had been on all night.  I would think it should power down to save energy.  I found the "power saver" mode in the preferences, but it was already on.
Does anyone know if it is supposed to go into standby mode or something?  I don't really like the idea of the screen being on all the time.
I set it up to use wireless connection from both a Mac and Windows Vista machine.
    Thanks!

    2 possibilities:
o Your iPod has a software-based error. Solution: On iTunes, click on the "Restore" button in your iPod's page.
o Your iPod has a physical problem. Solution: Depending on the actual problem, go to an apple store, and they will tell you if they can do anything to it. If they can't, I'm sorry, but your iPod's good for the bin.

  • My screen no longer turns off when idol.

My screen won't turn off after idol period. Set for 2 minutes but stays on unless I turn it of manually. Any suggestion?

Hard reset-hold home and power button until it power cycles. If that doesn't fix it backup and restore. If that doesn't fix it restore as new. If that doesn't fix it take it in to Apple.

  • Screen does not turn off

I've been using Arch on a Samsung N130 netbook for over a year now. Over the last few weeks (perhaps with the 2.6.39 kernel upgrade) I've been having a problem that is really starting to annoy me: my screen won't turn off. At first I thought it was a problem with Powerdevil, or screensaver, or with DPMS, but it is not. Running "xset dpms force off" will turn off the screen for about a second, but then it just turns back on. It doesn't matter if I'm running on battery or AC power. I even turned off X and used setterm to turn off the monitor, and nothing.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    lagagnon wrote:
On many systems "xset" needs the Xorg server process to be quiet for a while or it fails. You can get around that problem with:
sleep 2 && xset dpms force off
Try that and see if it works.
No good. Same result. The screen turns off for about 1 second and then turns back on.

  • Ipod froze on "Charged" screen while playing in Bose speaker ipod charger

My ipod was playing in a Bose speaker ipod charger dealy. i wanted to see what band was playing and it was displaying the charger screen. i took it off and trying holding down the select and menu button to restart it and it didn't work. I tried plugging it into my computer and its still not doing anything and it has the charged screen still on.

We had a similar problem. iPod stopped while plugged into the Bose and then indicated that it needed to be charged, but when plugged into computer, was not recognized. A reset solved the problem. Are there issues with playing with the Bose system?
