Charger always surges outlet before functioning in a foreign country?

I brought my macbook abroad and I know that the power charger works abroad. However, I've had a lot of issues with it surging the outlet at first before it works. After we reswitch the breakers it works fine, but I'd like to avoid this issue whenever possible!
Any ideas?

Since you already have plans to have the MacBook checked out, be sure and take the charger/cables along and have the whole set checked. The techs can make sure there is nothing wrong in the charger.

The reason why i ask this, is because in AS 2, i remembered
that when you used
a listener to a key and you go to another frame ..and go back
to the frame where the listener is
instantiated it listens twice! So when you press the key
once, it will listen two times.
And when using an addEventListener within a function like

If you instantiate a variable inside a function, then the
scope of that variable is only inside this one function. So, trying
to remove the eventListener from outside the function will result
in an error. If you declare the loader variable outside the
function, then you can assign the eventListener in a function.
Likewise, you can remove the eventListener from another function.
If you place all of your functions in the first frame of your
movie's timeline, you won't need to worry about duplicating
function calls.
As an example, paste the following code into a new empty
movie's frame script space. Extend the timeline to about 20 frames.
Play the movie. You'll see that the ouput window shows the number 1
each time the movie loops. The number does not increment. Each time
the movie loops through the first frame, the variable is reset to 0
and then incremented to 1.

Must the client always be up before the master for WAN replication to work?

From our testing, we have noticed that the client must always be up before the master in order for WAN replication to work. Is this the case? If so, is there some kind of flag in Tangosol to allow the master to reconnect to client?

I have not tested the above changes ontouch screens; they do seem to work Ok on desktops.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone 5. I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not powering on. I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.

Try another outlet to make sure that isn't the issue. If it still doesn't work you will need to replace your charger.

My IPhone will only charge on my Laptop. It will not charge by wall outlet. It use to, then it stopped. I have bought new plugs and everything but doesnt work. I have charged my Ipod by the same plugs and they work, so I am puzzled. any ideas?

I don't know which accessories you have, but the 'better' ones are usually made with Apple's cooperation. Stuff from Targus, Kensington, Belkin and the like.
Ive used a belkin and Onn lightning cable with my iPod with no error messages.
You SHOULD be able to keep using the accessories and just ignore the warning. But I say should because that may not be the case with everything.
The issue stems from various incidents involving shoddy third party accessories malfunctioning - sometimes quite spectacularly. But the headlines never read 'cheap knock off cable shorted out' they read 'iphone burst into flames'

I never unplug the external harddrive, and the error message comes up only occassionaly upon startup. Maybe the USB connection gets disrupted enough to cause the computer to see it as disconnected and then reconnected while the iMac is powered.

No! The phone can be used if there is any charge in it at all. It can be charged at any time, regardless of the current state of charge, and for any duration. It cannot be overcharged, it's too smart.

Did you try rebooting the iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
