Charger connection on laptop not working G60-635DX
OK i have The g60-635DX and where you plug the charger into the computer is not working this had happened once before, and they replaced something in the laptop, but now it has happened a again, and i don't think i can send it back or where to send it back to? is there anything i can do? and if i were to send it for repairs where would i send it?
I have the same problem and it's obvious the adapter is defective. Unfortunately my warranty ran out and they won't replace the defective product but would gladly sell you another warranty. I don't mind paying but my point is the product is defective and regardless of the warranty they should show some loyalty to the customer who supported them but I guess that is no longer mantra of business. This is my second hp laptop and the first one had the same adapter problem were it would just stop working so it's obvious that their adapter is poorly made. Funny thing is they said that they have no complaints about their adapter if only they would take they time to visit this forum they would find out of people complaining. I have been a loyal customer of HP despite my first laptop being problematic I still supported them but unfortunately they don't feel the same way only thing they care is the bottom line making you buy warranties for product that don't even last. All I ask is to replace the defective product but they would rather send my business some place else which I would gladly do.

Beam Internet/Laptop Connect Air Card not working properly
We recently upgraded to the ATT Beam aircard as we lost our previous version on vacation. We live in a rural area and using the Laptop USB Connect Card (Beam) is the only access to the internet. When we first activiated it we were able to connect to the internest the first couple of days (Windows 7). Now, the digital read out on the Beam shows "Ready to Connect" but when opening the All Access icon to connect, we either get a "no modem/device detected" or it will say its connected on All Access but the Beam show Ready to Connect and we have no access. I've run the diagnositic too, I've deleted All Acess and reinstalled, I've unplugged and plugged the Beam back in, nothing works, I have not been able to connect to the interet with it at all. I am currently teathering off my cell phone. I'm locked into a 2 year on this Beam since I upgraded and so far its not working. Thoughts?

I've had my 8 gb iPod Touch 4g since November 12th, 2010. I bought it from Target (so its not covered under warranty anymore) love it and use it for many hours every day, but there is a problem with the USB charging cables.
When I got my iPod, it came with the standard Apple charging cable. That cable worked for a few months (maybe... 3?) and all of a sudden stopped working. When I used my friends cord, it worked perfectly fine. She had the same exact model and cord as I did. I ended up just buying a replacement cord, thinking that this was just a fluke or whatever. No such deal. I purchased a third party cord from amazon, and it worked for a few months again. (Let me note that I also got a car and wall charger with it, those work perfectly fine to this day.) Once again, all of a sudden it broke. And again, I tried a friend's cord and it worked fine.
I ended up buying a third and fourth cords, which was also third party, and after that broke, I was fed up and went to the Genius Bar for an appointment. I explained my problem, and they made an appointment with me. Eventually, they just said to buy another cord, this time Apple brand. I did, and it has been working fine up until tonight, when it just stopped charging.
When I say that the cords broke, I mean that all of a sudden they would stop charging my iPod, no matter where I plugged it in. (computer, wall, car, etc.) It would/will only charge if I bent it a very certain way, and then I would need to hold it there, which I obviously can't do for hours. (;
I would take this apple cord back now, since I believe there is a warranty (although, I need to double check that when I can get to the papers.) if it weren't for the fact that, from use, the coating/white plastic of the actual cord has split and you can see a few of the wires. I will have to double-check if this is covered, though because of the outside appearance, I doubt that they would take it back. This has not happened with any of the other cords, however.
What should I do? Would restoring help this problem? I have been contemplating the idea for a while, but having to re-download/etc all of my apps, music, etc., is not the most appealing idea to me.. I have reset a few things a while back, though I cannot remember what they are, sadly.
Currently, my iPod is running iOS 5, as I just updated it about a month or so ago. Before that, it was running what the iPod touch 4g originally came with... I believe it was 4.2.1?
I really love my iPod, but am fed up with having to buy cords every few months, as I have gone through four or five in just a year.I think stevejobsfan has misunderstood your problem.
You specifically state that in one case you can see the inner cord and wires of the lead. So, either - you are mis-handling the cord or a pet is chewing it. So, if you don't have a pet - it's you.
When you remove the cord from the iPod (or from the other end of it) you should handle by the plug, not the cord itself. If you pull the cord you are straining the connection between the cord and the plug and that will eventually cause that connection to break.
If this had happened to just one cord, maybe it's the cord. If it happened to several of the same make from the same source, perhaps it may have been a faulty batch. But for it to happen five times, with cords from different sources and different manufacturers - everything points to the cord being handled too roughly.
Buy another cord - but in future, remove it by gripping the plug and not by pulling on the cord. This applies to any cord or lead, including mains powered devices. If you have any other cords for any other product, I suggest you check them for damage because damaged cords can be a fire risk and create a risk of electric shock. Mains voltage can kill.
Another thought; if you wrap cords - including headphone leads - around anything (such as the charger itself), wrap it loosely. A tight wrap also strains the cord to plug connection.

My MagSafe Charger / Power Supply is not working
I am using mid 2009 13" MacBook Pro with 85W MagSafe . My operating system is Lion 10.7.4.
I heard a "click" coming from the direction of where my charger and just before and now its not working.
The light is not coming on the charger itself
No power is shown be coming into the computer on the Desktop toolbar either, nor does my computer that there's a charger plugged in.
I have tried the charger in a number of the different sockets around the apartment and still no joy
The transformer "block" is cold
Could this be a s simple as a blown fuse in the plug or something else altogether?
I need to fix this asap. No power = no computer. All help much appreciated.I've copy and paste info from under AC. The MagSafe charger is physically connected, the report says that is not connected and not charging.
Any tips on where I can get cheap new Apple charger (60W MagSafe)? Thanks to you
both.

Charging Cable ~ Should This Not Work?
Like many other I have found that my car charging cable does not work with my iPhone 3G, but I thought I had a solution, which as it turns out did not work ~ but why?
Previously when charging my other ipods in the car, I used a simple device which consisted of an adapter that went into the Cigar Lighter socket (Sorry Power Socket) which at the other end allowed a USB charging cable +(the same as the one used to charge via the computer USB port)+ to plug into it and the other into the iPod and then charge.
This worked just great. So if the cable which came with the iPhone 3G (I know its the same as all other such cables, but I was playing safe) works fine when connected to the computer and iPhone 3G Dock, +why when that cable is connected to my iPhone 3G and plugged into the cars power socket, does it not charge,+ bearing in mind that this new set-up will charge the ipods just as it did with the other older USB cable?
Can anyone enlighten me please or has anyone found a solution?The adapter you have for you car's power outlet is attempting to charge the iPhone via the firewire pins in the dock port on the phone. In the iPhone 3G charging via the firewire pins has been eliminated, it now only works via the USB pins. Most car adapters will use firewire because it can carry 12V which is what the car is already supplying so no step down is needed because USB only does 5V.

Had to reset router, wired connection fine wireless not working even w/out security
hi, after that freakin blackout that made my internet stop workin, i did a complete reset to my router, and reconfigured it all over again, now i can connect to the internet if im wired to it but if im wireless i cant (tried with other laptops, xbox and it wouldnt work) i even left the wireless without security but its the same, when i click on connect to my network, it hangs forever "connecting" and in the end it remains unconnected... BTW i have a button in wireless settings "Status SES Inactive" which in the first firmware version it wasnt there, and i dont know what its for and if i should use it (what is "SES"? its not in the help manual)
hi..
hmmm.....i hope i cn help u im not so sure if it will work but then try to do so....
access the set-up page...try 192.168.1.1 or if it will not prompt for a username and a password just in case that u r n a dsl connection use this 192.168.2.1...launch internet explorer and type 192.168.2.1 on the address bar u shud be promted with a username and password
leave the usrname blank and passwrd is "admin" if ever admin password will not work try to type in any password tht u can possibly use and after that u must be able to access the router's set-up page....
on the router's set-up page
click on wireless tab
change the ssid or network name to ur preferred network name like ur name or ur lastname...
after that click save settings and it will tell u if saving the settings is succesful.....
after that click again on wireless tab and click the wireless security tab
and then change the security mode to WPA personal or if ever u can't see the WPA personal click on WPA pre-shared key and type on the wpa pre-shared key box the network key for ur router it is like a password for ur network.....type in at least 8 characters....
and click save settings.....
and then close that window and try on ur wireless computer to view avaliable network and then refresh network list and look for ur network name and hit connect there the comp will ask for a network key type in there ur network key....
take care...
i'm not sure if it cn help u but just try to do so... -
Billing information verification problem, it is charging my account but not working
I just got an IPhone 4s. Attempting to download the app facebook I was forced to verify my payment information. I entered my information, correctly I may add, and it said it did not match my bank's records. So I called my bank, and called Apple and neither could explain why it was not working. I have verified the information countless times. When I spoke to an Advisor on the phone they said they had previously had a personal problem where Road instead of RD caused an issue. I verified every piece of information and it is all correct. If it was not correct, I would not have twenty $1 verification charges on my bank account.
The information is 100% correct in both places, yet the only response I have gotten (via the ridiculous email support) is that I need to make sure my information is correct. It is. If it was not I would not have twenty $1 charges on my account. Here is a screenshot just to prove how many charges there are. 2Is that a joke? I have done that multiple times. Like I said my information is all correct. If it was not correct I would not have twenty $1 charges on my account. Is it that hard to make the connection, because I got the same useless response from the itunes support via email.
One more time. Nice and simple so everyone can understand.
1. The information I enter is correct.
2. It is charging my account.
Now this is where it gets complicated. I know its tough, but stick with me.
3. If the information was not correct, it would not charge my account.
Wow. Look at that. Logic. Its a miraculous thing. -
USB charging in PC is not working
Please I need help.. I charged my xperia z1 in my car using a generic car charger and a USB cable. Unfortunately, the charger suddenly short circuited. Then when I tried to connect my phone again in PC, the charging led indicator & icon is not working anymore. Although my phone is still charging over a wall outlet. What could be the possible problem & solution for this? My xperia is just 3 months old, and I'm so frustrated for what happened...
Hi mh4bz
i believe since short circuit happened, there might be issue with the cable, since you can able to charge phone using Wall charger that's great, it shows that your phone is working fine, so if you able to find different USB cable from friends borrow for a while and check whether it charges or not, if it is charging with your friends USB, then you better buy a cable from shop

OLE DB Connection Build does not work
Hello All!
I am in the process of creating an ASP.NET application that
will initially have an Access database for test purposes on my
laptop computer. Eventually the database will be MS SQL. When I
select OLE DB Connection -> Build it does not work. I have
already tried the "fix" in
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19515
and it did not work.
I have also tried MS Access 2000 template and it does not
work. At this point there is no User ID or Password to this
database. Here is what is in the web.config file:
<configuration>
<appSettings>
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_HANDLER_ctv"
value="default_oledb.htm" />
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_STRING_ctv"
value="Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data
ource=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CTV1_1\database\ctv.mdb;User
ID=;Password=;" />
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_DATABASETYPE_ctv" value="OleDb"
/>
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_SCHEMA_ctv" value="" />
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_CATALOG_ctv" value="" />
</appSettings>
</configuration>
I have installed IIS on the laptop along with .NET framework
2.0 - maybe there is an install issue?
I am using DreamWeaver MX 2004 with MS XP SP2 if that gives
any further clues.
Thanks for any help you can give!
