Charger finds it difficult to charge??

Hello there - I have a MBP 15" which I bought in April 2006. Generally, it's been great for me until I noticed that the battery charging cable/plug/thing-with-a-magnet-at-the-end became increasingly difficult to charge.
Obviously, a red light will show when it starts charging, and then turn green when the charging is complete. For a few weeks, it's been really difficult for me to get the red light to show up - usually, I have to turn and twist and reposition the MBP and the cable until it finally starts to charge.
I just have this nasty feeling that it's going to deterioriate more and more until it reaches a point where I cannot charge it at all.
Is there any solution to this? Or do I have to get it replaced?
If I do have to have it replaced, it's going to be an additional headache...this MBP is my first Apple - so I don't know if it's just me, but it seems almost impossible to find an address where I can send Apple a straightforward e-mail asking about the problem and asking for a repair/replacement under warranty or whatever. Maybe it's just a misunderstanding on my part, but I think I'm fairly unimpressed. I mean, even Hotmail is easier to e-mail directly to!

You can either take it back to a Apple store for an exchange or call 1.800.275.2273 and tell them what has happened. They will ship you a new one. It sounds like the wire may be broken but the person on the phone will ask if you have checked for dirt, looked at the pins to see if they are bent, etc. It is under warranty so you have no problems unless they determine the problem is caused by abusive use which I assume you have not done.
