Charger of the Zen Micro from the States usable in Euro

Does anyone know if a Zen Micro from the States(0V) can be charged in Europe(220V) without problems? Or a player from the states in europe? Do I need an adapter?

yeah it works fine, u dont need any transofmrer or anything, u just need a small adapter that changes the form of the slots (two round thingies and not rectangles)

  • Can you charge a drained Zen Micro using the USB of the compu

This what happend.. my Zen Micro got drained.. so i decided to charge via USB of my computer.. but it wasnt charging? what may be the problem?

yep.. thats my current version of firmware.. yeah, the first time i charged with a USB.. it didnt charge because i forgot to slide it to lock mode... when i tried sliding it to lock mode, it was charging.. but this happened when i charged the battery was not yet drained..
So, the other day i forgot to charge it, i just noticed it was drained already.. so i decided to charge it via USB of my pc.. i slide it to lock mode, but nothing happened.. it wasnt charging... thats why i had this question that if your player is drained already, you cannot charge it via USB.. it should be via the power outlet... can this be true?

  • Charging and playing Zen Micro at the same t

Can I listen to my Zen Micro while I am charging my battery? Are there any pros and cons if I do this?

    Clay30,
You can, but you will find that is takes longer to charge that way. I suggest avoiding this on the first 3 charges but past there it should be completely safe to do this.

  • Charging zen micro from mac powerbo

I know that Creative doesn't support Macs, but can I charge my Zen Micro via the USB port on my Powerbook? Even if I can't load music, etc, will it transfer a charge?
Alternately, will my charger work with an outlet in europe if i attach an adapter to it--and i mean just an adapter for the prongs not a voltage adapter?
    thanks,
    ed

Firmware 2.22 should be able to just charge as well as ..
So here's what you do to just charge via USB:
) Turn your Zen Micro off.
    2) Switch the power switch to the hold position.
    3) Plug the Micro to the powerbook's USB.
Then the Micro's display should say that it is charging.
Note: There's no software option to let the Micro only charge via USB; the only way is the way I described above (if not, please correct me).

  • My Zen Micro from 2004 di

It froze on me, as it often did when I had no battery left, so I took the battery out while it was still on. Usually I'll just put it back in and charge it and it will rebuild the library. When I did that, it was starting to rebuild and then the little line stopped and then it said Firmware Problem. Is there any way I can fix my Zen? I love it so much and it would be so annoying to put my music on a new mp3 player!

laur - the exact thing just happened to my 2004 zen micro a few days ago. the line stops too..
i guess they were only built to last to 2007? that's what im starting to think anyway.
E0Delta[color="#000000"] - where is this firmware software was it on the installation cd.. what is firmware?
    thanks.

  • Where to Buy Zen Micro and get all the goodi

Hi everyone. I have a MuVoN200 and I love it to death, but I am ready to move on to something bigger. I have had no problems with Creative and I would like to get a Zen Micro.
I've been reading on the internet how some people get different things in their box! Some have a belt clip/stand thing and some don't. I would, of course, like to get the most acessories for my money, so where should I buy mine to get all of the acessories?
I'm considering Target since I have a Target card . . . but Walmart is having a sale on them right now. I saw them in Best Buy, but the box was pretty small, not the tall one. Any input would be appreciated!!

I just received my Zen Micro from bhphotovideo.com for $70 with all the extras (charger, stand):
    http://tinyurl.com/8qcro
However, it came in a box (rumored to be old, prone to headphone jack problem), not plastic packaging. And the firmware installed was only .0.03. This also makes me feel it might not be the newest model with the rumored fix for the headphone jack problem, even though it's from a high-volume reseller. For me, I'll just pay $40 for the extra warranty to balance my risk. Maybe ask Creative where you can buy a newer, headphone-jack-secure Micro with all the trimmings?

  • Charge my Zen Micro in Mexico(110V)/ Malaysia (24

Hi, I got a RAZR charger for my Zen Micro. The plug is European(Germany, France, etc), so made for 220V. Will it be sufficient to put an adapter on the plug for charging it in Mexico with 0V? How about Malaysia? It's the British plug with 240V? Any experiences?

I think you have found the problem. However, we do not seem to be having any joy in using the method you suggested for finding out what version we have, as we can only do this when it is plugged into the computer and it seems to be perminently in "Recovery Mode". We have tried rebooting, but it makes no difference. I guess this is also because the software is not loaded on to the computer.
On the Recovery Mode screen it says thaet the version is v0.0.65 which does not seem to follow the sort of numbers you were quoting.
I don't think we are going to solve this without loading the software on to the computer and I don't think the hotel would appreciate that!!!
Is there a mains charger the we can purchase?

I upgraded my Zen Micro from .x to 2.x but now need to go backwards so I can use the Zen with a

The Zen IS recognized by windows. XP Device Manager shows it under "Portable Devices" and brings up

I have read all the FAQs and posts on the subject (including http://forums.creative.com/showthrea...t=34337#M92998) but have not found any way of reloading ..0.
Can a moderator or admin please confirm if there is ANY way out of this situation? Thanks in advance.

  • Zen Micro freezing on connect

    Hi
I just bought my Zen Micro today and had no problems with it at first. I charged it until it was fully charged and then plugged it into my computer. It was detected by the computer and everything seemed to be working well. I ran Media Explorer and imported some music into my Zen Micro. I disconnected my Zen Micro from the computer and tried out the music. Everything was fine.
So I decided to plug it back into my computer and import some more music. The Zen Micro was again detected. I run Media Explorer again but this time it indicates that the player isn't plugged in properly. At this time my Zen Micro had froze. So I took out the battery and tried it again. I plugged it into my computer and ran Media Explorer and I got the same result.
So I tried the Clean Disk method and rebooted. It still wouldn't work. I tried to download the firmware update but when I connected my Zen Micro to the computer and tried updating, the firmware program would indicate that my Zen Micro could not be detected even though Windows detected it. My Zen would also freeze up.
So this time I tried formatting it from the same menu with the Clean Disk option. It still didn't work. So I tried using the different USB ports on my computer and it still didnt work. So I went over to my brother's computer and sadly I got the same result. So I tried downloading the updated version of the Media Explorer. Even then I still got the same result.
Can someone please help me~? I really don't want to have to return this lovely player because I got the last Limited Edition box at the store I bought it at. ThanksMessage Edited by hakuto on 0-03-2005 06:38 AM

Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem? I too have ran into a brick wall where the Zen Micro will crash whenever connected to a PC (or mac at that), but will not crash when connected to the AC adaptor. This happens after multiple disk cleanups, formats, and even a firmware reload, although the problem still remains and now I cannot even load a firmware to the player. I also tried using another USB to Mini USB cable I have lying around, only to the same results.
Please help ASAP so I can finish this review...
    Best regards,
    -R. Scott Clark

  • Zen Micro 1.11.01 firmware prob

I updated the firmware on my Zen Micro from .02 to ..0 the other day, and since the upgrade, I have actually been getting MORE battery drain when the player is not in use. And when I say more battery drain, I mean it is full one day, then less than 2 days later, the batter is so dead that the player won't turn on. In fact, my player was plugged in to my computer last night to charge, and the battery actually drained down to about a bar from full charge overnight. My player isn't that old.... less than 6 months, it isn't subjected to any harsh conditions (it usually just sits in my dorm room), and I always charge through my computer, so it isn't the problem with the wall charger.
    PLEASE HELP!

Yes it will delete all of your music on your player. It's basically formatting your player, but it deletes the FW on your player, and this is why you are going to have to connect it to your computer right after you select that option.

  • Zen Micro Power Adapter Missi

I just bought my Zen Micro from Circuit City, and really dig it so far. One thing I noticed is that Circuit City's website says the AC power adapter and a belt clip/stand are included as part of the package. When I got the box home, they weren't included. I called Circuit City who said their website was wrong; they, however, will reduce my price by $30 to compensate. Good, I thought. So then I tried ordering the power adapter directly from Creative, but it says they're on backorder. What gives? Anyone know? Thanks.

It's best that you get an AC adapter, especially if you are not on the computer for long periods of time. Without the AC adapter, the charging may take up to 0 hours, depending on your computer. I have tried it and found that it only took 3 to 4 hours, but this reading is taken from a desktop PC.
Most Zen Micros do not come with AC adapters and belt cli
    ps.
This is especially so for the 4GB and 6GB ones. I advice you to get one as soon as possible, they are really convinient.

the player does work with WMP0.
You can choose to install the bundled drivers, and use either the bundled media software (mediasource) or WMP 0. That's the way of working with firmware line .x.
Another option, requiring firmware line 2.x, is to strictly use Win XP + WMP0. Under firmware 2.x, the device becomes a "PlaysForSure" "MTP" device. That means that you don't have to install extra drivers, and that WinXP + WMP0 is your mode of operation.
Also for storing DATA, there are 2 options: either put data in a data folder on the player (which requires the driver or firmware 2). Or you create a "removable disc" area. That is a standard protocol, which makes the "removable disc" appear as a dri've letter on most operating systems. This is more standard (no drivers at all needed), but this "removable disc" is NOT for songs. You can't play songs that are stored in this area, on the disc.
hope that's clear :-) on 2nd thought, it's a bit complicated with the various options...

  • Ideas why my Zen Micro slowly stops playing each ti

Hi,? once fully charged?my Zen Micro now operates for approx. 0minutes only. It's operation time has been decreasing slowly over the last 6mths from 30min to?the now 0min. If I touch any buttons, except volume,?while it's playing during those 0minutes (eg, FF, reverse, anything..) it freezes and then shuts down once the battery drains.
I purchased it new and this started happening after approx. year of use - so I think it's too soon to be a battery problem. All ideas, suggestion are welcome. thanks very much! Tara

It could be the battery going.
All LiON batteries start to deteriorate as soon as they leave the factory.
If the battery was in stock for a long time before going into your .mp3 player, it may have already lost some of its life.
The way you use it has a big effect on lifespan too. If you run it flat every time before recharging, it won't last as long as when you keep it 'topped up' most of the time with only occasionally letting it run down.
The original battery in my 2 year old Zen Micro is good for about 4 hours now and it's near the end of its life. Good thing I have a spare that is good for 0 hours!

  • Zen Micro - Hooking up to my compu

I was on vacation and I forgot my charger for my Zen Micro. Seeing as how I had a 4 hour-dri've two days after my visit, I wanted to be able to listen to music. After a few looks, I noticed that a PDA USB Cable was available, and it seemed to work as a charging source when I plugged in my Zen Micro. However I went to turn it off one night, when I remembered I should charge it, so I pluggedit in to the computer and of sourse it turned itself back on, and I turned it off again. I came back to see that my Zen had actually crashed, and was "frozen" while charging. When I got home, my Zen plugged in fine in my AC Plug, but now it crashes every time I try to plug it in to my computer and import new songs. Please help me.

Have you tried a disk cleanup? To access the Rescue Mode hold down the play button and KEEP it held down, press the tiny reset switch once, and KEEP the play button held down until the player boots into the Rescue Mode. Choose Disk Cleanup from the menu. Note: Disk cleanup should not remove your tracks. It searches through the disk for files and rebuilds the index, and can be useful for correcting any strange behaviour.
