Charger stopped working then worked again?

Very weird story. Just today I was on my MacBook Pro (13'' unibody if it helps) and the battery was low. Naturally I plugged in the charger (or so I thought). I didn't notice at the time that it wasn't actually charging until a few minutes later my computer shut off (I'm assuming it ran out of batteries since seconds before I noticed there was 1% left). I then noticed that the charger wasn't even plugged in to the computer. However, when I did plug it in, the small LED light didn't come on and I still couldn't turn on the computer. Everything was now plugged in properly. I assumed the charger was broken and while checking the prices of new chargers on my phone the LED came on. I unplugged the charger from the computer and plugged it back in as a sort of test. There was a few second delay (a little more then usual) and the LED came on. I turned on my computer and it started up as if I had shut it down. It seemed fine after that. I'm currently on it while it's charging so I'll update if any new information becomes available about the situation.
So is this weird? Is there a problem? If so is it the computer or the charger?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Matthew,
Lithium Ion batteries can behave strangely if they get completely drained. For now, I would just keep an eye on the charger and battery health to see if they operate normally. If so, I would't worry about it. You can do an SMC Reset if you feel the need:

LUKS passphrase stopped working, then started again?

I turned my computer off a day ago and everything was fine. My computer is full disk encrypted with the boot partition on a separate usb drive. Today, when I went to turn it on and enter the passphrase, it fails and tells me that no passphrase found. I am completely sure that I am entering the correct password because I've been using this password for months and I almost always enter it correctly the first time. I retried literally almost twenty times because I couldn't believe this was happening to me. Feeling frustrated, I turned the computer off and gave up. I decided to try one more time just for good measure, and strangely, the passphrase worked the first time. This is good news I suppose, but it worries me for obvious reasons. What is to stop this from happening again? What made it happen in the first place? I just want to know why that happened so I can find out if there's anything I can do to prevent it in the future. Needless to say, I'm backing my data up now. Thanks for reading.

I've read numerous cases where users failed to unlock with the correct passphrase, because another configuration e.g. of the keymap or encoding changed, but this is not your case I know. I write this on a laptop (TP) where the bios _sometimes_ fails to recognize the trackstick (not a hw problem). Maybe your bios has an issue like such with the keyboard.
To prepare: what you should do too is to use "cryptsetup luksHeaderBackup" to be prepared in case a disk sector in the header dies.

My iPod touch crashes. There is no rhyme or reason as to when the crash occurs. It will not reboot until reconnected to a power source. Once connected to a power source, it reboots and works well. When disconnected it will work then crash again.

My Ipod Touch 4th generation (8gb, iOS 5.1) crashes for no apparent reason. There is no rhyme or reason to when the crash occurs.
Once it crashes, the only way to reboot the iPod is to connect it to an external power source (computer or AC outlet). Once connected, it will reboot and operate normally.
When disconnected from the power source, it will operate for a variable periods of time (maybe minutes, maybe hours) then crash again. It can't be rebooted until again attached to an external power source.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Thanks for your help.....

I hate to let you down. I live a long way from any Apple store, so I returned the iPod to the seller. I really don't know if I'll buy another.
I know it's probably an isolated incident, but this kind of experience leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

4050n and 4050tn partially stop working, then start again, then stop again

Hello - I have 2 printers , both hooked into a network via manual ip. Today, Monday we come in and they both stopped working. No network changes were made. Tried assigning a different ip with no luck. It looks like its printing as jobs cleared the que, but no activity on printer. I then tried hooking it up directly with parallel port and printed a test page, worked fine, for a while then stopped again. Same thing with second machine in another dept. Some weird network connectivity issue? We have other printers and larger fiery copiers on the network that worked fine as usual. Any help please?

Keyboard not working, then working, then not working again...

I am trying to post this quickly because my keyboard will probably stop working soon... My keyboard keeps provoking no response whatsoever. When this happens all my keys, including the volume controls etc. just stop working. Then, soon after, they start working again... I will try to take it to a service center soon, but as it is new years day I can't, so I was wondering if anyone knew the reason for this problem.

Same issue with a wired aluminum keyboard. Using it with a 20" Intel iMac. I've also plugged it into a G5 20" iMac with no success. Worked for a few minutes but now not at all.

WORKAROUND FOUND ! Download and install "Awesome Camera" app and take a picture with that app. After 1-2 seconds of standby, it will work. Then you can go back to default Camera app which would work again.Please let me know

Trying to restore iphone 3gs after it froze. Keep getting error code 9 to do with usb drop off. I restored it last night and it was working then froze again this morning and now error 9 all the way! Help!

have tried downloading most up to date version of i tunes, restarting computer, different usb lead, different usb port, checked / disabled security measures... nothing seems to work and it just keeps saying waiting on iphone when it is trying to restore but the loading bar appears empty on the iphone screen then nothing happens, phone goes blank and error message pops up!

the answer is YES. I figured it out. I found it easier if I defined ALL the motions upfront.

Remote functions stick and do not work, then work and TV goes crazy doing catch up.

We have put new batteries in remote. Reset box. Or is this normal.....drives us crazy - send help.

This sounds like you may have signal issues. If you can't eliminate any excess splitters, you may need to have a tech out. Also make sure all connections are tight.

Select the Time Zone tab in the preference pane that opens and check that the time zone matches your location. Then select the Date & Time tab. Check that the data and time shown (including the year) are correct, and correct them if not.
Check the box marked
Set date and time automatically
if it's not already checked, and select one of the Apple time servers from the menu next to it.

Particularly:

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

IPhone 5 charger stopped working. Can I get a new one for free?

I bought an iphone 5 charger from best buy about a month ago. It just randomly stopped working. I was wondering if I took it to the apple store, would they replace it? Or would I have to buy a new one.

I would first try the steps in the following article before seeking service. If it comes down to that, there is also a link to contact us:
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.

Charger Overheating, and then not working!!

Alright, here is a summary of the issue (if you would like more details please read the rest): A few hours ago the charger totally stopped working. After numerous attempts to find out whats wrong, I decided to let the charger cool and plug it back in the electrical plug. When I plugged it back in, it started overheating like crazy (I really mean crazy---within 10mins) and within a few mins after the charger totally stopped working again.
Below are more detais:
Since February, the charger has been mostly plugged in to a surge protector. When the laptop is fully charged, I would disconnect the charger from the laptop (but the charger would still be plugged in to the electrical source). I would only charge it when the battery life is 20% or below.
Today (just a few hours ago actually), the charger randomly stopped working. I disconnected it from the laptop and reconnected it a few times, and it wouldn't work at all. Then I removed the charger from the electrical plug and plugged it in the plug. It worked, and I thought it was a small problem. BUT, within 2 minutes, the charger stopped working once again. I did the same thing---unplugging the charger from the electrical source and plugging it back in, and it worked (but only this time it stopped working much earlier than the first time). Also, just a note, when I touched the charger, it was really hot and there was some sort of smell (not like fumes, but close). I haven't touched the charger for a month at least so it might have been this hot for a while now. And after continuously removing the charger and plugging it back in the electrical plug, I started hearing a small noise coming out from the charger.
I am seriously ******, I just bought this laptop 10 months ago and I'm worried that its a problem with the laptop.

Well the constant overheating most likely caused permanent damage then. As it already sparked and smoked it took serious damage while it is not if that was due to prior damage or working on the plug. You should rma it. None the less using it under load while you saw it overheating might theoretically voided your warranty.

Premiere Pro CC slows down, then stops working, then won't work, then it won't quit. So I have to force quit every time.
It does not matter if I am working with HD or 4K - same thing happens.
This began happening about a week ago. Nothing really new has changed. I tried to repair permissions and check this from a new admin account because I know that is what Adobe thinks the answer to every problem is. But it did not change anything.

CC 2014

Used this tip from Adobe and it worked, all running quick and smooth again.
