I recently started to use an IPad and added Skype to it
I have a subscription for Canada and US but am being charged on my cell phone and I don,t even know how the cell number got connected to Skype. please help

Well, now that is a different matter
If you can purchase a prepaid sim for a local carrier, which is the common way to function in Europe, that would give you the freedom to keep the phone function on. It is annoying when I go to Europe to have to keep my iPhone from roaming while all my friends from all over Europe just pop in a local sim for something like 10 Euros and they are off and running.
You can just turn off the data plan functions since you will have a local calling "card" to use.

Streaming will be faster from the new iMac. However it is still a good idea to keep the bulk of your material, 400 GB is a lot of content, on external drives. That serves to protect the material if an internal drive fails, and also keeps the internal drive from getting too loaded down. You can increase speed by simply moving content you want to use in the short term to the iMac SSD where it will be at its fastest speed, and then take it off when no longer needed there.
That gives the speed and security for your material.

I have a similar question, I used the Skype to Go number from my O2 mobile and the network charged me for each of the calls even though I have unlimited landline package. They said they don't consider the access number as a landline, can you please advise on this.

Charges for calling Skype number from cell phone

Just purchased a skype phone number. Chose a local area code so family can call me while Iam in Italy. Will there be an additional charge on their cell phone when they call me. They have unlimited calls and text on there monthly cell plan. Will I have to pay skype if I answer call to my skype number on my cell phone? If I purchase a premium subscription will I be able to call home from Italy on my cell phone? And how much will that cost per minute- or will the monthly premium price give me unlimited calling and text from my cell?

HT4060 Bought a new ipad and now its down to 28% so I am trying to charge it by the plug in but instead of going up its going down in %

Trying to figure out how to charge my new ipad wi-fi cellar. I plugged it in but instead of going up in % is still going down and its now showing me that its charging like a cell phone does. When I started to charge it, it was 28% now its 27%. Its plugged into a wall.

Impossible to launch the app calendar and since 10:00AM, no WiFi connection because my macbook re-knows no more network!
The display was uncertain yesterday evening, I thought that it was the Word document which have a bug, but this morning is the even worse more recognition of no WiFi network, all at once.
I launched a scan with avast, but it doesn't find any virus, and nevertheless...
For a week I could not launch any more the app calendar without it fall down at the beginning by posting " upgrade of calendars " and then crash in rule.
Since I am on Mac it's good the 1st time when I am annoyed, but there it is decent, I cannot work any more.
Somebody sees where from it can come?
I updated with Mavericks 10.9.0 and it is more or less since that there is a problem, coincidence or not?

Zen 8g & a Motorolla cellphone charg

Hello hello... I'm curious about something!? I've got a Zen 8g, just purchased about 2 weeks ago....and I'm looking around my desk and happen onto my PC-phone USB cord I use to x-fer files and data to-and-from my motorolla cell phone. (Razr v3). The USB cord for my ZEN is so dang short, I though "wow, my cell cord is just the right length...i wonder if it'll work!".....and what do ya know?!? It did. Luckily the usb cord for my cell is the same pin configuration and whatnot ("B") as the ZEN's. That got me to thinking...."I wonder if my wall charger for my cell would work with my ZEN, if they both use the same data cable".
So I looked at the Creative brand chargers, and a few other brands....they all say "5v DC up to 2.4A". The Motorola charger is 5v DC, but only 550mA. I know that means it wont charge as fast on the Motorola charger as it would on the Creative charger....but my question from all this is more.... "Will the Motorola charger even work with my ZEN without frying anything". (as I am unaware of the tech specs between each charger, in the event the pin config is different). In any case, if it turns out to work, that'd be awesome!? That would also mean I could use my cell's car adapter as well.
If I try it and it works with no slightly appearant downsides, I'll make a reply to my post and say so, along with any more specs I may stumble upon. i can't see spending $30.00 for any kind of wall adapter that was originally designed for use in any Asian / Euro style outlet....too many parts, and too many adapters to be carrying around....especially if you already own one that works. Here's to experimentation....and lying to the customer service rep of the store when I break it!?

should work. People have been able to use their psp chargers to charge their m visions so that should
not damage your player.

Problem with igo charger on new 80 GB Classic

Just recently purchased a new 80 GB classic (upgraded from an old 20 GB clickwheel model). I had been successfully using an igo charger with tip #61 on the old 20 GB, but with the new 80 GB when I plug the igo charger w/Tip 61 into it, it briefly 'turns on' with the display, but does not indicate it is charging. I called igo and they said I needed a REV 4 #61 tip, sent that to me but it still has the same problem.. Apple has said they did change the charging circuit to the new 80 GB. My apple charger works fine, and my old desktop speaker unit also continues to charge. Only the igo does not work (I have multiple wall chargers/car chargers from igo and none of these will work with the new 80 GB classic). I travel a lot and love just bringing one small charger and multiple tips to charge the ipod/cell phone & PDA.
Anybody having the same issue and gotten around it?

What you're seeing is a problem with the Classics -- the scrolling is much less responsive than prior generations of iPods. Because of the lower sensitivity, you have a hard time scrolling fast enough to see the letters come up. They can if you really try at it, but it's not so easy. This is the only disappointment I have with my Classic.
ps Your 60GB is actually a 5th gen, not Classic.

Unhappy with verizon about long distance charges

Hi I have been very happy with verizon for a very long time, and I always had every problem resolved, the customer service is one of the best there is. But I saw a $38.87 in long distance charge on my bill. Which is impossible because when I first got my cell phone I was never able to make international calls from day one, also I only use calling cards or apps to call international. As always I trust verizon wireless to resolve my issues. So when I called I spoke to BROOK and she was fine at first, but then when I told her that I never added international calling to my plan, she said that this service is given to long time customers. And even tho I did accepted that in fact I did call international, she kept repeating herself to me saying, ''YOU JUST ADMITTED TO ME YOU MADE THE CALL''. Of course I admitted it, I'm not gonna lie. I felt like my mom saying ''you just admitted to me". When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said I am the supervisor and I can only meet you half way as a courtesy or something like that. I insisted to speak someone higher and finally she put me on hold, I said ok she said ''uhuh'' like I inconvenienced her. I work in customer service, customers can get really rude and frustrating, and even curse you out, but in no way I did any of that(because I know how it feels). The point is that I never added international calling to my plan, and I used a calling card to make every international call. Although the gentleman she transferred me after was more like a person DID NOT resolve my problem I am $19.00 short. I am so upset and even when verizon was charging extra for many months in the past w/o my permission (it was returned after). Even that, did not make me upset because I trusted that verizon will resolve it with no problem. Well now I can't wait until my plan is due on November and cancel my services.

I am also unhappy with verizon's long distance charges for my cell phone. It's ridiculous that I'm getting charged $6.37 in long distance charges for two months in a row. The first month, I went to the store and they mentioned a call to Canada. I was like "fine, I may have called Canada." The next month, I am absolutely certain that I did not make any international calls; yet I got another charge for $6.37. Now I'm going to have to waste my time on the phone with Verizon for this refund because their website links you to discussion forums instead of providing an option to email customer service to complain about overcharges.

Charger port went bad

I've heard there is a charger "pad" that can be used to charge batteries for cell phones.
Anyone aware of one or some way that I could recharge the battery outside my phone?

Wall charger (micro pho

hi all, i have found a 5 volt wall charger with the correct connection to plug into my micro photo. the thing is, its a motorola charger for a cell phone i think. the output looks correct (5V), but it also says "OUTPUT: 5V=850mA". I dont know how mA will affect this because chargers on amazon have ranged from 750-000mA. any help would be good on whether i can use this charger.

I have the same problem with charging my micro photo. I tried my phone charger as well and I bought a generic one?from eBay all they do is trickle charge where it will provide power while it is?connected but once disconnected it has not charged.
Nothing has worked but using the computer. Have you found anything that has worked. I will just have to buy the one from creative.

Battery charges to about 83%

My iBook Dual-USB is displaying an odd behaviour. I had a battery aged around 2 years (around 350 charge cycles). It didn't charge anymore to 100% but when it reached 80-83% the 4 green LEDS started blinking together; eventually stopped blinking all together, but the colored ring around the adaptor port remained orange. When I turned on the Mac, the battery showed around 83% charge, never going any higher.
Si I decided to buy a new battery. First time round it charged to 95%, but it is now on its 4th charge cycle and is already displaying the same behaviour as the old battery.
Could it be my power adapter that's on the blink? I've tried resetting the Power Manager and PRAM but that doesn't solve anything.
If I need to buy a new adapter, is it OK to buy a 65W one or should it be 45W as the original one? My Apple Store only seems to sell the 65W model.

Thanks for your advice. I bought a new PowerBook G4 last month and tried the power adapter that came with it on my iBook, but nothing. It still loads to about 83%, then stops loading. The ring remains amber, tough the battery icon in the menu bar turns to "charged". It's a real mystery. The only thing that I can think of is that 83% is about 5/6 of 100%. So if the battery is a 6-cell one (what I presume) there something must be going wrong with charging the 6th cell... (sounds a bit like a murder mystery).

I caught this deal at AmazonWireless about a week and a half ago. $119.99 on 2 year renewal. No tax. It's the first time I bought a phone anywhere but the Verizon corporate store. Everything has gone well and I would do it again. Got the $15 Amazon credits for MP3s, Kindle and Amazon Apps (5 bucks each). The phone also came with a card for $25 credit at the Samsung Media Hub. Very happy with this price.
The only drawback in using Amazon Wireless (or any other dealer except Verizon) is a separate agreement to keep the phone on the line for 180 days (6 mos) so the retailer can get their rebate from the manufacturer. If you swap out the phone before that, you get hit with a separate $250 charge. I only realized this could be a problem after I bought the phone. I was speaking to an Amazon Wireless phone rep who was helping me get my phone provisioned at Verizon. I mentioned that I was keeping my Storm2 in case I went to Europe since I could just swap the Charge out for the Storm and use it in Europe. She then informed me about the penalty. I asked if it would apply if I only swapped the Charge out for a week or two. After putting me on hold to check with her supervisor, she came back and said that ANY INTERRUPTION in having the Charge on the line would trigger the penalty. The problem may be with the manufacturer, but I'm not sure.
I don't have any plans to go to Europe in the next six months, but I thought I would mention this since it could bite someone in the butt. Overall, I would buy from Amazon again. $269 plus tax (after $30 NE2) from Verizon vs. $119 with no tax from Amazon. Very happy here!

Adobe Reader 9 don't read flash animation on Mac...

je viens de télécharger Adobe reader 9 et, sur mon iMac intel 20" C2D sous 10.5.4, les animations flash continuent à ne pas êtres lues.
Un clic droit sur l'emplacement de l'animation me dit : "Animation non chargée", et cela aussi bien avec Adobe Reader 9.0 qu'avec Safari.
En fait ça a commencé à peu près au printemps dernier avec Adobe Reader 8, après une mise à jour de sécurité d'Apple...
J'ai contacté à plusieurs reprises la Hotline d'Adobe, donc sans résultat.
Ces mêmes animations sont pourtant lues sans problème sous Windows ou bien sur un iMac G5 avec un système plus ancien...
Exemple, sur cette page : http://www.photologie.fr/indexStirLed.html on voit une animation flash en haut, à droite.
Une fois convertie en fichier .pdf : http://www.photologie.fr/stirling/fichierspdf/StirLed.pdf l'animation flash n'est plus visible, et le message "Mise ne mémoire tampon" sur fond noir apparaît en bas à droite...
Ce qu'il y a de paradoxal, c'est qu'Adobe insiste sur la facilité de lire les animations et les vidéos avec la version 9 !
Du coup, je ne vois pas bien l'intérêt d'acheter la version 9 d'Acrobat... :-)
