Charging my American Ipod in Sweden (220w), is it safe?

I just bought an UK charger and it should be arriving soon. I'll buy some converters so that I can convert it around to be used in any country that I visit.
However, there's one problem: Sweden (and other European countries, I don't know which, but the Netherlands, for example) use 220w.
Is it safe to plug in my Ipod into the wall or will I need to buy some kind of additional item that will regulate how much of the current that goes into my Ipod?

The charger will work in any country where the voltage is between 100 and 240 volts.

can i charge my american ipod touch in UK? I could try to use an adaptor, but i know there is a difference in electric current, and would hate to fry my ipod. Does anyone have any experience with this? many thanks for any suggestions you might make.
    cheers--chris

Yes, the charging is auto ranging, so all you need is the proper plug/adapter. Apple sells a nice travel kit.

  • American Ipod touch work's in the UK?

i was wondering... If i buy an american Ipod touch (first gen) would it work in the UK?
Would i be able to charge? Go onto the internet or get onto the app store?
If not, is there any way i could make it so that i could?

even the ones you buy in Australia works
Yeah, but the accelerometer is installed upside down, so the screen rotates the right way up.

  • I had a fully charged fifth gen iPod touch.  Had nothing but trouble since updating to iOS8.  This morning the iPod was fully charged. Turned it off-on standby. Came back and it won't turn on. Tried all troubleshooting tricks. Anyone ideas?

This morning, I had my fully charged 5th gen iPod touch.  Have had lots of problems with it since updating to iOS8.  After briefly using it (successfully may I add), I switched it off to standby.  Came back only 10 minutes later, and it would not turn on. Tried all the obvious solutions, even switched out the lightening cord.  Apple support could not help, and their only solution is to call.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Any other solutions other than obvious ones?  iTunes no longer even recognizes the iPod. Thank everyone!

Hey Wildfarmrose, Have you tries any of these: iOS: Not responding or does not turn on , if still no joy try DFU Recovery Mode

About the only other thing to try is let the battery drain, then attempt to charge for 30 minutes and attempt to turn on, otherwise try another cable, and/or different computer, if still no joy most likely dealing with a hardware issue, schedule an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store and have your iPod evaluated. Don't forget to bring your cable also.  Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar

  • My daughter bought an 4th generation ipod classic without a charger.  We are using the charger from an ipod touch and it won't charge.  Someone posted online that not all chargers will work on the classic.  Anyone else have this issue and any suggestions?

My daughter bought a 4th generation ipod classic without a charger.  The ipod was working just fine, but then we tried to charge it using a brand new charger for an Ipod Touch.  It won't charge and someone online someone posted that there ipod touch charger worked on the ipad, phone and whatever else he had but it wouldn't work on the classic.  Anyone else have this same issue?  Any solutions?

The ipod did not come with a power cord as we purchased it used from ebay.  The ipod was half charged when we received it and it worked well enough to transfer songs to my computer (the previous seller didn't delete their 2000 plus songs).  My son then used the same cord on his computer to transfer the songs, but processed an update to the ipod and after that,it wouldn't work.  So, I'm not sure if we received a bum ipod, an update issue or we have a charger issue, but the cord we used to transfer the songs came from my son's brand new ipod touch.  We've also tried 2 other chargers from ipods we have in the house, 1 being a wall charger.
One individual posted online that he took his ipod classic, mac and phone overseas with one charger and it worked fine on all but the classic.  So, I'm thinking that they cords may not be universal.  Online I've read that it must be a 6 pin firewire, high power 2.0 usb cord.  Or that I need to purchase an applie charger.  We don't live close to an apple store and I'm reluctant to order one just to have it NOT work.
My daughter is learning the hard way that buying off of ebay is not always the best solution to a cash strapped 12 year old.
Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

By "charger," do you mean a USB power adapter that plugs into the wall outlet (used to "charge" the iPod), or are you asking about the USB docking cable that connect the iPod to the computer?

  • Where can I buy a charger for an ipod mini 1st generation

Where can I buy a charger for an ipod mini 1st generation

I believe that is a 4th gen iPod.  When you say "charger," do you mean the USB docking cable?  Or do mean a USB power adapter that you connect to a wall outlet to charge the iPod?
If it's the docking cable, it's the standard USB docking cable

If you happen to have a Mac with a FireWire port, the 4th gen iPod actually ALSO works (better) over a FireWire connection.  But you'll have to look for an old FireWire docking cable on eBay (or other online source).
If you are asking about a USB power adapter, this is the lowest power version from Apple, and it works with the 4th gen iPod.

  • My charger broke so I gave my sister the charger, and my iPod touch for proof. She took it to the apple store and traded it for an iPhone 5c. I was wondering if apple can do something for me so I could get my ipod back?

I have no idea what you meant by giving your sister your "iPod touch for proof". Proof of what?
The only way she could have traded it was recycling it for 10% off the cost of a new device but the Apple Store doesn't do this as far as I know for iPhones. You could take the receipt for your iPhone to the Apple Store and show it to the manager but you really need to solve this within your family.

  • Can I charge my 2013 ipod classic with my original ipod classic firewire charger?

Can I charge my 2013 ipod classic with my original ipod classic firewire charger?

Nope, I'm sorry. iOS/iTunes only (you need a connection to your network, and the iPod classic doesn't have network capabilities).

  • Does an American iPod work in Europe?

I'm currently living in the US, but I'll be going back to my home, Denmark, in a few months. But before I leave I've been thinking of purchasing a new iPod (my iPod mini is getting too small for me) - I need more space fast! I was just wondering if buying an iPod here in the States would give me problems when using the device at home...
Would I have to change my iTunes language to English (currently Danish)? Will my iPod always be in English or can a software update change that?
Will I be able to use my old iPod mini charger with the iPod?
And what about the warranty? That's one year, right? What if something happens to my iPod within that one year? Will it have to go to the US to get fixed or how would that work?
Is there any other things I should consider - any other problems that might occur when changing country?
I realize this is a whole lot of questions, but I hope you can help! Thanks for reading this...

  • HT1353 I need a charger for this iPod

I am trying to find a charger for my iPod classic 20g and I am having a hard time finding one. Can any one help me?

An iPod with a 20GB hard drive can be 2nd gen, 3rd gen, or 4th gen.  You can take a look at this document
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
2nd gen = iPod (Touch wheel)
3rd gen = iPod (dock connector)
4th gen = iPod (click wheel), iPod photo, or iPod with color display
Which one do you have?  Each of the above uses a different docking cable.
By "charger," I'm assuming you mean the docking cable, and not a power adapter (that plugs into a wall outlet to "charge" the iPod).
