Charging nano without a computer

I am going on vacation and will not have access to a computer to recharge the nano if it runs out of juice. Is there any other way to do it? It did not come with a wall charger.

You don't need a different charger so long as the charger you buy is able to match different county's 50-60Hz Alternating Current and 100 - 240 Volt supplies. Obviously there are numerous types of physical connections too. In the UK we have three rectangular pins, Europe has two round pins and the US have two slim pins.
Chargers like the Gear4 World Tour that I link to above support most countries:

Can I sync my iPod Touch with my older iPod Nano without a computer?

Keep in mind that you can't drag and drop (transfer) songs from one iPod to another using iTunes either.  The music you want to add from one iPod to the other, must be stored in your iTunes library first.

  • How to transfer music from ipad to ipod nano without a computer?

I am trying to transfer music directly from my ipad2 to my iPod Nano. Has anyone figured out how to do this without using a computer?

You can't.  Music can only be synced to the Nano from an iTunes library located on a PC or Mac.

  • Reset Ipod nano without original computer

I have an ipod nano. I want to sale since I prefer to use my cellphone to listen to music. I dont have the original computer since I travel. Is there any other way to reset ipod?
Can I bring it to an Apple Store and would they reset it?
    Thanks,
    Christian

You can use any computer to Restore it and clear everything, it doesn't have to be your original computer. Or you can make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store.

  • How can i download music from my computer to my ipod nano without erasing music already there?

how can i download music from my computer to my ipod nano without erasing music already there?

If the music you are wanting to have on your iphone was purchased through itunes you can then go to your front display to settings>itunes and app store from there you have a toggled switch that allows you to automatically download music and apps by toggling the switch. You will need to toggle the switch below these switchs that allows for cellular data to be enabled if this has not already been enabled. This then will automatically download music and apps directly to your device with no additional charge to you.
    Good luck.

  • My computer where my itunes library is stored is no longer accessible.  how can i add songs to my ipod nano without losing the songs already on it.

The computer where i have my itunes library is no longer accessible.  How can I add new songs to my  Ipod nano without losing the song already on it?

You will need that library copied from the old computer. If not, then you can take a look at this in getting 3rd party software to recover your library from the iPod. Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

By calling iPod tech support while you are under warranty.  You also have 14 days to return it w/no questions asked for a replacement or your $$$ back.

  • Charging my iPod nano if my computer is infected.

    Hi everyone,
My Dell laptop appears to be infected with SpyWare. My question is, is it safe to charge my Nano on this computer, or is there a chance it could get infected somehow, too? Should I worry about buying stuff from iTunes?
    Thanks!
    -Allison

Whilst it's unlikely that anything untoward would happen to your iPod whilst charging it via your computer (you're not transferring any data to the iPod after all), you might want to consider cleaning your computer of spyware/adware/malware and anything else that may have infected it.
Always best to be on the safe side, especially if you have the iPod set to auto sync.

  • Charging Nano on Windows 95?

    Hi everyone,
I have just bought my very own Nano and uploaded my songs etc on a friends computer who has XP.
The man at the shop i purchased the ipod from said I would be able to charge it from my computer at home, which is running windows 95, without installing any of the software as "the usb is always giving of power".
So... I got home, plugged it in and it doesn't charge?
    Whats happening?
Did the guy give me bad info? Do I need a driver for the usb?
I just turned the computer on, waited for windows to load and then plugged it in, the screen lit up on the Ipod when i did this but didn't charge at all.
    Thanks everyone

    Nano   Other OS   ?

    Hello Katie,
Put it in this way, I always reckon that it is a good maintenance by recharing your iPod with the AC charger (instead of PC)once for every three months, you will find a need for the AC charger in the future, e.g. travelling etc.
You will get a lot fun from your Nano - enjoy it.

  • Can no longer charge Nano with the USB cable

My iPod Nano (1st gen) won't charge via the USB cable any more. It will sync if there is enough battery life when I hook it up to the USB cable. However, if I leave it hooked up, it gets drained of all it's battery life. Fortunately I have a wall charger and a car charger and both of them will charge the Nano. It's a lot more convenient for me to charge it via my computer, but that's not possible any more. Is my Nano dying or is it possible the USB cable is damaged? If it's damaged, how can it sync but not charge? Why can I charge with other power sources but not the cable? Unfortunately, I don't have another iPod cable to test if the cable is damaged. If my Nano is dying, can you give me a rough estimate as to how long it will be before it stops charging all together. (I need to prepare my spouse for the upcoming iPod Touch purchase that will appear on credit card.)
    Thanks.........Julie

Here's my own trial and error analysis of my problem. I hooked my iPod up to my old G4 PowerBook and tried to charge it from there. It didn't charge but it also didn't lose any more power that I could tell. I then hooked it up to my MacBook's first USB slot. I heard that the first slot has more power than the 2nd slot due to the way the 2 USB ports are configured. Unfortunately, the iPod appeared to have lost some power, i.e. the USB port drained some of the power from the iPod.
I'm guessing I need to take it in to have my USB ports checked out. I prefer to take it to an Apple store with a Genius bar that is 3 hours away instead of to our "local" Apple repair shop that is an hour away. I have Apple Care and I believe my local shop will still charge me for time.
Thanks for the suggestions. Until I find a day when I can take the long drive, I'll just charge my iPod from with a wall charger. I'm grateful the iPod syncs and I have an alternate way to charge.

  • How do i move songs from apple id to my new ipod without a computer

I do not use a computer to purchase songs but rather purchase them straight from my iphone.  I now would like to also use those songs on my ipod nano but I do not have a computer to sync the ipod with.  How does a person put songs on their ipod without a computer? Thanks in advance for your help!

There is no way to do so.

  • I activated my iPad 2 without a computer. How can I sync now?

I activated my iPad 2 without a computer. When connected to a PC, iTunes is not even allowing back up purchased apps. It gives a warning that it cannot read the contents of the iPad. I authorized the PC via my iTunes store account. Also I prevented the iTunes from automatic updating just in case. Nothing changed; it is not even charging. Isn't there any solution other than restoring?

    Sync to new computer
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/11527071#11527071
    1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
    2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
    3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
    4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
    5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
    6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.
    That should do it.

  • New iPod nano chromatic crashes computer

I have an iMac version 10.4.11. My daughter just bought a new iPod nano chromatic and whenever we try to use it on that computer, it crashes and a window pops up demanding a mandatory restart. There was no way to even register the iPod and it never showed up in the iTunes library. My son has a first generation nano and my wife has the next generation of nano that came with the computer when we bought it, and both work fine. We returned the iPod nano chromatic and bought a new one, thinking it was a faulty iPod, but the second iPod caused the same problem. We tried the new one on my MacBook Pro 10.5.something new-generation laptop and it showed up and we registered it. When we tried the iPod again on the home computer and it still crashes it. We cannot use the iPod on my laptop because it belongs to my employer and if they need it back sometime, then the iPod ill be useless. So does anyone have a good answer besides "buy a new iMac?"

We did solve this problem by connecting the ipod charger directly into the computer instead of through the usb hub (which is a usb 2.0 so I don't know why that would be a problem and none of our other ipods have a problem connecting through the hub). A real hassle as the computer has only three usb slots (are you listening Apple?!). We had used the hub to hook up everything (camera, ipods, SD card reader) -- but kept the keyboard and mouse and the hub directly connected to the computer. Now we have the mouse on the hub instead to make room for the ipod on the computer usb. So far, so good, but it would make things much easier if the iMac would have more built in usb slots on the back.
