Charging new 32GB Ipad
I just bought a I-pad today and it is taking FOREVER to charge. I look at the battery charge icon and it's still empty after 4hrs. Whats up with that? Anyone?
Hi,
Try charging using a wall outlet.
Good idea to read this just in case.

How much is a 32gb iPad 2 with Verizon 3G worth?
I have a 32gb iPad 2 with Verizon 3G that could pass as new. It has no scratches or dents and has always had a screen protector and case on it. I want to upgrade to the new 32gb iPad mini with 3G but want to know how much my current iPad is worth first.

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know! Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?
Thanks again! -
Charge new ipad on macbook pro (mid 2010)
I have a Macbook Pro MID 2010. When I connect my new ipad using MAC OS X Lion it charges normally, but when I connect it on my Windows 7, it doesn’t.
does any of you guys know how to make it work?Newer mac books have USB ports that provide sufficient wattage to charge an iPad. Very few windows laptops have high powered USB ports so they can only trickle charge an iPad when they can easily charge an iPhone.
It is because the iPad, as has been mentioned, needs to pull 10 watts through the charging system to do a normal charge. This is why the iPad comes with a dedicated 10 wall charger and not the standard 2.5 watt wall charger that comes with the iPhone and iPod.
If you need to buy an extra wall charger for your iPad for when you are on the road or to keep at work make sure it is truly iPad compatible. I found a really nice two port charger that provides high (10 watts) capacity on one port and low (2.5 watts) on the other. So I can charge both my iPhone and iPad at the same time without damaging my devices or the charger. -
Hi can anyone help please I need a new charger for my iPad 2 as the original lead that came with it has broken can anyone tell me where I can get one from and what is it I'm looking for as I have tried loads and they not working thanks
This one is good:

I have an iPad 3 or the new iPad with the normal charger.. my iPad is not starting is there any way to format it? if not will the apple guys be able to access my data?
Honestly, I don't think that they have any other way of accessing anything on the iPad than any other user has. The Apple Store genius will just put the device through the standard troubleshooting steps - in your case probably try to restore the device to factory settings and if that doesn't work, then they will make some sort of offer for a replacement assuming that your iPad is still under warranty.
If I'm not mistaken they will probably erase the device in order to try to "fix" it. That's what restoring to factory settings does. I assumed that you were concerned about losing data - but if you are concerned that they are going to see something that you don't want them to see or access, I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. -
My mother bought a new charger for my ipad mini
my ipad mini had been out of use for approximately 3 months, because i had no charger for it. However my mother bought a charger recently and after being plugged in for an entire night i woke up to see it at 25%, i took it school and while it was plugged in at school it started to lose charge. after 2 days it finally reached 85%, however this morning it said cable or accessory is not certified for ipad, is it my new charger or is it the ipad mini thats the problem?
Are you talking about the cable?
About a wall charger?
The iPad may not charge with the screen on with other than an iPad charger since the screen uses a lot of power and many computer and wall charges to not provided sufficient power. -
Can I use the large AC charger from. my Ipad2 with my new mini ipad and new iphone 5 .
Can you use the larger and more powerful charger from the iPad 2 on a new iPhone 5 and mini iPad without worrying about to much charging power?
Thanx,
BruceYes.

Really disappointed in the amount of time required to charge new Ipad. Anyone come up with a plan b on this topic?
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Newer 32GB iPod Touch no longer connects to MacBook.
My newer 32GB iPod Touch no longer connects to my MacBook at all. All has worked fine until yesterday. All cables and USB port check out fine with older iPod. Touch still works beautifully but charge is dwindling. Since it's not recognized by MacBook no charge icons show up. I ran the trouble shooting pages in Apple Support, did all the resets, repaired permissions, reinstalled iTunes, etc. Any suggestions out there? Thanks!
Whenyou plug the iPod into the computer via USB does the iPod's screen show the iPod is charging? (The computer has to be on)
Look at the dock connecort on the iPod and compare it with the dock connector for the iPod that does work. Look for foreign material, bent, broken or corroded contacts and other abnormalities. -
The battery life between charges on my iPad has plummeted to about 2 hours. The guy at the genius bar said the charge should last about 10 hours and suggested it might be an app (unfortunately I didn't have the device with me and the nearest Apple Store to me is 2 hours away). Does anyone know of apps that cause heavy drains on power? It also does not charge when it is plugged into my MacBook while I am using the iPad but it does when I am not using the iPad. I mostly use the iPad to read e-mails, play Team Lava games, read books through iBooks or Kobo and the ABC Player. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Restore is about the only option left, short reinstalling the whole thing as new.
Before you restore, go to I tunes and turn off automatic sync. Then plug the machine in. Upload any photos that you have taken with the pad into I photos, or where ever you keep your pictures. Then, in I tunes, transfer any purchases.
If any apps or purchased music get lost in the process, you can download them again for free.
You do not want to make a backup of what you have on the pad now. If you do, when you restore, you will simply recreate the same problem.
What you want to do is restore from a prior backup. Do that.
Then run the system status app and see what the CPU numbers look like. If they are ok, then you can start to re add apps until the problem shows up.
If this does not do it, then the last step is to set the pad up as new. Check the numbers, then add the apps and settings back one by one. While it is likely to be an app, it may be a setting somewhere. -
My new mini ipad and my older ipod make both via wifi no more contact with the internet!
My new mini ipad and my older ipod make both via wifi no more contact with the internet!
Two weeks ago we bought a mini iPad in New York. In New York, we have also taken into use cases. The mini ipad disposal was connected to the mac computer of my son, who lives there. We have not made backup. At home in the Netherlands, we wanted this case for charging on the Windows computer, that we have at home. Immediately, the itunes program was activated (we had a few years an ipod in the house). Appears in the computer the message that you can register. Cases I tried that. I do not know if I did succeeded. There also were some choices of settings. So I made the mistake of choosing the setting to use movies as I recall.
That same afternoon comes on the ipod in the message screen that he can connect to the server no contact. WIFI contact fails. The ipad is happening the same. The computer still works fine with the wifi connection. Both Apple devices have done well yesterday here in the Netherlands.
Please give me a good advice?Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all videos and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -

For an iPad 2, you can only buy a new one with 16GB. If you want a 32GB, you'll have to buy a refurb.
