Charging problem for Ipod Shuffle 3rd generation

Hi all,
What is the average hours to fully charge my Ipod shuffle 3rd generation using USB cable and connect to my computer?
I have using this method for charging 2 days each times more than 3 hours but still showing orange blinking light.
Could you tell me what is the resolution.
Thanks in advance.

It's eject (not "reject").  It's the command for iTunes to unmount the iPod disk from the system, so that you can disconnect the iPod physically (without causing data errors).  On an iPod with a screen, the iPod's screen says "Do not disconnect."  On a shuffle, since it has no screen, the warning is the blinking amber light.  When it's blinking, do not disconnect until it become solid.
In iTunes, the eject button looks like a triangle with a line below it.  It is located next to the iPod's name, to the right.  What happens to the iPod in iTunes, after you click the eject button?  You say it "does not respond," but are you still able to access the iPod after clicking the eject button?
Another way to eject the iPod is using Windows Explorer or Finder on a Mac.  Right-click on the iPod's disk icon, and select the command to "eject" it?  On a Mac, it says "Eject [name of iPod's disk]."  I'm not sure about the exact wording in Windows.

  • Ipod shuffle 3rd generation

My friend gave me his iPod shuffle 3rd generation so that I could delete the music he has on it and sync it with my iTunes library instead. When I plug it into my computer's USB port, it charges but does not appear in my devices on iTunes. How do I get my computer to recognize it?

The 3G Shuffle is not listed as being compatible with the new EarPods from Apple on the product's page in Apple's online store.
However, it could be a typo, but time will tell. Somebody over in the Shuffle forum decided to purchase a pair for the 3G Shuffle anyways and give them a shot. Here is a link to that thread.

  • HT2305 Since updating my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7, my Ipod Shuffle, 3rd generation does not recognize last 3 playlist names; it calls them out as "playlist 3, playlist 4 -- even though in the panel the names are showing just fine. The music

I have recently updated my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7. I have just added three new playlists to my Ipod Shuffle, 3rd generation. On the panel in ITunes in view on the computer, all looks fine and music plays. However, after syncing a million times, when clicking to "hear" the playlists, the voice will call out all the old playlists just fine - except for the 3 new ones I've added; it calls them out as "playlist 3, playlist 8, or "purchased". All software for the ITunes has been updated as of the moment. Why would switching from Vista to Windows 7 cause this frustrating issue? All help appreciated.

From page 23 of your iPod's User Guide: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_shuffle_3rdGen_UG.pdf
If VoiceOver is disabled in iTunes, you hear an abbreviated menu of playlists in numbered order, but not by name (for example, “Playlist 1, Playlist 2,” and so on).
So you'll want to make sure VoiceOver is enabled to correct this.

  • Apple iPod shuffle (3rd generation) on windows 7

How do i get my Ipod shuffle (3rd generation) to work on windows 7

According to the listing for the Apple EarPods at the online Apple Store, it is not compatible with the 3rd gen shuffle
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD827LL/A/apple-earpods-with-remote-and-mic
The list for Compatibility shows the 4th gen shuffle, but not 3rd gen.

There is no legal way to do this-  You would need to be using the same AppleID (account)
As far as deleting the songs, in a situation like this, you should restore the iPod which will delete the songs as well as allow you to sync your own music.
For instructions on how to delete/add songs  it's best to check the manual:
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipod
As far as restoring, you didn't mention what model you are using but just choose your model from here (they have step by step instructions):

I have an iPod Shuffle 3rd Generation (2G) and cannot adjust the volume up or down using the (+/-) selector on the headphones (original equipment).  It has worked in the past, so not sure if the reason is because I changed a setting on my ITunes Library web-page??  Thanks

Just Google for: mic for ipod touch. You will find my hits.

  • Can i operate ipod shuffle 3rd generation green without headphones

can i operate ipod shuffle 3rd generation green without headphones

You need headphones with compatible remote control buttons, which may be hard to find.  Even the current Apple EarPod headphones do not have buttons that are compatible.
As an alternative, you can get an adapter with the buttons, and connect ANY standard headphones.  Here's an example

  • Can I still purchase a charger for ipod shuffle 2nd generation

I lost my charging port for my ipod shuffle 2nd generation. Can I purchase a replacement?

That's the USB cable with a "mini-dock" at the iPod end?  If so, I don't see it listed at the Apple Store, but it looks like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Apple-shuffle-Generation-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B000 IK5Z8E
There are third-party replacements that cost less.  Some have the little dock and others have just the connector, for example
    http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Cradle-Insten-Charger-shuffle/dp/B0062GM216
    http://www.amazon.com/Fosmon-Charger-Adapter-Shuffle-Generation/dp/B00DP7JEIE
NOTE:  The USB docking cable for the current 4th gen shuffle has a different connector that does not work with the 2nd gen shuffle.  So make sure the product you get is described as being for the 2nd gen shuffle.

  • Problem with Controlling Volume on Ipod Shuffle 3rd Generation

I recently bought new headphones for my Ipod shuffle (3rd gen) and I can't control the volume. The + and - buttons on the headphones don't seem to work, I heard my Ipod might need to be reset? Other people have experienced this problem when connecting there headphones to the Ipod shuffle, so I am unsure if the headphones are actually the problem.  Any advice on how to reset the Ipod shuffle and/or be able to control volume?

Try restoring to factory settings. Connect to iTunes, click on your iPod under the DEVICES section, click Restore. When asked, click Set up as New iPod.
I had this same problem the other day. The Apple Store said that if a restore doesn't fix it, then their solution is to replace the iPod. They have seen this issue before but it doesn't seem to be curable by software fixes. It usually happens on older devices.

  • Problem with iPod Shuffle 2nd generation

    Hi,
Today I tried to start my iPod shuffle 2nd generation, but it didn't show up in iTunes. I didn't use my iPod for a long time, however I tried to listen to music and everything was just fine. Only when I tried to sync. with iTunes it didn't show up. I followed all the instructions on Apple.com such as reset the iPod, load the battery to full, restart my computer, but nothing worked. I do have the newest version of iTunes.
I have the newest iMac, running with bootcamp Windows 7. This must not be a problem, because I also sync. my iPod 3rd generation just before trying to sync. my iPod 2nd generation and the iPod 3rd generation worked just fine.
Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong or how to get my iPod 2nd generation to show up in iTunes again??
    Thanks a lot!

Thanks, that was just it. I used my 3G iPod shuffle connection cable to sync. with my 2G iPod shuffle. Strange that it is impossible to connect the same product, while it is possible to connect the iPhone with older connection cables to  iTunes without any problems.
Also strange that I couldn´t find any information about this on the Apple website. Thanks anyway!
