Charging problem with ios 5 update on iphone 4

I've downloaded io5 onto my iphone 4 and now my phone has completely lost charge, won't recharge and isn't being recognised by my mac, is anyone else having this problem since the update?

yeah my battery dies overnight too, managed to harge upto 17% before work, was charging at my desk all day and managed to completely loose all battery while charging and haven't got it charged since. Apparently if you turn things like icloud off it doesn't use so much. but then whats the point in ios 5?

  • Problem with iOS 5 update

    Hi everyone!
Has someone of you have a problem with iOS 5 update? My iPhone after updating to the newest version, from time to time appears "There's no SIM card" . I don't know if there's a problem with MY iPhone or update "error"? Thanks in advance for your response.
    Best regards,
    glaenken

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
Also try this, copied from http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
"No SIM installed" alert (GSM models only)
Remove the SIM card (micro-SIM on iPhone 4). Insert the SIM eject tool or the end of a small paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray. Press firmly and push it straight in until the tray pops out. See this document for more information.
Verify the SIM card is not damaged or dirty.
    Reinstall the SIM card.
Turn the phone off and back on.
Wait approximately two minutes, then see if iPhone detects the SIM card and if it will register on the network.
If that doesn't work, try another SIM card, if possible, to see if it is detected.

  • Problems with sound after updating my iPhone 4s to iOS 7.0.6

I have updated my iPhone 4s' software to IOS 7.0.6 and it is no longer sounding when the earphones are not plugged in. Any tips?

    HI guys!
    I
have the same problem since updating to iOS 7.0.6 - my speaker sound is gone for any apps. It appears ringers and alarms might be working.
What I have noticed, that nobody else has mentioned, is when I use the ringer volume control buttons on the side of the phone is that it ajusts the Headphones volume, regardless of whether the headphones are plugged in or not. My phone things headphones are always plugged in, as far as I can tell, except when it comes to the ringer and alarms.
Not sure that gets us any closer to a solution, but that's what I've observed. Are others seeing this too when they adjust theur volume?

  • Problems with iOS 7.1 on iPhone 5

Everything was fine when I had iOS 7, but since I update to 7.1 my iPhone 5 started to have bugs, one of them was that when I open mail it didn't update and the screen freezed same when I went to settings on notification center, also when I try to unlock my iPhone sometimes doesn't turn on and I have to reboot it pressing the sleep and home button 10 seconds.
I don't know if it only happens to me because my friends and girlfriend don't have those problems.
A problem that I have too since I updated my iPhone with the ios 7 is that sometimes the shortcuts works and sometimes not, I've read that I'm not the only one I hope in iOS 8 Apple fixed that bugs.

I've had no problems with Facebook on my iPhone 5 but here are a couple of suggestions.
    1. Quit Facebook like I describe then reset the iPhone. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
    2. If the first thing doesn't help, quit Facebook again, delete Facebook, and reset the iPad. After the iPad restarts use the App Store app to download Facebook again.

  • IPad messaging problem with IOS 8 update.

Before updating to IOS 8.01 I received text and phone calls on my Ipad 4th Gen. Now it no longer works. What's the problem?

    Hey PopsII,
I see that you may be experiencing an issue with some Continuity features between your iPad and iPhone. Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot this issue:

  • Problems with iOS 7 on my iPhone 4 .

I have an iPhone 4, from the gms I have updated the software to iOS 7 I am facing lots of issues. Now the phone does not connect to my wifi networks . Even if it does connect it only for a few minutes. Also my iMessage does not work. Every time I receive a call and I answer it, the phone shows it as a missed call. Pls advice a solution.

I have had problems with my phone not connecting for quite a few minutes as well.  I also have been experiencing the same thing with the call going to missed before I could answer it.  Evidently, this is site to share common complaints and not the site to get answers from Apple. VERY  Frustrated!

  • Network Problems with iOS 6.1 and iPhone 5

    I strongly believe that the network connections with iOS6 and my iPhone5 has serious problems. I am experiencing the following issues;
Weak wifi signal at locations where I was enjoying good connection with iOS 6.0.1
Sometime when I enter into a known wifi area, the phone does not connect to wifi automatically. I have to open the Settings App and go to wifi section to get it connected.
Sometimes when I wake-up my phone from sleep, which is sleeping well within wifi range, it shows 3G connection and take some times to get connected to wifi.
I am experiencing fast battery draining when compared to my phone with iOS 6.0.1
FYI, I have already tried resetting my network settings and done hard restarting many times without success.
Please advice any action to solve the problems.
FYI, I have submitted the above to Apple via Apple feedback page.

I am having the same issues with an iPhone 5 and it all started when I upgraded to iOS6.1.  I geat a strong wifi signal all 3 bars showing and speedtest shows a 20Mps upload and download connection (I have BT Infinity up to 70Mbps connection), however when I go onto safari or even simplae apps like weather or Sky News I am unable to connect  - regularly getting the message "Cannot connect to .... a wifi or 3G connection is required.  Occasionally it will work say 5% of the time bit having to switch to 3G and luckily I ahave an unlimited data package but the speeed is really slow ~ 2 Mps.  I have searched the web and see that Apple is saying there is a problem with Exchange server getting too meny messages and thus denying access but have followed the guidance given and reset the phone, resey the wifi connection and no change I can only use the phone on 3G.  I believe there is a big problem here and Apple need to get a fix out pretty quick.  If you read this and have the same issues then please log them so Apple know how big an issue this is.  I know it is not a wifi issue as getting great wifi on my iMAC and wife's iPhone 3.
    regards

  • Problem with 3G, now updating to iPhone 4

I've had the 3G since it came out. I never had problems with it until a few months ago. All of a sudden, I couldn't send texts or email anymore (i would hit send and the phone would kick me out of the messages/email app). Also, same problem with most apps: I would be in them and it would just kick me out. There were no problems with making/incoming calls. Then, OS 4.0 came out, and updating the software fixed all my issues. Of course, my 3G is now very slow.
    I haven't updated to OS 4.0.1, Should I?
I'm going to get the iPhone 4 soon. Do you think there will be any problems (because of the issue I had on the 3G) if I restore the iPhone 4 from my 3G backup?

A 'few months' seems like a long time to have such problems with your 3G and not try and get it fixed through the 'Genius' option or similar.
There's no way of knowing whether your backup files will continue with this problem on a new phone, as you don't know what's causing it. The best thing to do would be to go direct to Apple with this surely, and actually find out what caused the problems in the first place?
If the email and text has worked since updating the software, make a new backup - then it shouldn't install any problems.

  • Has anyone else noticed a problem with iOS 7 on the iPhone 4?

I have noticed that since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 that the status bar at the top of the screen is blurred. This includes AT&T symbol, the status bar, and the battery icon. Sometimes, the app names are also blurred. Is there a fix for this? Please help!

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have tried ALL the troubleshooting steps recommended and you still have the issue, then there's nothing else you can do.  Bring the phone in to Apple for evaluation and probable replacement.

  • Wifi problem with IOS 6 on my Iphone 4S

Hello! I'm french and I've just have download IOS 6 on my Iphone 4S and the Wifi bouton doesn't work. I think this problem come from IOS 6. Some can explain and/or help me please.
    Thanks!

Why don't you try some basic troubleshooting instead of ranting about how someone else should solve a problem that's specific to YOUR phone.

  • A problem with the ios7 updating to iPhone 4?

After ios7 updating my iPhone 4 the copy and paste no longer works
    is it a bug?
    what can i do?
evrytime i do the copy it's shutting me out of the app i'm in/

    It certainly does work.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Numerous problems with iOS 4.3 on iPhone 3GS

    Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems after upgrading to iOS 4.3 on 3GS. I've noticed a few problems which are rather annoying and there's no way to go back to iOS 4.2 which I find really bizzare.
Here's what's happening on my phone (mind that upgrade went smoothly, no problems there).
    1. when unlocking screen I often have have to swipe the finger several times for it to unlock (trust me it's not my chubby fingers, I didn't have that problem before),
    2. phone is now constantly loosing internet connection even when there's perfect reception,
    3. doesn't want to charge using car charger anymore! Says accessory not supported,
    4. overall performance loss, slow switching between the screens and applications.
Did anyone have similar problems? Please advise.
    Thank you,
    Piachu.

I had the same problem. Along with apps not working or working very slowly and ipod not working at all, itunes not recognising the iphone.
After struggling for weeks I bit the bullet and restored but I did restore from back-up. Problems solved. Battery life is back to normal. Aps working, I love my iphone again.
I put off doing this because I thought it would be a huge pain getting the thing back to where I wanted it, but in fact it took a couple of hours - a lot less that the time I'd spent trying other solutions.

  • Mms problems with ios 4 update

After downloading ios4 my iphone mms are acting weird?
When sending a message it says I have a new inbox message but i dont.. and even if a person sends me a message it never clears the NEW INBOX number from the icon so when sending and receiving messages it keeps adding them up and eventually will says i have for example 20 new mms but i dont...and also it doesnt show in the preview for the text message in the inbox the new message the person send it just shows the last thing i sent so i never really know when I have a new message unless the box pops up on the screen.. HELP!

I upgraded my iPod Touch 2G to iOS 4 hoping to get all of the cool capabilities and features like multitasking, and a background mentioned by Apple. However, they failed to inform people, that these features would only be available to people with the iPhone 4G or the iPod Touch 3G. I had my 3.1.3 iPod jailbroken with tons of abilities. I thought that i could update the firmware and get at least some of these features. But of course not. So in conclusion, DO NOT upgrade to iOS 4 until you either get the iPod Touch 3G or Apple decides to give these new features to people with the older iPods.

  • MMS Problem with IOS 4.2.1 (iPhone 4, Beijing, China)

Just upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2.1 and got problem sending out MMS (pictures).
I tried to change the setting under Network - Cellular Data Network - MMS - MMS Max Message Size to 800,000, then succeeded. But when changed back to 50,000 which is the regular size of MMS here, it just did not went through.
So seems the problem is after upgrading the phone cannot resize pictures automatically. When the 800,000 bytes picture went through, it did look prettier and sharper when I checked by clicking it in the message thread. The ironic thing is, 50,000 bytes is the limite of our local service provider, China Mobile. So I will not be able to send out MMS from my iPhone unless it is sent as the original size, and once I sent it out without resizing it, my friends get a text from China Mobile that they cannot get my MMS cause it is over-sized... (@v@)
I found this happening in other countries as well, so guess we just wait for Apple's solution :S And for people that using the service with no size limite of MMS, changing the setting as I did above may solve this problem, temporarily...

The easiest way to size an iphone photo down is to do a screen shot of it. Bring the photo up on screen that you wish to downsize... Press sleep and home button at the same time. After you see a white flash on the phone release the buttons.
The screen shot now becomes the latest picture in your photo library. I have found from bringing photos into iphoto to compare that this process will reduce a 2.2MB picture down to 950KB, and isn't really noticeable on the camera screen.
This should also help with mms sending issues where the photo is too big and the phone times out before it is sent.

  • One more problem with iOS 7 on my iPhone 5.

If I left open website with online video on my iPad Mini – Safari syncing with iCloud eats 12% charge per night on my iPhone . Time use statistics in iPhone in this case is close to the waiting time on the phone. Helps site closing in safari on the tablet and off / on safari synchronization settings on my phone. Both devices have 7.0.4 installed.

Apple's servers are probably very busy. You may want to wait for a little while before trying again.
