Charging question considering specific use schedule

IPad 16 WIFI new no issues.
Got a specific battery charging question. Have read the Apple recommendations and would like to get some expanded information considering the specific way I use my IPad please.
I use my IPad 2 days a week; Wed and Fri. At all other times the IPad is not in use.
So far I've simply left it on the AC adapter when not in use and completely drain and recharge the battery every 30th of the month as directed for Lithium batteries by Apple.
Question is this;
Considering the specific way I use my IPad, should I leave it hooked up to the AC adapter on the days it's not in use, or would it be better to simply charge it back to 100% say on Wednesday after using it then take it off the AC and store it fully charged until Friday when I use it again?
In other words, which way would be OPTIMUM and cause the IPad less battery stress?
Many thanks for your advice on this.

completely drain and recharge the battery every 30th of the month as directed for Lithium batteries by Apple.
That's not "directed".
The only reason it is recommended is so the system knows how much battery is left.
In fact, draining lithium batteries is not a good idea as they are not meant for deep cycling.
And completely draining the battery means simply using it till it shuts down (~15%), not till the charge is zero.
I would not recommend leaving it plugged in all the time.
Just use it and charge it when you need to. About once a month, don't charge it and just use it till it shuts down then do a full charge. Again, this is only so the system knows how much battery is left. It's not for "conditioning" the battery.

Does it charge me if someone uses my hotspot if I have unlimited data?

If someone uses your hotspot it would be against your data allowance, however if you have unlimited data, there would not be any additional charges.
EDIT: I would contact my carrier with any questions about that. They are the ones that handle charges.

My iPod Touvh 4th Generation won't turn on. It will not charge even after I used a few chargers and will not connect to a computer. The Home button is broken and I don't know if the Lock/Sleep button is now broken or stuck as well. I believe there may be a problem with the battery or the backlight. I've had my screen replaced once by some stooges. What should I do?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it  says place the iPod in recoverymode use one of these programs.
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Is it not charging at all? Did you try to reset? If YES to both, request for a replacement of the ipod. Battery or the unit itself is defective. Cheers!

Yes, I've been using it for months. And I can charge other devices with it. (my iPhone) but something weird just happened..... I kept on pluging it in the iPod and sometimes it would start to chàrge then sometimes it won't charge. Charges every time with the iPhone though.

  • My iPad air won't charge.  I have used both the charge cord that came with it, and a second that I bought at the Apple store.  I have used both the charger that came with the iPad, and others that are working with other iPads.  It charged yesterday.

My iPad Air will not charge.  I have used its original charge cord, and a second Apple lightning cord.  I have used the original charger and others that I have confirmed do work.  It charged yesterday, no problem.

Before going to the Apple store carefully examine the lightning port to make sure no fuzz or other foreign stuff has gotten in there. There are not that many things that can prevent an iPad from charging. You've tried a different cable, different charger and hopefully the reset suggested by Barry in the previous post. Check for debris and if the port is clear Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Subcontracting Using Scheduling agreement

I am trying to carry out subcontracting using Scheduling Agreement, but not able to achieve the same. Please let me know stepwise porocedure to carry out the same.

    Hi,
    Please cehck the following,
Requirement – Subcontracting Orders to be generated as schedule line using MRP.
    Solution is as follows.
    Step 1
    Transaction Code: MM01
Path Logistics  Materials Management  Material Master  Material  Create (general)  Immediately
Create Material Master with source list marked in Purchasing view and Special Procurement type is 30 in MRP2 View.
Source List to be marked in Purcahsing data view of material master record.
    Procurement type in F
In MRP-2 view, Special procurement 30 – Subcontract
    Step 2.
    Create Q-Info Records.
    Transaction: QI01
Menu Path: Logistics  Quality Management  Quality Planning  Logistics Master Data  Q-Info Record: Procurement  Create
    Step 3.
Create a Scheduling Agreement (Doc. type LP).
Enter the firm zone: Zone in which the requirement should be converted to Schedule lines.
    Save the document
    Step 4.
    Create Source List
    Transaction: ME01
Path: Logistics  Materials Management  Purchasing  Master Data  Source List  Maintain
    In ME01,
Enter the valid from and to date, vendor, purchasing organization, agreement created in STEP 3, and MRP indicator as 2 = Record relevant to MRP. Sched. lines generated automatically.  SAVE the record
    STEP 5
    RUN MRP.
    Transaction is MD02.
Path: Logistics  Production  MRP  Planning  Single item, multi level
Control. Parameter to be used for schedule lines is 2, This will ensure that requirement in the firm zone is converted to schedule lines rest will be converted to planned order.
Next is the solution for splitting the requirement in two vendors.
    step-6
The splitting of requirement will be handled using quota arrangement.
Following are the steps to be followed:
    Step 1. Customizing settings
Transaction: OMI4 (Define Lot sizing procedures), Choose MRP Lot Size
    Mark the Splitting quota.
The Splitting will enable the requirement to be split between two vendors. The following are the details of the same.
Step 2. Change the Material Master
    Change views
View to be changed is Purchasing
Input the Quota arr. Usage as 3 (MRP relevant).
    Step 3. Create Info Records.
    Transaction: ME11
Choose Subcontracting and create the info record.
Step 4. Maintain the Source List
    Transaction: ME01
    To add the next vendor
    Step 5. Create Quota Arrangement
    Transaction: MEQ1
Path: Logistics  Materials Management  Purchasing  Master Data  Quota arrangement  Maintain
Input the material and plant and press enter.
Input the Valid to date and Min. qty splitting (If the requirement is greater than Min qty Splitting only then the requirement will be split else it will be allocated to only one vendor based on the Quota
    Enter the following details
Procurement type as F = External procurement
Special procurement as L = Subcontract
Vendors for which splitting is to take place.
    Calculating the Quota Rating
The system assigns a quota rating to each source of supply. The quota rating is calculated as follows:
Quota-allocated quantity + Quota base quantity
    = Quota rating
    Quota
    where
    •     Quota-allocated quantity
= Total quantity from all purchase requisitions, purchase orders, release orders, and scheduling agreement schedules allocated to a given source of supply. (The quantities of quota-allocated planned orders are also taken into account.)
    •     Quota base quantity
= Quantity used to control the quota arrangement when new sources of supply are included.
    •     Quota
= A number specifying which portion of a total requirement should be obtained from a certain source.
The source with the lowest quota rating represents the valid source, even if it has a quota rating of 0 (that is, the quota-allocated quantity and the quota base quantity have the value 0). If more than one source of supply has a quota rating of 0, the item with the highest quota is the valid source of supply.
According to the formula, the following applies: The higher the quota, the lower the quota rating and the higher the likelihood that the relevant source will be determined as the valid source.
But in case of splitting SAP will not go on the basis of Quota it will purely split the requirement quantity between two or more vendor on the basis of Quota %.
    Step5. RUN MRP
Remember to choose the schedule lines control indicator to 2.
    Please try this.
Don't forget to reward, if found to be useful.
    Regards,
    Varma

How could Microsoft come up in a forum about an Apple problem?  We have heard for years how superior Apple products are but we've never had as many headaches and problems with our Windows PCs over the years as we have with the Apple devices we now have.  My wife has the most recent iPad and my son has the most recent ipod Touch. Earlier problems notwithstanding, the iOS 7 upgrade was horrible and hard to imagine for a device where the company controls all of the hardware and the software with no variants.  As for Microsoft, I can say I have programmed on many various platforms from PolyForth to Unix to Windows and .NET.  I think what many Apple users don't understand about Windows is the sheer magnitude of variables in making the software and all upgrades work for such a myriad array of hardware platforms and usage scenarios across an enormous number of partners and small to large enterprises.  Anyone who has worked with a large integrated system can get a sense of this.  I work in healthcare and our HIS system is rated #1 in it's class (built on a derivitive of an old MIT OS) but due to it's vast integration capabilities and the variety of usage and setup variables from site to site, it requires daily dilligence in error reporting and resolution across all of it's applicaitons.  Microsoft Windows works and integrates with a massive number of other Microsoft client and server solutions that are used by the vast majority of enterprises in the world. It's no small feat to keep the Microsoft software stack in good working order.  Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion but I wish we could past this ABM mentality that pervades online forums. I'm not sure if you've noticed but the Apple forums are jam packed with folks like yourself and me having problems with Apple hardware or software so I'm not sure where we can say one is better than the other, even if you could carve out some realistic benchmarks from which we could compare them on an even playing field.
With all the said, and I apologize but feel that the Anti MS anecdotes belong left long in the past, but any ideas on how we can get the supplied power cables to charge the devices they came with? I don't believe I've ever encountered a problem at the power cable level like this in which 2 cables are not working on 2 different devices. I think it points to software problems but as someone else mentioned about display settings, I'm not sure how your display settings affect the charging of a device in a non display mode. Would that suggest the thunderbolt cables are not capable of delivering enough charge to keep up with idle power consumption?

  • Using Schedule Manager (FMDM) to manage budget carry forward for commitment

    Greetings,
Using ECC 5.0,  we have a business requirement to carry forward (FMJ2) some open commitments with budget and some open commitments without budget to the new fiscal year. We have attempted to use Schedule Manager (FMDM)  to change the settings on open commitments (purchase requisitions and purchase orders). While the Schedule Manager reflects the change in the budget carry forward status, the application of the FMJ2 does not work as expected.  Alternatively, we have changed the configuration settings and then transported changes to production environment.
I would appreciate guidance on how to troubleshoot operation of Schedule Manager so budget carrry forward status can be managed with this tool.
    Regards,
    Rod Anderson

    Thanks, Ming.
My security team has confirmed that the FMDM is currently set up as a display only transaction.  I now know where to take the issue from here.

  • HT1476 my iphone wont charge even if im using new battery charger

my iphone 4 wont charge even if im using new battery charger please help me how to fix it..

Ignore the hysteria about destroying any Apple support by taking screwdrivers and levering devices to install batteries supplied from goodness knows where to you iPhone. Apple parts are NOT available from the Internet.
Logic: the charger is faulty. You might have covered this.
The cable is faulty. Have you tried a different cable?
The docking port is blocked By pocket fluff or other detritus. Have you checked this, and/ or tried to clean it out?
The phone is faulty: refer it to Apple.

  • Question on MacPro Using VGA

Hi. I have a MacPro1,1 and an older Sony LCD vga display that maxes out at 1280 x 1024. I just switched from a 5' vga cable to a 15' vga cable and have a marked decrease in picture quality.
Here's my question: I'm using a pretty cheap 15' vga cable; in anyone's experience, would a better-quality cable improve the monitor picture image?
Or, if I get a newer 1920 x 1200 monitor with DVI, would it look OK with 15' of cable?
    Thanks for any input.

Switched to DVI cable, looks great at 15'.

  • Ipod configured for mac -- battery charge question

    Hello,
I got a new 30GB ipod video with my macbook. I already had a black one, but rather than reconfiguring it for a mac (wiping the hard drive), I gave that one to a friend and kept the new one for myself --
now, my macbook is off in repair-land getting a new logic board and my ipod has run out of battery charge. I'm using my backup laptop which is a PC. Can I plug my ipod into the PC to charge it even though it is configred for a mac?
I don't want to mess anything up, so i haven't tried it yet.
    Thanks for your help!

    It should charge okay.
It might pop up and say it cannot read, do you want to format. Just click No.
Also, you may need to configure the USB power.
