Charging Razr from my car USB port

Greetings,
Since my car has a built in USB port, I was wondering if it would be sufficient to charge the battery in my Razr? Given that I can charge it via a USB port from my PC or laptop, would there be any reason as to why it wouldn't work in my car? I have the Verizon car charger but was thinking this might be a backup.

A very good alternative to charge your Razr while your in your Car an is Motorola's Car charger it is a OEM product an i own one an i use it to charge my Droid X an i will use it on my New R Maxx.

Hi everyone, I am new to posting here in the apple support community so please forgive me.
Last weekend I recently just purchased the iPhone 5s - my first iPhone (I have previously owned iPods, iTouch and the Macbook Pro; so I am familiar with Apple products). My car (Hyundai Accent 2012) has a USB port near the cigarette charging port, along with an aux cable port. My previous android phones were able to be charged using the appropriate cord through the USB port, as well as my iPods and iTouch. However, when I attempt to use the USB port, to charge my new iPhone 5s, it wont charge whatsoever. The lightning bolt, on the iPhone, will flicker and then finally I will get a pop up stating that the charging device is not supported by Apple. Is there any way that I can change this in my phone settings? Because, the car USB port has worked for other devices and iPods in the past. I have even used the same cord that came with the iPhone and it still does not work. So, I know it's not a cord issue.

It's not working with my Hyundai either. Apple did something with the USB port when they came out with IOS7. It worked fine with IOS6. Now you have to sync your phone in the car using Bluetooth and the sound quality is horrible. They need to fix this!

Click on the little up arrow next to the name of your iPhone to eject the iPhone first. Then just pull out the USB plug, grasping it by the plastic end of the plug, not the cable.

You can buy a new one. Charging a device with something other than what the manufacturer supplied is bad news.

Do I need to use the power port to chage my new iphone or can it be done through the usb port for music. I got a "may operate at low capacity message" on the screen - or somehting like that.

2/3 or what you'll use the iPhone with will give you the optimized message. Just ignore it. If the battery looks like it's charging, it's charging. When I plug into my Acura TL I get that message, the battery charges, and everything works just like it should including my Phone with calls. No damage will be done to your phone.

How do I get my iPhone 5 to stop automatically launching Music when plugged into my car USB port?

For quite some time, my iPhone has been set to automatically launch Music -- on the first song listed alphabetically -- as soon as I plug it into my car's USB port, which I use both for connectivity and for charging. It's enough to have made me hate a song I used to love: if I hear the opening riff of "The A Team" one more time I think I'll throw the phone out the window!! LOL Seriously: I've seen fixes for this in other posts, which apparently referred to older versions of iTunes, and required the "Stop AutoPlay" function to be initiated OUTSIDE the device, in iTunes on the synchronizing computer. My 1st gen iPad is not recognized by my PC, my iMac or my macbook. it's charged, connected directly to the usb port, shows the connect to iTunes screen, but is not in the device list on the pc or iTunes?? I have reset it repeatedly, and rebooted???

I am conneting my Ipad to mutiple Pcs, (windows and Mac) and it is not being recognized in the device list on itunes or the computers. the ipad is fully charged, I have reset it numerous times and it gives me the apple icon and then the "connect to itunes" message.... but dose nothing after that. I had it all set up and gave it to my daughter who tried to sync it with her macbook when it did this. We are using direct connections to the computers usb ports, the cables are new, ituens is newly updated on all pc's...
any ideas what the problem is??

I was opned device manager on windows then found devices unlnown ( USB3) as the boot camp downloaded from the internet not define this USB3 port, so, I installed it by searching online for this drivers.

My PC that has my iTunes all of a sudden does not want to recognize my itouch. My itouch kind of freaks out. It blinks charging on and off, on and off... I am able to charge it using another USB port like on my wii or wall charger. I updated iTunes to the most recent version and it made no difference. Please help.

The car handbook certainly states that Ipods can be connected although it doesn't specifically mention which operating systems are supported. The car system is recognising the ipod and playing one tune continuously but you cannot switch it to a different song.

Should I be getting electric shocks from the rear USB ports?

....of course I shouldn't but on occasion I do.
Also, 3 of the 4 rear USB connectors either don't work, or come up with a "USB Device not recognized" error. NOTE: I have no front USB ports attached.
Do I have a grouding problem (thats only manifested after 2 months of trouble free use)?
And/Or is there a software problem somewhere that has caused these USB ports not to work reliably?
Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Supershanks....I don't have ANY of the front USB ports connected at all....I couldn't be bothered connecting them after I RMA'd my first Neo 2 due to failure to post.
mrpiercer.....the PC is plugged into a 4way extension lead that is plugged into the wall socket. Its a new house (8 years old) so I guess they have earthed all the wall sockets....

Hi. If I buy a Zen Stone can I get continuous playback (for instance 24/7) by plugging a power adapter into the USB port? I do not wish to recharge it all the time as it will be used for a very specific function and in a fixed location.

W4 Windows tablet - any way to charge while also using the USB port?

I have an Acer W4 tablet with Windows 8 and I want to keep a USB printer and the USB charger attached to the tablet at the same time, but since it only has one USB port I cannot seem to make this work. I have tried an external, AC-powered USB hub which also charges attached USB devices, but it seems like the tablet won't charge when the USB port is in "host" mode, which it needs to be to talk to the printer. Anyone have a workaroud (hardware or software) for this problem? Thanks

IPOD charges shortly when hooked to USB port

I have a 30g color screen IPOD, when I connect it to my PC through the USB port it charges while it updates then stops charging and goes back to the menu on the IPOD's screen. I have tried the 5 R's with no luck, the only way I can get it to charge fully is to restore the IPOD to original settings and this keeps it charging while updating my many songs. Any suggestions? Please HELP!

I've just purchased Toshiba Excite AT300SE, it charges normally when connected to Power Outlet, but when I connect it to my Laptop USB port it doesn't charge, is that normal or I miss something ??

The AT300SE will "trickle" charge if it is connected to a powered USB port. Many laptops do not put out enough power via their USBs to charge.
